No doubt! AYCE and it's good

I've driven by this spot for over a year. Not the best yelp rating but 10 people will report issues where 1 will report a positive experience. Says a lot about human nature. I was on my way to a tried and true spot up the road but I'm here and going to give Sushi Yu a shot. It's Sunday and I think normally closed but the lights are on and there are butts in seats so let's goooo! Im so hungry... The sushi is fresh, the service was very quick and I spent $36 and really full.

8/10 (for Utah)!! I can't remember all the roll names but here are a few: playboy, caterpillar, dragon, sexy.

We went here for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the sushi variety and quality. For Utah, it was really good. The waitress was very nice and it didn't take too long to get our order. The one thing we didn't enjoy was that it was hot in there. We felt that the AC was not on and it actually felt cooler outside. It's also very quiet in there; the music is playing but you can barely hear it so we caught ourselves whispering to talk. We will definitely be back... maybe in the winter though so it's not as warm inside! (:

All you can eat sushi!! Pricing was pretty good, about $28 per person and the service was pretty quick! The establishment itself is a bit small but it wasn't really busy when we stopped in so that was totally fine! The A/C wasn't on & I'm not sure if they normally have their A/C running so it was a bit stuffy with only 3 parties in the building(granted yesterday did have a high of 102 farenheit) Back to the good stuff! We were greeted right away and seated. Staff was very on top of their service so it was very prompt and quick! I got the Las Vegas roll, the salmon & tamago nigiri, the summer long roll & a spicy Cali hand roll, ALL amazing! The Las Vegas roll and Cali hand rolls are my "play it safe" rolls when visiting a new sushi spot & they were just as amazing as they are at other restaurants. The nigiri was top notch! The salmon tasted fresh and wasn't dry & you can never go wrong with the tamago! The summer roll was light & simple and the flavors blended super well together! All in all, the food was fooding! Great place for some great quality sushi. It's just very stuffy so it can get a little uncomfortable.

It's okay, simple rolls for the most part. If you are in to the "all you can eat" maybe give them a chance. Maybe we will be back in 6 months or so to see if they have changed anything. I don't like giving "okay" reviews, they might change my mind next time. Good ginger though.

First I don't like to write negative reviews because I want business to do well locally. BUT I had write this, because I don't want you to get cheated. I ordered Nigiri (Rice and Fish on top). What I got was a Gigantic Sticky Rice Ball with thin slice of fish. The rice was like 3 times more then normal, and fish was 1/3 the thickness of a normal Nigiri slice. I am not exaggerating, see my picture. I had to take a picture of it because this was ridiculous.

Since it is all you can eat, for the price this is not a bad place for sushi. It has very much the same menu items as the other all you can eat places but with better presentations. The place is clean, and the services are prompt. Sushi wise, the ingredients are fresh, decent amount of seafood for each roll and they don't stuff every roll with a bunch of rice as a filler, I think the only thing is that everything is on the blend side. Overall, not bad, definitely will return when I have sushi cravings but tight on budget.

Solid all you can eat. Fish isn't sliced too thin. Rolls are tasty and filling with a wide selection available. Keep up the good work!

The sushi is very bland and isn't fresh at all. Probably the worst sushi I've ever had. Not worth the price.

It's basically a fried shrimp sushi roll without the seaweed, and it's something I genuinely crave a couple times a week. My other go-to is the Hot Girl Summer roll. It has just the right amount of spice for this Louisiana girl. I always order it with extra eel sauce because honestly, I could drink that stuff. My friends ordered the Cowboy roll and the Elephant roll, and they said both were amazing and perfectly crispy. My partner always tries a new roll, but he only eats cooked or fried sushi. This is the one place he always chooses because the rolls are fried to perfection without being greasy or heavy. The service is good, and the atmosphere is always so cozy. We love this hidden gem and truly hope they get all the business they deserve.

The sushi tasted fresh and everything was really good, especially for the price. The restaurant was busy during lunch, which is usually a good sign. Because of that, it did take a while to get seated and a little bit before someone came to take our order. One downside was the seating. I got placed right in the sun and it was super hot during the meal. Overall, the food and prices were great. Just keep in mind if you're stopping in during the lunch rush, it might not be the quickest spot if you're on a tight lunch break. I'd still come back again.

Sushi, Gyoza, and Tempura, Oh My! A Tsunami of Flavor in South Jordan…read more If you're ever looking for a meal that's so good it makes you question your life choices (like why you didn't order more), Tsunami in South Jordan, Utah, is the place to go. My taste buds had a wild ride, and frankly, I'm not sure they've recovered yet. Let's start with the gyoza, which was as close to perfection as I've ever seen. These dumplings were practically holding a therapy session on my plate, saying, "It's okay, you don't need to share us." Crispy on the bottom, tender on the top, and served with a dipping sauce that I can only assume was brewed from the tears of angels. Next, we moved on to the sushi, which could only be described as the sushi equivalent of a red carpet event. The roll looked so perfect I almost felt bad eating it... almost. But then, I took a bite, and all those feelings of guilt went out the window. This sushi roll had layers of flavor that unraveled like a plot twist in a telenovela. Now, onto the tempura. You know how sometimes you get tempura and it's just a greasy mess? Not here. The tempura was light, crispy, and had the kind of crunch that makes you feel like you're in a satisfying ASMR video. I felt like a food critic from a fancy magazine as I dipped each piece into the sauce, which was so good I'm convinced it has magical properties. Overall, Tsunami is the kind of place that leaves you full but also slightly panicked because you realize you have to wait until the next visit to experience this level of food-induced happiness again. So, if you find yourself in South Jordan and have an appetite for deliciousness, don't miss out on this culinary wave of awesomeness. Just be prepared to get hooked, because one visit won't be enough! Had it not been for Natasha our experience would have been subpar Tsunami is Lucky to have her.
