This is kind of a Cafe Rio only Pacific Islandish. It's OK food. I'm not that enamoured of it. You can get good deals of BOGO free coupons all over the place. Even from downloading their app and starting an account. You just need to try it out for yourself. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs! read more

Rumbi Island Grill - Voodoo salad - Burgers Near Me - Sandy, Utah

This place serves excellent food. The employee that helped us was super helpful with our coupon. The food tasted great and I'm glad that I get regular coupons so that I can come and always feel like I'm getting a deal. The meats were cooked wonderfully and have great texture. Their rice bowls are delicious and have tons of different sauce to choose from. I also recommend the voodoo salad, it's fantastic! They also have half and full sizes of each entree. If you want to try a dessert, I recommend the pineapple upside cake. Amazing! I love the fun Hawaiian ambiance. They also have delicious lemonades. read more

3 words: loaded island fries. It's been a while since we have been to Rumbi's, don't know why, just out of our travel pattern. The menu has expanded significantly since the last time we were here. One of those additions is the loaded island fries. They will keep me coming back. I love the freshness and the flavors at Rumbi! Making it my go to again. read more

I like Rumbi, but this location isn't as good as others in the Salt Lake area that I've been to. To start, the staff member who took our order wasn't friendly. The restaurant only had two other people in it, who were already eating, but he was very impatient and seemed annoyed that we were there. Service is a 1.5/5. The portion sizes seemed a bit smaller than normal as well. Instead of serving dine-in guests using their normal bowls, everyone gets tin takeout bowls due to COVID. Maybe this is why portions seem smaller. The summertime strawberry salad was delicious. The candied nuts and perfectly ripe fruit provided a nice sweetness to the lettuce and chicken, which was the best-cooked chicken I've had from Rumbi before. The dressing was sour, which wasn't what I expected, but it didn't ruin the salad either. I'm rounding my 2.5 rating up to a 3 because maybe the employee was having a bad day. Generally speaking, Rumbi is a healthier option for lunch or dinner that I would recommend. read more

Sweet potato fries gotta be one of the best things I ever put in my mouth fr. The service was awesome

Rumbi is an easy go to for our family since I don't enjoy fast food. There is something for everyone here and this location is my favorite in the valley. I love that my kid eats free on Monday night and always finishes her meal! You can't go wrong with the sweet potato fries and I love that their veggies are fresh. Keep in mind it's a bit pricey but download the 2 for 1 app to get a sweet deal all year long! read more

I had high hopes for this. But there was very little steak in my combo and it was dry. Shrimp was overcooked and the black beans (Cabo style) tasted undercooked. The only redeeming qualities were the Rumbi rice and peanut sauce. Restaurant was clean, the staff friendly, and the service was quick. I'd give more stars for them but the food was less than meh. read more

the service is absolutely awful. we came in not knowing it closed in 10 minutes but we were only wanting take out. the lady behind the counter had the worst attitude telling us we cant eat there even though they were still open. would not go back. read more

Went in with a coupon that expired yesterday and they wouldn't honor it. The lady helping us was quite rude about it. We got our food and got literally a handful of meat. The veggies were full of water. It was not worth the high prices. We usually go to the Jordan Landing location and they are much nicer and give you more food. read more

I love the Rumbi fries! So good! And today they are cooked perfectly! And my orange chicken is delicious! My hubby's fish tacos were really good also. (He said, I'll have to take his word for it because I don't like fish.). And the super nice guy who took our order and brought out our food , I think his name is Roman, is so helpful and nice. He keeps asking if we need more sauce - he knows what's up! I'm very pleased with this location. read more

I haven't been to Rumbi for awhile, they closed the location in my neighborhood. They have changed the menu since my last visit. I love their bowls, I always like their noodles instead of ordering rice. The grilled chicken and vegetables are excellent. Good service and counter help. read more

I've been to many Rumbi's in Utah but this one specifically is my favorite. The girl helping me, Bry, has an immaculate energy that turned my gloomy day into a sunshine. I ordered the black volcano salmon with brown rice. She asked if I wanted any modifications, drinks or desert. she always had a smile on her face and honestly I would drive 20 mins to this location rather than going to another rumbi's. Not only is the food good but the staff is very nice. read more

Was called in saying food would be ready in 5 minutes but ended up taking around 20. Had a large order in and they missed only one item which was a house salad. A little disappointed in the portion of the the blackened mahi and rice. if you want volume it's definitely more worth to get the regular rice or noodle plates. Overall food is good just based on being take out. read more

I'm trying to get more excited about what Rumbi does, but it's kinda tough. I'm not down on it--it's different than your average burger chain or sandwich stop. So I give them lots of cred for that. But it's not exactly making my engine rev up, and I think a lot of it centers around the price. Look--I'm willing to pay a few bucks for my lunch. Especially when it's unique and different. So I was ready to so that the other day at Rumbi when I sauntered in. Most things on the menu run somewhere near the the $7-8 dollar mark, but when I saw the rice bowls (the main attraction here) leave the kitchen, I'm not sure I saw seven or eight bucks on the tray. Do you know what you can get for eight bucks? I've purchased an incredible tie for less than that at a vintage shop in San Francisco. A pair of old cufflinks. Two banh mi. That great big 64-pack of crayons. And many other random items. I was in a bind and so I got a simple chicken sandwich. It was still in the six buck range, but it was a delicious bird. Not six bucks delicious, but close enough. This parking lot is hopping on Saturdays with lots of shoppers competing for space around the development. Maybe I'm a cheapskate (maybe=probably) but tasty food aside, I'll probably trim a few bucks off the budget and save them up for a 3-pack of multi-colored argyle socks. read more

I was pretty nervous trying this place with the bad reviews.... Wow I am so glad I wasn't scared off! I got the Jamaica Jerk Caesar salad. It was delicious! The guy taking my order suggested the salmon instead of the chicken. So I am looking forward to coming back and trying that! Definitely check this place out. I had great food and great service. The restaurant was clean and had a great vibe. read more

Starving and looking for a quick bite. Drive along the road and saw Rumbi Grill. Looking for a quick meal I didn't expect to pay $24.61 for my son and I to eat fast food. Getting to the food I ordered chicken & shrimp with brown rice for $9.98 and my son ordered a rice bowl with chicken for 8.95. My entree Came with a Cesar salad. Overall very tasty and flavorful. Chicken and shrimp were very good. Tasted fresh.....even there are no oceans nearby. My son's entree was a big bowl of white river with vegetables and Chicken. He liked it as well. Portions were a good size and clean eating. Price still kind of high for fast good but the good was good for you. Recommend as a decent fast meals for the family. read more

What is up with this location? I call in to order my lunch all the time and half of the time I get put on hold for over 10 minutes. Yikes!!!!! I don't know what happened! I ate at the Bountiful Location just the other day and It was good. I didn't have any complaints... but this location... ugh.. I'm not sure what they did, but I was not even fully done eating my chicken sandwich before the nausea set in... I was trying to think of anything I would have ate or done that made me sick.. but I was fine right before I ate here and bam... now I'm considering going and throwing up the food! (gross I know TMI? Maybe but it's my review!) The sweet potato fries were not cooked all the way. I got a couple that were hard ... :( Gross... all in all highly disappointed. I also feel it's highly over priced... There is nothing that special about the food, and you could get almost the same type of chicken sandwich from Wendy's. Sad to say but after this run in... I'm over Rumbi... read more

This place is not that great. I ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl with noodles and vegetables. It's not flavorful, there isn't much meat or veggies for the amount of noodles, and they don't give you even close to enough sauce for the amount of noodles, chicken, and veggies. Also, it is quite expensive for the quality of the food. read more

Really good sweet potato fries! Perfect amount of crispiness. Jamaican jerk sauce is sweet and savory. The burger was excellent. My wife loves the salad. The service was excellent. We love the atmosphere and the island music.

As long as your expectations are low, this place won't disappoint ... much. I ordered the Volcano-blackened mahi atop caesar salad, and received salmon. C'mon, how can you mix up mahi with salmon? Not wanting them to mess-up anything else, I just ate what was served, and it was good, not great. I'm pretty sure it was just your typical farm-raised fare. Friends had fish tacos, but they weren't too memorable, slightly below average taste. The tortilla soup is probably the safest and better of the dishes that night, though it leaned a bit toward the salty side. Overall, nothing will burst in your mouth. I didn't get sick, so feel free to use this place just to fill your appetite, but not to entertain your taste buds. read more

Considering how fast the service is...Rumbi Grill delivers a pretty solid product. The seating area is consistently clean and the self serve station isn't a complete mess. Perhaps it is my island background...but I'm a fan of both their Kalua Pork and Mahi Mahi plates. The vibe is quality fast food so don't go in expecting too much and you'll leave plenty happy. read more

Rumbi Island Grill - Volcano Mahi Mahi - Burgers Near Me - Sandy, Utah

Your new employee that works the register is terrible. Please bring back the old male Manager. I have been coming to this location at least once a week for the past 5 years. I also buy hundreds of dollars of gift cards every year. All other restaurants in the valley give you $5 in gift cards for every $25 you purchase. Rumbi only gives rumbi buck certificates. It's ridiculous that rumbi only allows one $5 rumbi buck certificate redemption per transaction. On top of that, the new lady that's been at the register the past 6 months does not allow me to use the Rumbi bucks with my emailed coupon. She doesn't understand that one is a coupon and the other is a certificate. I've informed her that I've been going here for a very long time, but she doesn't care. I had to walk out today because she was so rude. Rumbi bucks are not coupons, they are certificates that were awarded by buying gift cards. Please correct her and let me know once this has been done, otherwise I'm out finding a new restaurant to be a regular at. read more

I always get the volcano blackened salmon whenever I go to Rumbi's. Usually, with brown rice. When I asked where they got their salmon, no one knew. The girl taking my order even laughed at me. Also, I want to know how the rumbi rice was cooked, how they got it sweet, she or the other employee didn't know. The cooks were then laughing at me. I asked for extra aioli sauce and when the girl repeated everything to me, she couldn't even pronounce it correctly. I know I shouldn't review on how things are said, but the atmosphere made me feel as if my order didn't matter. Final order, volcano blackened salmon with brown rice and extra aioli sauce. Once I got home, they had given me rumbi rice, which I think is too sweet. Very disappointed is my service and the quality of it read more

Cashier that helped us on 9/12/20 was super nice, we came in late but he was cool about it.

I had been here before and was looking forward to eating here. I had high expectations. When I walked in, I noticed that the chairs were turned up on several tables, as if they were getting ready to close. However it was an hour until closing and there were people dining and still arriving to eat. When I went to place my order, the cashier told me that "the corporation does not recommend" the combination of meat and sauce that I had chosen. So I chose something different. Again, he told me that was not a recommended combination. Finally I said why don't you just tell me what would be good to eat here, he obliged. In the spirit of diplomacy, I ordered what he recommended. When I sat down, I noticed it was pretty chilly. I had to leave my jacket on while I ate. One customer blew her nose, making loud noises and examining the tissue each time she blew into it. Other customers were getting their food to go. The cashier brought my food. It did taste good, but I didn't like it as much as what I wanted to order. A few people came in and were turned away. I guess there was a misunderstanding about the closing time when Google said 9 pm and the employees said 8:30.
