General tso chicken

Pretty underwhelming. I ordered the general tso chicken, white rice and some cream cheese wontons. The chicken was very unauthentic. It seemed like it was thrown together with some fried chicken in some soy sauce, the wontons were okay, very small amount of cream cheese inside. The rice had a slight hard texture like it was from this morning. The entire meal was just decent. Won't go back unless some changes are made.

Ordered via door dash for self pickup. The ladies were nice and it was done on time. It was extremely hot and fresh. Prices pretty good. Flavors were not great on my cashew shrimp. Shrimp tasted dirty if you know what I mean. Very few cashew. Maybe rename celery shrimp. So did I eat it? Yes. But probably won't go back. Too May other options.

Egg drop soup ($1)

Super cheap Americanized Chinese food that's much healthier and fresher than most American Chinese alternatives, such as ABC Chinese, Little World, and Panda Express. They have $4.55 lunch deals and $6.75 dinner deals that come with fried ham rice, soup, and an eggroll. Portions are perfect, and it's so affordable! They also have a Chinese meny if you're hoping for a more authentic option. The list is limited to one page and seems more Chinese wedding style, but it's not bad. I've tried the BBQ pork wonton soup which tasted very homemade and healthy. It reminded me of home cooking and hit the spot for this winter weather. The wontons were lacking in meat and tasted older though. Their sweet and sour chicken seems to be the thing most people here love. It's also very fresh and unique compared to most places. They batter an entire chicken filet, fry it whole, cut it into strips, and slather sauce over it, so its not like deep fried balls of chicken most places have. I prefer Pearl's way since it keeps the texture crispier and enjoy this visual presentation more. Their egg drop soup isn't flavorful but it's nice and thick with adequate starch and egg. Overall, I see the appeal here and would stop by if I'm driving by and am hungry or just aiming for something cheap.

Shrimp cakes with tofu (Chinese menu)
Tony L.

Its really a hidden gem in the west Jordan area. I've been going here over the last 8 years and their food is still the same. Its pretty good. Their lunch special are always so affordable. For under $7 you can get a pretty decent meal. Also ask for the Chinese menu. It's not necessary in Chinese but you can get the more authentic dishes like the shrimp cake and tofu. Overall good value and better than average Chinese food.

The owner always welcoming! But our server was rude and "snotty" slamming our drinks and plates. Left me without my water for 25 minutes.

Does anyone know if they carry/offer gift cards?

I asked for you the last time I went. They do! It's a gift certificate, not card, but the lady says they're very popular.

Custard bao was the best, better than red bean bao. The staff were lovely and service was great, given that we had 3 wild children with us. The kids cutlery and dishes were cute too and kept the kids interested in eating. The service made a difference in how much we enjoyed being at the restaurant and we enjoyed the entire experience. Rose hips tea was delicate and delicious. Thank you Zhu Ting Ji for a wonderful experience and for the tasty food!

Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to that expectation, and I wouldn't recommend coming here specifically for that comparison. The restaurant itself is clean and has an authentic feel. The hostess was kind, though very soft-spoken and a bit hard to hear. I did appreciate that she noticed we had kids and thoughtfully set our table with kid-friendly plates and bowls, which was a nice touch. We ordered a variety of items to get a good feel for the menu. I was especially excited to share this experience with my husband, but overall, he wasn't a fan of several of the dishes. That said, there were definitely some highlights. My kids and I really enjoyed the ham fried rice, beef and broccoli, and the chicken dumplings--those were all flavorful and satisfying. The spicy wontons, however, were disappointing. The sauce tasted mostly like oil and water, lacking the flavor I expected. I did mention it to our server, who was very understanding. She offered a replacement and ended up removing it from our check, which I appreciated. Overall, while there were a few dishes we liked and would recommend, the experience as a whole didn't quite hit the mark for us. We likely won't be returning.

This tastes like mom's kitchen if mom had a high flamed gas stove. The dishes that benefited from that smoky hot wok flavor had it. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take pics of all the dishes at the table. Green beans with garlic was so tasty, I finished the leftovers the same night, I remembered to take a photo in the takeout container. The cauliflower (I don't know the actual name but it's stir fried, spicy and comes with peppers) had wok hei and I couldn't stop eating it. Beef rolls is the sophisticated auntie of the scallion pancake. Think of it like an asian burrito with thin sliced beef, fresh scallion and cilantro, and a touch of hoisin all hugged together with a crispy tasty scallion pancake. The shredded potato tastes like the best potato salad that isn't your picnic potato salad. The shredded potatoes were quickly blanched then stir fried preserving the crunch and crispness similar to al dente pasta. Seasoning was on point. The homiest flavor came from the stewed short rib. The rib pieces were braised in a soy and star anise sauce like what you find in Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The peels potatoes were cut rustically and just cooked through and not mushy. Authentic flavors and freshness like this is so so hard to come by. I can taste the quality of the ingredients used. One tip I have for selecting authentic food is by looking at the customers. If the customers are all Asian eating at an Asian restaurant, you know the food is going to be good. Service was 10/10, waitress was super polite and stopped by to chat with us about the food and SLC. I am from out of town but I grew up eating at NYC Asian restaurants and this is as good as if not better. If you happen to stop by the largest Costco in the world, make a pit stop here to refuel after all those steps.

I couldn't tell you what they put in it other than to tell you, it doesn't matter. Well I could tell you that it has green onion and char siu. The thing I order every single time is the beef roll. The look of the restaurant inside has changed a few times. when I was there last there was a casual seating area at the back of the restaurant. There were people there waiting for takeout orders. I really enjoyed the great chow mein with the beef. Next time I might try it with chicken or pork because the beef was a little hard to chew for my liking. The noodles tasted delicious and flavorful. I always have to order the cold cucumber salad. It is a great accompaniment to any dish. I added the peanuts to the cucumbers because I really like them together so if you order the cucumbers, they will not come with peanuts. It is a strange request, but they accommodated me with no problem. They had a case at the front of the restaurant with grapes and strawberries, skewered and coated in a crunchy sugary coating. It was a little bit messy, but I did not mind because it tasted so good. The strawberries were super sweet, fresh and juicy with a thin, sweet crunchy shell. I will try the grapes next time. Thank you for the delicious food

We stumbled upon Great Wall and gave it a shot. The inside was a little different in a weird way. There was only three tables in the front and the back had a lounge area. I believe there were more tables hidden behind the curtain. We ordered: Fried rice - the corn in the fried rice tasted almost spoiled Beef brocoli - the beef was tender but not as tasty or fresh Garlic ribs - cut into small portions was not what I expected and a little dry Only great was the service and those fruit on a stick in the glass counter. The high prices was not worth it.
