Always a special treat when my wife and I get to patronize Water Moon and sit down and eat in their comfortable restaurant. We typically do a takeout, but this trip last August 2025 was a sit-down experience, and we are really glad we took the time. Our waitress was super helpful and conversational, especially when she heard that we were soon traveling to Okinawa, Japan, to see family. That was when she suggested trying their special beer from Okinawa, called "Orion". So I did, and it was fantastic. That really made me want to get to Okinawa just that much faster and experience Orion where it was brewed (Okinawa). Our dinner was fantastic as usual, as we both enjoyed our Mu-Shu Pork and some egg rolls. Someday I'll be daring enough to try the sushi, but for now, mu-shu pork loaded with Hoisin sauce will suit me just fine...oh, and some Orion beer too! My family and I stopped here on a whim while passing through, and were so pleased! Our server Raymond was fantastic and gave amazing recommendations. He convinced me to try the squid seaweed salad over the regular one, and I was blown away. For rolls- we had the Wynn Roll, Salmon Mata... something (I can't remember but it was amazing), and the Sugar House roll. All were incredible, but the Wynn roll was the winner. We also got a salmon bento, orange chicken, and ham fried rice. They were fine, but we will def stop by for the rolls & squid seaweed salad again. read more

Came in on a Friday and I think it was owner said it was a slow day. Got the Chinese for two Chowmein and beef and broccoli It comes with an appetizer soup and salad I enjoyed my meal. Nothing to complain. read more

Nearly empty at 12:45 on a Monday. Cool secluded booth in the wall. I got gluten free tempura because it seems like most of the gf reviewers were impressed with this and I thought it was just okay. The roll was only fine too. Maybe if it hadn't been SO expensive I would have enjoyed it more? I spent $40 on these two items and left hungry. Also, who serves a flaky crumbly gluten-containing roll an inch from a gluten free one? They're lucky I'm not celiac! $3 upcharge on every gluten free item and they're all pretty pricey to begin with. And isn't Utah sales tax below 8%? I didn't say anything because I was already so over it all. We really enjoyed our food. The chicken with garlic sauce was my favorite. Other favorites included the fortune double crunch roll and the sea hawk roll. I am a huge fan of water moon. I eat gluten free and am so happy to come to a place where there are so many options for me. When I come with my non gluten free friends they say they can taste the difference in the rolls but nothing too crazy. I usually get the ichi and playboy rolls. I only have a couple of holdbacks: -water moon advocates itself as a big gluten free place, but they don't mention they charge $3 for every gluten free roll. I'd recommend asking to swap x for x rather than explicitly asking for gluten free but it's not the end of the world if you have to pay a small fee. -the water tastes kind of dusty, I run into this at a lot of sushi places though. -the service is so efficient it almost feels like they expect you to know exactly what you want as soon as you walk in. -the ambiance is cute and fits the Chinese culture look but there is hardly ever anywhere here. I have never found a reason why that would be but it can feel eerie sometimes. Overall, great food, tons and tons of options, great service, no problems with eating gluten free. Watermoon never disappoints. Today we made our way to Watermoon to enjoy great sushi. The Hot and sour soup is great flavorful. With a touch of soy sauce it was perfect. I chose 3 sushi rolls and devoured them all. The Mars roll, the Lion Sheep, and the Crazy roll. They have a new item... Orange Beef. It might be something you should consider, if you like orange chicken. It's definitely different. My wife ordered the Walnut Shrimp. Just as good as she remembered from the last time. The waiter was very professional and prompt to fill our water and keep our table clean as plates were emptied. Price is average for most sushi establishments. Only issue... when they brought out the "orange beef" and asked us to try, they charged us for it. Bait and switch? Just watch out. Dropping my review to three because of this. They were able to accommodate our party of 11 with no issues. We still love it here but now thinking I may not come back for a while. Gluten free items available as well. read more

Food is always cooked to order, service is great...always keep your drinks filled. It's a casual restaurant but they also have booths if you want more privacy. Our favorites are their house special Watermoon Chicken followed by a close second of General Tso's. We also love ham fried rice and the Catonese noodles. The noodles are a great mix between pan fried and boiled, a little crispy with a sweet, brown sauce. Each family style entree comes with a side salad. Or you can get a bento box and customize your own meal. They have a wide offering of sushi, although this is not the first place I think of for sushi. read more

We so love the Wor Wonton soup. It's so full of everything mushrooms carrots meat and of course wantons. We also love their sweet and sour pork. They don't put the sauce on. That way you can heat back up the pork and it stays crispy on the outside. read more

Very mixed feelings on this place. I was told by a friend that they had gluten free options so when we got there I asked what the options were and they said they could make any item gluten free. I was shocked. We ordered three sushi rolls and the lemon chicken. We got the ichi roll, the lion sheep, and the samurai. The lion and ichi were ok. Nothing special but I did enjoy having tempura again since I have been gluten free for a while and the samurai was really yummy. My favorite. The lemon chicken however was really not the greatest with the gluten free breading. It wasn't terrible just not good either. The menu was already very pricey but what they neglected to mention to us is that they charged an extra $3 per item to make it gluten free so an extra $12 we were not planning on. We were $105 for the four items with tip. Just way way too expensive for the food quality. Probably won't go back. The server was nice but I would have appreciated the heads up on the gluten free up charge. Again just too pricey. read more
