My mother-in-law recommended this to me. I'm usually really hesitant when people recommend Chinese Restaurants to me. I'm not a big fan of the "Panda Express" tasting Chinese food. For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes! read more

If you check my other reviews, you'll see I don't frequent Chinese restaurants. Much to my husband's chagrin, it is not my favorite. But I found myself in a rare mood, and this highly rated spot is super close to home, so we gave it a go. We came in right after it opened, and there were already people waiting for takeout orders. We were the only ones sitting down to eat. We were greeted, seated, and served by a very polite young man. It's a fairly small place and slightly outdated, but clean. We ordered the lettuce wraps which were pretty good. This might be nitpicky, but the lettuce leaves were really small/thin, so it was a little hard to get much onto them. I got the honey walnut shrimp as it is one of my favorite dishes, but I'm sad to say I was pretty disappointed. The sauce was sweet but not really flavorful. My husband really liked his food; he got one of the combo meals. We had quite a few leftovers. They had a steady stream of people waiting for takeout, so it's clear that this is a popular spot, but we didn't get less attention because of it. Ordered takeout and the food was ready for pick up within 15 min! I felt like it was a little on the pricier side but portion sizes are great so it's worth it. The inside of the restaurant is a little smaller but they have serval tables and booths to sit if you decide to eat there. The food was super yummy! We ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, Broccoli Beef, Cream Cheese Wontons, and the General Tao's Chicken. Our favorite was the Lo Mein! This is our new favorite Chinese takeout restaurant! Simple, no-fuss Chinese food served family-style. We've done takeout and eaten in the restaurant. Our favorite dishes are Mongolian beef, pork fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, chicken lomein. The Ma Po tofu was so delicious - they prepare their tofu really well. None of these dishes are IG-worthy but sometimes you really crave these delicious brown sauces and this place delivers. The restaurant service is quick and friendly but inside is nothing fancy - small with only 10 or so tables. Our server once was wearing pajama pants which was fine but just so you know :D Oftentimes there are a lot of people waiting against the wall for their takeout food. I discovered this amazing restaurant because I was craving egg drop soup and looked for places that had it on Yelp. It was a far drive for me, but absolutely worth it. I would come here again and again. The service was great, it is a small place and the staff member working in the front was very attentive. My reason for going, the egg drop soup was soooooo good! I got a bowl, enough to share and I didn't even want to share. Because the soup was so good, I got a combo as well with sweet and sour chicken and broccoli beef, house fried rice, an egg roll, and cream cheese wonton. Ok. I'm back. I recently visited Lucky Bowl and something is amiss . I ordered my standby and it was 75 % sliced onion and 25 % Beef. In addition, the delicious Wok Hai that had been present in previous orders and gave the subtle Smokey flavor to the dish had been replaced with a soggy mess that made me believe the meat had steamed in its own juices overlong as it was gray and tough. On another visit I ordered a large take home container of Hot and Sour soup. Usually this container which serves about 4 or 5 people, is filled with tidbits of meat and various Chinese vegetables. My container was broth and a very small portion of meat and vegetables. I understand that prices for everything have gone up. I would prefer to receive quality over filler that just bulks up a dish but adds nothing to the taste or the experience. With the wok hai missing, have they replaced the original chef that knew how to create this delicious experience? Has the restaurant changed hands? Do they no longer care about the diners experience? I'll go back one more time but... well you fill in the blank. This kind of breaks my heart as I like to support local Mom and Pop restaurants. read more

Wow, this place is so good! I was told I needed to give this place a try and I'm glad I did! First off, the restaurant is very clean. There is a decent amount of seating and we were seated right away and asked what we wanted to drink. The menu has lots of options and lots of different combos to pick from. I decided to try the special #4 which is general tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and chicken lomein. I was told the portions are huge and they definitely are! My boyfriend and I were able to share the entree and it was enough for two people. The general tso's chicken had really good flavor and so did the sweet and sour chicken. Both were very crispy and covered in a perfect amount of sauce. The chicken lomein was also really good. Really good spot for Chinese food! We wanted to find a Chinese takeout place nearby since we're new to the city. We did a pickup order made online - if I remember correctly ordering from DoorDash vs. straight through Lucky Bowl ultimately cost about the same. Was happily surprised so many items could be a gf option! The only thing that we ordered that wasn't gf+df were the honey walnut shrimp, but that's a given Fulfillment of our order was quick (20-30min)! Ordered: honey walnut shrimp, lo mein, eggplant, kung pow chicken, and general tzou. The eggplant was really good if you like that dish! Everything else was good, but not outstanding. But it is good enough that it will probably be our go-to for takeout! read more

We stopped by to eat-in at about 5pm on a Sunday. My wife had read several of the reviews and was really excited to try the Pot Stickers. The menu claimed and it was confirmed in a number of reviews that the Pot Stickers are made fresh and take 15 min. So, as soon as we were seated she ordered them. About 2-3 min later they were delivered and they were clearly not made fresh. They were not much more than warm, the non-fried part was not fully cooked so it was still doughy and they fell apart. Overall the Pot Stickers, which was kind of the main reason we went there, were a disappointment. We both also ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and unfortunately it also was not hot. I really prefer soup in particular to be served piping hot but this was just lukewarm. So that part was bad but the flavor of the soup was much better than average. I have been really disappointed in all the Hot and Sour soup I've had over the last several years as it seems to never be even slightly hot and never more than a vague hint of sour, but the Hot and Sour Soup at Lucky Bowl was noticeably hot (but not crazy hot) and had a satisfying sourness. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. I was worried that this, too, would be warm and not hot but I was pleased that when it came out it was nice and hot, the veggies were fresh and delicious and the chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly. The sauce was also very good compared to anything I've had recently at Americanized Chinese restaurants. The flavor was awesome and the heat was at least present, but still nothing crazy at all. The prices here are shockingly low and the portions are pleasantly large. There were a few other people dining in but they were moving to-go orders like crazy! They had a sign advertising a family to-go special and it is a deal that can't be beat. Overall I think this is an exceptional Americanized Chinese restaurant and I think the few issues I had with the food were likely a result of coming in early in the service for Sunday because they open at 4pm on Sundays. I don't know if they run short staffed on Sunday intentionally but I think there was only the cook and server there and the server was spending a lot of her time answering the phone for to-go orders. So I think they were a bit pressed, but the service was still very good. If I go back and the Pot Stickers are made fresh I'm at 5 stars, but I did ding a star for undercooked and definitely not made fresh Pot Stickers when that was the primary draw. read more

The food is delicious! It is American Chinese, but it has more detail in the flavor... I don't know if it's fresh lemon grass, or just different herbs and seasonings but the General Tso chicken is awesome! The service was exactly how I prefer it. Check up once every five or ten minutes and give space. It definitely feels ( and seems) like the place that all the locals to the neighborhood know about and eat often. The owners knew most of the customers that came in while I enjoyed my meal. Family like ambiance. I loved it. I'll definitely be back and I hope they stay in business for a very long time. They have a $9.99 lunch special that comes with your choice of a cream cheese wonton or springroll/a soup (eggdrop, wonton, or sweet and sour), a lunch special entree and rice. We came here at an odd time, but there was no on else there, we had the place to ourselves! It's tucked away in a little strip mall in Sandy and is a little hard to see/find so it could easily be missed. Wow! #1 on Yelp??? Very disappointing in so many ways. First when you order online it says if you spend $40 you get complimentary cream cheese wontons. Not bad. Only the worker at the restaurant says you have to choose this option. I never saw the option but no big deal. Second when you make your first selection a box appears asking if you have any special requests. I have a peanut allergy so I listed no peanuts. The box only appears once so if you make multiple selections you don't get to add another note. The restaurant had a hard time figuring out that "no peanuts" was for everything. Third, the food was not good. Very disappointing. The General Tso's chicken was dry. Very little sauce which is why I presume they give you the option of ordering extra sauce for $1.50 more. Weird. The chicken lo mein was awful. No flavor, no originality. So bad I didn't eat it. The chicken kung pao was equally as bad. No spice. As a matter of fact tasted like they used the same sauce as their lo mein. For the #1 Yelp restaurant I'm thinking I need to use another food review source. read more

This little strip mall has changed businesses so many times and whenever I am in town visiting my mom we get to try the new offerings. This is an Americanized Chinese restaurant but with one exception, their dumplings are handmade and are very delicious. Great customer service, freshly made food and what is there not to love? Happy to support local businesses and hope more and more pop up around the area. For sure will be back when visiting Utah. read more

I stumbled upon this place today by accident. Its a small restaurant that had been opened for may be a month. When we went inside, I was very happy to see how clean and bright it was. The lady at the counter greeted us immediately. We ordered the Special Combination #9 (with Vegetable Shrimp, White Rice, Sesame Chicken & 2 Butterfly Shrimps), and Curry Beef #308.
