I really wanted to like Arigato but the food fell short for me. I didn't realize it was a Latin-Japanese fusion menu until we looked through the menu...it seems like the Japanese flavor influence is underrepresented. Truthfully, every item we tried was lacking flavor elements. The jalapeño bombs didn't have enough flavor or filling, the sushi pizza was deep fried instead of pan fried so it just tasted like oil, and the dragon ball just reminded me of a hush puppy. The staff was nice but not super attentive. We ordered three items at the start and only one came out... it took a while to get a server to come back so we could ask about the other two. I'm glad I tried Arigato but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Arigato Sushi is a fantastic Japanese and South American fusion restaurant. The Sushi Burger was essentially a delicious deep fried hand roll. French fries with sushi is actually a terrific combination. Jaw dropping lemonade concoctions, that were tasty to the last sip. This is a small 'mom and pop' establishment, so you need to be patient with the speed of the staff. Not a place to go for a quick in and out bite to eat. They recently expanded the dining room and it looks amazing! We will be sure to come back again soon.

We popped in for dinner and decided to try what they recommended. They were very friendly and the food came out quick. Nice twist between Latin and Japanese. Our factories include plantains topped rolls. It was pretty unique and tasty. The seating was comfortable and brightly lit. We got to see how everything was beautifully plated.

Value for money: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Food Quality: 4 Customer Service: 4 Look and Feel (Ambiance): 3.5 (renovation during business hours was distracting) Thank you, Come Again?: 4 Arigato Sushi offers a fun and modern take on sushi with creative fusion flavors at an affordable price. For our appetizer, we went with gyoza, and I appreciated that we had the option to choose between pan-seared or deep-fried. I personally prefer the pan-seared style. We also ordered the sushi pizza, which featured a crispy rice base topped with salmon, avocado, a small stack of seaweed, droplets of spicy mayo, and a drizzle of unagi sauce. It was a unique and tasty combination. For sushi rolls, we tried the Crazy Philly Roll, which had salmon, cream cheese, surimi krab, and a seaweed mix on top, as well as a citrusy white fish ceviche roll layered over a salmon and avocado base, bringing a bright flavor. The service was friendly and welcoming, with our server checking in on us frequently. However, I recommend that the staff become more familiar with the menu ingredients. When I asked about a particular ingredient, my server wasn't sure and didn't check with the sushi chef for confirmation. I also asked whether the crab in the sushi was real or imitation (surimi) and was incorrectly told it was real. Since I have a crustacean allergy, I actually prefer surimi, and I was able to identify it myself and eat it safely. For customers with food allergies, accurate ingredient information is crucial, and I hope the staff improves in this area. Despite the minor issue with ingredient awareness, Arigato Sushi delivers fusion sushi that fills you up without breaking the bank.

Great location near 7000 S and redwood a small place with probably only 6- four tops. Decorated cute and seemed clean. Very nice couple that runs the place. Gave us free cup of gyoza soup to try which she said is seasonal. It's a fun menu but the sushi rolls lacked flavor for us.

I went in with my family. It was late at night about an hour before they closed. The location is close to my house. The space isn't huge but it was well lit and I felt comfortable there while we were there eating there were a few takeout orders but no other tables that late. I felt like the service was friendly and helpful. I got a specialty nonalcoholic drink that I enjoyed a lot and I would order it again. They called it a Mojito when I ordered it, I did not see it on the menu. It is really delicious sweet slightly tart and loaded with delicious candied ginger, garnished with mint. Flavorful and refreshing. I definitely recommend trying one of their specialty drinks. I ordered the mixed seafood tempura And it came with lots of different types of seafood as well as shrimp and some vegetables. It did not come with a sauce, but they have soy sauce at the table table so I used that the texture of the tempura was crunchy and I liked how it tasted. I also ordered a pork Bao bun. The flavor was savory with a hint of sweet. The bun was fluffy and delicious, and it had fresh mint inside that complemented the other flavors. I really liked it a whole lot and I am going to go back to try the other two Bao one is shrimp and the other one is a fried whitefish. Honestly, it was the best Bao I think I have ever had and I have tried Bao At many different places. I also ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The noodles were good, and they seemed very fresh. I don't know if they make their own or not. The broth was fine. It is served with Tonkatsu pork, and comes with a delicious egg the Ramen was unique, and also had thin cut pieces of celery that I liked a lot. It added a crunch and a freshness to the noodles and broth. My family got yakisoba and a firecracker sushi roll. Unfortunately neither of them were thrilled with their food. Honestly though it was late so mood may have played a role in how they felt about the meal. The yakisoba is unique and different from any yakisoba I have had at other restaurants. it tasted delicious I did not get a chance to taste the sushi. When you go in, you scan the QR code for the menu I think it is like Latin Japanese fusion, so there are a lot of unique rolls on the menu. I am looking forward to going back and trying a few other things, especially the other Bao. Thank you for the delicious food and kind service.

I forgot what this is called. My sis loved it. Had plantains in it and she said the crispy shrimp was so good, she'd order just that.

I'll preface this with... it's hard for me to be impressed by sushi. Especially in UT. I have my go to places. This is a small local joint, the inside was decorated very hip and stylish. It was clean. But it is small. Service was good enough, the server was pleasant and gave me and my sis a complimentary soup with dumpling. That was my favorite part of the meal. Their concept is Japanese/venezuelan fusion... so some of their dishes have a Venezuelan flair (like plantains in their rolls). The Sushi was good but for the price, I would go to one of my go to spots over this. It wasn't very memorable for me.

genuinely very yummy sushi! i ended up taking some home as i wasn't expecting so much for the price that it was! the man who served me was really nice and asked about my experience eating there, and everything is really nicely decorated. the price id say is fairly decent with how expensive everything is becoming, so a college student like me could eat there every now and then for sure. id say my only complaint was the music was covers of really awesome songs that sounded like generic corporate music you'd hear in the back of a google ad lol.

I was so impressed by the customer service and quality of the food here! Everything was presented beautifully and tasted amazing! Ownership was there and they are so sweet and so kind! The restaurant is quite small, but feels so quaint and intimate! This is a perfect spot to stop in and grab some lunch and for date night!

Some of the best sushi I've had. Unique dishes and everyone in our party of six was impressed with what they had.

Arigato has great service with a creative menu. The Sushi hot dog was very unique, of our group of 3 one loved it, one liked it, and one said it was too over seasoned. We also had the Arigato roll- very good. The Utah roll was good. And the spicy tuna roll was a spicy tuna roll. If we are in the area we would come back, but wouldn't necessarily go out of our way.

Found this little gem while getting tools at Harbor Freight. It's a new sushi restaurant. Clean, friendly service, great food! My husband got the Las Vegas roll and dragon roll. I had Samurai roll. I'm excited to go back.

The staff doesn't judge us when we have ordered PAST a concerning amount of rolls, so that's a plus. All jokes aside, this is our favorite sushi place and I think everyone should try it. We have eaten so much here, that at times, we are full for days! It's hard to stop when the food is that good.

I wasn't expecting much from a sushi spot in a strip mall, so call me pleasantly surprised that…read moresushi restaurant far surpassed my expectations! It's too nice to be considered a hole in the wall, so let's call it a hidden gem. We started with the miso soup (a must have in the winter months) and shishito peppers, both were excellent. The peppers were a little sweeter than expected but the flavor went excellent with a cold Japanese beer. Our mains included two spicy specialty rolls (twist and shout, and another) as well as a few types of nigiri. All was fantastic, especially the Black Sea Bream. I would absolutely stop here again, and you should too!

I used to be a big fan of Ika. I've brought countless friends here, I've raved about this place…read more Now I'm here to correct that mistake. The food quality has been slipping for months. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. That ends now. Today, we came as a group of five to celebrate my friend. What should have been a memorable evening became one of the most infuriating dining experiences I've had in years. After we sat down, our waitress was nowhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Even when we saw her, we flagged her down 3-4 times and were still ignored. I had to physically get up and chase someone down, and still waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our order. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress never once asked me or my friend's mom for our drink order- completely skipped over us. And when drinks did come out, she brought the wrong one to my friend's mom. When we asked for water refills. She filled two glasses out of five and walked off, when my glass was near empty. She then dropped a plate on our table. Moments later, I reached for the food and she snatched it back saying it was for another table. Rude doesn't begin to cover it. We asked for an extra spoon, a completely normal request, and it was met with a dirty look, as if we had asked for something outrageous. When I asked for extra ginger, she placed it at the farthest corner of the table. Whether intentional or not, it felt extremely careless and rude. We ordered uni nigiri, which is not a cheap order. It arrived without seaweed. I've ordered uni nigiri many times here, and it's always come with seaweed. When I flagged it, they didn't remake it, just shoved the seaweed under the rice. An insult to a $20+ piece of nigiri. Throughout all of this, this waitress had a visible attitude toward every reasonable request. What made it worse is that I'm Asian myself, and it was clear she was specifically singling out me and my friend's mom above everyone else at the table. The dismissiveness, the hostility, the microaggressions felt pointed and deliberate. I can only call it what it is: racism and sexism. No one should have to feel targeted at a restaurant they've loyally supported for years. Ika has lost a longtime champion. I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from setting foot in this place. Save your money, your time, and your celebration, and go literally anywhere else. ***Update*** I'd like to clarify a few things since the facts were misrepresented by your response. Funny you bring up my arrival time as if that somehow discredits me. I let my group know I would be a few minutes late, and it was not even close to being an hour. What matters is that after I sat down, our entire group waited 10-15 minutes waving down staff and being repeatedly ignored. I then got up and spoke to a different staff member who was filling ginger by the bar, not even our assigned waitress, and she had to find someone else to help us. That is not "flagging rudely", that is a group of paying customers desperately trying to get basic service. Again, there were only three tables including us. You're welcome to review your security footage to verify this. You claim you were watching closely, but if you were running a restaurant, I find it hard to believe you had the bandwidth to monitor our table that carefully. If anything, that explains everything: you were short staffed, your team was stretched thinly, and your regular customers paid the price for it. That is a management failure, not a customer problem. You also never addressed how long the waitress took to take our orders, never asking me for my drink order, bringing my friend's mom the wrong drink, making a disgusted face when we asked for an extra spoon, dropping the wrong dish on our table and rudely snatching it away, and placing the ginger at the farthest end of the table. Funny how none of that made it into your response. Most importantly, you said nothing about your waitress's sexist behavior toward me and my friend's mother. We were singled out, dismissed, and treated with hostility that the rest of our table did not experience. That was the most egregious part of our visit and you chose to completely ignore it. The uni argument is not worth debating. Seaweed in nigiri is a global standard. Doubling down on that is just embarrassing. I even called that evening to provide this feedback directly, and was told the manager was not available and would call me back the next day. That never happened. Instead of having a conversation and being willing to listen, you chose to come onto Yelp and make this a personal attack against me. Our group was only there because of my recommendation. I was your advocate. That ends now, and so does any business I would have ever sent your way. Your response has only confirmed what kind of establishment this is. So as you said best, goodbye!

Very disappointed in tonight's service. Sat at the grill within 5 minutes of entering. Great! But…read morethe server never came around to get our drink order. A gentleman finally got up to go strike a match under someone's year end. The young female server comes over half grumpily with a slight wannabe smile, and takes our drink order. She brings most of the drinks fairly quickly. But doesn't even attempt to ask if we're ready to order and we've been there 25ish minutes waiting?! The grill across from us got sat after us and by the time she came back to see if we were ready to order, they were done with the show and eating. *InsertEyeRoll*. She took our orders, repeating them and went on her way and shortly returned with our soup and salad. A few more minutes go by just barely before our cook shows up. He gets asking about everyone's orders and meat preference. Awesome. He starts his show, as always... scrambled eggs and rice first right?! Unfortunately, out of 8 of us 7 ordered fried rice, one steamed. Server brought out steamed rice to the one, and cook dishes out 5 bowls of fried rice. Two of us question where our rice was. So they have to prep and cook in the kitchen. Like WTAF?! But whatever... Cook was good, but not overly funny. He didn't even use the funny oil peeing boy (IYKYK) which my 9yo old always gets excited about. Food was cooked just right IMO but server never came back to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. They don't have yum yum sauce it's something much runnier which was disappointing. After the cook was done, they were practically rushing us out, by picking up plates, offering boxes, and setting new clean dishwater near the grill. I'm glad that they are efficient, but where's my server? Where's my water & wine refill? For a Friday evening and NOT very busy, I was really bummed for how horrible our experience and service was. This is one of the best teppanyaki restaurants around. This server didn't do her job and our last 5 star experience turned to a 3 star and was underwhelming sadly.
