Amazing sushi quality. Vibes were great. We went on a Tuesday and they do specials on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, so great reasonable prices! My boys loved the playboy roll & October roll. Our server was so nice and helpful with the best recommendations. He mentioned it's his family's restaurant so he hoped we liked it. We loved it and we will be back soon!

This place was nice!! It's cute and clean and the staff is super friendly!! We got appetizers and rolls and everything was delicious! We got the gyoza and veggie tempura and got the rolls we enjoyed the: Hollywood, Dragon, TNT, Draper, Vegas, and Beach! My husband said he didn't quite like the flavor of the TNT as he could taste whatever made the flames.

OMG we've been to this place twice now and it is by far our favorite sushi! My husband has never tried Sea Urchin and now he can't get enough of it The service was Amazing, the rolls are good sized and filling and the restaurant is clean and comfy. There's not a Lot of room inside but that's shouldn't stop you from giving this place a try! It's a must now when we go to Sandy!

Pretty solid sushi for Utah. We ordered multiple rolls and shared everything. Everything was good - portions were pretty big - nothing was fishy - I was a happy overall with the food. Service was great - they were very accommodating and quick. Not the biggest restaurant so time your visit wisely. Arrived right before the lunch rush with a party of 9. We called ahead of time and the table was ready for me but we glad that we checked in before coming in.

    April Roll and California roll

We lucked out having our hotel in walking distance of Wasabi Sushi. We arrived around dinner time to a very busy night. The shopping center itself seemed pretty busy as well with active Christmas shoppers. We were greeted right away by a friendly hostess who let us know we could snag a few of the last available seats at the bar since all the tables were full. More people continued to arrive after us so I knew right away we must've picked a great spot. The sushi chefs were hard at work and we loved watching them. Our server was friendly and recommended the April Roll after we talked about what I liked. I also added a basic California roll and my son some teriyaki beef with rice. Everything came out quickly and was so good! Vibe was great and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We felt very welcomed and appreciated throughout our entire meal. Great spot if in the area.

    Seafood yakisoba
    Manda H.

A fine sushi spot with plenty of options, plus hot sake and beers to choose from. I tried the seafood yakisoba, and while the staff told me it would come with tuna, salmon, and scallops, it arrived with salmon, scallops, and shrimp instead. He was just mistaken or maybe they change it up day to day? It was cooked well, though on the sweeter side, but definitely hit the spot on a cold day. The place has a very casual vibe, perfect for a quick bite before heading out.

    Pepper Jack

Placed a pickup order for the pepper jack and salmon teriyaki. It was really mid. Also I arrived on time to pick up it up but they told me it would be a 15 min wait. They gave me a free Coke 0 which was nice but the food was really bad. Usually salmon skin is the best part but the one on mine was basically inedible. Everything is barely seasoned. The fried vegetables are also inedible they literally just taste like the oil they were fried in. Super disappointing would not recommend. Overpriced too. Look at the food and ask yourself if you would pay $24.50 for that...

    Rainbow Roll w/sashimi
    Mark F.

Packed and I see why. Wasabi is a no nonsense sushi joint with the staple rolls and more on the menu. The prose is right with a few beers and sake choices. More than a strip mall eatery this is nice alternative to high end sushi bars. The Sashimi Sampler $47.99 comes with 2 soups and a Rainbow Roll. Since this is my usual order I went with it. The fish was delish but the salmon portion was very small. All and all worth it for the almost $50 sushi dinner. The atmosphere was middle of the road. Bring your family or long term relationship but not a romantic or first date night. I'll be back and order the same thing for a solid sushi experience.

    White Dragon
    Janice L.

Service was really great! Everyone was so nice and my food and drink came out quickly. I ordered the white dragon roll, it was pretty good, but just too much sauce. I transferred the rolls to a different plate off the bat and tried to dab off some of the sauce, it ended up soaking the rice to the point where the roll was falling apart towards the last few pieces. The staff asked me how the food was and I gave them my honest view. I appreciate that they said they would take feedback into account! My total was $16.23 for 1 roll inc tax & 20% tip. It looks like the Tues & Weds night HH discounts up to 40% off here are a killer deal. I would try Wasabi sushi again.

    TNT roll
    Kimmy M.

I always love bringing first-timers to Wasabi. Even though it's a small, local sushi place, it never disappoints. My date was running late and I think they thought I was being stood up so they very sweetly brought me edamame on the house while I waited. Kwon, the host, and our server regularly checked on us and came over to talk with us. I decided to get the TNT roll this time without the shrimp since my date was allergic. Kwon suggested replacing it with grilled vegetables. It was amazing! Great service and great food.

I had heard tales of the infamous Happy Hour at Wasabi and finally got to try it for myself. Discounted specialty rolls on a Tuesday night? Don't mind if I do. We shared the TNT, Sunset, and a roll made special by the chef. All three were fantastic! And for as busy as the restaurant was, we were served very quickly. As you can imagine, there is definitely a crowd on happy hour night, so be prepared to wait.

    Octopus Sashimi
    Desiree B.

Wow so yummy, this sushi is very good. I had the TNT Roll, Spicy Scallop hand roll, Octopus sashimi, and last but not least my absolute favorite Sweet Shrimp. Oh and a glass or two of Pinot Noir. The food was so good and the best Sweet Shrimp I have ever had, it was stuffed with something amazing did I ask no because I was just enjoying the flavors. The TNT roll comes to you on fire, it smells and taste beautiful. The octopus was so good and the hand roll was very flavorful. I really can't say enough about the sweet shrimp. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I would definitely come back if I lived here. I am just here for. Work trip but might go back again before I leave.

A gentleman finally got up to go strike a match under someone's year end. The young female server comes over half grumpily with a slight wannabe smile, and takes our drink order. She brings most of the drinks fairly quickly. But doesn't even attempt to ask if we're ready to order and we've been there 25ish minutes waiting?! The grill across from us got sat after us and by the time she came back to see if we were ready to order, they were done with the show and eating. *InsertEyeRoll*. She took our orders, repeating them and went on her way and shortly returned with our soup and salad. A few more minutes go by just barely before our cook shows up. He gets asking about everyone's orders and meat preference. Awesome. He starts his show, as always... scrambled eggs and rice first right?! Unfortunately, out of 8 of us 7 ordered fried rice, one steamed. Server brought out steamed rice to the one, and cook dishes out 5 bowls of fried rice. Two of us question where our rice was. So they have to prep and cook in the kitchen. Like WTAF?! But whatever... Cook was good, but not overly funny. He didn't even use the funny oil peeing boy (IYKYK) which my 9yo old always gets excited about. Food was cooked just right IMO but server never came back to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. They don't have yum yum sauce it's something much runnier which was disappointing. After the cook was done, they were practically rushing us out, by picking up plates, offering boxes, and setting new clean dishwater near the grill. I'm glad that they are efficient, but where's my server? Where's my water & wine refill? For a Friday evening and NOT very busy, I was really bummed for how horrible our experience and service was. This is one of the best teppanyaki restaurants around. This server didn't do her job and our last 5 star experience turned to a 3 star and was underwhelming sadly.

Sushi, Gyoza, and Tempura, Oh My! A Tsunami of Flavor in South Jordan…read more If you're ever looking for a meal that's so good it makes you question your life choices (like why you didn't order more), Tsunami in South Jordan, Utah, is the place to go. My taste buds had a wild ride, and frankly, I'm not sure they've recovered yet. Let's start with the gyoza, which was as close to perfection as I've ever seen. These dumplings were practically holding a therapy session on my plate, saying, "It's okay, you don't need to share us." Crispy on the bottom, tender on the top, and served with a dipping sauce that I can only assume was brewed from the tears of angels. Next, we moved on to the sushi, which could only be described as the sushi equivalent of a red carpet event. The roll looked so perfect I almost felt bad eating it... almost. But then, I took a bite, and all those feelings of guilt went out the window. This sushi roll had layers of flavor that unraveled like a plot twist in a telenovela. Now, onto the tempura. You know how sometimes you get tempura and it's just a greasy mess? Not here. The tempura was light, crispy, and had the kind of crunch that makes you feel like you're in a satisfying ASMR video. I felt like a food critic from a fancy magazine as I dipped each piece into the sauce, which was so good I'm convinced it has magical properties. Overall, Tsunami is the kind of place that leaves you full but also slightly panicked because you realize you have to wait until the next visit to experience this level of food-induced happiness again. So, if you find yourself in South Jordan and have an appetite for deliciousness, don't miss out on this culinary wave of awesomeness. Just be prepared to get hooked, because one visit won't be enough! Had it not been for Natasha our experience would have been subpar Tsunami is Lucky to have her.
