I'm not sure how to rate this place. It's 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 because they don't harm any animals. I'm all for fully vegan restaurants! And I love seeing more of them. But I'm also, generally, in favor of cooking my food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and very "Boulder" hippie. The people working there were very nice. I visited during a lunch break at a conference at CU, and the food was served fast enough that I was able to walk over, eat my meal, and get back in time. The meal I had a Thrive (a raw food/healthy version of a bacon cheeseburger) tasted good, though my stomach felt a bit odd a couple of hours afterwards, which doesn't usually happen to me. (I eat vegan 95% of the time and vegetarian the rest, so it's not like I was unused to high fiber, etc.) It's *very* pricey for the portion size, though. And they have kombucha on tap, which is rad. But it's laughably expensive - the small was over $4 and was literally served in a tiny self-serve water cup! read more

What a fun little vegan raw food cafe bustling with energy from their man bun-sporting and smiling staff !! Had one of their superfood salads, which was enormous and came with a creamy spirulina-based dressing. Everything on their menu is going to make you feel like a sparkly new human after consuming it. Only thing to note is that they intentionally do not offer wifi in this cafe, so if you're looking for a spot to study or do work -- this would not be the place. Also the seating is pretty limited to a few small tables inside and bar style seating, so this is best for solo diners or groups of two. read more

I have been here twice since I arrived in Boulder and I feel it is not only a warm and mindful atmosphere but the two things I bought were incredible and I knew I was doing something loving for myself and my body because of the quality ingredients. Raw vegan food is typically a bit pricey, but this place had reasonable prices. We ordered the "pad thai" & taco salad bowl. Both were dense in good nutrition and very filling. Pad Thai was just okay to me, while the taco salad bowl had great sauce and flavor throughout. Workers were very friendly and personal. Great vibes from them. Also, amazing esoteric art around the restaurant. What threw me off about this place the most was the extremely loud & distracting dubstep/trance music that was playing throughout our meal. Adding to that, I spotted sizable bugs on the wooden side table (which is an awesome table) and even observed one crawl into the napkin dispenser. It was a beetle the size of my index finger nail. When I become a true Thrive regular (and I intend to), I may end up boosting my rating to five stars. I discovered this establishment via another restaurant website that offers discounts. I was immediately intrigued by the raw and vegan fare. My partner and I ordered two salads and a dessert and sat outside at one of the many patio tables to enjoy them. Enjoy them we did! Even though our dessert arrived before our salads, the Egyptian Sunrise porridge was the perfect introduction to Thrive. So many delicious ingredients that easily transport the eater to North Africa. The sprouted almond "mylk" with its pudding-like texture was a perfect vessel for the crunchy cacao and the beautiful pop of cardamom. The porridge is quite filling and the remainder made for a great late-night snack. The Rainbow Magic salad was also filling and half was saved for next day's lunch. My only disappointment was the tumeric dressing, as it packed more color than flavor. The salad was perfectly dressed, however. Why was I disappointed? Because the Pad Thai dressing was incredible! (Next time, I will be asking to have the Pad Thai dressing on my Rainbow Magic salad!) Spiralized zucchini is the raw foodie's dream substitute for pasta or noodles, and Thrive does a wonderful job of using this element. I also enjoyed the marinated broccoli and mushrooms, although fresh mushrooms would have worked nicely as well. If you are concerned about the prices, don't be! As I mentioned, all three items were taken home and finished. That means for the price of an $8.88 salad, you will have two healthy, filling meals for $4.44 each! Again - trusty old Yelp connected me with Thrive. I find it hard to locate raw/vegan options when traveling. Based on Yelp, I sought this out when traveling. It was between meals and the family was going to need to eat when we ate next, so I didn't get a meal. I just got some treats for later. I had the raw "kookie" - It was ok. I've made something quite similar at home and didnt like the recipe enough to make it again. I felt the same about this kookie - not worth the approx $4 it cost. It was oats, cacao nibs, nut pulp. Just ok. I also got the salted caramel and almond butter cup. They were both good. The raw brownie may have been the best option though I would have like that to have had some more oomph to it too. I had the chocolate kale chips and I kept wavering between thinking they were ok to really liking them and going back for more. I can't place what was on them that was a different taste to my palate that kept drawing me back. If I were local, I could see coming here often. *Note - though I didnt order it the raw pad thai looked so good! I watched one order being prepared. If i had gotten dinner there, this would have been my choice. It was a good size as well. Later in the day I did regret not getting it. I am vegan and enjoy creative raw vegan dishes on occasion. However when walking here on an empty stomach I didn't realize this was a raw restaurant. So my expectations ended up being on the lower side bc I think it's something you often need to be in the mood for --- or at least not expecting a hot cooked meal. I was a little skeptical of the vegan pizza but I got it and it was deliciousssss! Im definitely going to try to make my own raw vegan pizza now. The crust was very flavorful and the cashew cream was perfect on the tomato sauce. I wish there were more veggies but appreciated the mushroom and broccoli pieces. I like the atmosphere here, it's super hippie and chill with good music and great vibes. The decor is really cool, huge crystals, carved wood, taro cards, etc. You will be entertained. Seating is limited, BUT we have never had a problem finding a seat either at the window counter top or outside table on a sunny day. Their soups are delicious, the broccoli cheddar is my favorite, then comes the miso and the mushroom! I've gotten the taco salad (it's on the specials board), it's so satisfying and nutritious at the same time. My boyfriend loves the pad Thai salad, he gets it every time. The Bad: Limited seating inside (but tons of outdoor seating) nd limited parking. Simply a must whenever one finds themselves in Boulder! Their flax chips with nacho sauce are great. Be warned though - the flax chips are much more filling than they look like. Have half and save the rest for later. Eat the full serving and you won't be hungry again for a day and a half! I really liked their cheesecake. It was even better because I walked it back to my hotel and let it come up to temperature. As for the smoothies, the only one I tried was the Natural High. This is a must-order item. So delicious! This place was such a treat to find popping into town over the weekend. Super healthy and yummy! Organic, raw, vegan. I had the Tropical smoothie and pad Thai minus the broccoli it was delish! I also had the kale chips I got the nacho cheese but he let me sample the chocolate coconut flavor and I'll be back tomorrow for that super tasty and unusual combo.
