Yum!!

Hit this place up for brunch for the first time. They had a bottle of champagne for $30., not bad. The French toast was amazing and the maple syrup was very good. We also ordered the omelette with sausage and that was interesting. Sausage was links cut up with some cheese and that was it. It was alright, the hash browns were tasty. They are now serving pitchers of beer, but the price was high in my opinion. Around 20-24 for domestic. Their beer and cocktails are on par with The Break, another neighborhood bar close by as far as price goes. I have to say the service was way better than I expected.

My friend and I came to the nothing Bundt cakes next door - which is excellent and I saw this sign and walked up to take a picture of it and share with our group to decide if we would come back. We are staying nearby. The owner was extremely rude and got in my face and put her hand on my phone camera asking why I wanted to take a picture of the sign right at the door. You'd think I had walked into an FBI facility: We are definitely not coming back. The restaurant was empty and not sure what her issue was. She wanted my ID despite my stating that I was just taking a picture of the sign: There's no need for that level of aggression at 11:30am on a Sunday and it was off putting.

So happy for a new restaurant/bar close by! The food and drinks are delicious! I tried the burger, sweet chili wings, onion rings, and a chocolate browning with vanilla ice cream. I was having so much fun playing Bingo (free to play) that I forgot to take food pics. Everything was super flavorful including the garlic ranch dipping sauce. The service was excellent and welcoming from start to finish. Almost every night there is a different activity (Bingo, Trivia, Wine Night, etc.) which makes the atmosphere welcoming and lively! I will for sure be back... possibly... a lot! I'm a sucker for a game nights!

This spot is gooood! I'm a big burger fan. While every restaurant can "sell" a burger these days, very few can make a properly good burger. I went for the Bulleit Burbon Burger. Creative to say the least. Delicious and different. Jam and cream cheese on a burger... who knew. Fries were crispy. Food was hot. Just hit the spot. Nice decor. Will happily come back again

Four of us went in for Sunday Brunch (our first visit here) and it was so great! A nice upper scale bar atmosphere. It was not too loud so we could carry on conversation which is different from a lot of places of the same type. We were greeted and served right away. The food was really great! Very pleasantly surprised after seeing a couple of the other reviews. We will definitely be back and so glad to have The Station in the neighborhood!

We were so excited to check out The Station Bar--the newest spot in town had been calling our name. But sadly... it was kind of a whole lotta meh. We came in on a Saturday around 1 p.m., and the place was nearly empty--only two other tables were seated. The vibe was modern and clean, and our server was kind and attentive (shoutout to her!), but the food? Severely underwhelming. The brunch-only menu until 3 p.m. is super limited, and while I appreciated that they offered mocktails (non-drinker here!), the real MVP was their lemonade mixer. Honestly, that was the highlight. As for the food--we tried the breakfast burrito, which was... fine. The salsa inside tasted like straight-up tomato paste, and it kind of overpowered everything else. They did add hashbrowns for me though, which was a nice touch! The chicken strips were forgettable--just your average frozen-style tenders--and the sauces didn't add anything special. The eggs Benedict was probably the best of the bunch. We tried to order it with Canadian bacon like the menu said, but our server let us know (kindly!) that they've never actually had Canadian bacon. So we went with ham, which was decent! Overall, for sit-down pricing, it didn't feel worth the splurge. We really wanted to love it, and maybe the drink scene is what they do best--but for us, it just missed the mark. Wishing them well, though, and hoping they find their groove!

The drinks were superb, the surf and turf is incredible and the funeral potatoes were out of this world!! I also have to mention the lobster Mac is worth the trip here alone, the crab cakes are perfection and the house made bread and spread are 10/10. I truly have no notes, this place just does it all right.

Ve La Thai Fining Dining was a last minute addition to my Salt Lake City list. Located in…read moreCottonwood Heights, about 30 minutes outside the city, the restaurant is in a strip mall. Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.

It may have been because of the fact that it was Valentine's Day and they were super busy, or because we didn't have a reservation, but we waited 30 minutes to place our order. I ordered the thai chili basil stir fry with tofu and they brought it with chicken. So I had to have them redo the order because I am vegetarian. My mom ordered the pad khee mao, my aunt ordered something else but asked to substitute the rice for noodles . They said ok. But then came back 10 minutes later and said no substitutions. So she ordered the same dish as my mom. My niece ordered stir fried rice with seafood. My mom, aunt and I absolutely LOVED our dishes and thought they were super tasty. Mine had an abundance of veggies and really good sauce. Wow! It was really good. My niece thought her dish was only ok, but she is super picky and has them take out half the ingredients, and does not like a LOT of food, so I wouldn't take her opinion! The server never came back to check on us and it took another 30 minutes after we were done eating to catch someone's eye to get them to bring our check. Again, I don't know if this was because they were busy and it was Valentine's Day or what. But they had at least 10 people waiting to be seated the entire time we were there, so you would think they'd be more interested in turning the tables over to get more people seated. The restaurant has very cool walls and ceilings (the decor) and is in a very lovely deep purple/plum color. It is vey nice and does look upscale inside. We laughed about this place being in a smith's grocery mini mall area because the inside was so incongruent with the outside. Despite the incorrect food and lousy service, we did agree we would want to go back because the food was so amazing. But decided that the next time we go, we'll make sure to make reservations just in case that was part of the issue when we visited it for the first time on Valentines Day without reservations!

She personally replied to my initial inquiry and stayed helpful, responsive, and organized throughout the planning process. We needed a space where all 14 of us could sit together, and the board room ended up being the perfect fit. At first it seemed a bit tucked away, but once we saw it in person, we loved it. It even has an Amazon assistant for music, which we fully intended to use creatively, but we ended up leaving it on the same band all night because we were too busy talking and enjoying ourselves. We pre‑ordered appetizers, something I wasn't initially thrilled about, but it turned out to be the right call. It saved us from having to coordinate choices with 13 other people. Our group aren't huge eaters, so we sampled the beet carpaccio, which was light but delicious, and the bruschetta, which was also very good. Once drinks and appetizers wrapped up, Jeremy came by to take our entrée orders. There was a pork chop special and a grouper special that evening. I had the grouper, which was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and not a hint of fishiness. Several people ordered the pork chop, which looked fantastic, and the fried chicken was another popular choice. After dinner, Jeremy, who had been wonderfully attentive all night, surprised us by bringing out perfectly cut slices of the cake we brought, complete with lit candles and a cute sparkler for my SO's slice. It was such a thoughtful touch. All in all, it was a truly memorable evening. Huge thanks to Kimi and her team for making the celebration so special. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for private dining or larger group events.
