It was a rainy night and so I came in search for comfort food. This did not disappoint. I dove in head first and forgot to take a picture before I demolished most of the ramen. Tried the most popular spicy super ramen noodle soup and the flavor was good and overall satisfying. Also tried the spicy tetsu - the dipping ramen and it was interesting and had both spicy and vinegary flavor. The ramen noodles were not as bouncy and chewy as I expected and the dipping soup was not as thick so as to coat the noodles. The flavor was still pretty good. read more

This is obviously a small business-locally owned and run. I love these types of places and tend to support them before going to a larger, chain restaurant. That said, I recognize that with a smaller restaurant, there might be some kinks that larger places may not deal with. For example, fewer staff members can slow down service, etc. My experience here was pretty good-attentive server, however there were a few hiccups with the food. My friend and I ordered the Super Ramen, which comes with an egg. Neither of ours had the egg when it was brought to our table, so we asked about it and they brought them out promptly. No biggie! My friends' husband ordered the spicy ramen, after asking the server how spicy it was. The server said it wasn't too spicy at all, but it ended up having quite a kick to it. Maybe I have weak friends, or maybe the spice level was more intense than they'd expected. Unfortunately, it only got halfway eaten. Even though you order at the table through a server, you pay at the counter. It wasn't clear if we bussed our own tables or not, but we left it, assuming that they take care of things. The flavor of the ramen bowls are amazing. This place was unbeknownst to me as I normally just go to Trader Joe's. I am very sad that I have had the tastiest, well-balanced, umami filled bowl of Ramen Noodles. The sadness is not in the food, service, or venue it is in the fact as I ordered the waitress informed me that tomorrow 12/12/25 is their LAST DAY. I wish I knew about this amazing food sooner. But the tiny sliver portions of pork is what prevents this from being a 3-star. Even if you don't know how to make ramen, you can at least offer decent portions. We needed to grab a quick bite, but were unable to find parking in the parking lot of the original noodle place we wanted to try. I went in with no expectations and a hungry belly. I got the "Spicy Super Ramen" which was served with 2 slices of pork, half a tamago egg, bamboo, fish cake, nori, sprouts, green onions, and topped with a garlic spicy sauce. The broth was rich and flavorful but it wasn't really spicy at all. I personally would have liked more spice, but I also liked that the broth wasn't too overly salty. The fresh in-house noodles were a nice chewy texture which I appreciated. The pork was thinly sliced, but was juicy and tender. Personally, I would have preferred a slightly thicker cut. The soft boiled egg was not pretty, but it was still delicious and is usually my favorite topping in a ramen bowl. The main thing I disliked was that the broth wasn't hot enough and the amount of sprouts in my bowl mainly because it was just a little too much in proportion to the amount of noodles. My friend wanted to try their teriyaki pork bowl. The meat was tender and flavorful, so I did enjoy that, but not sure if it's a must try. All in all, I had a good experience here and they have pretty solid ramen, better than some places in California. If I'm in the area again, I'd like to try a different bowl of ramen. read more

Was looking for a noodle place on this cold winter night and stumbled upon samurai noodle. First of all, the noodles are why you come - homemade noodles! I ordered a hakata tonkatsu ramen, super spicy ramen, karage and edamame. The edamame was nothing to write home about. The karage had good flavor but was a little oily for my taste. The noodles were awesome. I was given a shoyu tonkatsu ramen instead of the hakata tonkatsu which was a little disappointing only because it's a house specialty. The shoyu tonkatsu was yummy tho! I always wish there were more noodles compared to condiments. as always I added a soft boiled egg which makes everything better. I also wish the charsu had been cut thicker - the slices are rather thin, but full of flavor. The super spicy wasn't overwhelmingly spicy which is hard to balance sometimes. But again the same critiques apply. With there were more noodles. Loved seeing so many people picking up take out orders. The broth is suuuuper creamy and flavorful, I do wish the spicy super was a little spicy but I'm sure there's people who couldn't take it I've never loved hard boiled eggs, like at all. This place honestly has me ordering another there so good. The pork chatsu is a little bit gritty I think, but it doesn't take away from the overall flavor, a little bit sweet and has lots of umami. Excellent!!! The best word I can use to describe the food here. Granted, I am no serious expert on the matter. Well, on food, yes. After all, you don't grow a gut like this without any real effort. But I do love ramen. That's mostly cause I grew up living on saimin. My greatest means of deciding if something is good or not is if my spousal unit approves of the food. Doesn't matter if I like the food, if she is a no go then I will not be able to eat there. That is unless I can go there by myself. Which I may do someday just so I can give a shot to eating Mount Fuji. Granted it looks pretty big, but growing up a large saimin or wonton min was big enough to feed 2-3 people and I ate it alone. We told one of the workers that there was something on the chair that needed to be wiped. The young man said ok. We looked over the menu and another man took our order. We picked our items and also told him. He said ok. While we sat another couple came in and the 1st worker went to seat them ... in the same spot that wasn't wiped down. We were disgusted. The grossness looked like slobber and saliva on the seat so if you weren't paying attention you could miss it. My husband and I promptly got up and left. The hot sauce definitely change the taste of the broth. So if you want it spicy, have the sauce on the side and try the broth before you add the sauce in.
