Great pizza! Excellent partnership with Ambitious Ales on Atlantic and Carson. Sweet and spicy pizza is a favorite!

For 16 inch three topping pizza for $28, pizza was average. They don't even give you that much toppings either. I just expected more for the amount of money I spent. Parking is average what I didn't like is that they only allow you to have five parmesan cheese packets. I go to mod pizza and they let me have as much as I want. What's the big deal. For the price I expected more. I think it's just overpriced for what it is. MOD is better. read more

We went to Thunderbolt Pizza for their soft opening. The menu was limited and after speaking to the team, I learned they expect to add stuff over the next weeks. First, the staff is really friendly! I love that they took the time to talk about their menu and plans for the future. Score for being welcoming and friendly. The pizza was really good. Crisp, thin crust. High quality ingrediants and very tasty sauce. Overall, excellent pizza! I am excited to go back as the menu grows and taste more pizza. Try Thunderbolt, support a new, local business and get some great pizza! read more

Decided to try out a new pizza place last night. I ordered the large butcher, well done, with extra pepperoni, mushroom, and jalapenos for pickup. As soon as I walked in, the place smelled "right," and I was excited to try the food. The gentleman behind the counter (I assume he was the owner) was very friendly and explained the daily preparation process from dough to sauce. I rate pizza on a few levels: 1- How is the crust- I asked for the pizza to be well done because I prefer crunchy crust/dough so the pizza doesn't fall on itself/you can enjoy the dough as well. This is how the pizza was given to me (5 Stars) 2- Flavor- The flavor was there but was a little unbalanced (reviewed in toppings), but everything together was solid. (4.5 Star) 3- Toppings- for ordering "Extra" pepperoni, and additional toppings, I felt like this was slightly "lacking." Pizza didn't look like it had "extra pepperoni". Some of the toppings were only on a few pieces of pizza VS equally distributed throughout. (4 stars) 4- Price- all in all, the total was around 35$. It felt a little high then, but when I got home to enjoy it, it was worth it. (4.5) 5- Because I'm old- Did the tomato sauce give me heartburn? This is something I've added to my "rating" for the last 5 (ish) years and is probably one of the more important (IMO). IT DID NOT! It did not give me an upset stomach or any heartburn. (5 STARS!). All in all, id rate it at a 4.5 star, but that's me being hypercritical and why I've put 5. Overall, I will definitely return. This was one of the better pizza spots I've had in the area. read more

Great Pizza, beer and atmosphere, oh yes, the staff is super nice as well. We were going to head over to the fourth horsemen in DTLb, but decided to try something different. We were glad that we made the short drive. The pizza dough, sauce and ingredients were very fresh. Will definitely come back again! Also, 15% discount for Millitary/Veterans. read more

Just three stars. The food we ordered was pretty good. We got the the mozzarella sticks, the Brooklyn style pizza, and a beer. Can't go wrong with the mozzarella sticks, only thing is that I wish they'd give more of the marinara sauce. The pizza was actually really good. I'd recommend that one if you're unsure what to go with. The beer was good too. The reason why I'm giving it a 3 star rating is because the beer was 6.50 on the menu but I was charged 8 dollars. I know most places are upping prices for inflation or whatever but either update the menu or honor the prices that's on there. Not sure if I'll come back. I'm torn because I liked the food but the change up in beer price kind of ruined the first time experience for me. read more

Our family is overjoyed to finally have an amazing local pizzeria in Bixby Knolls. We have really enjoyed every pizza we've tried here--our top two favorites so far are the colpo di fulmine and the winter white. Every flavor in these pizzas has depth and quality...my mouth is watering right now as I write this (even though I just stuffed myself with them for dinner!) The pepperoni one is drizzled with a little bit of honey (!) which balances the sweet and spicy perfectly. Just tried the parmesan one and am also in love: fresh kale, lemon, mozzarella, and mushrooms...and the crust is chewy and soft. Go try their pizza now, you won't regret it--in fact, you'll keep coming back, like we have. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! So glad these guys are here in Bixby! Jay was such a pleasure to meet and to see how excited and enthusiastic he was to be apart of the neighborhood and provide us some delicious NY pizza. Reuben was also in the back holding it down making these delicious pies, shout out Reuben! I was recommended the Butchers Pizza. Amazing choice! It came with smoked sausage, ham, and pepperoni. If you are in a hurry they also offer cheese/pepperoni by the slice. They also had a great selection of beers as well! With them constantly adding things to the menu and dishing out great quality pizza, I'll be there at least twice a week! Thanks guys!! read more

If I could give them 10 stars, I would! I had my graduation lunch here. They were able to accommodate my party of 25 in the outdoor patio area. I've been waiting to write a good review for a restaurant for a while! So glad we finally tried our new neighborhood pizza place! This is now our fave spot. Better than any other pizza we have had in a while. The sauce used on the pies tastes like it came from Italy. And the dough is perfect and thin. Everything tasted fresh and amazing! Get the garlic knots! Delivery was super quick! Can't wait to order again! read more

I wish you could give half stars. This is three and a half stars! I wanted to be struck by lightning this was so good. But it did not live up to my expectations. The good news; the pizza! It is legit Brooklyn style. The runner up is the garlic knots. I could of used more oil and cheese bits. I rubbed the carton dry. The salad was a good size and quality. The issue was it came with the dressing already on it and there was so little you couldn't taste it. The mozzarella sticks were disappointing. The cheese wasn't melted at all inside. I would return for the pizza and garlic knots. It's way better than domino's or pizza hut crap. read more

Stopped by Ambitious Ales and had the chance to try this new local pizza spot. The garlic knots are amaaaaaazing!!!! Pepperoni is also aaaammmaaazing lol. Moral of the story is, come try them out. They're menu isn't complete since they've only had their soft opening, but still worth a visit! read more

Jay is so dang nice! We called and ordered the Bixby Butcher and garlic knots. The crust & knots had a wonderful flavor and the toppings were quality & yummy. Sadly, Jay was out of the Roasted Root Vegetable salad, but he offered me some options. He made a yummy arugula salad with mushrooms & cherry tomatoes. It was delicious with a balsamic vinaigrette. read more

I ordered two 12" pizzas. Pepperoni and sausage on one, pepperoni, sausage, onions and olives. A little skimpy on the onions and olives. I could barely see the onions. Good flavor. Stop being skimpy on the toppings. read more

Decided to try new pizza place with vegan options in Bixby Knolls. I ordered the veggie supreme with daiya cheese, it was definitely enjoyable. Called in to order a pizza. Always come here. Told me they could not take a phone order because they have a large party and cannot accommodate me. I had to call dominos pizza because thunder bolt pizza refused my business. Last time I spend my money here. Hope the owners that always sits in the corner on his computer is appalled. read more

I must start by saying that I truly love pizza and I'm not really picky when it comes to pizza. I ordered 2 pizzas today, one vegetarian and one The works. They were both terrible. Both were pretty soggy and dough were burned pretty bad. The combination of soggy and burnt dough was absolutely disgusting. I ordered these for lunch for our team at work and we each ended up having half a piece and we threw the rest in trash. I must say this was the worst pizza I have ever had. My first time eating here but as much as I wanted to love theirs pizza I must say I won't be returning. read more

Best pizza far and wide. Casual ambiance and great service! I highly, highly recommend this place if you are a pizza lover!!!

Brought the family in last week during their soft opening. My grandkids had been stopping by to pet the owners dog during construction. Brookyln style pizza, not to be confused with NY style. Thunderbolts pizzas rival any in Long Beach, and we have tried them all. Thin crust, great char, not wet like some thin crusts, great chew. toppings were first rate, the pepperonis is a religious experience. What really stands out is the mozzarella thery are using, sliced not shredded, cooks up perfect, no burn and complements to topppings perfectly. making this a weekly stop for dinner. read more

Yum!! We made our own pizza (sausage, peppers and hot honey) and it was amazing. The dough was so perfect. We also got their bone-in chicken wings and LOVED them and the creamy sauce it comes with. Highly recommend this place. read more

Yes they have gluten free BUT this was a very disappointing experience tonight 3/13/24. It's an extra charge for GF and vegan cheese; I get that but does that mean you don't get hardly any toppings at all? There were 3 FLAKES of chicken on the whole pizza. And we waited FOREVER for our food. After 1/2hour I went to ask what happened?! I think they forgot and started making it then, then forgot the garlic knots. People who came after us had gotten their food, ate and already left by the time we FINALLY got ours. Of course because I was starving! Then the stupid cannoli they didn't bother making until we were ready to leave and that took 10 minutes! Seriously I don't want to come back, they cheaped out on their toppings and took FOREVER. read more

I dont write much if reviews, cause i am very picky when it comes to pizzas, cause i am a big fan of "right pizza" and i hate most of the pizzas in LA area, that dont deserve to be called pizza. So my friend Nick says he has BEST PIZZERIA OF LONG BEACH, NO QUESTION". Of course i went to try that pizza. 1) First if all, this pizzeria is managed regularly by owner Jay, he is nice and he is there, which is a big plus. This is owner operated! 2) The crew is very nice and chilly people 3) real fireplace pizza!!! Pizza fans know the difference of unhealthy gas stove pizza and real fireplace pizza 4) Jay put a lot hardwork cause i am a muslim that wants to try HALAL PEPPERONI, and guess what, he is picky and gets ingredients for "no pork pepperoni" which makes him more uqique! 5) After all, the place itself looks fancy and clean, definitely a place to visit with your family. I will regularly order their pizza or visit this place! read more

The BEST pizza I've ever had! Ridiculously good crust and quality toppings and cheese! Better than Mozza, Pizzanista, Gjelina, and even most places in New York. Their beer selection is awesome and the Flat Iron chili pepper flakes are a nice touch. We had the Chicken wings which were perfectly seasoned and so addicting with their homemade ranch which is sooo good. The Garlic knots were OMG the absolute BEST!!! So soft and chewy, crispy and lots of garlic, then served with a side of delicious house made marinara. We also had their pepperoni pizza and Margherita pizza which were outrageously good! We were amazed that the crust was so thin yet stayed crispy the whole time and never got soggy and floppy like all the other pizza places that do a thin crust. I can't believe that they're not listed on best of L.A. because they really should be. Thank you for making the most delicious pizza in L.A! Hope you get the recognition you deserve. read more

Just visited at 11:45 am on Tuesday and they were closed. No sign of activity note on the door, or opening hours in the window. Nothing. It makes me think perhaps they've gone out of business. If they have changed their hours, they need to update their Yelp entry and their website. I've heard from the owner that they are only closed for construction of the patio but where's the note on the door or your website? I may have missed this but I'm pretty sure I didn't. read more
