Amazing. The King Kong tempura roll is unreal. When it first comes out, it's still warm. The tempera, the crunch of it, the taste perfectly mixes with the cream cheese. My godddddd. And the server hooked us up with these wings. Real og. Ate with my soul here, happy tummy. read more

I have to preface this review by letting readers know that we are loyal fans of the Itto Sushi location on Ft. Union. I've been going there since they opened, and though I try lots of other sushi places, most of them don't measure up to my favorite. I came here at a slow/off hour with my son for dinner. We waited a while before anyone came to the table. I got miso soup for my son (it's part of his regular sushi order), which looked to be OK. I also got a crab salad, which ended up not being what I expected. It was a good amount of volume but was too spicy for both of us. I should've asked for a description of it before ordering. I got a coconut shrimp roll which was pretty good, just super dense. I also got a Las Vegas roll which was very different from any others I have had--no spicy mayo, just a different darker sauce that wasn't my favorite. Our server seemed a little inconvenienced by us, and things took a lot longer than they should've. The inside seemed to be decorated more like a bar or pub but was clean enough. Overall, our experience was just OK. I might be willing to try this place again, avoiding the Vegas roll and not holding it to the standard of my favorite place. read more

Not sure I'd go back. The sushi was not bad, tasted fresh. But the sashimi was not worth the $20. I've had far better for almost the same price at other places. But the short rolls, long rolls, and hand rolls are good for their price $5-$10 and I'd go back for those. Server was friendly as well, ambiance is pretty chill. read more

I wasn't able to get the name of the manager but in this sushi restaurant , there is a manager women , whose been picking up the phone since yesterday. She has the worst attitude ever! She should have more patience, talk nicely to costumers. No costumer is going to take that shit I am not being exaggerated or any of that. I didn't like her tone , she gives you attitude doesn't even sound polite at all . If you're looking for work don't waste your time & go do an application because there's a woman manager here that has the worst but the worst attitude ever & tells you oh we're not hiring , but the other manager said yes to go do applications. ‍ I don't recommend this place , cause imagine how she treats the poor people who go there. read more

This is my favorite sushi spot with my dad. Each time we go we get the "All you can eat" sushi special. Each time my father and I go to Simply Sushi we KNOW we are ordering the yellowtail sashimi (recommended to us by one of the sushi artists), it seems like it has a lemon sauce infused in the rice (I'm drooling already). My dad and I always leave looking like Violet from Willy Wonka. Each time I go in, it's very clean. The staff doesn't judge us when we have ordered PAST a concerning amount of rolls, so that's a plus. All jokes aside, this is our favorite sushi place and I think everyone should try it. We have eaten so much here, that at times, we are full for days! It's hard to stop when the food is that good. read more

The food: It was delicious, we tried different ones and I loved them all. The waiter: very charming and doing a good job Everything looked nice, I was able to have a good time with my friends, the atmosphere was simple but harmonious and cute, my opinion about this place is good, I don't rate the place with 5 because of the cleanliness with little light In the bathroom it was not to my liking. 4.5 Greetings. Remember to follow me. 4.5 Saludos. Their website says they're open until 8:00 pm on Sundays. They aren't. They close at 7:00, and are only open for takeout until 8:00. W had a party meeting there for diners at 7:00. When I was told they were closed, I told him their website said they were open until 8:00. His response was, "Yeah. We've been trying to get out computer guy to change that." EXTREMELY IRRITATING to have to get hold of the members of our party and try to arrange to meet at a restaurant with a more reliable website. read more

Fast service, amazing food, and they have so many options to choose from. The store is so cute inside as well. The staff is very friendly too. read more

I got takeout and the service was not just super fast but also the people working there were so friendly. It has a late night chill bar kind of vibe, pretty cool and quiet. They could do with a few more vegetarian options but the rolls are honestly so good, the sauce on top was as 10/10 and they're not expensive at all. read more

This is casual strip mall sushi so please curb expectations coming here. SS is no longer all you can eat, it's a la carte. You get what you pay for. Playboy and King Kong rolls were my favorite and the green bean fries... DELICIOUS. Sexy face roll- very sweet. Omg roll- popular roll but not my favorite. Unagi and simply salmon nigiri were not good. But I'm a nigiri snob. My total for 4 rolls, 2 nigiri orders, and the side was a little over seventy. Server was great! read more

I only eat the veggie sushi. This location is OK, I wish that the one in Salt Lake still existed because it tasted amazing and there's was fresh. I think this location has fresh menu items but sometimes it seems like some of the items have been sitting for a couple of hours. Either way, it's still very good, otherwise the other location was amazing and addicting, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be open anymore. read more

I am surprised to see that this place is still open! Not for any fault of their own but just that there is so much competition for sushi places in Salt Lake and we only ordered out from here and picked it up. We were somewhat overwhelmed with options because they have a whole lot more than "simply sushi" that's why the name is kind of funny to me! I don't believe they have boba which is unfortunate even for any restaurant but especially for a sushi or any foreign cuisine, highly recommend adding boba! read more

The service was really bad we weren't served or talked to for 20minutes while an another family came in and got served immediately. It seems like it's disfunctional / no communication amoung waiters/ staff. Received the wrong sushi. Then lastly we had to ask for a receipt upon her telling us she was gonna give it to us. Sushi was very low grade. Wouldn't recommend here unless you want poor sushi and service. Not coming again. read more

great sushi & very clean ! some employees could be nicer , the service is mid - okay . sushi is always very fresh

Ordered a Playboy, Park City, and Shrimp Tempura roll. The rolls tasted just okay, nothing to write home about. My biggest complaint was the portion sizes.. considering they're under the menu as "long rolls" these rolls are TINY! They fit all 3 of my rolls in the same size takeout container that would typically hold 1 roll from other restaurants. When I arrived to pickup I laughed and commented how small they were and the server politely apologized and said this is the normal size. Big oof for this place, prices going up and portion sizes going down, (yay capitalism!) Still hungry :( read more

For $15.95 during the lunch hour, this place offers sushi buffet from their menu. It's pretty decent is you're looking to explore the thought of trying sushi for the first time and lots of veggie rolls. My personal favorites are the Spicy Upside Down Shrimp and the Simply Tuna nigiris. For dinner, they still offer the buffet but this includes the back of the menu for $22.95. There's a bigger selection but choose wisely. Most of the rolls are long rolls and if you happen to not like it, you must find room in your tummy or a place to hide it on your plate because they will charge you for wasting food. I used to come here all the time for Edgar because he'd always take care of me. But now that he doesn't work here, the new guys are alright. It is pretty dead here for the lunch hour and I'm sitting at the bar waiting for my rolls/sushi concoctions. Maybe it's time to find a new sushi place... read more

Great place, but it is no longer an all you can eat sushi place. You have been warned.

Simply put: Some of Simply Sushi's rolls are good and some are just ok. We've tasted better Vegas rolls (not worth $11), the Sunshine roll was good, the fish and chips were ok (but I guess you get what you pay for for $6). If you were wondering, a hand roll is basically the fish and rice wrapped in seaweed that you can pick up and eat with your hands. They're yummy, but it's too little of food for $6. Not sure if we'll be ordering from here again read more

The Sushi I got was disgusting! It had a really strong fish smell and made me and my wife nauseous! We got 5 rolls 3 of them were just simple spicy tuna rolls with there sauce which tasted like fry sauce with a little sriracha in it and it was smothered on the rolls there rice is very soggy as all the rolls were but, the smell of tank fish was I definitely would not go there again and will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The sushi here is okay but it gave my really bad stomach ache. The service was pretty piss poor they we saw them eating rather then making sure we got our order. Ambience was as far from japan as you can get they had Japanese sodas that I haven't had in a while but it wasn't good at all. I will not be coming back. read more

They have a large selection of great rolls, the Coconut Shrimp Tempura roll is to die for! I've never done the all-you-can-eat option but if you eat more than 2 rolls it's a crazy good deal. This is definitely a no-frills establishment, but the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the service is fast. read more

If I'm getting sushi when I'm in town, I'm usually going here. It's no longer all you can eat which is really disappointing for the price side of things. The tuna and salmon always taste off to me so I've just stopped ordering those, but everything else I've tried is amazing. I was sad when the downtown location closed as it was within walking distance of where I usually stay. The Rangoon Pastry Roll used to be my favorite but at this location it just tastes different. I love the King Kong and the Dragon rolls. read more

You can get better sushi at the smiths beside them. I'm not even joking. Had tuna sashimi and it was GROSS. I make my own sushi when I pick up from Aquarius and I hopped in just to see what this was about and they said the all you can eat was not there, so I was hoping that I wasn't going to get buffet sushi, but I got worse than buffet sushi at a premium price. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

This is the hardest review I've ever had to write, and to be honest I am probably being generous with three stars. We have been fans of simply sushi for years! Been waiting patiently to go back for our "Endless". When we arrived we were informed that they are no longer doing Endless Sushi, they haven't for a year. So we ordered our first round of sushi rolls, enjoyed them and waited probably for 15 minutes after completely finishing with no one checking on us and then our waitress brought us the bill, we informed her we weren't quite finished and would like to order more. After another 20 minutes we still didn't have our next round of sushi rolls, the place wasn't that busy and everyone around us was being served. Once it was going on 30 minutes waiting for just a couple more rolls to be served we finally decided we would ask for our check and leave. Unfortunately I don't see us making the drive up to West Jordan again since they no longer have the endless. read more

Gross sushi. Even the edamame was bad. The choices of sushi was yucky! Yucky combinations. Waitress came to our table three times and didn't even remove the empty dishes or ask for refills on water or soda. read more

This is my first time to Simply Sushi. It was delicious. I don't get it go out for sushi very often. I took my team for work. two of the message yesterday. We ordered a lot of different roles. The rainbow roll, the Playboy roll, the Las Vegas roll and a couple Bees Knees. That was a awesome roll. We also ordered a firecracker roll and that was my other favorite. All of them tasted exactly how they were described on the menu. They're very fresh. One of the people I was with orderex the edamame. I tried some and it was delicious. In service leverage. Wait a couple questions and she wasn't able to answer their questions. Luckily the menu was very descriptive. When you're there make sure you take time to read some of the signs around the restaurant. They're really funny and witty. read more

My family used to live going to eat at simply sushi. We knew what we were getting: buffet quality sushi for a buffet price. Now, apparently, since covid hit, they have an excuse to suspend or apparently eliminate the endless sushi. This sushi is not a la cart quality for what they're charging. We won't be coming back, unless they decide to start serving endless sushi again. read more

It's been a while since I've been back here. My impression of this place back then brought me here for lunch. What a downfall. If there was a flavor for "I don't care anymore" it's definitely in the sushi. Not worth the all you can eat sushi. The catch 22 is that whatever you order, you have to try to eat all or you'll be charge a la carte. If you tried one piece of the roll and thought how not good it is... What can you do? 2 star for a decent and attentive serving staff. But I don't think I can ever come back again. read more

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews. The sushi is good. It's fair priced. Rolls starting from $4 to $10 and hand rolls like $5. Haven't tried their all you can eat but it's about $17 which sounds convenient if you plan on eating more than 3 rolls at $10 a piece. My favorite roll is the Zen roll. The staff is nice and I've even been hooked up with free edamame even though some places already give free edame but hey $2 is $2 saved. Lol read more

I think I set my expectations too high for this place. I'm not exactly a Sushi Snob and was looking for a little variety of sushi for a good price. The price I got, the variety I did not. I gave it two stars because it IS a buffet and expectations should be lowered due to that fact. I was dining alone and was sat at one of the bars by myself. The other bar had openings and it felt a bit awkward being sat by myself. I DID shower that morning and didn't exactly have the Creeper thing going on so I wasn't sure why the segregation. Especially since there wasn't even a chef at the station where I was sat. After getting over the loneliness, I checked out the lunch menu. The selection of fish wasn't impressive but I can work within the parameters of a few kinds of fish. The good: I liked the Mango Tango roll. Very original and added a flair to the menu. The price was reasonable but high for the quality of sushi. The bad: Crab with a "K." Didn't find anything in my order with real crab in it. Limited selection of raw fish in the rolls. No Spider Roll. LOVE me some Spider roll. The rice had the consistency of Uncle Ben's. The ugly: Worst Unagi I have ever had. Cold, fatty, and tasted like it died of old age. Tuna was not fresh. I looked for the "Starkist" label on the Maguro. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon. Not for the lack of freshness (everybody has a bad day) but for the lack of selection. I'd pay a few extra bucks for some sushi with actual fish in it. read more

All you can eat sushi. That's a lot of sushi. The sushi is mediocre at best. The rice was kind of weird, which is odd for a sushi place. I think they had made it in the morning and it was just dried out from being there all day. When we went it was very cold and the whole front of the restaurant is a giant glass wall. Whenever the door opened we absolutely froze to death. Everyone around had similar experiences and was tightly bundled in their coats to keep warm. This place is all about maximum profitability. The ingredients are all lower grade with nothing really creating a wow factor or any pizazz. That makes the food unremarkable. This place is rated highly because you can get tons of sushi for not very much money, and that's okay. If you have a horde to feed, then this is your place. As for me, I prefer higher quality and more innovative sushi. I can't bring myself to give this place three stars. read more

Where do I begin? This place has the best sushi ever. My all time favorite is the Upside down Spicy Shrimp Nigiri and the King Kong roll. Way to go!! See you again soon. read more

I have been coming here for years with my family. We always got the all you can eat, but because of Covid that was temporarily discontinued.
