This is my second time coming here and both times have been fab! Good vibes for a little date night or girls night out. The service is fast and attentive. We first got served our miso soups that came with our meals, which you can never go wrong with a miso soup. Then we shared the black crunch roll which I thought was a 5/5. I love eel and eel sauce so this roll was perfect for me. Perfect amount of sweetness and a nice crunch. I got the chicken teriyaki and I was delighted with how much food they give you in these meals. Felt super full after eating everything. The chicken teriyaki was pretty good. I can be picky with fat in my chicken and there was some but otherwise was very good texture. My friend got the chicken katsu which she said was a 9.5/10. We both remarked at how good the sauce in our salads was. Overall well done!
Cam to Tokai on a Friday night and was seated by the owner, Paul right away. Ambiance was nice, not overly crowded, service was on point, drink refills were frequent. We ordered 4 different "specialty" rolls, all were very tasty and decent size. The menu had many rolls to select from and some other non sushi dishes on the back of the menu which we didn't try. Overall a good, yummy and fulfilling experience.
Food is extremely salty here and there's no need to pour yourself any soy sauce for dipping. We ordered calamari as our appetizer and I couldn't help to notice how "fishy" it smelled. There were combination of rings and tentacles. I typically prefer the tentacles, but these were so breaded that you couldn't taste the squid itself, however, you can sure smell it. The rings were very salty and I tried to mask it with their dipping sauce since it was a bit sweeter. I ordered the bento box with 3 choices for $18. I had 2 sashimi (4 pieces) and the teriyaki salmon with sauce on the side. The portions were extremely small and of course, the salmon was VERY salty. I was surprised that I can order 2 sashimis and there weren't an added cost. The tuna cut looked pretty tough, but still tasted pretty good, somehow, a bit on the dry side. Maybe the salt? Who knows! The rice on bento boxes are usually a regular bowl of rice and this was about a quarter cup. I could've eaten a couple more rolls, but I didn't really like the quality of food here with the few things we already ordered. Our server also spilled 2 hot bowls of miso soup at our table and on my boyfriend and she gave us a 10% discount, which was nice, but I was expecting at least his meal comped. There's other restaurants and sushi nearby that I would recommend going that is worth your money.
I saw this place after seeing a movie and decided to check it out. I haven't found very flavorful Ramen in Utah and had essentially given up on my search, but I was open to trying again. I am so glad I did! I had the tonkotsu Ramen and it was so good! The flavor was perfect and the pork was so tender. I usually don't like eating the egg but it wasn't too runny so I enjoyed it. I also tried the Philly roll 2 and it was so flavorful I didn't even want any soy sauce. They brought out waters when they came to take our orders which was nice to not have to wait to order a drink. Our server was very kind and attentive. Everything inside was clean and it had a warm atmosphere in the restaurant. I really enjoyed my experience here and hope to find myself in that area again to go back.
The space is clean and nicely lit. All the windows bring in a lot of good natural light. We were seated right away and service was fast. We ordered a cup of the miso soup, but it was very salty. We also ordered two rolls that were really good. We ordered the spicy scallop and the rich to rich rolls. The spicy scallop had good heat to it and the scallops were bigger than the normal chopped size. The rich to rich has a little bit of everything: soft shell crab, cucumbers, spicy tuna, and avocado. Super delicious and fresh, our favorite!
Husband was craving sushi, so this is where we went. We didn't try their ramen, but I'll go back to try it. We shared a bento box and got a side of Miso soup so we could each have one. We got the Vegas roll and another fried one which were both delicious. Our waiter was nice and we were seated immediately. Food also came out quickly. The restaurant was cute and decorated nicely with a couple TV's to watch stuff on. We will come back and try the ramen.
New spot in jordan landing but menu seems to be about the same as the place it was before. Staff was very friendly! We ordered kamikaze roll which was delicious! Had a good variety of flavor with a lime kick! Main entree was tonkatsu ramen, it was creamy and the pork was very tender! Definitely must try if you come here! My husband ordered the miso ramen and it was okay I liked the tonkatsu broth better.
Came to dine on a Thursday evening and we came a bit late which was fine. We started off with soft shell crabs as an appetizer and it was delicious, crunchy and hot when it came out! My fiancé is starting to love soft shell crab. We realized two rolls we got both had lime and lemon which was a bit too citrusy however we just took it off and the sushi was still good!
Saw this place pop up and was excited to try it out. I'll be honest, the sushi really wasn't very good. For the most part the texture of the rice was like it was day old rice, dry and a tinge crunchy. Even worse was the fish. All the raw fish except for the salmon was clearly old, and for the first time in my life there was a sushi roll that was completely inedible, the rainbow roll. Whatever the pink fish was that was on top was sour tasting! I literally couldn't even chew it. It was so inedible that I felt the need to inform them that I think their fish might actually be bad. I was very polite, and didn't ask for anything, I just wanted to make them aware that something wasn't right. One of the sushi guys was really apologetic and I felt that he did legitimately care , the other got a little defensive. Another noteworthy roll was the lobster roll , which I can't quite point out why it wasn't good, but it just did not taste good at all. Rolls that were okay were the Philadelphia roll and Vegas roll. And again, all the raw salmon we had was decent The food aside, we ordered two orders of salmon nigiri and didn't get them until well after our first round of rolls, and I had to ask about them or I'm not sure we would have ever gotten them. The rolls also took a very very long time to get made. I'd get it if it was really busy or something, but for the first 30-40 mins, there was only one other party there! And even when people started showing up, they were getting their food before us despite us having ordered before they got there. I also noticed that rolls were sometimes waiting for what I think was too long on the counter to be picked up by the waitress. A few times I literally asked if I could just grab our rolls for us. All of this said, the only reason I don't give 1 star is because 1. How genuine one of the sushi chefs was as he listened to my complaint 2. They ended up taking the rainbow roll off our bill 3. As we were almost done, they did surprise us with the "chef special" roll which wasn't bad, but more than the roll itself, the gesture was certainly appreciated. Overall, in its current state, I would not return. This seems like it could be a great sushi place, but the fish, rice, and preparation of them is really going to need a major overhaul
The sushi rolls here are pretty good! My fav so far are the Michael, Wildfire, and Rich to Rich. The soft shell crab appetizer is more like a salad and absolutely delicious! They serve alcohol so it's nice to have that to pair with your food. The service is good and quick. I also loved the miso soup, it was more flavorful than other spots. The sashimi is decent. Give this place a try!
Reviews are largely positive. Many praise the fresh and flavorful sushi, friendly and attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great food and good service. Food came out fast, so not a long wait. Clean and nice ambiance. Good miso soup. Really good sushi and yummy noodles with a lot of veggies. The chicken in the noodles was grilled and tasty. Happy to have this restaurant in West Jordan, and will definitely be back soon. read more
Super cute little place. Lived the atmosphere. Husband had the seafood udon and he did not like it. He's learned he does not like udon noodles, he wasn't sure what was in the dish and not sure about the flavor. I had the beef yakisoba and it came out hot and delicious. We did have gyoza which were excellent. The sushi was good as well read more

While the sushi was pretty good, the service was incredibly slow. Our rolls came out nearly 20 minutes apart. The restaurant itself was nice and clean however and offered a lot of seating. Overall it was just an average experience. read more

West Valley Tokai Sushi coming through with a 5 star experience! From the moment our group walked in the door, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The food was outstanding and served way faster than I'm used to. There wasn't a single dish our group didn't enjoy! I recommend the Hoedoepbap for anyone who enjoys poke. It's an assortment of raw fish served over rice with vegetables and sauce. It quickly became the group favorite. I really liked that all of the diners were seated away from each other. Our group was able to have an entire corner to ourselves and we didn't feel smashed on top of the other customers. That doesn't seem like a big deal, but it makes a big difference when you've got a chatty group like ours. For being a last minute decision, Tokai was a great choice. read more
I love it here. I always order the same thing, it's usually the chirashi or sashimi. I love the way they season the chirashi rice, so that's what I usually go with. They're pretty good about making changes with fishes, I personally hate super fishy things like mackarel. I sometimes ask them to sub it, and they've always been great about it! I order the takoyaki pretty regularly as well, and have always enjoyed it. read more

Our favorite sushi restaurant in the valley. Fresh fish and their baked mussels are the best I have ever had. And the staff is amazing. Paul is kind and attentive, always treats you like a friend, such a welcoming atmosphere! We come out here all the time read more
So happy Tokai added this location in Jordan Landing. Always the freshest fish, and tasty selection of sushi. Lobster Roll was next level. Other options like ramen and bento boxes for lunch for the non-sushi person in your group. Quick service makes it a great option before/after the movies. read more

I've been to this restaurant when it was located closer to east Millcreek area. We walked in 30 minutes before closing and the staff was very accommodating. They didn't rush us. The sushi was pretty delicious. I would say they don't skimp on the eel sauce like some other places. The fish just melts in your mouth. I will definitely come here again because they have other dinner entrees I'd like to try out. read more

The atmosphere is interesting...bland. Nothing special. The service seems all waiters not even on same page. When I order double spicy roll. It fell apart so I tried to eat. It was delicious don't get me wrong but it wouldn't stick together so I showed the sushi chef then they told me they got me. So thinking I got new roll. Waiting for it then waitress got me bill charging for that roll which I couldn't finish it. I told the waitress would I get new one she wasn't sure then asked the chef seems they were not on the same page. So she decided to take off without asking if I'd get new one so I just paid and left. And don't bother coming. You can find sushi places are much cheaper. I mean eel avocado for $10, you could find it for $5. And the hot sake could have been better if it was hot. I had it lukewarm. read more

My husband and I went in for lunch today after helping some friends move. We were super hungry and it had just started to snow. I'm grateful for the warm teas they had available, in which I chose the Oolong. We ordered Miso soup and calamari to start, and then chose the Inferno and Lobster rolls. Everything was delicious and it came out pretty quick! The service was great and the sushi masters were awesome! Next time we're out that way (and are craving sushi) we'll be back! read more

So, in the way of ramen, it isn't our most flavourful try so far but they have great noodles and expected ramen veggies and add ins. We had the katsu curry ramen, hoping for a bit of a kick, but it was actually pretty tame by our standards. We also had tempura and edamame, (we were trying to eat light that day) the tempura had a unique sweet sauce I loved. Should I meet anyone who can mess up edamame, I'll let you know. I also ordered ginger tea, which was brewed with actual sticks of ginger. I appreciate this. It was my birthday, and we were on a food adventure of sorts. The ginger helped immensely. read more

Only ok. Ordered the Honey Roll and sunomono salad. My husband got the coconut prawns. Maybe we are just used to "better" having just moved from the Bay Area, but very disappointing. The "honey" on the roll was kinda like a light honey mustard sauce. The Sunomono Cucumber salad had too much sesame oil. Not impressed. We paid $37 (not including tip). Will not be going back. Poor quality for the price for sure. Had Smiths California Roll yesterday (Wednesday $6). Was as expected for grocery store CA Roll. Not bad Smiths. read more
This must be a new location because I had to add it. We came here for a friend's bday dinner a couple weeks back. The spot looks nice and our server was very friendly, but service was pretty slow. The sushi roll I ordered came out before the miso soup as an appetizer, and my friend ordered a hot green tea that came out way after we all already got our meals. I wish my miso soup was as hot as the sake. The sushi tasted OK but I noticed the texture of the rice right away. It was like when I have leftover sushi and put it in the fridge for a while before finishing it. Very dry and old tasting, so that was disappointing. A friend got the ramen and they didn't really care for it, but I didn't try it for myself. They did bring out complementary mochi ice cream for the birthday boy. Overall, I can't say I would want to come back here. read more
