Menu on February 2025.

Overall, it was a very good experience. It was a weeknight and there were about 4-5 tables seated and a steady stream of takeout order pick ups. Only 1 server for all diners and she seemed to keep up OK. Interior design is maybe a bit better than your typical Chinese takeout place. It feels a bit dated to me. The food is a great value. Generous portions, very reasonable prices and well cooked. Try the chef specials. Highly recommend Szechuan spicy beef stew, if you can handle spicy food.

I ordered takeout and got so much delicious food. My family really enjoyed it and said they would definitely want to try them again. I really like how their website is set up. The menu online is nice because it is like the menu when you are at the restaurant We got free cream cheese, wontons with our order and four free cans of lemonade I enjoyed all of my food quite a bit. I meant to order the hot and sour soup, but accidentally ordered the egg drop soup. The soup was delicious. I added a little soy sauce to it. I am planning to get takeout again for Chinese new year. So happy to have found this place. Thank you for the delicious food.

I ordered from this restaurant through Door Dash. I ordered beef chow fun and Beijing beef. The delivery bag was very ; felt like a bag of gold. I tried the Beijing beef first and never got to the Chow Fun! The beef of the Beijing beef was very tender and the bell peppers and white onion were fresh and the sauce delicious. The steamed white rice was warm and fluffy. Combined with the beef I was hooked. Next thing I know I've finished the Beijing beef and have no room for the Chow Fun... will follow up later with the Chow Fun review. I have to say this is my nee go to for Chinese food.

Food (on the Chinese menu) is authentic. It tastes average, good thing is it's not too salty or not too oily. The ingredients are fresh. Good service and clean environment. Price is pretty reasonable.

I wasn't feeling too crazy but I knew I wanted something! I was scrolling around & saw this place on DoorDash, so I gave it a shot! Suuuuper good! I like to stay on the safe side when I order from a restaurant for the first time, especially if I'm ordering through a third party so I got the orange chicken and the chili oil wontons. The chili oil wontons were fantastic! They had a good kick that i personally feel everyone could enjoy(even those who can't handle super spicy chili oil). The orange chicken was great! It still had good crunch. It's not a sweeter orange chicken though, so if that's your vibe, this isn't the choice for you(which is totally okay). All in all, I'll definitely have to stop in next time I'm near. The chili oil wontons will keep me as a customer as I explore more on the menu :)

Family dinner for 4. Shrimp fried rice, walnut shrimp, orange chicken, moo goo gai pan, lo mein, etc.

My family was satisfied with our order and we would order here again. The 4 instead of 5 stars is just a matter of personal preference. The orange chicken is good, but we like it better elsewhere. Walnut shrimp was on point! Moo goo gai pan was good as well. The shrimp fried rice and lo mein were a touch bland, but a little soy sauce did the trick. Delivery was was fast and the food was hot and fresh! This also came with egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. We ordered a Family dinner for 4 and there were many different options!

Was craving Chinese food and found this gem on Yelp. Was seated right away on a Sunday night. Loved the orange chicken with fried rice. Great size portions and price. Will be back again!

Nice people, bland food. Kung pao is supposed to be at least medium heat. Served temp hot but just not enough flavor to go back. Sorry.

The Cajun fries were good quality fries (on the more potato rather than crispy side) but could've used more Cajun. Next time I'd ask for a side of Cajun seasoning or see if they can just put more on. The refresher was light in flavor but actually really good and legitimately refreshing! There might have even been tiny pieces of peach on the bottom, which I liked! For the boil I got a half pound of shrimp (head on) and subbed the potato for a corn and added a second corn. I got the special sauce (basically a combo of all the sauces) mild, but didn't think it tasted spicy at all. To be honest I think the sauce was just okay, a little less flavorful than expected. Maybe next time I would try medium spice level to see if it makes a difference. My bf got a half pound of shrimp (head off), half pound of crawdads, and wanted the blue crab but because it was sold out, he switched to a half pound of snow crab legs, garlic butter (seasoned), mild. He thought the sauce was good but wished it would've soaked into the meat more. Def recommend frequent dipping! Crawdads weren't bad, it was our first time eating them but offered very little meat for the work required. He was pretty disappointed with the crab legs--despite being double the price of the blue crab, almost every leg he cracked open was half hollow and had barely any meat in it. He said it was the first time in his life he's had crab legs like that! Service however was 10/10. She was super attentive, kind, and welcoming. Some of the best service I've ever had! Ambiance is casual, had cute theming similar to most seafood boil spots. Appreciated the bibs, gloves, and wipes! Overall I liked it but would tweak my order. Unfortunately, my bf said he would never go back again, but this was only his second time ever going to a seafood boil restaurant, and he's thinking it just might not be for him lol.

Tucked…read moreaway in Cottonwood Heights, it also happened to be a literal stroll across the street from where we were staying, which made it an easy yes for dinner. This isn't white-tablecloth, hushed-voice "fine dining," but the kitchen is absolutely cooking at that level. Every dish that hit the table delivered: the som tum, drunken noodles, and Thai fried rice were all standouts, with zero misses across the board. The mixed greens and golden tofu plates were legit highlights too, not just obligatory veggie options. One thing to know before you go: everything defaults to no spice unless you speak up. If you're used to true Asian spice levels, level 3 is probably your sweet spot. Level 2 was still a bit too tame for us, especially for something like the som tum that really sings with heat. Bottom line: excellent quality, generous value, and food that keeps you thinking about your next visit before you've even paid the check. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to.

Ve La Thai Fining Dining was a last minute addition to my Salt Lake City list. Located in…read moreCottonwood Heights, about 30 minutes outside the city, the restaurant is in a strip mall. Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.
