I sure do love supporting great local businesses! I'm glad to have discovered TY and I'll definitely be back. I'm very picky with my fish and chips, as I can't handle extreme greasiness and it seems as though fried fish in this country is almost always too greasy for me. TY's fish was excellent, very high quality and substantial without being too greasy. Service was extremely friendly, from the woman who took and delivered my order to the chef himself checking in on me a few times. The staff seemed genuinely happy for everyone's business, which made me reflect on how impersonal dining experiences often are. It seems like the staff truly enjoy what they are doing, and it showed. Thanks so much, TY! See you soon! read more

TY Fish & Chips - 3 fish, regular chips - Fish & Chips Near Me - Sandy, Utah

I'm really picky about my fish and chips. There is very few places that know how to do a great fish & Chips, TY's is one that knows how to do it. Batter was not to think and fried to perfection. You have a choice of 3 different French fries. And 3 kinds of sauces. Service was amazing. I'm sure it was the owners that was point on making sure everything was to our liking. Very friendly and service with a smile. Will be back to try more of the menu. But 5 star for the fish. read more

Good fish and chips are hard to find in Utah, so we thought it would be fun to try out this new place as its only been open a month. It was a Saturday night and quite busy, but server acknowledged us right away as they busily caught up on orders and politely thanked us for waiting. Fish was definitely a strong fish taste but breaded well. Garlic parmesan fries were delicious. My husband doesn't love fish so he had crab cakes and found them filling. Three piece fish was too much, two piece next time would be plenty! Great job Tys! read more

The food did not live up to the 4-plus star reviews by other yelpers in my opinion. The person who took the order seemed a bit impatient.. maybe was having a bad day. The place had that heavy odor of old frying oil, which I believe was the culprit for the subpar taste. read more

Fish felt quite under seasoned and overly greasy. The fries weren't anything notable and the sauces seemed like they weren't house made which didn't add anything to the dishes. We also ordered the crab balls made with imitation crab which were really crispy so we liked those. read more

The fish and chips are awesome. The fries were really good. The tempura vegetables were cooked to perfection. The sweet chili sauce was great on everything. The food was hot when it was delivered. I have missed good fish and chips, and I'm glad I found TY fish and chips. read more

The food is best served fresh and crispy in the store although ordering it for delivery it's still great just not as crispy. The service is quick and super friendly and the store itself is super clean. Not an ideal location for bigger groups (9+) to dine inside as it is a little the smaller side. The fish is amazing though! I highly recommend this go to spot! read more

We've been here two times in one week so that should be telling you something about this place. The crab balls with their chili sauce is absolutely delicious. The fish, shrimp, and crab balls were absolutely delicious. And everything is made to order, so it's extremely fresh. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent fish and chips. Very unique customer friendly place. Do yourself a favor and dine there vs takeout, you will thank me.

Mushy fish and WAY overpriced When I asked why they said they use different fish mattering on what they get from the markets (I don't know of any fish markets in SLC) read more

Great food. Great customer service! Very fresh. Looking forward to going back. Honey wasabi sauce was really good.

Here is the deal. $$$ I would give this place a 3 dollar signs. Don't call it fish and chips because there are no and. Everything is à la carte . From a personnel perspective it doesn't have a traditional fish fry flavor. It is close to the fried shrimp you get from a Chinese restaurant. Also the fish kinda small. The prices very high for even eating off of the pier in California. In fact, I would say it's more expensive than eating at the ocean. At Brads in Pismo Beach this would cost less and you would get way more; like double. So will I go back... sorry, too pricey and not my flavors and portion are small. read more

Ok this place just opened up a couple weeks ago. I am so glad I found it. We were driving by and it just stood out. Quite little place. It's a Fish and Chips joint with a Japanese fusion style of cooking and flavors. It was extremely delicious. We got the 3 piece fish with Ty's Tartar sauce and Truffle Parmesan Garlic sauce on the fries. Then we also got a shrimp entree with the Wasabi Honey dipping sauce. The fish and shrimp were super delicious. The tempura on both was perfectly cooked and was nice and flakey. We finished off with their deep fried rolls with an amazing Macha thick dipping sauce. Unfortunately no pics because we were super hungry. Customer service was great. We will definitely come back when in the area. read more

Service was good but that was about it. The "truffles and parmesan sauce" on the fries was mayo, just mayo. If I wanted mayo I'd have chosen mayo, I expected cheese. The fish pieces are tiny, the breading is thick, and it just tastes fishy, not like any particular fish. There are so many good fish and chip trucks that blow this place out of the water that the only thing this has going for it by comparison is staying in one spot. read more

The Quality of the food is excellent. You can tell the fish is fresh and made with care by the presentation of the food when it's served. The service is very friendly and you can tell the owner genuinely cares. I give it a 5 star for the food quality and taste. Will come back for the friendly service and the delicious Fish and Chips NOTE: You get what you pay for, Fish is not cheep. So don't expect to have a quality fish meal and pay less than $15. Suggestion: If you want cheep fish and chips. Goto McDonald's and get the Fillet O Fish and Fries. read more

This new spot is good but also a little lacking. The amount of batter the shrimp were fried in made it a little doughy and thick. My husband really enjoyed the fried fish though. Their fries are quite good with the sauce and topics, although you can order them plain and dip them like a normal fry as well. All in all we would go back but probably not very often. read more

Utah does not have a lot of fish and chips places. Taco Time left Sandy a while ago and in its place appears TY Fish and Chips. With a simple menu and a variety of sauces to add to your fish or shrimp box, we tried one of each of the fish and the shrimp box as well as the mango cream sauce donuts. Filling and crispy the food appeared rather quickly. You are welcomed with a loud greeting and invited to ask any questions about how to order from their menu. read more

This place is excellent! I've been wanting to try if for a long time since it's near my home, and I was not disappointed. We were greeted warmly as we entered and were looking at the menu, and the service was very prompt and courteous. The fish is some of the best I've had. Very hot, and nicely crisp on the outside, thin outer breading, and very moist and flaky on the inside. Same with the fries. Excellent. The sauces were different than you usually find, and very good, and the selection is good for the fries too, with the sauce drizzled over them. The cole slaw was quite tasty as well. We were checked on by the manager to ensure everything was good too. I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular places to visit. It's hard to fine really good fish and chips. Very reasonably priced too for good fish. read more
