A friend told me about this place years ago, while it was still located in Salt Lake, but I'm only trying it now thanks to another friend's birthday. I was not disappointed! All the food was amazing! The dim sum, the entrees... I loved it all. There were 9 of us in our party, and we got sat at the family style table with the lazy Susan. We tried a bit of everything: buns, chicken feet, veggies, duck, squid, soup... the turnip cakes were so bomb!!!! Crispy on the outside, and just the perfect amount of gooey in the inside. Authentic Cantonese restaurant outside of Salt Lake City which serves dim sum. The clientele and staff are legit. The variety of dim sum is limited but what they have is pretty good. They do have one push cart. I enjoyed the chicken feet and rice noodle rolls. The servers were very friendly. They do serve you with disposable plates, cups, and chopsticks if they are busy though. I asked for tea but they either forgot or didn't have enough tea pots since a table of elderly men had so many of them. The chow fun was fresh and delicious. Don't get the walnut shrimp. We stopped at our favorite authentic Chinese restaurant late in the afternoon on Saturday. There was plenty of parking and sat quickly. We ordered all our favorite dishes: beef and broccoli (American) pan fried noodles, bean thread dim sum, Hago dim sum, beef ball, custard boa, and lemon chicken. Came here with a group. This aint no Din Tai Fung people. Ordered dumplings and a bunch of other dishes. The place is owned by a Chinese family and they were very sweet. The food was okay, not great. The egg custard buns we ordered for dessert were definitely something that was purchased frozen and heated up for us - ie not made at the restaurant. I'd guess the same about some of the dumplings. Everything here tastes so authentic. I've been coming here since they were located in Salt lake City, driving forty minutes just to get there, their food is that good. My personal two must haves are the beef chow fun and the clams served in black bean sauce. The beef chow fun is NO JOKE. Hands down the best. Its got so much flavor whilst also not being too oily or saucy. I've had this dish every time I go and it's just as good every time. I used to think I didn't like clams until I had the stir fried clams in black bean sauce. This was a game changer for me and my life will never be the same again. Even if you don't think you like clams, I would highly recommend trying this dish. When me and my family bring home leftovers, we scrape all of the sauce into a to-go container it's so good. Genuinely a must have. I would 100% recommend this place if you want authentic Chinese food. There's a reason they've been open since 1994. read more

The best authentic Cantonese place I've been to in Utah so far! My family just visited and we're so happy we did. The homemade noodles are delicious, please do not sleep on the chow fun. The salt and pepper dishes were seasoned well and didn't have too much batter. The steamed fish was my favorite, it was cooked perfectly. Everything my family and I had was a 10/10. What caught my eye were the reviews written in Chinese. Translation, "Just like home." Now our visitor is telling their friends about the best Chinese food they've had -- at a little place in UTAH! It was like visiting a kind Chinese neighbor who wants to share a slice of their life and culture through food. They are warm, happy folks, and I could tell that serving people brings them joy. The Aunties and Uncles in the kitchen can COOK! The Pot Stickers are incredible. If you want regular dinnerware, just ask for it -- but the disposable place settings were part of the lovely charm. While there are plenty of private booths, many tables are round and set up to serve family style - with lazy Susan centers for sharing. We had plenty of leftovers to take home in boxes. Literally, my most treasured dim sum spot, and not just in Utah! I love every single dish here. I've been going here for over 4 years and not once have they let me down. Everytime family comes to visit, this is a must visit spot! I very much appreciate how they serve all day dim sum. Lots of dim sum spots only serve dim sum during breakfast/brunch times. In addition to all their great dim sum, please make sure to order one of their larger entrees, like their soft shell crab. SO YUMMY! The ambiance is nice. Also, all the servers are so so kind. All the food was 6/10....but if you've never had Cantonese food in Hong Kong, you wouldn't know any better haha (hence the 4 stars). Service was great and they are so nice (and speak Cantonese and Mandarin ofc). The inside is slightly nostalgic, but I wasn't a fan of the paper plates and red Solo cups haha. Oh well. I ordered an item shown as $8.45 on the online menu, with $3.50 extra for ham fried rice. When I picked up my food the total was $17.50! The restaurant seems to think it's ok to keep outdated prices published. I find this blatantly unethical. The quality of food is excellent, but the dishonesty with prices really disturbs me. Quite the gem in this community. They have a large restaurant with many seating areas. There's also lots and lots of free parking too. One of few places open on Sunday, we went for dim sum lunch and really enjoyed everything that we ordered. While they do have a menu full of eating options, we opted for the dim sum cart. They have all the standard items, both steamed and fried. My favorite was the savory pork filled fried mochi and also the steamed savory pork wrapped in tofu, excellent! Compared to another dim sum eatery in Salt Lake City, we much prefer the tastier options here. Of particular note, my friend called in advance to pre order their freshly made soft tofu in a light syrup. So glad to know there is a tasty dim sum place in this area! read more

Moved to a new city and wanted to find a dim sum place closer to us. It's a cute and small restaurant with a few tables. Had a party of 3 and went on a Sunday around 12:30 and it was not busy. Typically at other dim sum places we've had to make sure we were there before noon to avoid a long wait, so this was a nice change! Even though staff were a tiny bit inattentive, they were really friendly and seemed happy to service us! The paper plates and cups were kind of odd, but saw a sign real utensils and plates upon request, so I'll do that next time. Dim sum was good and decently priced! I do wish they had a wider selection, but it is a smaller establishment and what was available was good. The chili oil is legit chili oil which is a plus! The server was not very friendly. It's not starting well. First of all, I have never been served with plastic fork, paper plates, and solo cups. We did not get a choice to use regular plates and silverware. The fried won tons were crispy and the cream cheese filling went well with the sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was not too sweet or too sour. This sauce is definitely made in-house. The honey walnut shrimp was a big disappointment. Walnut shrimp should be lightly breaded and should have more sauce. There is very little sauce and all I can taste is breading. I had left over sweet and sour sauce and dipped the shrimp in there to hide the breading flavor. It didn't work. The chicken curry stir fry was just ok. It needed a little more salt. The curry flavor was a little too strong and could be balanced with a little coconut milk. Over all, with the food, the service, and the dinnerware, I will not be returning here...ever. People! You need to go to HoHo Gourmet or Red Maple for REAL CHINESE Food! read more

We came here for dim sum after hiking . It was pretty busy but since we came at a later time 1-2pm we waited just a little bit before being seated . They use plastic cups / dishes / silverware here . It seems like they started from Covid but they never went back to using normal dishes and metal silverware . It's very wasteful . They use dim sum carts here so we ordered a variety of stuff . We got siu mai , ha gow, meatball , tripe , beef and shrimp cheung fun . We also ordered the beef chow fun . Prices are reasonable, the beef chow fun took awhile to come out. This was our first time getting your food, and I'm sorry - but what we received on Christmas Day was just about inedible. Both lo mein dishes had a strange "squishy" texture, and did not taste right. The pork in honey sauce was so gross, we couldn't eat it - every piece had more fat, gristle, and inedible parts than meat, and it could not be eaten. It was actually pretty disgusting. Also, we ordered 5 meals and asked for extra red sauce. We received no red sauce, and only three fortune cookies. We decided to get it from you because of your ratings, which were very good. Every item we ordered was good: shumai, har gow, chicken feet, spareribs, taro puffs. The restaurant doesn't have 50 options for dimsum like other places, but I think they made the available dishes right. Not all places offer taro puffs and this place made it quite crunchy, I love it. You know how people are always writing corny reviews like, "If you get Stacy as your waitress, you're certainly going to have a fun night!!"? Well, this place has Old Chinese Man (no nametag). He said three words to us all evening: "Okay," as he opened his notebook to take our orders, and "Thank you," as we left. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way. I find the forced friendliness of most waitstaff to be rather grating. Our order was also delivered perfectly and quickly. 5/5 on service. Now the food: mostly good. The Cream Cheese Wontons were crispy, but the (caramelized?) cheese on the inside was divisive: my wife objected to its odd texture, but I personally found it scrumptious and promptly downed three before you could say "Ni Hao". My Sweet and Sour Chicken was perfectly crispy, but the flavor was a little off. It also was just warm, not piping hot (as you would expect from a freshly cooked dish). My wife suggested this may mean much of their food is frozen or reheated. Not particularly surprising (after all, even the venerable Cheesecake Factory uses frozen dishes), but a little disappointing. My egg drop soup was yummy. My wife's review of the shrimp dumplings and pork buns: "Good." 3/5 on food. Ambience left something to be desired. No music playing (though I must admit, I took no exception to that, though my wife did), and we could hear the waitstaff loudly speaking in their native tongue. I suppose that provided an immersive element. Others have remarked on the plastic cutlery and dishes: still true. It's beyond time to upgrade that back to real silverware. 3/5 on ambiance. My daughter and I were visiting SLC Thanksgiving weekend. We called ahead on Saturday evening and were told there was no wait time for a table. The restaurant is not fancy. We'd read reviews about a language barrier, plastic table cloths and red solo cups. We also read on GastronomicSLC this place was top 3 in the state. We were there for the food. Unfortunately we were not served as the host refused to seat us. We considered ordering carry-out but were ignored for several minutes while looking at the menu. We are Caucasian. Other Caucasians were served carry-out only. One Asian family was dining in the restaurant - which was otherwise completely empty. It was no where near the end of service hours. Two other Asian duos who arrived after us were offered tables for dinner seating. Cafe Anh Hong missed out. We typically over-order so we can try a large variety of dishes. We tip very well. Although we cannot speak the language we are polite and grateful. We cannot comment on the food. The ambiance was unwelcoming. The service was non-existent. The service team would come around with carts full of dim sum and see if you wanted anything from what they had prepared, or make a special trip if you wanted something off the menu that wasn't on the cart. Absolutely disgusting and horrible service. Don't be swayed by the few positive reviews, the food is inedible. The noodles in the beef chow fun were weirdly mushy and undercooked and the beef was like chewing rubber, the dish had no flavor. The cream cheese wontons tasted like they had been sitting out all day. They were so stale and the cheese had a hardened crust on the top. The only thing that was even remotely edible was the General Tso's Chicken, which was questionably ok. I ordered take out and when I arrived for pickup, I waited so long to be helped that I called the restaurant in an attempt to get their attention, but I finally had to go searching through the kitchen door for someone to help.
