We thought Sake restaurant was OK. Our server was wonderful. The Tonkatsu Ramen broth was very bland. I ended up not finishing it. The egg was overcooked. I did enjoy the pork though. Well, we use to go here at least once a week. Service is always amazing but last time our sushi rice was warm.... Ok. No big deal, we told our server. Came back after 6 months away to Arizona and yes, rice was warm on both nigiri and daisy roll. Such a bummer. I mean it's raw fish but to be mixed with warm rice. Defeats purpose. My husband loves Sushi. We decided to try Sake. If you love it too you must eat here. First the ambience. It reminds me of a small Japanese Restaurant in SanFrancisco. It is so clean and the wait staff so polite and quiet. He had three rolls. He asked the Chef to surprise him with one and he said hands down that was his favorite. It is not on the menu but I have found when asked they often will make you something that is not in the Menu if they can. So try them out if you haven't. You mouth will be rewarded. read more

I had ordered to go so I didn't have a dine in experience. The rolls fell apart and I had to eat them by hand. They were messy and not rolled the best. The gyoza was very salty and overcooked and the edamame was overcooked and very brown. After paying $55 for 2 rolls, gyoza and edamame, I was very disappointed. Very happy I found this hidden gem! They have a great selection of rolls and nigiri. We had a sunshine roll and the nigiri were both delicious. Another really good dinner at Sake. Made a dinner reservation for 5:00 pm on a Saturday night and the place was much busier that we had experienced before. Our table was ready when we arrived and the food we ordered came out so quickly. I had the chirashi which had a nice variety of sashimi. It was my first time trying it but I was pleasantly surprised. For sushi, I got a Philly roll and Unagi roll. Both were the best I've had in the area yet, definitely fresh and worth the price point. We also tried the chicken teriyaki which comes with rice and steamed or tempura veggies. This was some of the best chicken teriyaki in the area that my partner has had so far. Wish it had been for happier circumstances but my wonderful business partner of 28 years (coworkers for 38) recently passed away. I miss her dearly! The food that her sister ordered was so delicious! We had tempura which was crispy, light and oh so delicious! Shrimp and veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sushi was excellent too! Everything was so fresh! The teriyaki chicken was juicy and flavorful! Perfect soy, ginger, garlic and sugar combination! The Katsura chicken was superb! Crunchy tasty coating on perfectly cooked juicy pieces of chicken. The best we have had ever! The service staff is super friendly and helpful! Always made sure your glass was full of cool and refreshing water. Always checked in to see if you needed anything else as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful! Very comfortable feeling. Real nice inside. Discovered Sake during the pandemic and have thoroughly enjoyed satisfying our Japanese cravings with their katsu, curry, ramen, and sushi. We've tried a lot of dishes but our favorite is the chicken katsu (comes with generous portion of rice), katsu curry chicken, tempura appetizer. The ramen is good as well. The sushi is fresh and priced well and mostly has survived its takeout journey. (We only had one instance where one piece of sashimi was an unappetizing color.) Service has always been great. Easy to order on the phone, always ready for pickup when they estimate. They attend to all the details and have everything packaged well for no-leaking on the way home. Haven't dined in yet but they have a lovely restaurant that belies its location in the generic shopping center off Highland Dr. Would be great for a date night. read more

This place did not disappoint! Little hidden gem in a strip mall. Was looking for a Ramen place around Cottonwood Heights. The only place I would want to go to, is closed for lunch. I typically wouldn't go to a sushi restaurant and order Ramen. But this was such a great find. The staff are so friendly and super nice. They even gave us a complementary Gyoza. Gyozas were so good. The Tonkotsu Ramen is to die for. I added bok choy and shiitake mushrooms. The shiitake mushrooms are like a party in your mouth. I wasn't impressed with the Hamachi Carpaccio. Staff was very attentive and quick to get our orders placed. I ordered a veggie sushi roll & it was pretty good. My friend tried the snow crab tempura roll. She loved the amount of tempura it had on it & would definitely recommend & get it again. I want to try a tempura roll next time. They seemed to have a couple vegetarian sushi options, which I appreciated. I ordered the veggie ramen. The broth didn't have a ton of flavor, which was a disappointment. I feel like the broth in ramen really makes or breaks it. I had to add soy sauce to this broth because it was really bland. It had so many bok choys in the ramen. I'm not a big fan of bok choy so that was all being pulled out. The menu wasn't really clear about what vegetables were included in this dish. The noodles were pretty good though. My friend ordered the Nabeyaki Udon. She also didn't love the broth in this, also having to add soy sauce for flavoring. She said the udon noodles were really yummy & chewy. We both noticed the soft boil eggs didn't seem like they were marinated in anything. I love adding an egg to my ramen because they are usually super flavorful. This was a little bit of a disappointment. Overall, I would check this place out for their sushi. I wouldn't recommend for the ramen or udon. read more

First- lots of parking (located in a strip mall) Second- newly and tasteful decorated Third - Good service The Food : had sushi only : the rice and rolls done well I'm sure they may be expanding their menu and selections once they know more about their customers. We had- maki hamachi roll - done very well with some chopped green onions. Nigiri - tamago (egg) a bit firm and missing the flavoring from sweet dashi but ok- tobiko (fish eggs) was fresh and good. Their Mama Mia roll was excellent- a bit sweet due to the eel sauce but good combination of ingredients and we will order it again. We also tried the vegetable tempura good mix of squash - potatoes - carrot- onion- broccoli- a good combination and excellent dipping sauce. We'll be back to try their ramen and udon and any new dishes they may create. This restaurant is so new they haven't yet had their grand opening! Had a wonderful dinner here tonight. It's one of few sushi restaurants that have Ika shoyu on the menu and also do yakitori aka meat skewers with a nice char flavor and still cooked tender. The service was attentive, friendly and prompt and we were happy with all our sushi, appetizer and sashimi orders as well. The items came our timely and done right. We will definitely be returning again. The interior was surprisingly spacious, hard to tell from the outside of the shopping plaza. We had a wonderful waitress who helped my boyfriend get the roll he wanted and also gave us a treat for his birthday! Her name was Julie and she was amazing! However, 2 hours after eating the raw salmon and tuna my boyfriend was projectile vomiting which continued for hours. I had to take him to the hospital as he began to vomit blood. The doctors confirmed he had food poisoning from consuming the raw fish. Raw food is a risk always, but considering this is a ramen and sushi restaurant we did not expect him to need to be hospitalized after consuming this. I would be careful ordering anything raw from this place, as he was the sickest he has ever been from food poisoning, let alone sushi. A dinner date on his birthday ended up with hundreds of dollars in medical bills and lots of misery and pain. Save your money and eat somewhere that won't end in hospital bills and vomiting blood!! read more

The sushi rolls are so yummy and we always pair it with the Katsu Chicken and steamed veggies. The sushi is fresh and flavorful with lots of different options to choose from. We usually go with the daisy roll, playboy, and Sake Special, but we have tried the other rolls as well and they are just as tasty! You can't go wrong with the Katsu Chicken either.
