Yummy, I'm also trying their clam chowder this time. This is one of my favourite food trucks, these guys come out from utah once a month, they seem to have good following as evidenced by the crowds waiting for their orders and the steady stream of customers putting in orders. Just my opinion, but I feel the filets are cut in half and I'm not getting a sizable enough of a chunk of fish, it doesn't seem to be a filet so I don't get the full effect of a piece of fish. I do like tge fish but the batter overwhelms the pieces of fish. The ckam chowder was very tasty with a good bacony flavour. Unfortunately shrinkflation has hit the portion size of their tartar sauce. Their tartar sauce now comes in smaller containers. This fish food truck is worth trying when they come to your area.

Popular fish & chips food truck that comes through town a few times a month. They serve fresh clam chowder made with dill which is quite tasty as well as line-caught sustainable Alaskan Cod. Their menu is rounded out with a fish sandwich as well as a selection of pure cane sugar sodas. The Cod is fresh and deep fried in a crunchy batter. You get three large pieces in an order. They also have fries available. Their fries are fresh cut but not my favorite. They used to have a combo available with both fish and fries but now you need to purchase fries separately which I'm not a fan of. Prices have also increased. Expect to pay $20+ now for a full order plus tip. Sauces available include tartar sauce, BBQ, fry sauce and malt vinegar which made this Eastern born guy very happy. Despite the increased prices, this truck is still popular whenever it is in the area. If you're craving some fresh hot fish & chips and chowder, this is a great option to check out!

My first time trying this food truck. Really good cod! $21.31. 2.21.2025

My brother tried On The Hook Fish & Chips Food Truck when they were set up in a small Texas town east of us last fall, so I jumped on the opportunity to try them out on 2.21.2025 when they came to Hobbs (New Mexico). I found out they would be in the NAPA Auto Parts parking lot through Facebook. I purposely skipped breakfast so I'd be hungry at around 11 AM when they opened. Usually I like to eat my fish right after it's served, but it's a grab-and-go with no picnic tables in sight at this location. There was about 5 people in front of me. Orders seemed to come out a bit slow until I realized how many zombies, I mean folks, came out of their vehicles in the cold wind to pick up their orders. On the menu: Wild Alaskan cod (3 pieces of crispy & sustainable hand-battered cod) $14 Protein boost (extra piece of cod) = $4 Pick two sauces: tartar sauce, sriracha mayo, sweet chili, ketchup, or malt vinegar Fries (small) = $2 Fries (large) = $6 Bacon clam chowder 8 oz = $6, 16 oz = $11 or 32 oz = $22 Fresh slaw = $3 Cane sugar soda (strawberry or root beer) = $3 Water = $2 I ordered the 3 pieces of cod with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Although I thought the portion were fairly slim, the cod was just as I hoped it would be - firm, flaky, and mildly sweet. The batter was not greasy. The tartar sauce was decent. They threw in chili sauce that I did not like. Also, I opted for fresh slaw. It was pretty dang good and zesty. As soon as I saw the root beer I started craving it and I'm glad I did since they didn't offer dessert. It was delicious, fresh root beer! The staff was very friendly. If you see this truck, it's worth a stop.

Glad I was able to experience this food truck in Brigham City. Fast service. I took my meal home (about a 7 minute drive), when I arrived the food was still hot and the fish and fries were both crispy. Portion sizes were huge. Four of us each got a meal and had enough left over for lunch tomorrow. The Cole slaw was amazing! The clam chowder was delicious. The total was a bit pricy, but that's to be expected when trying everything. The next time they are in town, I will stop again and just order smarter.

So this is going to be a nail and then finish in a little bit. Because last time I gave him a five-star review and I just want to make sure that they are as good as I thought they were and that I wasn't just starving to death and probably would have thought an old shoe tasted fantastic. Ok so I'm happy to report the food was just as good as the first time. I absolutely love it when places are consistent. Crispy nice size portions of fish. Ff in a crispy dry rub and fried to perfection. Definitely another 5 star from me

Long line for fish, gave me high hopes!

I was super excited to try this truck! When I heard they were coming to Sparks near my UPS box, I marked it on my calendar, and I raced over at their stated opening at 11am and found...a big ass line! In like 95° heat, too, so I figured it must be good! They worked the line quickly, but were already out of coleslaw in like -3 minutes, which I thought was odd as they had just began lunch service? Combos were PRICEY, about $15+ for fish & fries. I ordered 1 combo and did the add on fish pieces since hubby & I were sharing a plate. The fries were battered and were OK, the fish was disappointing small for about $4 each piece. I paid $25 + tip for our meal. THIN strips of fish, not much more than a fish stick LOL. Note the size of the fish portions compared to the size of the fries! I asked for malt vinegar, but didn't get any. They included 2 of each tartar & spicy mayo. Overall, not that it was unpleasant but just not a good value for the portions; glad I tried it but that's a one and done for me.

A friend told me about a fish and chips food truck, so when it rolled into North Valleys this week, we braved the 395 traffic and headed to the Smith's on Lemmon Valley. Despite warnings of long lines, there were only a few people ahead of us. The menu is straightforward: fish and chips for $15, just fish for $13, fries alone for $6, and an extra piece of fish for $4. You can also add coleslaw for $3. I ordered fish and chips with an extra piece of fish, requesting tartar sauce, sriracha mayo, and malt vinegar. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service, though the short line helped. The fish portions were generous, with a crispy, non-greasy batter. Normally, I peel off greasy batter, but this time I enjoyed every bite. The fries were coated, which I'm not a fan of, so I only had a few. The tartar sauce was fine, but the sriracha mayo was excellent--spicy enough to be interesting but not overpowering the fish. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of seating, so you'll need to eat in your car or find another spot. From what I gathered, they visit three locations about once a month: Smith's on South Meadows, Smith's on Lemmon Valley, and the Smokeshop on Pyramid Highway. You can check their social media for where they will be and when.

It's a great place for a date night or a nicer meal without feeling overly formal. Overall, a good experience and a restaurant I'd definitely come back to. The parmesan crusted sole is my favorite!

Here we were, a merry fellowship -- my husband Trace, daughter Haven and her boyfriend Michael,…read moredaughter McKenna and her fiancé Tanner -- setting out last Friday on what we thought was simply a birthday dinner to celebrate Tanner's 25th year. Little did we know, we were embarking on a full-blown Hobbit-level quest for my precious at Wild Fin. None of us had been before. We had no idea the treat that awaited us. Our journey began, as all good quests should, with bread -- specifically the rosemary potato bread recommended by our server, Elana (wise guide, that one). She did not steer us wrong. We found ourselves utterly divided, and equally obsessed, over which treasure was greater: the savory garlic butter or the fig butter. In the end, we surrendered and declared both worthy artifacts, perfectly whetting our appetites for what can only be described as a pure culinary holiday of epic proportions. Now, Trace is on a lifelong quest -- nay, a calling -- to discover the world's best calamari. So naturally, we pressed onward. And friends... if you have never ordered a second round of appetizers, let this be the night you start. This calamari is so good that even those of us who once thought this quest a bit eccentric quickly became devoted pilgrims. The destination? Reached on the first trip. Undoubtedly, unquestionably, the best calamari you will ever experience. Stop looking. Just go to Wild Fin. But was that the end of our foraging adventure? Oh, you sweet summer Hobbit -- no. From the seared ahi tuna, to the scallops and prawns, to the surf-and-turf salmon and filet, every dish felt like another jeweled prize pulled from a dragon's hoard. Even the humble burger shone: Michael stared at it in reverent silence, declared it too pretty to eat, and then promptly announced it was the best burger he'd ever had. Drinks were spot-on, plates returned empty, and every last morsel whispered, stay... linger... order more. By the end, we wished we were Hobbits -- specifically the kind who eat second dinner like Trace, in lieu of any breakfast at all. So let it be known: this Riverton gem is Karen-approved. Our fellowship will absolutely return, hearts full, appetites ready, and always in pursuit of my precious.

I was impressed. Didn't expect much from bar food, but this was really good food…read more I had the fish and chips. The fish was very good. Good sized planks, three of them, with fresh tasting fish. The waitress asked if I wanted malt vinegar when taking my order. A very good sign. It came with a very good cole slaw, sliced thin and with an excellent creamy dressing. One of the best slaws I've ever eaten. The fries were excellent. It also came with tartar sauce, of course. Best tartar sauce I've ever had in my life. Seriously. I never eat fish and chips with tartar sauce, it has to be malt vinegar in every bite or it's sacrilegious. But this tartar sauce--wow. I alternated bites between the tartar sauce and the vinegar because I couldn't decide which I liked better. I took home what was left of the sauce so that my wife could taste it. She agreed that it was excellent. This was a board meeting for our club. Others had the steak salad, fish tacos, bacon wrapped hot dog, chicken teriyaki lo mein...other items that I don't know what they ordered. But all around me said what they were eating was very good. There were some nachos passed around, the Station Nachos: "House Made Tortilla Chips, Fresh Queso, Four Cheese Blend, Citrus Pickled Onions, and Pico de Gallo." It was very good. The place is a bar restaurant and the interior was comfortable enough. It was a bit noisy for the older folk in our club to hear each other for a meeting, but that's the way it is. Our server was efficient, though I was wondering about the order and time it took for the different items, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Our party of 15 got all of our food in good time. The waitress was friendly and efficient, but we were in a different large room and I think she was also waiting on tables in the main room. As such, I didn't get checked on my soft drink for refill. Not a biggie as I didn't need one. Pleasant surprise at the quality here. I would definitely return. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
