    Massaman Curry
    Janae I.

My husband had been here before, and either he didn't make it sound good enough to go urgently, or I wasn't listening. I think it was the former. Regardless, I wish I had come here sooner, especially having driven by it countless times over the past 10 years. We came in on a Saturday night, and expected it to be busy, but it was pretty quiet. We were seated immediately. The interior is clean and decorated as you'd expect a Thai place to be. My son loved the giant butterflies in the party room. We got the tempura veggies--onion, carrots, bell peppers, and zucchini--all delicious. The broth for dipping was yummy. We shared the Massaman curry and pad see ewe. My 20 month old is obsessed with "cream," so we told him the Massaman sauce was cream, and he had SEVERAL helpings of the sauce on the rice. He also loves pasta, so the pad see ewe went over well with him as well. (We are doing our part to make sure this kid knows good food.) He happily ate leftovers as well. If our 20 month old loved it, then you know we did too. Mango sticky rice is probably one of my all-time favorite desserts, and theirs did not disappoint. The sushi is pricy, so we didn't get any. I have a go-to sushi spot and would be hard pressed to go anywhere else. But maybe someday I'll give it a go. All of our food came out quickly, which is especially important with a hungry baby in tow. For those who care, the bathroom is a single person room, which works great with a potty training toddler, but I don't recall a changing table which would be helpful with a baby in diapers. Our server initially seemed a little bit short/abrasive, but over the course of our meal she got really smiley and friendly and was talking with our baby. #redeemed Long story short, I will be back very soon. And if you haven't been, I confidently suggest you get there posthaste.

Came in randomly since we were hungry and wanted something to eat in the area. I was a bit suspicious at first since they seem to have too many food options. But soon after, I was glad we came in. Started off with the fried gyoza, and tuna roll (yummy). My husband got some special beef dish with pepper and I liked my pad Thai. The other roll we got with salmon and lemon slice on top wasn't as good as the spicy tuna. Quick and good service. Would recommend to a friend!!

The atmosphere was so calm, a very clean establishment, and the staff was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The FOOD was exactly what we were hoping for! So good.

Sometimes really good food can help set the mood for a wonderful experience. As was the case today. 4 generations at the table. My mom was hesitant because she didn't think she would be able to find anything she liked. Afterwards she was raving about how good the sweet and sour shrimp was the best she has ever had. My son got the volcano roll ( it comes out flaming) and oh so delicious. His wife got the Pad Thai and the baby loved the noodles. I got the Salmon with tempura vegetables, very good. It all comes out family style so we all shared. Everything was so delicious. Ambiance 5, service 5, food 5.

The food was great! We ordered off both menus. The sushi was good a couple of the rolls was very large and harder to eat a whole piece at once. The yellow curry was yummy, the tofu was kinda dry..... the service was great. They kept our waters full and checked on us plenty of times. They were very kind and helpful. They brought the wrong dishes to us a few times but no biggie. As for the ambience it was not up to date.... Very old school.

Ying's was a pretty solid experience! We tried out a couple of sushi rolls and the chicken teriyaki. The sushi was solid, the Philly roll and Dragon roll were a good size and very tasty. Probably some of the better rolls that I've had in the area. The chicken teriyaki came with steamed veggies and rice. It was decent, a little small as far the meat portion went, but still good. The menu has a wide variety of options and I would definitely try something new upon returning.

    Gyoza

Let's start with the positives. The menu has a good variety for both its Thai and Sushi menus. Now on to the rest: Most of their tables are for groups of four but they have some tables for up to six. The inside is a bit stale/old and could use a refresh for a better vibe. The sauce for the gyoza isn't great so I wouldn't recommend them for an appetizer. The drunken noodles were average. The service is painful. Really slow and they're terrible for drink refills.

Food was awesome! This place is such a hidden gem. I had miso soup, tempura shrimp, pineapple fried rice and yellow curry to share with the table. It was delicious and priced well. Took a chance here and ended up with a great experience and great food.

This place is great! Been here a few times and I've enjoyed it every time. I love how they have both Thai and sushi. I tried pineapple fried rice for the first time here and it was absolutely delicious! A must try for sure! You can't go wrong with Pad Thai. It was yummy and filling. The sushi is good and looks so pretty on the plate. We also ordered the sticky rice mango which was my first time trying that and I loved it! I highly recommend.

I'm really embarrassed! I get my hair cut just a few doors down from this place every few weeks and have driven by this place for several years and I can't believe I haven't tried it before today. The food is really good! I love Thai food and my wife isn't as fond of Thai as I am. I was able to get my curry fix and she was able to get a Japanese Bento Box. Everyone is happy! On their combo lunch I was able to try the Golden Chicken which was great too! The small side salad was an unexpected bonus. Loved the dressing. Can't wait to go back!

Ok, I really don't like leaving negative reviews for any businesses and if I have in the best the lowest I've left was 3 stars, but I wouldn't be leaving 1 If I didn't think this may be the biggest waste of your time and money. I came with only 3 other people, and I ordered food with appetizers (which is in this photo) at 7:40 pm, I had to go to the waiter and manager three times to ask when the appetizers at least coming and finally they brought them at 8:40 pm. I've never been to a place that took ONE HOUR to bring two plates of appetizers and not to mention they were COLD. We waited for longer than an hour now and I have considered to Just leave at this point. They have some party here and serving them nonstop food, but the 5 tables including ours that's been waiting longer than an hour not one "sorry" and no one would come up and offer even water. Don't come here. The food is frozen anyways. The waiter was so rude and cold to us saying "i warned you we're busy and it will be a little longer" and I said not longer than an hour. No other restaurant I been to ever had service like this.

Throughout the years I have heard great things about Mint so for our wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to finally try it out! I am so glad we did. Not only was it nice to skip the hassle of parking downtown but the food was great. Our server was amazing, with it being our first time she gave us a rundown of the menu and highlighted some favorites. The atmosphere of the restaurant was dim and chill. We ordered miso soups, the jalapeño hamachi, the beef tataki, the moonlight roll, and the apollo roll. I also ordered their sparkling sake which was a special and I loved it. The miso soups were delicious and priced well. The jalapeño hamachi is an award winning dish and I can see why. It was SO good. My husband actually saved the vinaigrette to try with other dishes. We also enjoyed the beef tataki, I did feel like it was a little on the chewy side but overall good. We loved the moonlight roll, the flavors and sweetness were good, I did feel like it was missing heat from the spicy tuna. The apollo roll was good, this roll also had spicy tuna and it was definitely hotter. Mint met our expectations and will definitely be a contender for our next sushi date night.

I used to be a big fan of Ika. I've brought countless friends here, I've raved about this place…read more Now I'm here to correct that mistake. The food quality has been slipping for months. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. That ends now. Today, we came as a group of five to celebrate my friend. What should have been a memorable evening became one of the most infuriating dining experiences I've had in years. After we sat down, our waitress was nowhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Even when we saw her, we flagged her down 3-4 times and were still ignored. I had to physically get up and chase someone down, and still waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our order. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress never once asked me or my friend's mom for our drink order- completely skipped over us. And when drinks did come out, she brought the wrong one to my friend's mom. When we asked for water refills. She filled two glasses out of five and walked off, when my glass was near empty. She then dropped a plate on our table. Moments later, I reached for the food and she snatched it back saying it was for another table. Rude doesn't begin to cover it. We asked for an extra spoon, a completely normal request, and it was met with a dirty look, as if we had asked for something outrageous. When I asked for extra ginger, she placed it at the farthest corner of the table. Whether intentional or not, it felt extremely careless and rude. We ordered uni nigiri, which is not a cheap order. It arrived without seaweed. I've ordered uni nigiri many times here, and it's always come with seaweed. When I flagged it, they didn't remake it, just shoved the seaweed under the rice. An insult to a $20+ piece of nigiri. Throughout all of this, this waitress had a visible attitude toward every reasonable request. What made it worse is that I'm Asian myself, and it was clear she was specifically singling out me and my friend's mom above everyone else at the table. The dismissiveness, the hostility, the microaggressions felt pointed and deliberate. I can only call it what it is: racism and sexism. No one should have to feel targeted at a restaurant they've loyally supported for years. Ika has lost a longtime champion. I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from setting foot in this place. Save your money, your time, and your celebration, and go literally anywhere else. ***Update*** I'd like to clarify a few things since the facts were misrepresented by your response. Funny you bring up my arrival time as if that somehow discredits me. I let my group know I would be a few minutes late, and it was not even close to being an hour. What matters is that after I sat down, our entire group waited 10-15 minutes waving down staff and being repeatedly ignored. I then got up and spoke to a different staff member who was filling ginger by the bar, not even our assigned waitress, and she had to find someone else to help us. That is not "flagging rudely", that is a group of paying customers desperately trying to get basic service. Again, there were only three tables including us. You're welcome to review your security footage to verify this. You claim you were watching closely, but if you were running a restaurant, I find it hard to believe you had the bandwidth to monitor our table that carefully. And if you really were watching, you'd know that we tried to flag down a waiter for over 10 minutes. You also never addressed how long the waitress took to take our orders, never asking me for my drink order, bringing my friend's mom the wrong drink, making a disgusted face when we asked for an extra spoon, dropping the wrong dish on our table and rudely snatching it away, and placing the ginger at the farthest end of the table. Funny how none of that made it into your response. Most importantly, you said nothing about your waitress's sexist behavior toward me and my friend's mother. We were singled out, dismissed, and treated with hostility that the rest of our table did not experience. That was the most egregious part of our visit and you chose to completely ignore it. The uni argument is not worth debating. Seaweed in nigiri is a global standard. Doubling down on that is just embarrassing. I even called that evening to provide this feedback directly, and was told the manager was not available and would call me back the next day. That never happened. Instead of having a conversation and being willing to listen, you chose to come onto Yelp and make this a personal attack against me. Our group was only there because of my recommendation. I was your advocate. That ends now, and so does any business I would have ever sent your way. Your response has only confirmed what kind of establishment this is. So as you said best, goodbye!

The Chicken Katsu was unfortunately more breaded than chicken so it was very crispy, almost like tasting close to burnt crispiness. The cost of the food, tax, and tip was about $18. Yes, I'll tip, but including that, $18 did not reflect the meal I was served. I will note, a lot of the stuff on the menu seemed pricey. I'm wondering if they are trying to properly balance food cost with the costs of the staff since I think there's 3-4 people working there? Another potential reason for high costs is that they are open till 3:30am. What I've noticed with stores open late at night is that because they are one of few stores actually open that late, they can charge higher prices and people will still buy from them. PLUS, if you are one of few stores open late, you can also get away with lower quality food. So if I had to bet, the pricing and quality of food is supposed to reflect super late night restaurant tactics. I'd only go here if it's the only place you're interested eating at past midnight.

It was empty except for one small family, so we we were seated right away. Our biggest struggle was communicating with the server. Not only was he new and very young, but there was a significant language barrier. We had to gesture and demonstrate to get our order across. Thankfully everything came out correctly! I got the coconut chicken, which honestly wasn't super coconutty. It was decent--kind of all of the (chewy) parts of the chicken you'd expect at this kind of restaurant. It came with lots of white rice, and lots of syrup, basically. We ordered a big plate of chow mein, which was good! We had a couple pieces of sashimi which were decent--not mind blowing nor bad. I wish I could remember what rolls we ordered, maybe the Rainbow roll? Both sushi rolls were really good. The portions across the entire table were very generous. My husband wants to return for that reason alone. I would come back and give some more rolls a try.
