I purchased a used car from this dealership. They lied to me about the remaining factory warranty on the car. They told me the car has one month of factory warranty left on it, but when i took the car to the original dealer for service, they told me the warranty has expired. I contacted the dealership but they refused to do anything about it and just said that they went based on car fax report. Very unprofessional and unresponsive. Stay away. read more

Purchased 21 GMC Yukon AT4 few weeks back loaded with all the bells and whistles. Very happy with the experience no high pressure or switch and bait tactics here unlike other dealers I know about in the Inland Empire. I have purchased 2 trucks and leased 1 SUV over the past few years. Daniel is my sales guy and I take all my business to him. The service department is incredibly slow, and does not communicate well. The first time I brought in my Truck (purchased at Thorsons) I waited 8 hours for them to complete the work. Just a bad day I thought. The second time I brought it in I waited 8 hours and they hadn't finished the work at the end of the day, and never told me, so I drove home after a completely wasted day. Must be a coincidence I thought. So today I brought it back to get the work done and here I am 7 hours later still waiting. Terrible terrible way to treat a customer. My advice is to go elsewhere. Thorson had my car for 3 WEEKS. While I was patient because I knew it was a big job, communication was lacking. I had to keep calling to get updates. When I was finally told it was ready, I came to pay my bill but was kept waiting for 15 minutes in the heat. When the porter brought my car, he told me it was dead and that he had to jump it. A lot of time passed, between that and when service manager Rudy came and took the car. And then more waiting while the tech diagnosed the dead battery. Instead of taking responsibility for the dead battery and talking to me directly as a good manager should, he sent service advisor Luna to tell me they would have to charge me another $200 for a new battery. When I asked to speak to the service manager, he took even more time to avoid me. While I understand my battery was not the factory original, I also know that the techs at Thorson had my car for 3 weeks. They undoubtedly killed my battery during repairs (which is common). The fact the the service manager kept denying and would not put in a simple battery tells me the integrity of this organization and how they feel about their clientele. There is no service retention or customer service at Thorson. I arrived at thorson at 2:30. I did not leave until 5:00pm. Did I mention we bought the car from Thorson in 2016 and have always had it serviced there for the entire time we had the car? We will never buy another GMC. And if lightening strikes us and we do, it would not be because we wanted to and we most certainly will not be taking it to thorson for service read more

Avoid the service department! Held on to my vehicle for almost a week before even looking at it. During that time, the front-end mechanic called in sick, the service rep Timothy West called in sick, and the service manager Don Schwartz thought it better to go home early rather than call me with an update as he promised. Don Schwartz also went home early on the day I picked up my vehicle, does anyone else see a pattern here. Went to speak with Tom George, President of Thorson Buick GMC, but he was on vacation. I was assured by the sales manager that Mr George would contact me as soon as he returned - by now you can guess what didn't happen. I will not go to this dealership anymore poor service, rude and disrespectful to me as a customer. I bought my car brand new from this dealership and always have my car serviced through them every time but turned out bad, didn't pay attention to what I am talking, explaining to them. They did not do any service to my car while I was waiting inside the waiting room for 5 hours til I got up and talk to them why my car is not ready after 5 hours ? The answer from service advisor that my car is still sitting there. I was so disappointed I talked to the service manager and he told me nothing he can do about it . Tale of Two Buick Dealerships. Was the worst of Custmer Service: Thorson's Pasadena and the Best in Customer Service: Reynold's Buick, West Covina. My 2007 Pontiac was part of airbag recall. I called Thorson's this morning at 07:15. Spoke to Parts Dept. Person answering phone said he'd transfer me to Service Dept. He came back on line and said I'd have to call back in 15 minutes when Service opened. I said wait you're Parts can you tell me if you have Part for Recalled airbag in stock? He replied "No you have to ask Service Dept." I called back as requested. Spent 10 minutes on hold. Then woman answered and when I told her what I needed she said she was with a customer and would call me back as soon as she finished. I got tried of waiting and went to Desktop and found out Reynold's Buick was 15 miles away and called. Jim in Service answered phone. Told me he checked had part and told me to bring in my car. 30 minutes later, 1 hour after hanging up with me, woman called back. Said she was sorry, holiday, they were very busy. They "probably" had the part what day did I want to come in? Told her already had my answer. I needed to get it done today. She offered tomorrow - still hadn't checked if had part. Told her that was ok. Hung up. What a great experience I had at Reynold's. They even gave me a ride home. Washed my car before giving it back. Difference in Customer Service is all I need to know about which Dealership to go to! read more

Yes, all the other reviews here, with 2 stars or less, has it right. Went there to attempt to buy a car from them but things turned south really fast. This dealership is NOT a meet your needs! It's a meet their needs or they will tell you, I quote, "Bye, Bye" and walk off to go talk to another staff member, leaving you sitting there. Seriously, my wife at one point asked me if they knew I was still sitting there. Also, has time changed where test driving vehicles is less then a mile. I think some Roller coaster rides are farther, longer, and faster. How am I supposed to test drive a vehicle in approximately 6 blocks worth of road and going at a speed limit of 45mph? I mean, I guess I tested that the signals worked, wipers worked, gas pedal worked, and brakes worked. Great! Now I'll fork up thousands of dollars..... I also read a lot of reviews and responses from Ted Barnes and from Merlin F. about dedicating to providing each and every customer with a comfortable and professional service experience. They even mentioning about reaching out to them directly to discuss your experience... BUT even that is a lie. Why, because I was there and I even heard my sales person, talking to Ted, but Ted never made no attempt to come and greet me or discussed with me about the car I wanted to buy. Every word, conversation, sound, was communicated back and fourth with the messenger, sales person. Never saw Ted, never spoke to Ted, only heard him mumbling with the sales person from the back office. So much for the direct discussion they try to incorporate/respond with. Seriously, it doesn't get any better then person to person but that opportunity is out of the window now because I'm not going back there. At the end of the day, you'll feel better you didn't do business with Thorson Motors. It's like waking up in the morning one day and telling yourself, whew I'm glad I didn't marry that person.... I have brought my truck into this service department twice. Both times by appt. The most recent was this past Thursday in the morning. I explained the issue and the service advisor said they would look at it. I did not hear anything until Friday until I called to get a status update on my truck. I was told that my truck was not a priority and they have not been able to get to it. They then told me they "might" be able to get to it on Monday. As I said before, I brought my truck in last year for an issue. Again, my truck sat in the service department for two days and they did not have the courtesy to look at it. Why allow appointments and never look at a vehicle. This place has absolutely poor service. They seem to prioritize whoever they are going to make money from even those with appointment. Prepare to have your vehicle in the shop for days without them looking at it. Whatever you do don't bring your vehicle here for service. read more

1/4 star ! Limited on review length so will add another . Dear Troy at GM, Thank you for reaching regarding my traumatic experience at Thorson GMC/Buick in Pasadena, CA. ( GM said no) As a long time GM customer, (I loved my 1984 Fiero in 1985), GMC Jimmy, Camaro, Sunbird and so many others. I have been on the search for a few years to make some new memories by purchasing a Fiero again. I located what I believed was the right one. Original owner (I have the window sticker), 61,000 miles, automatic and no accidents. After many questions to the seller, I decided to purchase and have the car shipped to me in Temple City, CA. from Ohio. The car arrived right after Labor Day 2022. Sadly, the running condition of the car was not as described by the seller. I immediately called Sierra Chevrolet in Monrovia, CA. to ask if they have a mechanic that works on Pontiac Fiero. The person on the other line replied " What's that?" I replied "never mind and hung up". Having dealt with Thorson Motors for my 2000 GMC Jimmy I contacted them. When Casey answered the phone I asked " Do you have an expert mechanic who works on Fieros?" Casey replied "Yes we work on Fiero's" I replied " FANTASTIC".. I made arrangements to have the car towed to Thorson the next day. They notified me I could tow it but they could not look at it until the next week. I replied " That's fine as I need to get it fixed so I can drive it, register it and enjoy it". When I arrived to fill out the paperwork, I instructed then to check out the entire car and let me know what it needed. Casey notified me that there was no charge or the 24 point inspection and anything else he would let me know. I was notified that it required a new fuel pump. I was not given a quote for the cost but agreed to it as they said that's what it needed to make it run. All I wanted for great work to make it work. Once the gas tank was removed I was told the gas tank had corrosion and needed to be replaced. They checked a few places with no luck. I informed then I could find a new one at a supplier. Casey stated" Buy it and bring it in and we will put it in" I ordered it and had my worker drive it to the dealer as I was out of town. Casey and the technician, Gabriel (who is no longer at the dealer) were excited and shocked it was there. It took another 2 weeks to install the tank. I have all the text messages between Casey and I that say "We need more time to work on it" when in reality when I finally said enough is enough and on October 11th I am picking up the car this is when it went downhill. I supplied the gas tank. There was a tune up, told it needed a new battery and a head light relay to make the right headlight pop up. Frustrated! I was getting the car. After 5 weeks of being there I picked up the car, drove it to the local gas station, fill the tank and when reentered the car the fuel gauge showed ¼ tank. I thought "they broke the gauge as it worked when the car arrived because I added gas and the gauge went to full. I drove about a mile and pulled over due to heavy smoke smell. I called and said I am bringing the car back. Turns out the E-Brake was frozen on and I was driving it with the E-Brake on. Casey called me to say they were able to release the E-brake and needed more time for the fuel gauge.. Week after week "we need more time" and the dispatcher has not assigned your car to a tech". This went on for WEEKS. I asked "while you have it can smog it?" Casey replied "yes we can do that"... Weeks later when I asked "is it smog" his reply " we can't do it. Our smog is for years 2000 and above" Very Frustrated yet calm, I said "how much longer"? Casey replied "we have a new technician we hired and maybe he can do it "... I said "I am coming to pick up the car, I'm DONE!! " On ..... , a rainy day, I went to pick up the car. It took 25 minutes to get the car as the battery was dead after not moving for a month (even though it was a brand new battery). I asked Casey for the name of the "dispatcher" who has been leading him on this whole time about my car. He replied "let me go check"... He went into an office and said the head service manager would come talk to me. This is all while he is trying to get the battery to work. I tell him "Battery is new, under warranty, put a new one in as I just want to leave". I was told there are MANY tests and that would take longer than recharging it and I should wait in the waiting room. After 20 more minutes in the waiting room Casey comes to me to say "come to the office of the head service manager".. I am escorted into the office. I ask for the name of the "dispatcher".. He tells me " He is no longer with us" I replied " that's not what I asked for". He replied to me in a harsh tone "Don't blame Casey for any of this".. I replied "I NEVER blamed Casey for this !! I blame the dishonest person who is feeding information to Casey to feed to me". read more

Very dissapointed with this dealership. I was looking to purchase a new GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. They had 2 I was interested in listed on their website. After speaking with a sales person they informed me that the one I was already spoken for and the other was going to be used by the owner for about 1,000 miles. After the owner was done, I could purchase it for $5,000 over sticker. Just ridiculous. I have spent the last three days going to 7 dealers because I'm between two makes/models of SUVs (plus weighing the pros and cons of each trim of each model, etc.) - GMC and Chevy. Out of all the sales staff I have talked to, I want to give a big shout out to Marco (M&M) for being the most pleasant person we talked to in Sales out of all the dealers. No slime ball sales vibe or pitch, just honestly answering my questions, and doing it with a smile. Unfortunately Thorson didn't have exactly what I wanted when I met with Marco, so I walked away without a car but I'm monitoring the dealer website for incoming cars to put a deposit down on it if we see one we like. Anyway, I just want to say thanks to Marco. There are some real pieces of work sales people out there, and he stood out as being one of the good ones. read more

The first of many visits to Thorson Motor Center, went in for a routine check and oil change. The entire process took less than an hour. The place is clean and the staff was very nice. In the waiting room, they have donuts and a pot of coffee - both Decaf and Regular - sitting at the counter as you enter from the service bay drop-off. They also have free WiFi and a TV. They said it was ready, I showed up 30 minutes later, at first they didn't know who I was, then they couldn't find the paperwork. I took my 2019 Yukon slt in July with 3 issues. DVD player was not working, usb connections where not working right, and stabilatrak sensor. 1st visit -The suv sat there for more than 3 days with no one touching it or letting me know so I could make the choice to pick it up or continue leaving it there. I picked up my vehicle 2nd visit- was told DVD player parts was ordered and the stabilatrak sensor was fixed. Next day the stabilatrak sensor went off again. 3rd visit - took the suv back again. Stabilatrak was finally fixed. Was told DVD player was replaced. After Getting home and inserting a dvd - it was still not working. Called the dealership back spoke to agent and told them the dvd was still not working and started questioning if it was in fact replaced. 4th visit- took the suv back for DVD player was told the DVD player was replaced but then when picking up the vehicle was told it was the monitor in the back that was replaced. I never once mentioned I had any issues with a monitor screen and allllllllll times Speaking to them i mentioned the DVD player. I'm not a mechanic or an IT tech and but a DVD player and monitor are not the same thing. At this point I'm trying to troubleshoot and think of what could be the issue. The dealership said I didn't give much information so they went by what the computer picked up. I called the dealer ship again to try and schedule my last appointment and the person making the appointment gaslighted my issue and made it clear it was a problem with GMC also gave me the option to go to another dealership lol 5th visit - DVD player was finally replaced and I have a working DVD player!!!!! How frustrating to deal with a business who doesn't own their loyalty to the GMC brand. I was determined to get my dvd fixed and they where going to fix it. Criminals & thieves. They beg you to put up a good review for them. They push real hard at the beginning for that review. The customer service women at the service department sucked, very poor customer service. After going there the first time for services I never went back. Used other Buick dealers in their place. They hook you into all sorts of extras, for their leases then hide extra fees in the contract they pushed in front of us. Especially if you don't get another one of their leases cars. I'm going to complain to Buick as well. No wonder they are dying on the vine. You suck Thorson !! Use someone else. read more

Parts Dept. Wow, I just dropped 50k on a pickup and went in to buy a bed liner and/ Tonneau cover. There's like 8 parts counter employees stumbling over one another or sitting on there stools "yakity - yak " None of them even look up at me ... and I'm huge(6'+ 250lbs) I cast a mean shadow. I'm standing there and all I get is the Mad Dog sneer from like this 90 year old woman at the end stool. WTH ? She got up walked over like she was going to assist and then sat it back down to chat it up with her other old ass friend. I'm the only customer in the Dept. I'm a walk- In. We took in our 2018 Sierra HD Denali truck on 7/2/2021 to the GMC dealership/ auto repair for a transmission coolant line leak assuming that taking it to the dealership would be better than our on family mechanic. 1st because they are professionals in diesel trucks and 2nd because it was a fairly a new car and thought it still would be cover under warranty. We were informed that $180 for diagnosis would be charge, but if under warranty it would be no cost. Two days later, we received a call to inform us that the new truck was out of warranty and that the total cost was going to be $962.18. So either we were stuck paying the $180 diagnosis fee and picking up the truck to get it fixed somewhere else or pay the full amount to get it fixed at the dealership. We decided to get it fix at the dealership; which ended up staying there almost a whole week and now down almost $1000. What I want to bring up to every potential customer is to always to do your research and it's ok to take your car to your own mechanic. Don't assume because your are taking it to the dealership they will do a better job. What the dealership charged was an exaggeration as you can see in the pic attached; parts $233.27; labor $705!!! Every other person that I tell my story says to NEVER EVER take it to the dealership they will rip you off and sure enough they did. Any other fair mechanic would have charged 1/2 of what this dealership charged. read more
