We went in right at 11am for lunch on a Friday. We both ordered fish and chips, and my husband got coleslaw. He said it was some of the best coleslaw he's ever had. The fish was fantastic, and the fries were alright. We got full of fish and didn't finish the rest. The sauces on the fries were interesting, not but but not our favorite. I got the Parmesan truffle and my husband got the miso one. The tarts sauce was good, but it did have chunks of olives in it which I had not seen before. The (I believe the owners) were so so nice. The restaurant was clean, and they were very friendly. We will be back.

Excellent fish and chips. Just the right amount of breading. Sauce selection is amazing, not what you would expect but all the sauce options pair very nicely. Owners are incredibly nice and friendly. We will back.

Crab balls are literally the best that we tried!

We walked in and were immediately greeted by Ty! He was so friendly and helpful when we were ordering and suggested all of his favorites and most popular dishes. So friendly and so fun to be greeted by the owner! The restaurant is in a convenient location with plenty of seating. The restaurant was so clean. All food is prepared fresh. I LOVED my fish and chips!! They tasted amazing. All the sauce options are so fun and I love how the fries come smothered. I did get my sauce on the side, so if that's more your speed- but I regretted getting my sauce on the side My husband is not a big fish and chips fan, and after one bite he was asking when we can go back so he can get his own meal! Great service, great food, and a unique menu- this place is definitely a must try, and we will definitely be coming back!

Real fish. For its location they provide for the most part: fresh fish. It was prepared well. Service was good.

Fish and chips were just ok, nothing really good. Probably won't go back. There's better fish and chips at other restaurants in the area.

Amazing. Fresh fish. Crispy fries. All the stars. Not your average pub fish n chips. This is fresh and perfectly cooked.

Nothing special there are better places like Summerhays . But for fast food okay. At least they didn't screw up the order.

So many spots around SLC punch above their weight on value, and this place fits right in. Tucked…read moreaway in Cottonwood Heights, it also happened to be a literal stroll across the street from where we were staying, which made it an easy yes for dinner. This isn't white-tablecloth, hushed-voice "fine dining," but the kitchen is absolutely cooking at that level. Every dish that hit the table delivered: the som tum, drunken noodles, and Thai fried rice were all standouts, with zero misses across the board. The mixed greens and golden tofu plates were legit highlights too, not just obligatory veggie options. One thing to know before you go: everything defaults to no spice unless you speak up. If you're used to true Asian spice levels, level 3 is probably your sweet spot. Level 2 was still a bit too tame for us, especially for something like the som tum that really sings with heat. Bottom line: excellent quality, generous value, and food that keeps you thinking about your next visit before you've even paid the check. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to.

Ve La Thai Fining Dining was a last minute addition to my Salt Lake City list. Located in…read moreCottonwood Heights, about 30 minutes outside the city, the restaurant is in a strip mall. Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.

My bf and I were craving a seafood boil and came here to try it out!…read more We got Cajun fries to start off and a Dr. Pepper and a Jasmine white peach refresher to drink. The Cajun fries were good quality fries (on the more potato rather than crispy side) but could've used more Cajun. Next time I'd ask for a side of Cajun seasoning or see if they can just put more on. The refresher was light in flavor but actually really good and legitimately refreshing! There might have even been tiny pieces of peach on the bottom, which I liked! For the boil I got a half pound of shrimp (head on) and subbed the potato for a corn and added a second corn. I got the special sauce (basically a combo of all the sauces) mild, but didn't think it tasted spicy at all. To be honest I think the sauce was just okay, a little less flavorful than expected. Maybe next time I would try medium spice level to see if it makes a difference. My bf got a half pound of shrimp (head off), half pound of crawdads, and wanted the blue crab but because it was sold out, he switched to a half pound of snow crab legs, garlic butter (seasoned), mild. He thought the sauce was good but wished it would've soaked into the meat more. Def recommend frequent dipping! Crawdads weren't bad, it was our first time eating them but offered very little meat for the work required. He was pretty disappointed with the crab legs--despite being double the price of the blue crab, almost every leg he cracked open was half hollow and had barely any meat in it. He said it was the first time in his life he's had crab legs like that! Service however was 10/10. She was super attentive, kind, and welcoming. Some of the best service I've ever had! Ambiance is casual, had cute theming similar to most seafood boil spots. Appreciated the bibs, gloves, and wipes! Overall I liked it but would tweak my order. Unfortunately, my bf said he would never go back again, but this was only his second time ever going to a seafood boil restaurant, and he's thinking it just might not be for him lol.

My son finally found time to grant my Mother's Day wish!…read more A dinner date for fresh oysters. Lately, that's all I've been craving, and thankfully he loves them as much as I do. I know that's a controversial opinion, and my husband definitely doesn't share our enthusiasm, but we're firmly on Team Oyster. We chose Market Street in South Jordan. For those who haven't heard, the downtown location will be closing on June 30, 3026. It seems people feel the same way about Market Street as they do about oysters--they either love it or hate it. I fall solidly in the "love it" camp. The atmosphere, the fresh oysters, and the clam chowder are just a few of my favorite things. As usual, the oysters were incredible. The only downside was the fresh grated horseradish had absolutely no flavor. We also had the calamari and crabcakes today and both were excellent choices. It was the perfect way to spend some one-on-one time with my son and finally celebrate Mother's Day. I'm so glad we were able to make it happen. Now the important question: Who's with me on the oysters? ‍ Love them or ? #OysterLovers #MothersDayCelebration #MarketStreetGrillSouthJordan #MomAndSonTime #UtahFoodie #FreshOysters

I was someone else's guest, so I didn't want to complain.. but wow. Not good. And that's unusual for me at Market Street. The calamari app was great, the coconut shrimp small shrimp but tasty, my daughter's fish and chips looked perfect and also the trout was cooked to perfection. Kids enjoyed their food as well.
