By far, some of the best food in Utah. I was shocked to see only a 4.1 on Yelp. Google has a 4.7. Honestly, 5/5. The service was great and we only waited about 10 minutes for a party of two during a Saturday dinner rush. The gyoza appetizer was delicious. I asked the waitress if it was made fresh in house and she said yes. I could tell right away when they came out that they were, in fact, homemade gyoza. They had the perfect amount of pork filling and the outside was soft and doughy. The dipping sauce added a much desired flavor for the filling. I loved that they added cabbage, carrot, and green onion on the top. The Miyazaki roll was truly delicious. It had the perfect amount of spice, topped with generous wagyu, and filled with the perfect crispy shrimp. The jalapeño aioli was so creamy and delicious. The sable silk roll was also a flavor combination I've never experienced before. Had the perfect amount of heat and sweetness. I loved the chili oil on top as well as the fish. It was melt in your mouth. The unagi was seared to perfection and was also so soft. The snow crab inside was delicious as well. All the flavors worked together and their sushi was truly some of the most flavorful I've ever had in Utah. Miyazaki truly has incredible quality fish that they use for their sushi. The Wagyu medallions were out of this world. Cooked to perfection and seasoned exactly how you would like. There was so much flavor in this dish. I truly cannot wait to come back soon. I have been to this restaurant enough times and have tried many different menu items to know this place is the real deal! Everything has been freshly prepared, customized to my liking, and tasty! I love that the rolls are unique but the standard rolls you get everywhere else. If I may suggest a few the Chili Hamachi and Salmon Lemonade are A+! Now on to the staff. We've eaten here several times, including peak and off hours. We've never been disappointed!! The fish is always fresh. We usually order sushi along with some rolls. The Kaguya roll is excellent. The service is good and the restaurant has a decidedly cosmopolitan atmosphere. Considering Utah is hours away from the nearest ocean the prices are reasonable. We will continue to eat here and I recommend this place without hesitation. An added plus is they have a fairly big non fish menu if you're going with people that don't want "sushi". I can't comment on the other offerings as we only get fish here but all things considered I'd be surprised if it wasn't good as well. read more

I have celiacs, and they were so accommodating- they don't have a gluten free menu, but almost all the menu items can be made gluten free, and they have gluten free soy sauce! The chef also made us special spicy tuna cut rolls, which wasn't on the menu, and it was so good. They have a good list of desserts, and the Crème Brûlée is gluten free! The don was a bowl of crispy beef, potatoes, carrots, and rice with a flavorful sauce. The dish was unlike anything I had had before, and every bite was amazing. I recently visited Miyazaki with a friend, looking forward to what we hoped would be a premium Japanese dining experience. We ordered the 5 oz "Japanese A5 Wagyu" for $110, two sushi rolls, miso soups, and salads (which, oddly, weren't included with any entrée). My friend had a ribeye. Let me be clear: what Miyazaki served was not Japanese A5 Wagyu. True A5 Wagyu should be rich, tender, and melt in your mouth. What I received was grainy, overly fatty, and completely unpalatable--I couldn't even swallow one piece. My friend's ribeye was flash-cooked and just as underwhelming. When I brought up the issue, the "chef" brought out a cut of meat (without any certification) insisting it was authentic Japanese Wagyu. It felt like an attempt to salvage a lie, and frankly, it was insulting. For a restaurant that uses the name Miyazaki--a region renowned for authentic Wagyu--this was a total betrayal of customer trust. I left feeling deceived, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. Do yourself a favor: avoid Miyazaki and spend your money where quality and honesty actually matter. read more

Right at the entrance of the mall so it's a great spot to grab a bite after a bit of shopping. Prices are pretty good as well for high quality sushi. Decently sized menu with something for everyone. Their Gyoza was well stuffed and perfectly cooked. Also got the takoyaki which are savory, octopus filled fried balls, a common Japanese street food. Never had it before but I was sold, pretty to look at but most importantly it had great flavor. The salmon lemonade roll was a perfect, "light" roll for me. The name is fitting, the lemon is caramelized and some of the sugar granules could be found on the bottom of the plate. Kind of a sweet savory roll, but really a close sibling the common sunrise roll at most restaurants. Next was the Kaguyehime roll, pretty simple roll but was very flavorful. Something I haven't really seen in the area before is freshly sliced ginger served with the sushi, definitely appreciated that since it is much more flavorful and a better palate cleanser that what you typically find a most sushi restaurants. They also offer freshly grated wasabi, so if you've been wanting to try the real thing this is the place to do it. We got their Ube cheesecake which was probably the only disappointing part of the meal. Ube flavor was not very strong so it was mostly just a regular cheesecake which is fine. One of the raspberries was starting to mold but so keep an eye on out of season fruit. Restaurant ambiance and decoration is great, low light and intimate. Service was also great, very attentive. Didn't see an alcohol menu but they do have a bar so sure they have a signature cocktail menu. Their mocktail menu actually looked pretty good and reasonably priced, would probably try it next time. In summary, I'd highly recommend coming here. Great sushi with quality ingredients, great service and ambiance. Will definitely be back in the future! read more

Let me start with saying the food and attentiveness from the Manager brought this review from a 3 to a 4. We had a reservation at 6:45 and got sat immediately and ordered drinks. However, it took 30 minutes for two cocktails and one beer to get to us. The server didn't check in once or let us know that the drinks were delayed. We saw the bartender walk away from the bar and not return. We were then told that he was "slammed". Upon receiving our drinks 40 minutes later, one of our cocktails showed up warm and tasted horrible. The manager came over and offered us a free appetizer and to remake the drink. We do appreciate her willingness to rectify the issue. Be warned for lychee martini lovers - the drink is not at all a classic lychee martini and more a yuzu-tini with one lychee at the bottom of the drink From there on out our dinner came out at a nice pace and was delicious. We ordered 4 rolls and the sashimi plate along with the ceviche, calamari and cucumber salad. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, we would've liked a few more taro chips were was ultimately satisfied. I didn't care too much for the calamari but that was a personal preference as I don't love thick slices. Our rolls were fresh and delicious, they had a nice spin on the classic rolls. The cucumber salad wasn't anything to write home about but was good. Ultimately, the service was lacking but the manager did a lovely job at trying to rectify the issues. I am not sure what the bartender was doing but they need to relearn the drinks and how to manage their time considering it was not busy in terms of drinks. We've been here several times. This was the first one not sitting at the bar. Mario took care of us well. We got a tiny number of nigiri. They were as good as always. Excellent fish and Uni. rice that is not overly compacted. It's always very good. If you are getting sushi, and like nigiri, being at the bar is always a good idea. You can ask the sushi chefs questions and they can come up with interesting things to get. Today was about other dishes. I had not had grilled unagi before going to Tokyo. I loved it there. What they have here is every bit as good. It was perfectly cooked and flaky. We also got the black garlic ramen. While it was very good, it doesn't match the best. We came to celebrate Galentines with the ladies and they was 23 of us total. We sat in a private room which was nice. The plan was to eat a nice lunch and exchange gifts with everyone. King salmon sashimi was ok. It was served on a plate I'm with orange slices and not lemon. I tried to just eat the salmon by itself, but the cut was a little funky. I ordered the hamachi crudo and there was so much olive oil on the plate. You can see my fish swimming in it! If it was a sauce, it definitely lacked all the flavors. The sake flight was a joke. It was $30 for 3 shot glasses but you can pick your selection. I preferred the cold fruity milkier one compared to the black and gold. Nigiri platter was the best. Half of the party were hungover and ordered ramen. They all said that it lacked flavor and asked for extra ingredients: chili oil, sriracha, peppers and unfortunately most left their bowls fill when we left! The worst part of this was that they had FAKE Sriracha and they watered it down. You can swirl that bottle gently and watch the entire thing just follow like it's just water inside. That's pretty embarrassing when you're paying a hefty price to eat here. I asked our server twice to clear my plates because they were stacked up next to me and barely had any room on my part of the table. They never came to clean plates, but were quick to take our payment and not refill any of our drinks. It's a little overpriced for mediocre food. Highly suggest trying other nearby restaurants since it's fashion place mall. read more

Clean and beautiful inside, this is definitely a place to go if you're going on a date, a business lunch, or celebrating an event. There's a side room with a tree that looks particularly inviting. It is definitely somewhere to come when you have the time to sit down and relax. The hostess was nice and brought out my order in a reasonable amount of time. As far as the roll, it was underwhelming. Although beautiful, the flavor was not as vibrant as I'm used to and I was unpleasantly surprised that part of the roll was cooked as I prefer raw sushi since it has a silkier texture compared to when some fish is heated and becomes more flaky and less tender. Absolutely amazing! Sushi is cut well with excellent freshness and such large cuts for the Nigiri. The steaks are perfect. I had the privilege of dining here and the service is first class. The ambience is amazing The decoration is very traditional Japanese with some modern hints as well as the music, which you will recommend if you were a fan of Japanese pop culture. We started with calamari which was pretty decent, not something to wow about and could be better! Our sushi selections was the Hayao roll which had a nice citrus slice on top, and Miyakazi rolls that had wagyu beef and both were delicious! We also had one hand roll of the crispy salmon skin which was also good, the skin was extra crispy. We ended up finishing all of our food and finished off with an ice cold Sapporo on tap. I really dislike writing negative reviews and really wanted to like this place but for the price, 3 stars is generous. This place looks beautiful and seems quite classy and the decor is very well done. I was so excited to try it. We walked in on a Sunday evening around 6 PM and were seated promptly at a comfortable booth. So far so good but things go downhill from here. Our server delivered water quickly and offered to give us a few minutes to decide. Much longer than a few minutes later, he returned to take our orders. We ordered a few cocktails, a sushi roll to start and our entrees. Not long after, we got our sushi roll and my entree but still no drinks. We had to remind him that my SO's entree was missing. When it did arrive, it wasn't right. He ordered the chicken katsu curry but there was no curry sauce to be found. Thankfully, he did check on us and brought a side of curry. Still no drinks at this point. He then asked if we wanted ginger and wasabi (why not just include it with the sushi rolls to begin with?) and we said yes, but it never arrived. We were about halfway through our entrees when the cocktails finally came. They were both very good and probably the best tasting part of the meal. Our server dropped the check, without making eye contact, thanked us and quickly walked away. He seemed pretty apathetic throughout so this was not terribly surprising. We definitely did not feel like any sort of priority to this person. All of the food looked beautiful and the fish did taste fresh but that was about it. The word of the evening was bland. The curry was very bland and too sweet. It did not taste at all like Japanese curry should. The Chirashi Don was good but not great. The sauce it was served with was just okay and there wasn't enough of it. All in all, this is one of those places where the food looks very beautiful and impressive but doesn't taste very good and it is quite expensive. I think that it could be really great and I truly hope they get these issues sorted but for us, returning is a hard pass. read more

This place is conveniently located at the Fashion Place mall and for lunch, it wasn't crazy crowded. Service was okay good and the food was also okay good haha. It has good flavors but nothing from the meal stood out to us. We ordered steak Takiki and 5 sushi rolls...a big lunch for just my husband and me. The food seemed to be cleanly prepared and no funky bathroom rush experience afterwards. We started the evening by trying to go to Cheesecake Factory next door. Unfortunately there was a 2.5 hour wait, so we thought we would try Miyazaki out. Upon entering and telling the guy at the front desk we had originally tried to go to Cheesecake Factory, he said " well, you'll be thank ful, because we are a much better restaurant". I loved the confidence, and this got me a excited! It didn't take long to get us seated, and when I saw the menu, I was actually surprised at how small it was. There really weren't very many rolls to choose from. I saw this as a good thing! So many sushi places have dozens and dozens of roll that it's hard to choose what you want. Someone in our party asked if they could make a Vegas roll, despite it not being on the menu, and they said that would be a problem. All of the rolls we tried were top notch! But to be honest, the best one we had was the special ordered Vegas roll. It was truly one of the best rolls I've ever had. We ended up ordered like 2 more for the table. The service was also awesome. Our waitress was attentive, but not overly so. She even managed to keep my drink filled without me hardly noticing. The rolls here are certainly not cheap though. They are all on the higher end of the scale, but it's worth it! Elegant interior! Friendly service and calming atmosphere. The menu is not as long as the other places. The ceviche seem small, but it's a deep bowl, perfect for sharing. The taro chip is a unique touch. I personally love the lemon salmon roll. I'm surprising that it's sweet but not overpowering the salmon. It's very refreshing. This could be my favorite roll of the year! As for the sushi platter, there are 3 pieces of each kind, total of 5 different kinds, 15 pieces. They're so fresh and no fishy smell at all. I love them all. The salmon, tuna and yellowtail are naked, but the other 2 kinds of fish has different sauce as the topping. For the price close to $50, I don't think it's that expensive based on Utah standards. I'll definitely find excuses to come here again. This is perfect for date night or come here with close friends. Very expensive lunch. When deciding on a place to meet for lunch sushi isn't our first choice. However, after a round of games at the electric game box, we decided to go next door to have lunch at Miyazaki. There were only a handful of customers in the dining area, yet we still had to wait for a table. The waiter brought the menus and filled our water glasses, but didn't greet us or ask us if we wanted anything to drink. When he came to take our order we had no clue what to order especially for a nine year old. We asked for suggestions on the menu items that were cooked. The waiter's response was ummmm... the waiter was NOT HELPFUL at any point of the meal. Mediocre service not something you would expect from an upscale restaurant. I just ended up ordering the 7oz Wagyu sirloin steak. What he brought out was about six or seven very small pieces of Medallions. I didn't order the medallions I ordered the steak. The medallions were cold over cooked and dry. It's a good thing there was a little bit of gravy, definitely needed it. My daughter ordered the salmon salad. It came with raw salmon something she was not happy with. If you are a true fan of Tiramisu don't order the Guava Tiramisu it doesn't by any stretch of your imagination resemble a tiramisu Guava or any other kind. As I said to everyone at the table.... My husband and I made reservations to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We had a fine celebration. I was super excited about the whole thing. We were treated to excellent and attentive service. A big shout out to Joseph! We met him the first time and he added so much light and positivity that I was well pleased to see him again for our special celebration. There was three people in our party and as we were celebrating such a glorious occasion we did it up real nice. There were some Hits and some misses. You can't please all of the people all of the time but you can still give it your best. Miyazaki definitely delivers across the board. 5 star freshness and atmosphere. The only downside was not getting to try the pink and tonic signature cocktail. They were out so that was a bummer but the other two cocktails that I tried were fun and delicious.
