We had a reservation for Valentine's Day later in the evening, not during prime dinner time, and were told they were running 15 to 20 minutes behind. After waiting that long, we were told it would be another 15 minutes. The lobby was completely packed with people waiting everywhere, and we ended up being seated about 45 minutes past our reservation time while the crowd just kept growing. We were honestly really excited to try this location and to have Macaroni Grill back, which made the experience even more disappointing. Once seated, the dining area was very underwhelming. It felt extremely bland and nothing like an Italian restaurant. The lighting was very bright, you feel exposed, and there's no sense of privacy or romance. It honestly gave off cafeteria vibes instead of a place for a special night out. Nothing about this place makes it feel like you're eating at an Italian restaurant or what Macaroni Grill once was. Beyond the decor and vibe feeling nothing like Macaroni Grill, it's clear they have major operational issues. Everything we ordered took a long time to arrive, and they were out of several items we tried to order. Our server was great, but the overall experience was still very slow. The food was just okay, not amazing or memorable. I used to go to the original Macaroni Grill all the time and was genuinely sad when it was gone, so we were excited to see it return. Unfortunately, this felt like a cheap version of what it used to be. It's not the same at all. The decor, design, and overall vibe feel cheap and not authentic. I was so sad when the Murray location closed but waited patiently for this to open. I have already been multiple times since and loved it each time! The Mac and cheese bites are amazing. The whipped feta appetizer and Italian nachos are to die for. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake is my favorite dessert. The staff is always nice and we enjoy our time there. read more

One of the good things about Macaroni Grill is that you know what to expect-that's the beautify of a chain restaurant. However, it's not the creative or culinary masterpiece experience you might enjoy at a more local place. The space has been different restaurants in the past and Macaroni Grill moved in making it their own recently. There are some awkward areas that they filled with artificial trees. Hopefully that's a temporary setup since it looks a little out of place. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was just as I remember it to be. I ordered the "create your own" pasta and would have loved a little more generosity in the sauce. The portion sizes are large enough to take home leftovers-which I did. And maybe I'll add a little sauce of my own. ;-) read more

This is the chain restaurant Romano's Macaroni Grill, unsure why they dropped the first name. We went for Valentine's Day and they were not prepared for the crowd they had. Reservations were running pretty far behind so we ended up sitting in the bar area. We ordered appetizers and then were told they were out of all appetizers. The wait for the food was pretty long and while we were waiting the manager came and asked if we wanted an appetizer (?), which they apparently had and did give us for free. The food was overall good. The shrimp scampi had good flavor. The lamb chops were overcooked (asked for medium rare) but tastes fine after adding salt. I'd go back on a regular day to see if the experience is a bit better. read more

I'm not sure if everyone knows but the Macaroni Grill in South Jordan is open and well worth it. The one in Fashion Place is closed but South Jordan is the new independent location. The Mama's Trio is still Amazing and I highly recommend it. We had a little issue but the manager took care of it right away. Great hospitality and we will be back next weekend. read more

Got this as catering, and to be honest, all of the food was super oily and not crazy seasoned or tasty. The Alfredo was the best thing, but I am not sure I would recommend many of their other meals. The chicken Parmesan was good, probably a seven out of 10 because it was dry and needed more sauce, but the flavor was good. The chicken scallopini was excellent. Probably a nine out of 10.. He had great flavor, but the chicken was a little overcooked. Bruschetta was a seven as well, but maybe I'm ruined been the bruschetta in Italy is exceptional. My main suggestion, get Coke products! read more

Beware! My wife bought two $25 gift cards to Macaroni Grill for my birthday. Tonight we ate dinner at the Macaroni grill in South Jordan. While finishing our meal, and intending to use our gift cards, we overheard another waiter telling the table of six beside us they don't accept the gift cards they intended to use. The waiter told the other table there was a sign by the front door saying the gift cards were not accepted after April 6th. I walked to the front of the store and there were no signs stating this. I spoke with the manager who said the signs were taken down 3 days ago. The reason the gift cards are not accepted is because they are the "Ramono's" franchise gift cards and this store is no longer associated with Ramono's. When you go to the Macaroni Grill website (Ramono's), you choose the state (UT) and it lists one location; South Jordan, UT. I could not find a website for the unknown franchise that now owns the South Jordan store. The staff was apologetic but it doesn't fix the problem. In my opinion this is dishonest to still sell the gift cards, Romano's to still list the South Jordan location as theirs, and for the South Jordan store not make customers aware of this until they attempt to use the gift cards. Furthermore, when we asking Google and Siri for Macaroni Grill's near us, both searches listed South Jordan location and a SLC location with no distinction between the two franchises. When selecting the website on Yelp for the South Jordan store, it takes you to the "Ramono's" Macaroni Grill website. read more

I took my family of 7 for a birthday dinner, the service was abominable! Food was delivered haphazardly with 3 people getting their salads at once, then 3-5 minutes later 2 more. The last salad came out simultaneously with the entrees. One ordered soup but she was not given a spoon. When we did get a staff - not our waitress - to get a spoon, it was 15 minutes later and the soup was cold. Entree delivery was the same disorganized and random delivery, which started 3 minutes after salads were delivered. Entrees came out 2-3 at a time with 5 minutes or more in between each food plate. After 20 minutes one family member still did not have their food. The rest of us were through! We canceled her meal, but the supervising staff said she'd get it to go for us! The food was good, but the service experience demonstrated absolute chaos and ineptitude. The restaurant needs serious customer service training and supervision. read more

Ate here last week for my birthday. Been waiting since last year birthday when we drove to Fashion Place Mall, only to find it closed. My moUtah has been watering ever since for my favorite-Penne Rustica. What a disappointment! I've probably had it at least 30 times at different locations, even in Canada. Just a bad overall meal and experience. The calamari came looking good but was rubbery we didn't have good service although the place was not busy. Our server only came once to our table after delivering our appetizer therefore couldn't give the calamari back until it was time for the check.
