I brought my wife here for our anniversary and our experience was fantastic! The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was everything you would expect at a fine restaurant. The food was next level! I liked that all entrées come with fresh bread, a salad, and homemade sorbet. The bread came warm and was nice and soft. Their house butter packed a lot of flavor. I almost filled up on the bread! I ordered the pork belly appetizer and would highly recommend it. Then came the salad. I'm not much of a salad person, but I loved it. They are the flagship restaurant of others, like Hoof And Vine, Epic and Wild Rose, all known for their fine American cuisines. One of the owners is a chef and, you can tell, because even the little touches, like the lemon sorbet ~ to help cleanse the palate, before your entree arrives, to the complimentary bread and unique butter flavors, really help compliment your meal. We enjoyed some surf and turf, with lamb, and my hubs is always drawn to the rib eye. We rounded everything off with some desserts. It was so delicious, that we're already making plans to hit up their sister restaurants too! Pro Tip: You can buy their butter. I already have plans with what I want to put it on. A cozy spot that offers a solid dinner experience! The staff was kind and attentive. The scallops were a tad salty but cooked well. The mussels were good, although there were a few empty shells. I enjoyed the flavorful butter that came with the complimentary bread, the salad, and the sorbet to cleanse your palate before your entree. The chicken, tenderloin of beef, and bison short rib special were all cooked well. All the plates came with pretty much the same vegetables, would have been nice to have a bit of variety but the vegetables were still tasty. My brother in law and I were 45 minutes from a movie starting, made reservations with OpenTable just in case. We told the server about our time crunch and she accommodated us and made sure items were coming out in a timely fashion. My favorite thing is still the house salad, it has been the exact same thing for over 10 years or more and always consistent. The pork belly and triple brie cream cheese was also tasty. The mint lemonade always changes in sweetness and sourness when we go. This time it was a perfect balance. The complementary bread and pimento cheese sweet butter always great. For sure will be back, and I know it is weird the menu has never changed in ages but when they do it right and great service do not have much to complain about. read more

If you have to put the words "fine dining" in your name, you're trying too hard and probably not fine dining. We came for a birthday celebration and none of our 6 would come back. Every dish was weirdly plated. I usually take pics at restaurants to share on Yelp, but this place is so dimly lit for dinner that it wouldn't look right anyway. Plus I was so disappointed with them it wasn't worth trying to edit them. DO NOT get the $100 Wagyu steak... the filet mignon tasted WAY better and my son who ordered it said he bought Wagyu beef from Walmart (I know, right?!?) that he did at home and it was better. When I told the server on our way out that the Wagyu was dumb, she didn't seem to care and asked how my salmon was... ok but not great either. I'm not usually this harsh with my reviews, but I think it was so lackluster, especially for a special occasion, that I couldn't think of anything good to say. Plus we were paying for everyone. Oh, and more than 4 gets an automatic 20% gratuity added... usually places will do a 15-18% built-in gratuity and we up it to 20 with good service... maybe that's why our service was sub par because they knew they'd get a fixed amount anyway. read more

Honestly this place is a scam. The food was mediocre. Nothing above the Cheesecake Factory. But it took literally forever to get our food. We had a 9:30 reservation and was seated immediately. Ordered very soon also. But we didn't get our main courses for almost an hour. Seemed like they waited for us to finish the salads that we thought came with the main course. We sat there and waited for so long I thought they'd forgotten about our food. As soon as the salads were picked up they asked if we were ready for our food. I thought it was a joke. We already had appetizers. Then they came out and gave us "Pallet cleansers" which was a scoop of sorbet. Cute but who wants to eat a bite of pineapple sorbet in between mussels and steak. When the food came my potato's were cold on top and my food had 10x the sauce than my brothers had and we got the same thing. So the inconsistency was very apparent. But let's talk about their horrid wine selection. I've seen better wine sold at airports. If you call yourself anything with fine dining in the title and have wine in visible cases then I'd expect the wine selection to be incredible. When On top of that we ordered a bottle of Dom and they didn't have it. They also didn't have a few other champagnes. Like if a customer orders a bottle of Dom Perignon and you don't have it and then don't have the more expensive option what are you doing calling yourself fine dining. We are visiting from out of town, celebrating a family member's birthday and wanted to have a special dinner. There wasn't any particular dish that I loved, but our server, Christa, was great. Gratuity was included in our bill, which may have been because we were a larger party. Warm bread is brought to the table with a savory flavored butter. It's very good! Crab cakes- I didn't like because the meat was broken down a lot and I like crab cakes to have bigger chunks of meat. Chicken and polenta- sautéed chicken and mushrooms in a sweet brown sauce with a grainy polenta patty wasn't my favorite. Scallops- perfectly cooked. Delicious. All of our entrees came with garlic mashed potatoes and unseasoned steamed carrot and asparagus. New Zealand elk- the elk was delicious. The creamy green peppercorn demi glace was perfect with it. Salmon- very good. I liked the flavor and color of how well they pan seared the salmon. Swordfish- this was their special today. It was my least favorite entree. The fish was grilled, bland, served with a creamy corn sauce. New York strip- I ordered this for my 3 kids to share. The kitchen kindly split it up for them. The 13 oz steak was a perfect size for them to share and they each had their full sides on their plate. It is a $10 split fee. We were brought a complimentary creme brûlée for the birthday boy. It was thin, runny, and did not hold its shape. My kids still ate it though. Overall, an underwhelming experience and I would not visit again. The quality wasn't there for the price. For a meal that was almost 500 dollars, I felt the charges should've been detailed on the bill, but they were not. read more

So I went to this place expecting big things given the reviews and the website claims. I ordered the pan sired salmon. The salmon was completely raw in the middle and I asked for them to send back and cook another, the 2nd salmon was still raw and it had to be taken back a third time. At the end of the night as I was leaving the table next to me also confessed they ordered the same thing and both there plates of salmon were raw. I was absolutely shocked beyond belief that given the experience and the fact I had to wait another 15 min to eat they would charge me for my meal. I have had restaurants comp my meal just for having to re-fire my meal even once but 2 times? Absolutely unacceptable. Bottom line I didn't experience the fine dining part they so love to lead you to believe. I really didn't like the meal even when the salmon was finally cooked, the salmon should be the star of your dish but it was hiding under an absurd amount of bacon. From what I saw with other tables, all the meat from ribeye to fillet was also covered in sauce. I really hate giving negative reviews but honestly I felt very taken advantage of and honestly I found the whole experience and food wanting.. The only reason this place was not 1 stared is because of the atmosphere. It was very elegant and romantic. The prices given the food we received are absolutely not worth it. I can see allot of folks who don't eat at many fine dining restaurants think that those prices are acceptable particularly if they eat at fast food places but they really aren't. For those prices I fully expected my palate to be blown away with flavor and spices and unfortunately they fell way below that mark. It's been roughly 15+ years since my wife and I last patronized the Tiburon here in Sandy, we're not sure why. So, for my wife's birthday, we returned in August and looked forward to a nice quiet venue and some fine dining. Well, we got the fine dining, but a quiet venue it was not. We went on a Tuesday night and found their back patio was open and a small trio was playing some music. After going in, we decided to eat inside but ended up a face-to-face arrangement along the main aisle leading out to the rear patio...and in perfect alignment with the trio playing music. That, and there was a party of a dozen folks in the front dining room and that was a source of chatter as well. So you know, I'm a big fan of jazz and the trio was paying some nice stuff...but the ambient racket kinda' drove my wife crazy as she has a hearing loss but a very efficient hearing aid...and she was picking up EVERYTHING! My wife had the salmon, and I had the seared Ahi Tuna, and both meals were very nicely done with some bread/butter and a salad that we both really liked a lot. It was great to experience some nice Ahi again...and a big thanks to the late Jim Ormston for that intro way back in '99. Overall, it was a nice experience but I think it would have been better if we came a little later after the crowd died down and the jazz trio had finished their last set (and a little cooler outside too!) Overall Four Stars for a nice dinner and relaxing albeit slightly noisy atmosphere. read more

From start to finish, this place was worth the trip. We were greeted and seated right away (with a reservation). The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the items on their menu and wine list. We got the special (halibut) and a filet, as well as crab cakes. Each entree came with a delicious salad, sorbet, and fresh bread with a unique butter. Everything was delicious, filling, and had a solid economic value. Too often I leave fancy restaurants not feeling full and feeling like a did not get what I paid for. This was absolutely not the case with Tiburon. I'm so glad I finally went, rather than driving by for the hundredth time! read more

The food was excellent! We enjoyed Seared Scallops and Crab Cakes for our appetizer. The appetizers were followed by a tasty house salad and a palate cleansing watermelon sorbet. We had the Atlantic Salmon and New Zealand Lamb Tenderloin as our main dish. The meal was topped off with a New York style cheesecake. All the food was cooked and plated to perfection. The service was adequate as you would expect at a restaurant like this. The fenced in patio where we were seated was also lovely. However this is where it took a turn for the worse. Prior to our entrées arriving we saw three or four rats scurry along the fence. Then to our shock one of them darted underneath the table. It then proceeded to watch us eat from a nearby tree. It has to be said it was difficult to enjoy the meal after this occurred. We notified staff but they seemed rather unfazed by the situation. Overall the food was outstanding and the service was good. However we are very disappointed by the presence of rats in the restaurant, hopefully this is not a reoccurring issue. read more

What a pleasant surprise, everything was beyond belief delicious, We ordered crab cakes and they had the most amazing sauce with them. Special of the Day was Surf and Turf so we had to jump on it. It was served with a beautiful fresh salad with sun dried tomato. Filet was prepared just perfect one was medium rare and the other was well done. Both steaks were served hot! Our server was awesome he was very helpful and explained the preparation of the vegetables etc. I can't remember his name but I know that he use to live in Las Vegas. He was awesome! Oh. My. God... This place is AMAZING! The bread was very good - served with a whipped butter concoction that will probably be made illegal. So good! The salad was a mixed greens salad, which my wife and I each dislike. But the dressing was so good, we ate every bite! A palette-cleansing blackberry sorbet, made from berries grown on-site was easily the best sorbet I've ever had. That may not be saying much, as I'm no sorbet aficionado, but it's a bar I don't ever think will be topped. My wife had the filet, which was excellent. I had the chicken. The person who designed that chicken dish is an artiste, and the one who cooked it was an expert! I've never had such a perfectly-cooked, tender, thick chicken breast - ever. It was PERFECT! The sauce - a merlot Demi-glacé with shallots, I think - was amazing, and the roasted red peppers and jalapeño cheddar grits were a great flavor mix. The chocolate mousse dessert was served with chopped toasted almonds, strawberries, blueberries, and a chocolate bark. The mouse itself was a little gritty, but the flavors were superlative. The chopped almonds added something indescribable. 99/100! Mask discipline was impeccable too! read more

I really hate to be negative about a local spot, but it needs to be said this place is a little flawed considering it's claims. I agree with others that the prices do not fit the plates and claiming "fine dining" is far from the experience. What makes this place unique is that they harvest their own vegetables from their garden which is placed right next to the restaurant. But I will let you know, they really tasted no different from what's in your fridge at home and were not prepared in a unique way at all. It all mostly lacked spices let alone salt. Try lackluster and most just seemed to be boiled. Nothing had flavor and when it did, it was far from pleasant. I was in the mood for a filet, ordered medium rare. It was cooked to perfection but little did I know it would be doused and covered in a red wine sauce! It ruined the steak and I felt it was inconsiderate and a very out dated way of serving a steak. The steak should speak for itself and be left as is. A few positives were the salad.. But you aren't given any choice of dressing? It just came as is with a sweet vinaigrette. Luckily, I enjoyed it along with the freshly made cantaloupe ice cream to cleanse your pallet afterward. I also ordered a mint infused lemonade. This lemonade was not made fresh, it reeked of being poured from a grocery store jug.. and the mint part??? Well, it was just a little mint leave dropped in there to somehow fit the menu description. Also, the pineapple juice?? Not a surprise.. a canned cocktail pineapple juice was poured into a nice glass.. Like, who are you trying to fool?? I was not amused and felt like my wallet was being taken advantage of. I was told the appetizer scallops were a "must have". The waitress really had me believe this claim.. Well, it was also a let down. Bland, bland, bland!!! I asked for salt and was given some dollar tree salt and pepper shakers.. Im really missing the fine dining part.. The menu is just too small and doesn't seem to offer anything interesting besides the Elk.. which was not memorable and also covered and hiding under some sauce.. It was all just a hard no for me. The waitress I had saw I was unhappy with my filet and offered the Salmon.. I was so done being disappointed, I politely declined. At that point I wanted to get out of there and never return. The prices are "fine dining" -- but little else keeps pace. One enters and immediately notices that "fine dining" is going to be a stretch. "Casual dining" - that is certainly supported by the basic interiors. The menu does not offer many (any?) local options. I ordered the Elk as I figured it was as close as I could get - but was disappointed to learn that it was from New Zealand (the lamb is also flown in from New Zealand). So we've driven past this tiny restaurant many many timees and never stopped. I think we might have eaten here YEARS ago for a celebration of some sort but I don't remember anything about it. But tonight we were invited to go with some friends, so we did. We made reservations so we would be sure to get a table. As soon as we walked in and told them that we had reservations, they asked us our name and then asked if we wanted to look at a wine menu. We said no thank you. She said ok great. Your table is right here then. And sat us at the only table that was in the bar. Ironic since we didn't drink. It was right next to the front door as well, and had a lot of wait staff traffic. So the seating wasn't the best. But the waitress was quick to bring drinks and take our orders. The bred and "butter" spread were delicIous! We ordered more of that! Our salads were delicious! I cleaned the plate. All 4 of our entrées were delicious! And even the tiny little cucumber sorbet they brought as a pallet cleanser after the salad was delightful. I ordered the only chicken dish they offered, others ordered the elk dish, surf and turf, and fillet mignon. We all cleaned our plates. Delicious. But honestly not huge portions. I wasn't stuffed after eating all of that. And I feel like I should have been. Especially with how expensive it is! We did look at a dessert menu but nothin really jumped out at us, so we didn't get anything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They were quIck to clear off dishes and bring our food out from the kitchen. It was a very nice dinner. I would go back.
