We own three different makes of vehicles, so we've had our fair share of experiences with dealerships. Unfortunately, the service at the other two dealerships has often been disappointing. My experience at Volkswagen Pasadena has been the complete opposite. I've taken my ID. Buzz in for service twice, and Wendy has been absolutely amazing. This story has sad and good news. The short of it -- I parted with my '16 VW Tiguan this past weekend. In the years that I had it, it was reliable, comfortable and got us through the worst -- the Eaton fires. After that event, it wasn't the same in performance. This is for the service center. The sales side of the dealer were wonderful when we purchased our vehicle March of 2025. Since then servicing the vehicle has been thorny. For a car that was sold at $70,000 we should have researched VW's service rating. JD Powers rated them at the bottom. There is no service shuttle or loaner cars unless your vehicle is disabled. Since we at least 32 miles away from the dealer, it costs us a lot to take the car and get back to our house since even a maintenance service is overnight. They haven't kept the time they said they will need to maintain the car. When we complained to the assistant manager, he basically told us he will accommodate the third party vendor fixing the car before he would accommodate the customer. Which meant both me and my husband lost an entire day waiting for a fix for a chipped windshield under warranty. read more

Billy had us in and out so quickly! We saw the most perfect Jetta for our daughter listed online, called Billy who confirmed its availability, and he had it ready to test drive right when we arrived. called earlier today and spoke with John to explain my current lease situation. I was very clear that I was not ready to buy today and that my current lease has negative equity. John encouraged me to come in anyway. Once I arrived, his attitude completely changed. He was noticeably unenthusiastic and unwilling to help. He didn't show me any of the vehicles we discussed over the phone and made no effort to walk the lot or explain options. Instead, he simply sat me at his desk and threw out rough numbers without any real discussion or guidance. Overall, the experience felt rushed and dismissive. Walked in on a Tuesday evening around 5pm, looking to get a car for my Mom as a gift. Went through the entire showroom and outside to look at some cars on my own. No one was around to greet me or asked if I needed help. As I walked back in and took my time walking through the entire showroom again, someone appeared and asked if I've been helped. The person asked if I had an appointment and that they will look for help. Didn't realize I needed an appointment either. Waited around for a bit longer and decided to leave. Told the person who asked me if I needed help that I was leaving (he was outside talking to another colleague). His response was that everyone was busy and didn't care that I was leaving. A simple, "I'm sorry about that, can I get your information" or something would have been helpful. I've been to many dealers in the past and this dealer made it seem like they didn't care for my business. read more

I had a terrible experience at Volkswagen Pasadena, and honestly, I'm still shocked at how poorly I was treated. I went in with a simple request--to help identify a noise coming from my suspension. Instead of actually trying to help, the service advisor (a skinny blonde guy--unfortunately I didn't catch his name) completely brushed me off. He immediately told me they would need to keep the car all day, then started giving me a condescending explanation about how there are "millions of components" and they'd need to do a full inspection... basically talking just to avoid helping. What really crossed the line was when he suggested I should just get rid of the car because it's "probably too old" and buy a new one. That's beyond unprofessional--it's insulting. What makes this even worse is that I'm a returning customer. Just last year, I spent $17,000 + at this same dealership to replace the engine. And this is the level of service I get? I ended up going to Volkswagen Downtown LA instead, and the difference was night and day. The service advisor immediately took a test drive with me, quickly identified the issue, and got it fixed. I ended up spending about $2,500 + (also did additional work), and I'm actually happy I did--because they treated me with respect and professionalism. Avoid Volkswagen Pasadena if you expect basic customer service. This place clearly doesn't value returning customers. read more

Wendy is service department is terrible. First i call in advanced to see if i can come in and they said its not busy nobody at all. I went right away then all sudden they're packed with 47 clients?? Second they didn't have the license plate light replacement available which is understandable not to have those type of parts in stock. Then she tells me she can't reset my oil change light since i did not get an oil change with them/service. However when i go to the dtla dealership they have the part, and had no problem offering me to reset the light for me. They also over charged me saying its going to be $160 to change the light meanwhile im in the dtla dealership getting charger $90 for the parts including the labor. Shady ass service at the pasadena location i would rather go to dtla location. They offered no solution nor was attentive to my situation. read more
