called earlier today and spoke with John to explain my current lease situation. I was very clear that I was not ready to buy today and that my current lease has negative equity. John encouraged me to come in anyway. Once I arrived, his attitude completely changed. He was noticeably unenthusiastic and unwilling to help. He didn't show me any of the vehicles we discussed over the phone and made no effort to walk the lot or explain options. Instead, he simply sat me at his desk and threw out rough numbers without any real discussion or guidance. Overall, the experience felt rushed and dismissive. I had a terrible experience at Volkswagen Pasadena, and honestly, I'm still shocked at how poorly I was treated. I went in with a simple request--to help identify a noise coming from my suspension. Instead of actually trying to help, the service advisor (a skinny blonde guy--unfortunately I didn't catch his name) completely brushed me off. He immediately told me they would need to keep the car all day, then started giving me a condescending explanation about how there are "millions of components" and they'd need to do a full inspection... basically talking just to avoid helping. What really crossed the line was when he suggested I should just get rid of the car because it's "probably too old" and buy a new one. That's beyond unprofessional--it's insulting. What makes this even worse is that I'm a returning customer. Just last year, I spent $17,000 + at this same dealership to replace the engine. And this is the level of service I get? I ended up going to Volkswagen Downtown LA instead, and the difference was night and day. The service advisor immediately took a test drive with me, quickly identified the issue, and got it fixed. I ended up spending about $2,500 + (also did additional work), and I'm actually happy I did--because they treated me with respect and professionalism. Avoid Volkswagen Pasadena if you expect basic customer service. This place clearly doesn't value returning customers. read more

Walked in on a Tuesday evening around 5pm, looking to get a car for my Mom as a gift. Went through the entire showroom and outside to look at some cars on my own. No one was around to greet me or asked if I needed help. As I walked back in and took my time walking through the entire showroom again, someone appeared and asked if I've been helped. The person asked if I had an appointment and that they will look for help. Didn't realize I needed an appointment either. Waited around for a bit longer and decided to leave. Told the person who asked me if I needed help that I was leaving (he was outside talking to another colleague). His response was that everyone was busy and didn't care that I was leaving. A simple, "I'm sorry about that, can I get your information" or something would have been helpful. I've been to many dealers in the past and this dealer made it seem like they didn't care for my business. read more

Wendy is service department is terrible. First i call in advanced to see if i can come in and they said its not busy nobody at all. I went right away then all sudden they're packed with 47 clients?? Second they didn't have the license plate light replacement available which is understandable not to have those type of parts in stock. Then she tells me she can't reset my oil change light since i did not get an oil change with them/service. However when i go to the dtla dealership they have the part, and had no problem offering me to reset the light for me. They also over charged me saying its going to be $160 to change the light meanwhile im in the dtla dealership getting charger $90 for the parts including the labor. Shady ass service at the pasadena location i would rather go to dtla location. They offered no solution nor was attentive to my situation. read more

I wanted to thank Ron Hancock for handling my warranty issue with my 2018 VW wagon, I first tried 2 dealerships in my area one whom i purchased my car from, and that would be good old Mckenna VW, both dealerships declined to take my vehicle in for warranty repair without first a $750 deposit at Cerritos and $200 deposit at Huntington Beach, when asked why was being charged for a "leaking roof" which turns out to be a very common problem with this particular car model, I was told this was VW of America "thing" that all cars have to pay a deposit then be refunded "if the car is actually under warranty" i quickly reported this to VW of North America and lets just say Mckenna will be in for a rude awakening. Now back to Pasadena i made an appointment over the phone explained my issue gave my cars information to clarify that i was indeed still under my new car bumper to bumper warranty and all i was told was "when would you like to bring the car in" Pasadena did not ask me for any money for a deposit , they did not ask me any stupid questions just straightforward and to the point. Upon Arrival meet Ron and he was very responsive when i texted him, he updated almost every day on what was happening to my vehicle, he was even apologetic when a part ordered for my warranty repair was lost during shipping and he quickly ordered another from another supplier. Thank you again, now your probably wondering why the 4 stars? Not 5 ?. When I arrived to pick up my car i was given the keys by another associate since Ron was out of the office, when i i opened my car door its looks as if my interior was in shambles, my seats was scuffed , my door since my car is beige was marked by i can only tell as shoe marks , now i understand that my warranty repair involved removing and installing a brand new complete headliner and thats a big job, so im sure the technician had to work and struggle moving around my interior trying to remove and install that big part. What i did not understand is why give me the car back when you know perfectly well that the mess made was not cleaned up, i appreciate you Pasadena but this is something you have to ask yourself would you give back a car you worked on in this condition back to the customer? I told the other associate and a porter came and did a wipe down of the panels and tried to remedy the stains. Unfortunately my new beige headliner has scuffs and greased finger prints all over and the fact is my only stain was in the back where the water damage issue when i came in, now the whole new headliner installed is marked everywhere which i now have to take to my detailer address the stains, once again truly thankful to you VW Pasadena as you honored my factory VW warranty but this is a simple fix which i hope you address to your technicians and porters that a vehicle worked on can not be delivered back to the owner this way...... **updated and response to Karl the manager who replied back through YELP. Thank you Karl for your reply unfortunately now that you see some of the pictures i had to spend money to clean up the mess made by your technician , I once again want to emphasize i thank your dealership with helping with my warranty repair but I now can not stand what was done to my interior after, I pride myself by taking care of my car now i just paid my detailer as the headliner as you saw in some pics is basically black along the edges and finger prints all over during its installation at your dealership, you really want to remedy this issue? i first would appreciate a phone call from you, you have my number and this a "long shot" but pay for the cleaning simple as that., ... read more
