    Strong opinion incoming. Dare I say, Mirabelle makes the best kouign-amann and pain au chocolat I've had in Seattle. The texture, lamination, butter quality, saltiness, and sweetness were all perfect to me. High marks! Cute shop too, was not busy near closing when I visited. They have inside tables and outside tables. A bit warm inside the shop on a hot day btw, so prepare for this if you'll eat there and you can always take your pastries to go and enjoy them near the water views. This location is pretty close to the water taxi and ferry terminals, so this may turn into my quick snack pick-up before heading on the ferry! Highly recommend and can't wait to try some of their other items!

    Ooo if you want French cuisine, this is IT. Best pastries I've had outside of Europe and maybe even better. Staff are actually French and so nice. It's a small little cafe, but incredible food and coffee. The beignet and hazelnut croissant were divine.

    Located just a 5 minute walk away from the Pioneer Square light rail station, this small French cafe serves some seriously good pastries. They use high quality ingredients (Isigny Ste Mere butter, Valrhona chocolate, etc). It's something that really comes through in the final product. Cinnamon Cruffin ($6.50) - I'm not sure I would call this a cruffin since there's not really any laminated layers on the interior. It's more like monkey bread, with a richer brioche interior interspersed with ribbons of cinnamon, then dusted with cinnamon sugar on the outside. There are some crispy caramelized sugar bits on top which I found to be fun to bite into. (4/5) Casse-Noisette ($6.50) - The lamination on this croissant looks quite nice, but the interior isn't particularly buttery and the layers are quite delicate. It's filled with a hazelnut-dark chocolate spread which is sticky, messy and rich. I believe it's a homemade spread rather than nutella due to the richer taste and darker color. The exterior of the croissant is soft instead of crusty and shattering, probably since we didn't eat this until the end of the day. They sprinkle crunchy pearl sugar and crushed hazelnut on top, adding some additional pleasing texture. (5/5) Savory Tartelette ($6.50) - This tart is filled with tangy and funky goat cheese, sweet and soft caramelized onion, a drizzle of honey, and a small zing of rosemary, on a super buttery and crisp base. The croissant base tastes by far the most buttery as compared to both the Almond and Hazelnut croissants. (5/5) Almond Croissant ($6.50) - I believe this is a double baked croissant given the dark brown bake. As with the casse-noisette, this croissant has been softened by the Seattle spring humidity and unfortunately no longer remains particularly crisp. The croissant is cut in half and filled with a sweet almond frangipane. I believe it's made in house - it's more sugary than almond, and the texture is quite a bit less viscous than most almond croissants. The frangipane compresses the croissant layers into thicker slabs, and this creates a chewy texture that almost reminds me of egg in texture. (4/5) Kouign-Amann ($6.50) - Finally another proper Kouign-Amann! This one has enriched more brioche-like laminated dough rather than plain croissant dough like a lot of other bakeries use. This makes the pastry so much richer and decadent. The interior here has a certain flavor that's totally different from the dough in the casse-noisette and in the tart. I feel like there's a unique funk that might be from cultured butter. The pastry is still quite flaky, with layers that easily come apart, and there's still a bit of a crunch from the sugar glazed over the surface. I especially love the center, where towards in the interior, there's an almost sweet custard-like center, and the center top, where there's a sand-like mound of almost-melted sugar. (5/5) Marbre ZigZag ($5.99) - Really moist and dense marble cake, deceptively heavy for the size. There's a thick layer of dark chocolate ganache covering the cake layer, making the slice exceptionally rich. (5/5) La Baguette MBO ($3.95) - This is an oddly shaped baguette, curved instead of flat, and very uneven in width. The shape was strange enough I thought the baguette would not be good. Cutting it open with a bread knife, the interior crumb seems a little tight, missing some of the more open holes of a well risen baguette. The taste and crustiness, however, are excellent. The flavor is very well developed and there's a hard baked crust that gives a fantastic baguette crisp. It's not perfect, but for $4, which is less than baguettes cost at most places in Seattle, this is a great deal. (5/5) Mirabelle by Orphée is another excellent Seattle bakery!     Super buttery croissant!! It's everything you want: crispy and chewy with distinct, beautiful layers! They have lots of other delicious pastries and a good amount of seats to have some sit down French style brunch items. Highly recommend getting here early as it gets quite busy.

    Honestly I haven't had a baguette sandwich this good since I was in Paris last! I'm so obsessed with how fresh and flavourful the authentic dishes are here. I ordered The Parisien "Cochon" which was absolutely delicious! I just wish the bread wasn't so hard, I needed to take several breaks to rest my jaw. My sister loved her latte. She adored the flavour of the sweet vanilla and that the oat milk had a high quality taste with a creamy texture. I agree that the drinks are perfect, my medium oat milk mocha was perfect with a delectably rich profile. My only qualm is the cleanliness! There aren't very many tables that seat more than two, so my mom, sister, and I had to push together two tables that were absolutely filthy. One was covered in croissant flakes and the table was covered in crumbs and the floor was dirty. Overall it just ruined the entire aesthetic and atmosphere that the place wasn't clean at all. The food is totally worth overlooking the mess and my sister and I will definitely be back the next time we're craving a taste of Paris!!

    I am so glad I came here for breakfast on my solo trip to Seattle this past weekend. Though it was a Saturday morning (10am), the line was surprisingly short with only 2 parties ahead of me. You enter the café and order first, so make sure you browse through the menus they have on the right counter to get a better idea of what you'd like. As I was waiting in line, I saw them restocking their baguettes and it took everything within me to not buy one just to try! All the pastries by the front look amazing, but knowing I had the underground tour (which is RIGHT next door) after breakfast, I couldn't necessarily order with just my eyes. I eventually opted with their seasonal mademoiselle yuzu sweet treat and Mr. Breakfast 2.0. I added avocado with the house-made brioche bun and the size was so petite yet perfect for 1 serving! The yuzu treat was FANTASTIC and has this citrusy cream and meringue that's to die for. To get a caffeine fix, I ordered a regular latte with oatmilk--not sweet at all but did the job to get something warm in me on a chilly day! There are about 10 small tables you can dine inside for, but it's a bit difficult to snag one since they fill up quick! There's a lot more seating outside if you don't mind, which I did anyway especially with the great weather that day.

    We have eaten our fair share of croissants and French food around the world, but we didn't expect Seattle to have such a fantastic addition that makes us trek across the bridge every Saturday. Fantastic mom and son team, hard working, personable people, and there is simply no miss across what they offer: delicious no-frill classic French food with perfect execution. Our fav is the goat cheese quiche and canele, but everything else is simply perfect. You deserve all the recognition from your hardwork

    Love love this place!!! the most beautiful serving dishes, delicious food. Just love it. One thing I wish that would change, is that in Madame Yuzu they are using a new jam which is now brown and liquidy like molasses adding a slightly bit bitter flavor to my favorite tart. I wish they would go back to using the one they used originally. We try to come here every few weeks.

    TLDR: The best, most flaky pastries made with top-tier ingredients and care. If you're in the area and they're open, go inside! A full recap of my experience: The food, the ambiance, and the service are all in a league of their own. I had the pleasure of joining a croissant making class with the talented team at Mirabelle and was blown away by the attention to detail, from the fresh ingredients to the prep and baking process. The croissants are 10/10 and I can't wait to come back and try more menu items!

    Everything was marvelous here! The outside patio is dog friendly which was awesome in winter. The service is lovely and friendly. The food came out really fast too actually. It's a fantastic, authentically Parisian cafe in almost every way. I would 100% recommend and go back, especially with my pup this summer.

    All I can say is wow. This is a must try place in Seattle. I heard a lot about this place via Instagram so decided to give it a try. I went here twice before able to give a fair rating. This is a small shop in pioneer square. They have a few seatings but it's also small so not good for big groups. Parking is street if you can find them. The owner of the shop is the person taking your order and he very nice and has a strong French accent :) Food wise: Croque monsieur 5/5 it doesn't feel heavy and feels clean and healthy. Love the flavor on this and the texture is amazing. Get it with egg! Terrine 4/5 -- this is for the adventurous eater. This is similar to the vietnamese pate but the flavor is a lot stronger. It comes with a side of butter and some bread. I didn't care for the bread as much. The combo of butter and pate was delicious. I actually spread it on the croissant that I had and wow, soooo good. Hot chocolate 3/5 -- pretty standard Regular croissant 4.5/5 -- feels soft but actually flaky, needs a little more butter flavor though. Kouig aman 4.5/5 -- love the layers, needs a little more sugar. Texture was perfect Cinnamon cruffin 4.5/5 -- almost like a pull apart bread but still have layers, flavor was good. Hazelnut croissant / apple turnover (oui oui) / beignet 4/5 --- really good flavor, soft and light. Carre verdome 10/5 --- one of the best cakes I had in a really long time. I love the crunch, the soft silky texture and rich chocolate flavor. Price was also very reasonable which kind of surprise me given how everything is inflated these days. Overall, this should be on your list to go if you're heading down to Seattle

    This place is super cute! Definitely reminds me of the cafes in France. I finally got the chance to try it after hearing about it for a while, and came on a slightly rainy weekend. The staff were all super sweet and friendly, and they have a great selection of baked goods and other items as well. I ended up getting a classic croissant, since that's what I tend to always get when trying a new spot. Theirs was gigantic and was so reasonably priced - you won't really find this elsewhere in Seattle! I do wish they warmed it up for you, but nonetheless it was still pretty good. I will say for the texture, this croissant won't blow you away as it leans on the softer side overall (rather than the crispy flaky layers). However, for flavor this one is absolutely delicious - the buttery-ness of this one is outstanding, and the flavor is so so good. My friend also got the canele which I took a bite out of, and it was fantastic. I've never had a canele before but this one definitely stood out - it was the perfect crispy exterior with a soft and chewy and flavorful middle. Highly recommend getting that! Overall, a very cute spot with good vibes friendly service and yummy pastries. Highly recommend!

Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. Butter Croissant (3.75/5): I'll admit I'm insanely picky with my croissants and I think Sea Wolf's is just okay. I want a stronger crisp on the outside, something that almost shatters and makes a mess when you bite in, but the inside has a nice chew. Kouign Amann (3.75/5): I had a really fantastic time with this my first time picking it up, they have almost a crunchy sugar caramel crust on the outside with super buttery pastry inside. Unfortunately, my second time picking this up ended up being a miss, just stale and much to dry. Cinnamon Roll (1/5): The raisins are a nice touch, but this was awfully dry. Even the caramelized crus on the outside couldn't save this and charging extra for cream cheese frosting on top of a dry dough is criminal.

All around, we enjoyed our visit and would for sure come back to try their baked goods.
