    French Dip Sandwich
    Lindsey M.

My bad pictures really don't do this place justice. Best BLT of my life. Great ratio of bacon, lettuce, and tomato, perfectly toasted bread. Scrumptious! The French Dip had tender, thinly sliced, stacked, flavorful beef, and a soft but chewy roll. The au jus was too garlicky for my daughter, but it was actually amazing. Quick, friendly service and reasonable prices. I wouldn't want to stay and eat there because it's a bit claustrophobic, but it definitely has an old school diner feel to it.

The person who took our order was rude and abrupt. I had the classic meatloaf and gobbler meatloaf never came was a Lou with peperchino. Had to wait another 20 min for the entire order

Lots of pastries and treats here. I got the blueberry scone and it was yummy. I prefer scones a bit denser but this was pretty good. The coffee I got wasn't great though and it was cold. Other than that not bad place to get a treat but you could skip it.

Their Seattle sourdough is pretty good. It was a nice rectangular loaf that's nice and sour! The French sourdough is less sour and a lot softer. Both loaves were reasonably priced which made me happy. Customer service was alright and it took a while for someone to get to the window to take my order. I'd like to go back for different bread and try some of their baked goods.

Came by to grab a couple of pastries before walking around Pike Place Market on a Sunday morning and tried the almond bear claw and the sugar palmier cookie. The almond bear claw was super yummy, with a nice almond paste filling and reminded me of a good almond croissant except in danish form. Loved that they can heat it up so it tastes more fresh. The sugar palmier cookie was good as well with a nice crunch! I had hoped to try one of their savory filled croissants but they were out by the time we got there around 11am so come early!

Classic Bakes for a Quick Bite! Plenty of delicious options baked fresh daily. It's to-go only, perfect for strolling through Pike Place Market or enjoying during a break while people-watching. Located just off the first right turn from the main entrance on First Avenue. Reasonably priced for the area: -Classic Palmier Cinnamon $3: A bit sweet for me, but I appreciated the flaky, buttery layers. -Raspberry Nest Coconut $4: Loved that the coconut wasn't overly sweet, but couldn't really taste any raspberry jam. A solid stop for classic baked goods made fresh. Quick service.

Was food hopping around and decided to stop by and try Three Girls Bakery bc we saw it on food network. We tried the spinach and I think feta croissant. The croissant was so warm. I took a bite and the croissant was so flaky and warm. The croissant would flake and melt in my mouth and wasn't dry. The warm spinach and feta filling was to die for. It was a good balance of cheese and spinach and the right ratio to the croissant as well. Definitely will be back to try more.

My husband and I watch a lot of videos on YouTube before visiting a city we've never been to. We saw this place on a video and wanted to try it out. We shared the "ballard" cold sandwich. The sandwich was good, but the rosemary garlic bread was delicious. We sat at the bar, and it was fun watching the servers make the sandwiches right in front of us.

    Pain au chocolat with almond

Sadly they served me a day old pastry here. The pain au chocolat was chewy and cool from being refrigerated overnight. Very little chocolat in the pain au chocolat. Skip here and find another place for pastry.

We stop here in our way to a cruise and the bread caught my eye because I'm a baker and I wanted to try something different. The place didn't disappoint. It was nice clean . We received the bread through the window, the girls were very nice and her service was A+ . We tasted the sourdough bread. It was pretty good a little bit different from mine, but the store has a lot of other different things to try on so I will recommend this 100%

Their window displays with shelves of diverse pastries and breads is a glorious sight among the many wonders in Pike Place. I ordered the honey walnut rugelach and a chocolate croissant. Both had flaky, buttery layers, but that croissant was something seriously special. It was loaded with quality chocolate. I would love to visit again and try more things!

They have multiple vegan options, all marked, which is fabulous! Their bread is very good too. Would definitely come back! Server was efficient and didn't handle my bread with their hands and also washed their hands after taking a cash payment before I checked out. This is a pick up window only so nowhere to sit and very busy/loud as it's part of the sanitary market but it's easy to see what they have and what they've run out of. Sandwich window is in the back.

Famous bakery located in Pike Place Market, and a must visit if you like women owned businesses. It actually has an interesting history about it. Three Girls was the first licensed woman owned business in Seattle. Also it's the oldest continuously operating business in the market. You can get classic baked goods and pastries. Basically a lot of family owned businesses are in the market including this bakery. It was opened in 1912. This was owned by women at a time it was hard for women to be business owners. Over the years it has changed in ownership, but still has had the same classic baked goods. The Levy family has owned it since 1979, and has served favorites including their famous meatloaf sandwich. A few vegan options to get. It's about $4 to get a palmier. These come in a few flavors including cinnamon and sugar. Classic bakery with lots of favorites along with a few newer items. It's located along Pike Place. There's baked goods like loaves, as well as pastries like cookies, some of which are okay for vegans.

They have a switchback line in the street across from the restaurant as they don't want you blocking the sidewalks. Smart move. We really wanted to eat here, so on Sunday we arrived at around 8 am and there wasn't a line. We had the best breakfast. I ordered the egg, hash browns, and cheese. It was warm, soft, and filling. I also got the apple blossom which was really good. I loved the fresh fruit in my pastry. For dessert I got the chocolate hazelnut one. I was so full that I haven't finished it yet. I highly recommend you come here. Bring your patience. Also buy more than you think you will eat as it will be so good and you won't want to stand in line again. Hubby ordered the monthly special (a Bacon Cheeseburger) and had some ordering regrets after trying mine. Fortunately, he also got the Potato & Cheese, which he really liked. So, what went well, and what has plenty of room for improvement? SERVICE - 5/5 The staff was super friendly and just really cool! I especially appreciated that he grabbed the pain au chocolat from the back at my request. I did not want mine touching the almond croissants displayed so closely together. I wanted a pain au chocolat, not an almond pain au chocolat. Sorry! AMBIANCE - 4/5 A very busy bakery/café located at Pike Place Market, near Starbucks. I liked the wall décor and the overall cozy vibe. Finding an empty seat may be a challenge? KOUIGN-AMANN/PAIN AU CHOCOLAT/MERINGUE - 2/5 Kouign-amann - 0/5 It pained me to give a kouign-amann such a low score, especially because it is my all-time favorite pastry. But this one was so subpar that I could not even finish it. It was, frankly, a complete waste of butter, flour, sugar and labor. I once lodged a complaint with a GM and Director of F&B at a certain Ritz-Carlton because their kouign-amanns were so bad that I asked them to stop whoever was making them. Since then, there has been a huge improvement, and that is what genuine feedback should accomplish. Pastry integrity is of utmost importance, and pastry crime is hardly forgivable. Pain au Chocolat - 2/5 Doughy and deeply disappointing. I simply cannot reconcile this with the fact that Le Panier has supposedly been a beloved fixture of Seattle's food scene since 1983. MERINGUE -- 5/5 Can anyone possibly mess up a meringue?? It is extremely disappointing to visit what is supposed to be a legendary, quintessential French bakery in Seattle, only to find that the two pastries I was most looking forward to, the kouign-amann and pain au chocolat, were both such letdowns. A café/bakery cannot survive on service and ambiance alone. The pastries have to deliver too. Time to rehone the baking skills, Le Panier.

We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Overall I would definitely go back for the hojicha but if you're not into that there's definitely solid options for other flavors.

Their patisserie is stronger than the pastries IMO and while I wouldn't wait in a crazy line, it's still lovely neighborhood spot and perhaps the pastries are a better texture earlier in the day. Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
