My friend told me about this omakase that's only available at the Midvale location of Itto sushi, so I decided to try it out. They definitely selected the freshest sushi. Each course is beautifully presented. The handcrafted nigiri were amazing. One of them melted in my mouth! The sea urchin and toro were especially outstanding--each bite was rich and luxurious. The service was great. Each staff was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through each dish with explanations of the ingredients and preparation. I had an amazing experience. It is very expensive. This seating lasted about 1 hour and had 16 courses (approximately 4-5 starter courses, 10ish nigiri courses, and 1 dessert). The seating takes place in a private room aside from the rest of the restaurant. For about $100 a person, I thought the meal was extremely worth it. The head chef thoroughly explained every dish in detail. All courses tasted good and I would definitely recommend this for even the beginner sushi or fish lover. I love Itto Sushi. They offer gluten free rolls and take real precautions when preparing them. They can make almost any roll gluten free, and I haven't found another sushi place that matches that level of flexibility. The service is phenomenal. The staff is attentive, kind, knows the menu well, and is always happy to answer questions. I also love how much they've expanded. I went here for lunch with some people from my work. We got gyoza to start and it was delicious. It was really soft and the flavor was great. We also go the stairs to heaven to share which comes with five pieces of nigiri. I had the toro and the salmon. I had asked the people I was with what toro was and the waitress heard me and came over and explained it to me. It's the stomach of the bluefin tuna, so it is more fatty. It was so delicious and literally melted in my mouth. The salmon was also very good. I had the playboy and it was good! One of my coworkers ordered the firebird. They bring it out wrapped in tinfoil and light the plate on fire. I tried one of the pieces and it creates a smoky flavor. It also cooks the salmon a little bit. It was really good. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food. I was really impressed by how the waitress went above and beyond to answer our questions. They serve Diet Coke. We were looking for sushi in SLC and found that this place was awarded the best sushi in SLC in 2022! Service was quick and friendly. The interior is cute and casual. For food, we had miso soup, Romeo and Juliet roll, Las Vegas roll, Hokkaido roll, and the aburi stairs to heaven. The miso soup was very good, usually that's how we can tell the sushi is solid. The Romeo and Juliet was an interesting concept, although I'm not sure coconut shrimp works for me in sushi. Las Vegas roll was a standard fried roll, but it kept falling apart as we ate it. The Hokkaido roll had a nice torched flavor. The Aburi stairs to heaven was the highlight for me - each piece of nigiri was very flavorful. Wow this was the fastest service we've ever had. We ordered 6 rolls, an appetizer, and soup and I swear we were out of there in under 30 minutes. We love that they do daily specials that are 20% off, the hand roll was a favorite. The tuna was so fresh and flavorful. The scallop dream was another surprise winner on the night, it was just the most unique of the rolls we ordered. Maddie was a very nice server and super quick. I've been to a few other Itto Sushi's and this location is EASILY my favorite! I already knew I liked the sushi, but this place had the best service and vibe. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, we were very impressed! It was pretty crowded on a Friday night and had a good atmosphere with good lighting and music inside. I ordered something new and got the Firebird roll since it was on the 20% off specials list, so amazing!! I loved it and it was the perfect spice level for me (which is not too much since I'm a wimp haha!) My boyfriend got the Itto Special, which wasn't what he was expecting but he liked it! I've been here a few times and every time the food is superb. The miso soup is lovely. The dandelion roll has a sweet taste to it which was a nice balance with our Titanic Roll which is more tangy. Both were amazing but I think I liked the Titanic roll a little more. read more

The gyoza was overfries and burned. The salad had a soy based dressing rather than the typical sesame ginger dressing in Japanese restaurants. The chirashi was essentially sashimi over white rice. One of my daughter's nurses recommended Itto in passing so I brought my husband to their Fort Union location to give it a try. We were seated immediately and the staff was quick in taking our order. We opted to try their okonomiyaki app, two negitoro hand rolls, and two orders of their Itto traditional nigiri set. The hand rolls arrived first and we were told to only use a little soy sauce with them. The rolls were delicious and you could tell the fish was fresh. Next came the okonomiyaki. I tried several rolls and enjoyed all of them, but what really stole the show was the nigiri. The nigiri all comes with a higher quality wasabi and a dipping sauce. I tried several of the seared nigiri, and it was just enough to bring out the natural oils and give it a hint of the smoky fire flavor. When you try the Toro (it is worth every penny), take your time and let it literally melt in your mouth to allow the flavor to coat your tongue and savor the mouthfeel this creates. You will not be disappointed. The Dracula roll was also fun. When you open the latch and swing open the casket, you get a burst of smoke that excites your taste buds, and then when you taste it, you're thrown by the sweet ginger sauce. read more

We came here for dinner and the food was in between. We got a few nigiri and sushi rolls. The fish was pretty good and not a fishy taste. The only thing I didn't like was every roll I got had a wet sauce that made the sushi a little soggy and tastes somewhat the same. I would come back for sushi that doesn't have sauce to it. I would give this 3.5 stars. I cant ask for too much, trying to get asian food in Utah when coming from the Bay, but was already feeling homesick. Got a bento box, and I kind of liked the chicken teriyaki--it definitely wasn't your traditional teriyaki, on the drier side and seemed to have a hint of curry? Tonkatsu was good, but tempura needed work--batter is definitely not tempura batter.
