It's like a Panda Express, but a few steps above. Just perfect fast food Chinese, no frills, no wild flavors, just everything you love. Decor? Nonexistent. Ambiance? None. Should you bring a date here? Probably not. Should you bring 4 of your closest friends here and share bowls of chicken lo mein and beef and broccoli? Yes. Absolutely yes. It's casual, it's comforting, it's perfect. I got the chicken lo mein and it helped a hole in my soul. it was absolutely delicious. I went to Joy Luck earlier this year, and I'd say the food at Mulan is heads above. Not really sure about the framed photo of Disney's Mulan, but it was also kinda a vibe?

What do you got to lose! It's strip mall Chinese food. Get in, eat and get out!! Will def be eating here again.

Don't over think it! It's strip mall Chinese and it's open on Sunday! Def worth ordering when you don't feel like leaving your pajamas. Def coming back!

We ordered dinner from here and it was not very good at all. Here is the rundown.... 1. I ordered Szechuan chicken that was listed as a spicy dish and the flavors were way off. It was not spicy at all and to be honest had a very funny tastes it was almost uneatable. I literally took 3 bites and put the cover on it and tossed it. The fried rice that it came with was pretty bad too. 2. The boyfriends general Tao's chicken was equally flavorless and not spicy. He also tossed it after a few bites. 3. The egg rolls were the weirdest, soggy, fishy tasting egg rolls we both have ever eaten. 4. The crab rangoons were flavorless and there was more over fried won ton wrappers that tasted like burnt oil. 5. The rice was dense and flavorless. I waned really good Chinese and what we received for over 30.00 was really awful. Like I said we tossed the bulk of it, we won't be back.

    aluminum pieces in our ice

The good: Service was amazing. The family-owned business feel made us feel so welcome and the kids working the register were so sweet and accommodating. We tipped highly for this reason. Boy did we regret tipping highly once we got our food. The egg rolls were some of the best i've ever had. 5/5 for the egg rolls themselves. The bad: We got our food and I was disappointed by the serving size. I was expecting a huge plate for what we payed but it wasn't that much food. We ordered two combination plates, some hot and sour soup, and a drink. We got our drink and as we were sipping, i noticed something in our drink. I grabbed a fork to fish it out and it was a huge ball of aluminum foil (i was an idiot and threw this away out of disgust). We dumped the drink out and there were smaller pieces of aluminum. My first bite of soup, there was a circle piece of plastic. I removed it from my mouth but another thing i could have swallowed. We sat by the bathrooms and one of the chefs went to use the restroom. She did not wash her hands when she came out of the restroom. We tossed most of our food and were extremely disappointed in our experience at Mulans today. We even thought about contacting the health department. I wish I went back and asked for a refund but you live and you learn. Please don't come here. :)

Great day for some cashew chicken.

We were greeted super fast and the staff explained some of our options for food. She was super friendly and asked about our day. Portion sizes were huge. I could eat leftovers for days. Cashew chicken was delicious. Fried rice tasted good, but just fried rice. Wontons had great flavor but were small and compact. Maybe rolled tight and balled up. Not light and fluffy like some places. This satisfied our Chinese crave on a Sunday. Other places were closed. They had lots of signs saying closed on Tuesdays. Kind of odd, but they made that clear. Very discouraging was the lack of a public bathroom. I'm not sure how they get away with that. They had a sign stating out of order, but they had signs on the door saying No Public Bathroom. The bathroom clearly worked, but they had it closed intentionally. This may be because of the high school being next door, but still not a good excuse. Be aware that parking is tricky due to being in a strip mall with 5 other businesses and competing with patrons for the 7/11. Cars were pulling in and out quickly to stop and grab stuff from 7/11. Use caution in the lot when walking.

This piece of M2. Sesame Chicken is harder than the table it is sitting on.

Super disappointed in our experience with Mulan. We ordered the sesame chicken and there wasn't a single edible piece of chicken to be found. One bite into this chicken would send you to the dentist for a new crown. Not even sure how they find this acceptable to send out to someone. We will definitely be going to a different place for Chinese food from now on.

I love their ribs! I finally found a place that cook the ribs and fried rice the same way that Chinese restaurants back in PR. The ribs are boneless, sweet and tasty. The fried rice have plenty of ham and veggies. It is always a couple working there. They both take orders at the counter as well as cook the orders. The woman is not very friendly, she barely talk and is not very helpful. The guy is more sociable, helpful in answering questions and have the manner to said thank you.

For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes!

Our longtime favorite -- worth the drive every time!…read more We've been going to Joy Luck for several years now, and truly, it never disappoints. It's hands-down the best Chinese food in the area. We happily make the trek out to Sandy just for this place, and whenever we have a show at Hale Centre Theatre, Joy Luck is our pre-show tradition. This visit was no different: no wait, quick seating, and incredibly fast service -- which is a lifesaver when you're trying not to be late for curtain time. We started with the deep-fried cream cheese wontons, perfectly crisp with a delicious sweet-and-sour dipping sauce. (Confession: I sometimes pour a little of that sauce over my rice instead of soy -- it adds the best hint of sweetness!) We each got soup as well: hot & sour for my partner and egg drop for me. Their egg drop soup is the best I've ever had. Sometimes I crave it and stop by just for a bowl. For mains, we ordered the black pepper steak and the cantonese noodles with chicken. As expected, everything was flavorful, saucy, and served in generous portions. You absolutely get your money's worth here. One thing I love is their huge menu -- so many options, and everything we've tried over the years has been great. I'm also a big fan of their combination dinners where you get an entrée, soup, rice, eggroll, and fried shimp. Perfect if you want your own complete plate, but also easy to mix, match, and share if you're going family-style. Joy Luck has been consistently wonderful for years: friendly staff, fast service, big portions, and truly delicious food. We'll keep coming back -- pre-show or not!

The look of the restaurant inside has changed a few times. when I was there last there was a casual seating area at the back of the restaurant. There were people there waiting for takeout orders. I really enjoyed the great chow mein with the beef. Next time I might try it with chicken or pork because the beef was a little hard to chew for my liking. The noodles tasted delicious and flavorful. I always have to order the cold cucumber salad. It is a great accompaniment to any dish. I added the peanuts to the cucumbers because I really like them together so if you order the cucumbers, they will not come with peanuts. It is a strange request, but they accommodated me with no problem. They had a case at the front of the restaurant with grapes and strawberries, skewered and coated in a crunchy sugary coating. It was a little bit messy, but I did not mind because it tasted so good. The strawberries were super sweet, fresh and juicy with a thin, sweet crunchy shell. I will try the grapes next time.
