What a cute place dedicated to fish and chips. I thought it was really fun to build your own basket! They had really unique sauces to put on the fries. I got the Japanese fries with miso and ketchup. It was interesting. I will say I feel like the price is a little high. For a 2 fish basket with fries and a drink, it was a little under $20. Yikes The staff were really friendly and was working really hard. Wasn't really a strong fishy smell and I loved the music covers they were playing. Wasn't the biggest portion for the price but nonetheless, Super crunchy batter, cooked perfect, and the tartar sauce was on point -- creamy with just the right tang. I had it delivered so I can't really comment on the service or the restaurant ambiance itself, but the food held up great on the way over and I liked the presentation with the old newspaper. I ordered a take out order online, which was two (3) fish pieces , two orders of fries, and one calamari. At the end they have already tacked on a 20. % gratuity. I'm glad I saw that because if I wasn't paying attention, I would have seen the options to lower or raise the tip. Mind you, I don't appreciate people auto tipping themselves, and I almost set it to zero... but feared somebody might get pissed and spit in my food, so I put it at 10%. I'm not sure what I'm tipping for exactly, the service provided was literally just handing the bag of food over. Waited the 30 min as suggested through the conformation text, and picked up the order. I took the bag to my car and noticed there were only two boxes in it. Went through the boxes and as I suspected there was no calamari. Checked my account to see what they charged and it was the total for everything including tip. Went back inside the Ty's, and they were like " oh yeah we don't serve the calamari I don't know why they won't remove from the website" and they offered either a 7 piece shrimp or money back. I opted for the 7 piece which was ready 5 min later. It took about 7 min to get home at which point the crispness of the fish had really faded off, and the fries were soft and spongy. Honestly I can say Ty's didn't live up to the hype I've been reading, unless maybe it was just an odd day? Hard to say, but I can say with confidence it's not a good practice to automatically add a gratuity for yourself, and secondly, the missing food item should have been addressed at pick up OR through a text to see how I wanted to proceed with the order, not waiting to see if I notice and return to ask about it. read more

We went in right at 11am for lunch on a Friday. We both ordered fish and chips, and my husband got coleslaw. He said it was some of the best coleslaw he's ever had. The fish was fantastic, and the fries were alright. We got full of fish and didn't finish the rest. The sauces on the fries were interesting, not but but not our favorite. I got the Parmesan truffle and my husband got the miso one. The tarts sauce was good, but it did have chunks of olives in it which I had not seen before. The (I believe the owners) were so so nice. When I tell you this is some of the best fish and chips I've ever had in my 40 years on this earth?? Bro, absolutely zero exaggeration going on here lol they have custom sauces for the fries (my fav is the jalapeño cream one!) that take the already airy, crispy fry to the next level! The service was wonderful and delicious food. You can tell they actually season their batter which you don't always get with fish and chip places. I love the build your box concept, there are a few options for your fish and chip selections, but the menu is still pretty straightforward. Ordering ahead is easy if you're interested in take out. I went with the 3 piece fish and fries #1 (with a pickle jala garlic cream sauce) and I was happy with my meal. The fish was good, as were the fries. You get to select your side sauce too, I tried the TY tartar and enjoyed it as well. The price was reasonable and service was friendly. I chose a traditional tartar sauce, as well as a mango curry. The fish came out crispy on the outside, but flaky and tender in the middle. You could tell that they use fresh oil to fry. Fish and chips is a simple meal, and will always hold a special place in my heart. I stopped in to give this restaurant a try, and was happy to do so. Their fish was flakey and the breading was a fantastic ratio. The chips were solid, but I would consider getting the sauces on the side. They recently added Cole slaw to the menu, which was decent. I would have loved to see a few more non fried options but honestly they have a decent meal and a clean taste. I would recommend trying the miso garlic sauce, it was fantastic. We tried TY Fish & Chips tonight as we are a big fan of Chopfuku and it is owned by the same people. It was okay! The service was great, the inside was very clean. The food was very average in my opinion. I was disappointed that the fries were not hand made considering how very small the menu is and that it is very expensive. The fish was fresh tasting and flakey with a lighter breading, but needed salt. The entire menu is fried and it is an extremely small menu. I think I was expecting more or something more unique? This is definitely unique to Utah, but I think I also expected more knowing how creative Chopfuku is. Worth a try if you like fish and chips! read more

I couldn't wait but to my disappointment, it was awful very nice people taking the orders, but I have to say the fish that they use for the fish and chips was such a strong tasting fish and tasted like a lake fish not a cod or halibut which I believe they said it was snapper. I have eaten snapper many times never has tasted like lakes, scum, or pond. We could not eat our food because the fish had such a lake Pond scum taste to it. read more
