Outside of a few *common* rolls each place has different combinations of rolls. This one was no different. We selected 3 to start: Mango Salmon (lots of mango) Snow Bird (avocado & fried shrimp) & Sunshine(salmon & lemon). We finished up with the Fire roll. All the rolls were great, excellent taste with fresh ingredients. Not only was the food excellent but the services was too. It may not looks much, but don't let that stop you. The food is what I am disappointed about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waitress was nice and the environment seemed chill[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but the food was underwhelming. I got the Chicken Katsu à la carte. The Chicken Katsu was unfortunately more breaded than chicken so it was very crispy, almost like tasting close to burnt crispiness. The cost of the food, tax, and tip was about $18. Yes, I'll tip, but including that, $18 did not reflect the meal I was served. I will note, a lot of the stuff on the menu seemed pricey. I'm wondering if they are trying to properly balance food cost with the costs of the staff since I think there's 3-4 people working there? Another potential reason for high costs is that they are open till 3:30am. What I've noticed with stores open late at night is that because they are one of few stores actually open that late, they can charge higher prices and people will still buy from them. PLUS, if you are one of few stores open late, you can also get away with lower quality food. So if I had to bet, the pricing and quality of food is supposed to reflect super late night restaurant tactics. I'd only go here if it's the only place you're interested eating at past midnight. read more

Menu looked good and it sounded like a nice vibe to try out. However, the lady that was working was dismissive and couldn't be bothered with customers. Mind you there was a whopping four people there at the time, so not exactly busy. After sitting down at the table that she pointed at saying "sit there" we were greeted with "just so you know the soda machine is broken and sushi is going to take a while to make." Crazy me I thought this was a sushi place. Anyway, couldn't tell you if the sushi is any good because apparently there wasn't anyone there to make it. We came here on a weeknight around 6:30 with some of my in-laws who were in town from the Richfield area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small hole in the wall type place. It was empty except for one small family, so we we were seated right away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our biggest struggle was communicating with the server. Not only was he new and very young, but there was a significant language barrier. We had to gesture and demonstrate to get our order across. Thankfully everything came out correctly! I got the coconut chicken, which honestly wasn't super coconutty. It was decent--kind of all of the (chewy) parts of the chicken you'd expect at this kind of restaurant. It came with lots of white rice, and lots of syrup, basically. We ordered a big plate of chow mein, which was good! We had a couple pieces of sashimi which were decent--not mind blowing nor bad. I wish I could remember what rolls we ordered, maybe the Rainbow roll? Both sushi rolls were really good. The portions across the entire table were very generous. It was my first time here and once I checked in on Yelp, I got a discount! Eiko cafe is open late and I love that! We ordered the chicken katsu dinner option that came with soup, 2 egg rolls, wonton, and fried rice. The fried rice was so flavorful, you don't get that at most places! I've eaten here a couple of times, it is right next to the boba or dessert place that was called Bubbles, which they closed the two locations they had which one was in Sandy and the other location was in Taylorsville. I've been here and eaten sushi and I've also gotten a couple of other things that weren't sushi and they were absolutely amazing as well. A+++ 5 stars! read more

I've been conflicted. I honestly hate posting a bad review. Last night I ordered 4 items and only one was even edible. The takoyaki were cold in the middle and the texture was awful. I'm guessing the temperature of the fryer was off because the coating was soft and incredibly greasy. At other establishments this is often one of my favorite items. The sushi roll I ordered had eel that tasted off. It also had no flavor dynamic, one flavor and it was eel drenched in eel sauce. The Cajun pasta had no seasoning. it's just seafood in plain undercooked Spaghetti noodles. I was so disappointed. I was headed out for lunch and was in the mood for sushi. I yelped a few places and saw that Eiko Cafe was brand spanking new. I'm talking about opening their doors just 2 weeks ago. There were 3 reviews with 5 stars. I have to check this out. Unfortunately, I was truly disappointed and gave this place 2 stars instead. Here's why: 1. It took almost 25 minutes for me to get my food. It wasn'tbe enough busy for a lunch hour. 2. The dishes that they serve their sushi on are plates I have in my home (Walmart). 3. The lobster bake roll is absolutely disgusting. 4. I was served water in a tiny tea cup. The only thing that saved this place was the agedashi tofu. I asked that the roll get taken off my bill. It was THAT bad. I hope the service and food is just growing pains of a new business, but I can't see myself coming back here anytime soon. read more

We decided to give this place a try despite the mixture of iffy reviews. It is very close to my home, maybe a 10 minute walk, and my daughter and I like to adventure out late at times so the 3 am closing time was appealing! It was a touch confusing when we walked in since I didn't know if we just seated ourselves or if we needed to go to the register or what. After standing there for a moment we were directed to choose a seat where we pleased. My daughter had been there before with friends, so we ordered the Unagi Don since she enjoyed it previously, and we also chose the Hot Night Roll. To be honest I was feeling a little trepidation ordering raw sushi because of the reviews, so we chose things that were cooked. The flavor profile of the Hot Night roll was very similar to our Unagi Don. We enjoyed both plates! If you like eel sauce you would definitely enjoy both as well as they were both hot, savory, and yummy! The reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is that we felt the service was somewhat slow considering there were only a few other tables occupied. Eater be eager to run far, far away! So hungry after a VERY long day and found what seemed like a decent late night place, off the beaten path.....wrong. One sushi roll ordered = one quickly thrown away. Popped open the plastic clamshell container and oh my....the smell. Then, because I'm just this way, I pulled a piece away and it was warm. Sadly, still starving, I tried the egg drop soup - which unlike the warm sushi, was cold and dare I mention somewhat slimy. So I frankly did not bother nor chance the general tso's chicken & rice. $40 wasted but probably well spent in liu of 24 hrs of food poisoning. The bright spot was the very polite young man working when I arrived to get our pickup order. "Oriental food" restaurant... just throw in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean food together and hope that the locals that don't have an authentic baseline don't notice is probably their motto. Basically, if you're from Cali or a major city, avoid. I asked my server if anything was actually authentic multiple times. He kept pointing me to the General Tso's... smh. I finally gave up and settled on the chicken katsu b/c nothing else seemed appetizing. The chicken came on a massive bed of white rice and despite the auto-imposed tonkatsu sauce randomly drizzled over, the chicken was a little dry. There was no bed of salad as advertised. They do get the extra star for being friendly and open late, but at the same time I should dock them again for being massively overpriced and along with not being tasty. I should have stayed home made instant ramen. That's definitely way more authentic and $30 cheaper. * Didn't try the sushi b/c it looked pretty horrible, but that's just speculation based on the fish ingredients I could see. read more

The portions are incredibly good for the price, the quality is really consistent, the service is always fantastic, and the variety of the menu is really solid. I was a huge fan of this place that by all other means may have seemed like a hole in the wall. It's right next to Bubbles a Taiwanese dessert place that has a drive thru and several other boba drinks, really good. I looked at the menu online and ordered over the phone. When we went in to pick it up we ended up sitting down to eat it I was so hungry. They were very easy going about it and we had our masks on upon entering so I think that helped. I got the spicy tuna rolls and I got my husband the philly rolls which usually have cream cheese in them and I used to obsessed but can't have dairy anymore so I get to vicariously live through him, haha. I haven't stopped thinking about how terrible the food was it was so salty and disgusting. Definitely go to Itto's if you want sushi. Definitely do not order whatever these chicken dishes were. We ordered Kung pao chicken. I've never seen it breaded before. Then we ordered General Taos. They honestly both tasted the same they both looked the same. I think we ordered four different rolls and 2 California rolls for the kids. I didn't like any of them. I thought about calling and asking for my money back but I just didn't want to bother. Ordered randomly one night craving sushi around midnight. Honestly was not expecting the quality of food I received! This place is becoming my regular sushi spot. The Fried Crabstick Jalapeños are a must. The tempura along with anything fried is fresh and the oil they use to fry food tastes clean. The strawberry chicken was a new one for us; to me the sauce reminded me of cereal with strawberries. Different, tasted good, and a new experience. Rice was perfect, soft and fluffy. I almost gave it two stars because it was at least packaged well, but honestly nagiri just stacked in a plastic containers any which way didn't even qualify for that. DO NOT eat the fish.
