    Tried Pufftown Bakehouse recently, and it did disappoint. The crossiant wasn't flaky, felt a bit off and the spinach cheese filling was so less. I've had a lot of crossiants and this definitely wasn't my fav and neither was it up to the mark for me! Definitely not going back.

    My friends and I did a croissant tasting party and sampled a huge variety from different bakeries. I picked up the spread from Pufftown since they offer a large variety, including a mix of classics, savory, and dessert flavors. Overall, I was pretty unimpressed--especially for the price point. - The Classics: The plain, chocolate, and ham and cheese were technically fine and well-made, but the flavor or texture didn't stand out compared to other places. - Speciality Options: Pufftown gets creative, but most of it didn't land for me. Flavors like the Chicken Miso, Mushroom Miso, Tamale, and Dark Chocolate Pomegranate ranged from unappetizing to oozing with cream which was really unbalanced. The Pistachio Tree Cone tasted better that might be because all the cream fell to the bottom so the top bites were more balanced. - Tarty Options: I liked the Apple Crumble and the Strawberry Cream (a plain croissant filled with cream and fresh berries) a bit more than the rest. I think that's mostly because the tartness helped cut through the sweetness, but even then, they weren't must-haves for me. Trying the different croissant variations was a fun experiment. If I ended up back here, I'd probably just stick to the classics and play it safe, but I wouldn't go out of my way for them.

    My rating of this place definitely have lowered after my recent trip. But I'm keeping it at 4 for now just because I think it's just personal preferences. I came here during my trip to Seattle and was just going to look to see what they have. And of course my eyes was hungry so I decided to get the apple crumble croissant and the miso chicken croissant. I was sticker shock when I saw my total. It was a whopping $23 for those two pastries! I never paid more than $10 for a pastry so it was definitely a surprise. Both pastries was good though. The apple crumble has this cream on top that was very addicting and there's apple chunks in the croissant. The miso chicken was hearty and you can easily have it as a meal replacement. But $23 dollars good??? I don't think so. The people here are super friendly and nice though. And it's a small place like many other business in Pikes. I definitely won't bw venturing back here anytime soon and even when I do, definitely will be looking at the price before buying

    I was pleasantly surprised by their butter croissant - great texture and layers! We also got some seasonal croissants like the tomato croissant, strawberry cream croissant, peach croissant, and carbonara croissant. I wasn't a huge fan of their sweets, but I did enjoy the carbonara croissant - very unique flavor and twist on the classic ham & cheese. Service was great and friendly. I just wished it would stay open longer - I rarely go to Pike Place in the early morning.

    I'd give Pufftown Bakehouse 10 stars if I could, 5 for the pastries, and 5 for the service. My friend and I stopped by this stall in the morning while wandering Pike Place, and thankfully there was no line. I love the cute sign with their fall croissant offerings! We arrived around 10, just as their focaccia became available. We ordered the pom chocolate croissant, miso chicken croissant, and pumpkin focaccia. Service was very friendly and quick, but where they really went the extra mile was when when we, in our excitement, left as they were heating up our miso chicken croissant. Upon realizing and racing back to Pufftown 30 minutes later, they not only remembered us, they had kept our pastry warm for us! They handled it amazingly, kudos to them! The pastries are absolutely incredible, and I love that their menu is seasonal. The pumpkin focaccia was THICC, there was really good rise in the dough and it showed through how fluffy and chewy the bread was. We had seen cream cheese swirls on top but realized that the swirls were actually pumped into the bread. The cream cheese was sweet and paired perfectly with the slightly savory bread. I actually could not stop eating it. The Pom chocolate croissant may have been the best chocolate croissant I have ever had. The filling was plentiful and the chocolate was rich, pairing perfectly with the slightly tart, floral tang of the pomegranate sauce. The croissant itself was light and not too greasy either. We saved the miso chicken pastry for the following day, and it stayed fresh, buttery, and flaky after being reheated in the air fryer. The chicken was plentiful, tender, and well-flavored. It was almost like a very elevated croissant pinwheel with chicken filling. I am so happy I saw Pufftown on IG, and want to try more items as their menu changes!!

    This place is known specifically for their croissant pastries and they only make croissants, so you would know that they do them well. I went here on a Thursday morning just before 9am and there was still all the options available. There was no line and so I was not pressured to rush my decisions in choosing what I want. I ended up getting the turkey swiss & spinach ($8) and the French flan ($9). The croissants are indeed super buttery, flaky, and crispy, so they definitely do them well here. However, the croissants are fairly small for the price tag, so it gets really steep if you want multiple. Just 2 for a decent breakfast set me back almost $20 after tax. I liked the turkey swiss & spinach more since I prefer savory and there is a nice warm egg inside. The French flan was a fan favorite but the way they make the crust makes it more tough than crispy, though it is necessary to make it not soggy from the flan. I wasn't much a fan of this since the buttery and flaky croissant texture wasn't present in the French flan.

    They just opened six months ago as their own brick and mortar but used to prepare the croissants for The Four Seasons, etc. They have different flavors each day but we got a chance to try the spicy goat cheese with asparagus croissant as well as the apricot cardamom, and the almondine. My friend who ate the almondine said it was the best she had had yet. She loved the center layer. My son who had the apricot cardamom loved the size and texture of the apricot and said he wouldn't have mind it a little more cardamom. The spicy goat cheese and asparagus was extremely good and satisfying especially how tender the asparagus was. As someone who prefers savory over sweet this was so satisfying. The customer service was warm and welcoming, answering questions for customers who were new. They run out pretty quickly, so come early. It's worth the line. Flaky, buttery, delicious. Around four dollars for the plain butter croissant, and nine dollars for the specialty croissants and tarts.

    If you don't love flaky, buttery croissants then DON'T come to Pufftown Bakeshop located at the North end of Pike Place Market, next to Kitchen & Market. But if you do, then this small but delicious bakeshop is dishing out some fantastic sweet and savory croissants/pastries and focaccias! We ordered: Pain au Chocolat $4 Plain Butter Croissant $3.50 Potato Gratin $7 The layers and the crisp, flakiness of the croissant dough was fantastic! Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. And I'm a huge sucker for a good croissant! The owners are super friendly and fast. And the croissants that we ordered like the Potato Gratin and the Pain au Chocolat came out warm! Fantastic for a chilly Seattle day! 10/10 would go again and order their other seasonal offerings as well as another Pain au Chocolat! Keep updated via their socials!

    Back to Seattle for the weekend so I decided to check out this bakery for breakfast items. It is located in the Pike Market. Nice walk. It is a small store front. Not sitting area so just to-go order. They offer selective options so I believe the options may vary depending on what day you visit. I bought a chocolate croissant and a turkey spinach sandwich pastry. Very tasty. They don't open every day so do check their schedule before you go and play ahead.

    Various things aligned with my first visit to Pufftown Bakehouse (1/23/25): traffic, street parking, site location, and product availability. The Pufftown Bakehouse owners, Serena and Daniel, had been successful with their wholesale accounts that they decided to open a walk-up location at Pike Place Market. They are located between Turkish Delight and Kitchen & Market. Very welcoming and personable owners. Love the pastry case and well appointed production area that can be viewed while at the walk up counter. I admire laminated baked goods. The foundation ones here are technically sound, beautiful layers, airy honeycomb interior, and buttery flavor with minimal shattered shards. A lot of attention to detail and freshness are immediately evident. My selections were still warm when purchased. They were decent also when eaten a day later. *Butter Croissant ($3.50) was purchased for The Homie. However, I did slice it to observe the amazing interior. *Pain au Chocolat ($4), also known as chocolate croissant, chocolate cornetto, or chocolatine is my usual go to. I enjoyed it with the two batons baked within. *Bacon, Egg, Cheddar Croissant ($7) was a tasty savory choice. I prefer the versions from Breadfarm in Edison and Saboteur Bakery in Bremerton though. Baked goods menu is seasonal. The Winter menu runs until March. The basics are spot on and enjoy seeing some innovative ones too. The Spiced Hot Cocoa croissant was already sold out during my visit. Lovely couple at the helm. Gave me reminiscent vibes from two OG shuttered faves, Cafe Besalu and Celine Patisserie. Items were nicely packaged. Enjoyed the whimsical design. Merch can also be purchased with the similar logo. I was fortunate to visit on a weekday late morning. No crazy crowds at Pike Place Market. I can only imagine how it'll be in the forthcoming months. For their product quality, I am amazed at their low prices, especially with the increased cost of ingredients like eggs, butter, and chocolate. Other places easily charge $5 to $7 for a butter croissant or pain au chocolat. I appreciate the ability to have such indulgent treats. Pufftown Bakehouse is a recommended stop while eating your way through the Pike Place Market! **Note their business hours: Open 0630-12noon Tuesdays through Saturdays, closed Sundays & Mondays.**

    Have been following Serena and Daniel's journey for the past few years was glad when I heard they opened up a spot in Pike Place Market just down from Hellenika. Now I can buy their delicious pastries directly from them!! Their laminated bakes are some of the best in town. The week I went there was a Potato Gratin special. I picked up some treats to share with friends. Two of the potato, bacon egg & cheese, Pistachio Winter tree and lemon meringue cruffin. My only regret is I didn't get to try the Lemon and Pistachio. I gave those to a friend and we didn't have knife to share. I throughly enjoyed the savories though. Beautifully balanced. Loved seeing regulars and new customers visit while I was there. Serena and Daniel are so friendly and take great pride in what they create. Welcoming space for grab and go creative pastries and drip coffee.

    Came in around 9:40 and most items were gone so rec coming in earlier than that if you wanted some more options. The people were friendly and the croissant was actually phenomenal. I love a classic butter croissant and they really nailed it. The potato gratin also had a good texture and base. I wasn't a fan of the big potato tower. I think I'd prefer if it was more spread out, but that's a personal preference. The butter croissant after tax was 3.86 and the potato 7.72. I would for sure come back regularly for that butter croissant, but didn't feel like the potato gratin was worth the price. Overall would recommend checking out! Friendly people making great croissants, just come earlier to have your pick. I'm for sure going to stop by again to try their other items!

Like everything else, this was incredibly overpriced. Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. The kitchen is open, so you can watch as all of the scrumptious pastries are made. I liked the vibe here a lot. The space is shared with a bagel shop, but there is plenty of room for everyone. Service was fine. The line moved fast, and the prices were reasonable, comparable to other bakeries in Seattle. While I enjoyed the vibe at Sea Wolf Bakers a lot, I didn't think their pastries and coffee were nearly as good as some others I tried in Seattle. The espresso shot I tried was extremely bitter and just not as smooth as it should have been. The savory croissant was ok, but it lacked any big flavors, and the texture wasn't really croissant-like. The hit cross bun was just unimpressive and not very good at all. Overall, I would probably skip Sea Wolf Bakers next time. It's ok, but there are so many other amazing bakeries too. Maybe I tried the wrong stuff?

Inside, there is a decent amount of seating upstairs and downstairs (though only one bathroom), but this seems like it would be a great spot to meet with a friend or coworker or try to get some work done. I'm a big fan of the horchata brioche donut, so that's what I recommend you try. The pastries are reasonably priced and freshly made, and if you don't like things that are too sweet they will be perfect for you. I think the only complaint I've had is the drinks the barista has made can be very hit or miss, especially once with Chai I had. The barista was nice enough to remake the drink, but that's probably one area of improvement. Overall, this is a great little spot and I look forward to coming back again.

I love that they had different options of fruit to pick from and I chose blueberry! The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how fresh the blueberry tasted. My boyfriend ordered the chocolate croissant because he was excited at the idea of the chocolate being piped through the croissant and also drizzled over the top, but it turns out the dark brown parts on top are just design and not more chocolate. Still, he was pleased with the amount of chocolate in the croissant and the bite I had was heavenly. The champagne cake caught my eye as I was ordering and I just had to try a bite, it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved how light the cake was and the layers of flavour through the whole dessert! I love how bright and airy the cafe is! My boyfriend and I were easily able to find seating by the windows and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the space needle and people watching as we shared breakfast. The staff here was also patient and welcoming. We'll definitely have to come back and try more of their pastries!!

All the pastries except for the regular butter croissant were available, and we were able to place an order for the kimchi focaccia and sakura swiss roll, which were slated to come out around 10am. Service was super friendly! I got the hojicha latte, the okonomiyaki frittata, black sesame cookie, kimchi focaccia, and sakura swiss roll. The hojicha latte was rich and earthy in the best way, and it went really well with the black sesame cookie, which had a great strong sesame flavor, and the texture was perfectly chewy! The focaccia was pillowy and chewy at the same - I could've eaten five of these on their own. The frittata was my least favorite item, but by no means am I saying that it's bad! I thought the sauces overpowered it a bit, and the frittata itself was a bit bland - I couldn't even tell it had sweet potato in it, but it was cooked really well. There was ample seating in the heated patio, but parking was a little confusing, though we got lucky with the small lot right next to the store. There were a lot of signs that said no parking along the street in front, but it seemed like a lot of cars were parked there?

I don't know if they rotate their pastries or if they just sold out of everything but only items on display case were the chocolate cookie, sesame cookie, the sakura chiffon roll, savory focaccia, apple cake and maybe one other item. I really was looking forward to trying a cardamom croissant or bun but they didn't have either available. My iced latte was alright. Nothing to go crazy over. The cherry foam for an additional $2.00 was very pretty but that's where it stopped at. Absolutely no cherry or sakura flavor. Disappointed. The sesame cookie had a great smell to it. The aroma of sesame was strong. The cookie had a nice crisp to the edge and a chewy center. The sesame taste wasn't as strong as the smell. The spicy chicken sandwich on special was not spicy at all. It was overwhelmingly sweet from the orange glaze/sauce on the kitchen. It was a decent sandwich and I definitely finished it. Just not something I would gravitate back to. I understand the reviews about how this place doesn't live up to some extra hype. It's decent, solid and a great option for the area but to go out of your way for and wait thirty minutes in line? Not really.
