Chang's has a lovely atmosphere, so I don't generally recommend getting food to go, but in this case, we just wanted a quiet evening at home. We made a Valentine's reservation for 4 at P.F. Chang's because we had a show afterward and were trying to do the responsible adult thing called planning ahead. We arrived before our reservation time and were told they were running behind and it would be a 15-minute wait. I explained we had a show to catch and asked directly if they could seat and serve us in time. The host confidently assured us they could. 15 minutes passed. Then 20. Then 25. At this point our reservation felt more like a suggestion. When I checked back, I was told it would be another 10 minutes. We kept waiting until we had only 55 minutes before curtain, not nearly enough time to be seated, order, eat, and travel unless dinner came with teleportation. So we had to leave... hungry... on Valentine's Day. What derailed the night wasn't just the delay -- it was being repeatedly reassured timing wouldn't be an issue when it clearly was. If reservations don't actually reserve a table, and timing can't be honored, it's better to say so upfront instead of letting guests slowly realize their dinner plans are fictional. Very disappointing experience, and a very disappointing unromantic fast-food backup ... hey at least fast food got us food on time! read more

I had a really mixed experience here. First of all... what is up with the oversized utensils? The spoons and forks were literally the size of my face. It felt unnecessary and honestly made eating a little awkward. Good thing we knew how to use chopsticks. Second, I genuinely don't know how kids would eat here. Those utensils are way too big, and nothing about the setup felt very practical. Now for the food... this is where most of the confusion came in. I ordered teriyaki chicken, and it came out breaded. I've never had teriyaki chicken prepared that way before, and the menu didn't mention it at all. That's a pretty big detail to leave out. The orange chicken was described as "lightly breaded," but the pieces were sliced so thin that it ended up tasting like mostly breading. There wasn't much actual chicken in each bite, which was disappointing. Essentially eating crispy air with a hint of chicken. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. The server and manager were both really kind and handled the situation well. They remade our food without the breading, and it tasted much better after that. However, for the price, the food just didn't meet expectations. There are places like Panda Express or even Ho-Ho's that offer better flavor and value. We came here based on a recommendation for the Mongolian beef, which may be great, but unfortunately we didn't order that, so we can't speak on it. At one point, we were told, "Well now you know for next time when you guys come back again." Ma'am... you're funny, but we're not coming back again. Came on a Saturday and it was quite busy. Took about 30-45 min to be seated. The inside is very nice I love the decor. Started off with crispy chili garlic green beans. These are a MUST. The lettuce wraps were okay, they weren't as great as I remembered. Crab hand folded wontons were also okay, they were a little bland and the sauce didn't really complement them in my opinion. We tried to order sushi but they were all out which was unfortunate! Ended up getting dynamite shrimp which was actually really good! Other favorite dish was the short rib kimchi fried rice. Definitely has a a good flavor! I really enjoyed most of the things we got here. At first I thought the menu wasn't big enough but they ended up having really good options. This was my first time eating at PF Chang's. The service good and staff were friendly. The fried batter overpowered the Chili green beans , but they were good! I liked the fresh green beans so I just wish they were more prominent. The only spicy thing about the app was the sauce. I didn't like our main dishes. They were either too sweet or the flavors didn't intrigue my interest. Very saucey. Rice was a nice palate cleanser with the main dishes. Honestly, the best dish was the lo mein. Will probably try a lo mein dish since we liked it so much (that is if we go again). Short Rib Fried Rice has a slight kimchi taste. As a kimchi lover, I wish there was more! The short ribs tasted off. Kind of bitter? The rice has a small bit of spice. Unacceptable Experience - Gift Cards Refused, Jacket Withheld, and Family Holiday Dinner Ruined We are longtime customers of P.F. Chang's and have always enjoyed the food, which makes this experience at the Murray, Utah location especially disappointing. We purchased $200 in P.F. Chang's gift cards from Costco and visited the restaurant on Saturday for lunch with our adult daughters and grandchildren. Despite having a reservation, we waited about 15 minutes before a server came to our table. The food was good, and we paid using the gift cards. One card still had a remaining balance, and the female server confirmed this and encouraged us to return to use it. We tipped generously. The following evening, we made another reservation and returned for what was intended to be a family holiday dinner with my wife, mother, youngest daughter, and a friend. Again, we waited about 20 minutes, even with a reservation. The male server was polite but inattentive and rarely checked on our table or refilled drinks. When ordering, the menu clearly stated that a mango drink was included free with one of the specials, but server said it was not the case. However, when it came time to pay, the server told me the gift card balance from the previous day "did not work." I explained that the server from the day before had confirmed the balance and even spoke directly with him to verify it. After waiting more than 10 minutes, the server returned and said the manager refused to accept the gift card, with no clear explanation. I was frustrated but paid with my credit card and still left a tip--though not the "suggested" amount--due to the poor service and the refusal to honor a valid gift card. Unfortunately, the situation escalated further and completely ruined what was supposed to be a meaningful family holiday dinner. After leaving, my wife realized she had forgotten her jacket. When she returned to retrieve it, the manager (a tall, young woman with dark hair) spoke to her in a loud and confrontational tone, stating they were holding the jacket because we did not tip the suggested amount. My wife was embarrassed and had to explain that we did tip, but were upset due to the gift card issue and service. Only after this exchange did the manager release my wife's jacket, while stating she "expected" us to return and tip more. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Gift cards are valid forms of payment and should be honored. Tips are voluntary, not mandatory--especially when service is poor. Withholding personal property over a tip is unprofessional and alarming. This experience left our family upset, embarrassed, and disappointed, and turned what should have been a special holiday gathering into a negative and stressful event. We expect a formal apology, a review of this incident, and a resolution regarding the refused gift card balance. This is a mid-tier restaurant with prices that feel more aligned with a higher-end dining experience. We were a group of two adults and two kids, and our total bill (including tip) came to $140 with no alcohol. We arrived at 7 pm without a reservation and were told there would be a 30-35 minute wait, but it ended up being closer to an hour. This wasn't their fault, as they had multiple large parties requiring tables to be held together. The appetizers--lettuce wraps and dumplings--were excellent. However, the main courses didn't quite live up to expectations, especially given the prices. We ordered a couple of chicken dishes: the lemon chicken and spicy chicken both seemed imitation, and both came with a $5 upcharge for fried rice. My spouse had the Pad Thai, which was overly flavored and not well-received by anyone at the table and went uneaten. I am pumped to have PF Chang's closer than downtown. I booked a reservation for my husband's birthday because he loves PF Chang's. We were seated in the patio area, and it wasn't busy at all, so that was nice. Lettuce wraps are always a winner. We all know this by now, I hope. If that's all we ordered, I'd probably be able to give 5 stars. We started with the crab wontons. There was a weird flavor about them that almost tasted moldy, but I think it was one of the spices or possibly a flavor picked up by the wonton wraps in the oil. Whatever it was, it wasn't my favorite. We got the Singapore street noodles, which weren't flavored the way we expected--very Thai flavored. Also spicier than I expected. I really enjoyed the crispy honey shrimp. I ate most of it on my own, to be honest. We upgraded the rice to fried rice, and honestly it just wasn't very flavorful at all. For birthday dessert, we got the great wall of chocolate. It did not disappoint. They also brought out a sparkler on a bottle, sans song. Our server Johnny did a really great job for us. On December 11, 2025 we dined at the P.F. Chang's in Murray, UT, 6227 S. State Street there were four people in our party one of which had a little bit of a special need. We were seated promptly and our server Shawn greeted us almost immediately and let us know he was going to bring water first inquiring if we wanted house water or any other type of water or any type of soft drink, though Shawn was very busy. He was extremely professional and courteous. He did not try to rush us to order. He took his time to explain menu items took his time to explain the specials explain any questions we may have had (one of our party was gluten-free). After we did order after we did order, Sean brought our food out promptly. All orders were correct. He checked on us frequently filling our water and addressing any other needs which we had one of our parties was celebrating a birthday and Shawn made sure that she got a birthday candle and he sang happy birthday to her. I can't express enough how professional he was throughout the whole encounter. In closing if there was ever a person who should be the national trainer for servers, Shawn should be considered for that assignment. read more
