Rush Bowls delivers an amazing Açaí bowl near University of Colorado Boulder. The food was delish - very fresh, tasty, and high quality ingredients. Service was quick and very friendly (my server answered all of my many questions). The only down side is that there are only four stools outside the main building and no bathroom. read more

Every time I come here I order the same few things and they always taste and look different. Today at 11am I ordered a dragon bowl which is supposed to have granola, coconut, and chocolate sauce as the included toppings. I also told the worker I wanted to include banana and substitute gluten free granola instead of regular. Imagine the look on my face when I received this bowl. Not only did they forget my banana topping which I paid for, they also forgot to add every single default topping. Absolutely had a horrific experience at this establishment. I've been to Rush Bowls a handful of times and I've never had a bad experience until today. I came in and saw a guy (perhaps a manager) speak to his employees in a very hostile way. The young lady that was helping me was VERY friendly and asking me about my day when the manager ignored by presence and whispered something her, that caused her to start crying. In my experience, this sort of behavior of managers to young employees is completely inappropriate and made me feel bad for the young lady. However, after reading though other comments, seems like this managers behavior is not uncommon. Would not recommend coming here, simply because of how poorly employees are being treated. read more

Usually they have fruit on top but this looked more like a glorified smoothie with some granola and honey. I was a bit disappointed gotta be honest, especially for the price that I paid (around $8). Like a smoothie, but also like granola and yogurt a Rush Bowl is the perfect combination of blended fruit, granola and honey. It is a delicious treat that I get absurd cravings for at random times. My favorite is the lemon squeeze bowl. Cons: if it is crowded, it can take a while to get your rush bowl. It is all on the pricier end for something I consider a delicious snack. I buy their pre-packaged bowls in whole foods and add in my own honey, but the pre-packed bowls are made with carrageenan which is an ingredient I try to avoid. read more

I have spent my last 3 summers in Boulder and this place never disappoints. Especially 7/22 at about noon. I came in for a smoothie because I was not feeling all that great and smoothies are something simple to drink, but all of the sudden I felt especially faint. The 2 girls working there were extremely nice and got me a chair and some water and let me hang out until I felt better. Almost passing out in public is never a good thing, but I was glad these girls were there and nice about the whole thing. The staff was extremely dispassionate about how they made the bowls and didn't engage basic customer service (eye contact, full sentences, etc). In addition, for what you pay for (about $9 on average) there is no fresh fruit on top-- it's simply a smoothie in a cup with granola and honey on top. This seems to be the only acai bowl place in Boulder so for now it might fly, but given any competition I imagine this offering at Rush will not seem very generous. read more

Walking in to rush bowls my expectations were virtually non existent. I had never had a rush bowl before so I asked an employee, Shelby, for her opinion on what to order. Her and the rest of the staff on duty were not only very helpful, but also very welcoming and warm. My bowl was deliciously prepared although overpriced. Up to that point this place was easily a 4 star experience but then the owner walked in. This guy gave off the vides you got from that prick gym teacher in high school you hated. He came in and immedietly started demeaningly addressing the staff in a way that made even the customers uncomfortable. Smoothies- great. Business-needs some work. I'm a consistent customer. It's perfect to pick up a bowl before class if you're in school or to get one for a light lunch on your lunch break. I go to nekter and alfalfas for smoothies too and rush has the best tasting smoothies around. They are also the cheapest and have the largest selection. If getting a smoothie was simply about the smoothie, everyone would go to rush every time. BUT going in this place is terrible. Because I have gone a lot, I feel that I'm not judging it harshly. They are usually friendly, but unprofessional. Often the employees are hiding in the back (I'm not blaming them, as there are no chairs for them in the front area). More importantly, I have heard gossiping (loudly and openly) a few times I've gone. Coworkers talking about each other in mean ways, swearing, etc. the music that is played depends on who is working. NOTE-YOU CANT BRING KIDS HERE! why? Because if there is a guy working that likes crude music , then the n word and b word are being yelled at you. I'm not exaggerating. The music is LOUD. and I learned the hard way that you cannot bring kids here because of the chance of blasting curse words. (Sensor it at least!) I actually googled if it's illegal to blast curse words in stores after that experience. Overall, owner, if you're reading this- know I'm a HUGE fan of your smoothies and bowls. They are the best, reasonably priced, and there are so many good choices to fit all my moods... BUT theres a reason I go to nekter instead (paying more for what I think tastes worse). I want to walk into a place that is as clean and fresh as the smoothies you're selling. If your place had more light, less cursing and gossiping, and a more clean feel (greens and blues and whites, simple design, professional font, etc) YOUR BUSINESS WOULD NO DOUBT EXPAND. you have the product and it's kept me coming.
