Unpleasant experience getting our car serviced. Dropped off our Mazda for appt at 10am on a weekday. Was told it would take ~2 hours. Cool. Called ~3 hours to check the status & got sent to AI voicemail. Returned in person after 1pm & was told it would be another 15 min or LESS. We had another appt at 2pm so I left & my partner waited for the car to be done since we were under the impression it wouldn't take much longer. It took another 1 hour, 10 minutes for the car to finally be done, after bugging our associate multiple times on the status (he would not update us without asking). Bottom line: It's understandable if it's busy, but keep people updated OR provide realistic wait times to begin with. read more

I decided to try New Century Mazda which was over an hour and half away and was connected with Mark B. It was a completely different experience as if they appreciated my business and also believed we can both win with a fair deal. Mark was clear and did not waste my time. A short, simple negotiation and in a matter of minutes we agreed to a deal by phone. The next morning Mark was waiting in parking lot for our appointment with new car ready for final delivery prep. New Century Mazda is new on the block in Alhambra and currently under construction but still open for business. I contacted them regarding a 2025 Mazda 3 HB Carbon edition and I was connected with salesmen Thomas. Friendly, easy going and no pressure sales. I found an ad on Autotrader that I was interested in and contacted New Century Mazda. Thomas took my call and offered to send me additional photos of the vehicle. My daughter and I drove out to their lot and test drove the car. Thomas provided me with the CarFax and a detailed report of the work their service center did in preparing it for sale. The vehicle had not yet been detailed and the cloth interior had some stains, but Thomas assured us the vehicle would be thoroughly cleaned with special attention paid to remove the stains. We decided to purchase the vehicle as it was a one owner and in good condition. Thomas sent the car off to be detailed and provided me pictures later that day of how well the interior now looks. We are very excited to pick up the car this Friday. I never felt any pressure from Thomas to purchase the vehicle and the price paid was the listing price. There were no hidden fees that some used car dealers. They didn't have a ton of used cars on their lot, but all the ones I saw were very nice. Dealt with a few of the sales people, but ended up buying from Michael. He was consistent in giving me the information I needed and making sure I got what I was looking for in my new CX70. I was shocked that he did NOT push any of the unnecessary add ons, only suggesting the super affordable extended warranty and the GAP since I didn't leave a down payment. They did take a bit long to get the car cleaned up, but they did bring up an issue (I bought a "used car" only had 315 miles) with a system in the car, but made sure I had an appointment with a loaner for the following weekend. As of now, I have ZERO complaints and would 100% recommend going to New Century Mazda! read more

Traumatizing Experience - Please Be Cautious I came here after reading glowing reviews about how the staff aren't pushy, don't use gimmicks, and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, my experience was the total opposite. I was clear from the start: I was just there for a test drive and wanted to compare other models before making a decision. I actually liked the car, but I wanted to do my due diligence. That's when things got weird. A sales manager physically put himself between me and the exit. I've never had anything like that happen in any retail or sales experience. It felt manipulative and intimidating. Then came the follow-up calls. The associate who helped me called later that day. When I told him I chose a different vehicle, he wouldn't let me off the phone. When I finally said I needed to go, he just hung up--no goodbye, no professionalism. The next day, I ignored a call from the dealership. A minute later, I got a text from the rep that said: "Wow." Passive-aggressive much? I never agreed to be contacted like that, and that kind of attitude is not okay--especially over text. I understand that not every customer is going to buy a car. But how you treat someone after they say "no" speaks volumes. This experience completely turned me off--not just from this dealership, but from the brand. My overall experience with one said "manager" gets them 1 star. Forgetful and contradicting. Be sure to cross all "T's" and dot all "I's". Document everything by text or in writing or through email only. Do not rely on verbal correspondence. If you require an answer to a question or something confirmed do not move forward until it's provided or it may be ultimately denied or contraticted. Even with written documentation said claimed "manager" will deny or dispute it. Prices some of the best. Although I felt short changed at the finish line in my case and in my opinion. They were the closest dealer with the vehicle in stock. Transaction should have been a slam dunk. Personally I felt more slammed. I should have opted for another dealer having the same car but with much longer drive. Much more driving but much less aggrevation. I also found it necessary having to do their job myself over the following days. Installing the $225 Black Lug Nuts & Locks not ordered but as individual options on window sticker. They were not installed onto wheels but left in a box in the trunk. The dealer's responsibility to install or at least admit that was neglected and then advise. Displayed an oh well attitude. The dealer's final vehicle check list not completed and found in the glove box left blank and unsigned. More dealer neglect. I reviewed and self inspected the car next day. I found the tire PSI was inconsistent in the 4 tires and varied between 55 and 60 PSI. Something done to prevent flat spots during shipping and for storing. Dealers responsibility to check and inflate to proper psi before delivery was neglected. A liability and safety issue. No comment from the dealership. Another oh well. No one in in the dealership once suggested to bring the vehicle back to do a follow up inspection while I was present. There were more issues with the dealer experience. It was necessary to ultimately contact Mazda. All were resolved by contacting My Mazda Customer Experience. They will take care of you if you have your documentation and if your concerns are valid. They will become very involved and are very fair when accessing the situation. They are genuinely concerned and treat you with respect. 5 stars go to them and the Mazda brand. read more

I'm happy with the car I purchased, but everything that came after has been an absolute nightmare. I was forced to pay $1,600 for Karr Security, only to find out three months later from Karr themselves that my car isn't even compatible with the system. Since then, I have been desperately trying to reach someone at the dealership -- anyone -- to get this resolved. Every time I call, I get routed into the same useless system that promises a text follow-up but never actually replies. Some salespeople were polite, but my last interaction was the final straw. I explained, once again, how I keep getting nowhere, and the salesperson was unbelievably rude -- telling me, "There's nothing I can do, so tell me what you want to do -- get transferred or not." I chose to be transferred, and of course, it went straight to a busy signal. I called back again, just to ask what hours the manager I needed was in, and the same salesperson answered. His response? "I don't know. Some days he comes in and some days he doesn't." Completely unhelpful and dismissive. This dealership clearly does not care once they have your money. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic respect has been shocking. I regret ever stepping foot here. Finally, the car market is stabilizing from the chip shortages in 2021 and 2022. Dealers are able to offer more discounts and it's becoming more of a buyer's market. I decided that the time to buy was now and to stop driving my old Mazda (poor car) as my wife liked to call it lol. I was actually talking to two other Mazda dealers before Tommy from New Century called me to stop by. Originally, I was doubtful if they could provide me a good deal on a new cx-5. However, they were very competitive on the pricing and I ended up buying that same day. Most of their new inventory is in a separate storage lot as they are currently building a brand new facility there. I really appreciated Tommy walking to pick up the car on a hot summer day. They also accepted my 2007 Mazda with 255k miles for a trade in that had some issues. After some negotiation, we finally agreed on a deal and I bought a new 2024 Mazda CX5 Premium! I also got 0% APR financing for 36 months which was nice. If you're looking for a new or new used car, I'd definitely recommend seeing what they could do for you. Tommy was very helpful and professional in answering all my questions and fulfilling my personal requests such as providing a bow for the car since this was an early birthday gift to myself. My service adviser was professional and provided great communication. Unfortunately, the service techs were not careful and downright careless. I had my rearview camera replaced and they left a loose screw inside my rear door/hatch. You can hear it roll when I open the hatch. My car was also freshly washed and detailed before my visit so it was super obvious when I had my car returned dirty. Black fingerprints on the doors, rear hatch, and interior. This dealership made some of the most dishonest moves I've ever seen a business do. Avoid. TLDR, they: -Raised the previous offer by ~2500 in one afternoon -Hid the salesperson that made that offer in an office and told us he wasn't there -Faked a KBB trade-in value evaluation -Said the previous offer was only verbal, not on paper, so they won't honor the offer At first things seemed smooth: our salesperson was Daniel, who was eager to help, let us test drove the car and quickly evaluated our trade-in ($2000). He then offered a ~1000 discount on the asking price of 25000. We thought it was a good deal, but went to another dealership for comparisons. After seeing the other car, we decided to buy the Outback at Century Mazda, but when we returned a couple of hours later, another salesperson, Thomas, said Daniel went somewhere else. He then pulled up some numbers, and said my trade-in is now worth $750, and offered us the original price of 25000 for the Outback. We asked for Daniel, but Thomas said he wasn't back yet. Then, after more waiting, Thomas said that our trade-in is now worth 1000. We went to the manager to tell them that this is unacceptable, only to find Daniel sitting with the managers. We asked the manager, Shadi, what happened to our previous offer, and he said that he knew nothing about the previous offer, then pulled up a "KBB" evaluation PDF on the trade in that says 750. I had a KBB instant offer a month ago that shows the car was worth 1800. When I asked to see where did the evaluation actually came from, he showed us this website that is not KBB. Then he said that my car depreciated by half in a month, and said the website he used was KBB because of a small logo on the site. I made him to make a KBB evaluation on the actual website, and the car was valued at ~1500. Then he went on saying "Daniel's previous offer was not on paper, so it doesn't count", and so on and so forth, and we left without buying the car, having wasted about five hours there. We made sure to tell them that this is a disgusting way to do business. It is sad to see that this dishonest business have such good reviews on Google and Yelp (which is why we chose to visit). When I showed up, he played no games and immediately pulled out the invoice for the price and financing terms that we had agreed on over email/phone. On 09/30/24 Bad experience with this location. This is the second time that I have done service due here. I was disappointed with the staff service her name Karem. When I make sure with her about what service is due today include, She tries to answer me quickly and wants to finish the conversation. She said they do oil changes, oil filters, fill all liquid, and tire rotation because I have a service plan with Mazda. I waited 2 hours a long time more than usual. She said they were short of staff. That's fine. When I asked to follow my car with the next person because Karem was taking a break his name was Jerry his attitude was so not welcome and talking to me like annoying. Finally, Karem sent a video about the inspection of my car today the video shows Juan explaining everything also the top of the windshield washer. When I come back home. I checked my car they didn't fill the windshield washer and didn't do tire rotation. It is so BAD that you guys unprofessional and not honest to customers. My car should finish for service in 45 min or 1 hour because you didn't do anything that it should be. No Worry I'll not come back for sure. Your location should provide great service and not lie to the customers, at least the customer comes back to do maintenance with you guys. I recently discovered New Century Mazda in Alhambra. I think they opened about 5 months ago. I took my car in for service, and I was pleasantly surprised at their customer service. I got an oil change and rear brakes. They were honest about what service my car needed and they had great customer service. I was having one of "those mornings" and after getting dropped off at my house I realized I left my house keys. I went back and they gladly dropped me back at home. After getting my breaks finish, I smelled a weird smell. I went back, no judgement and they explained how it's normal when you first get breaks done. They also explained things that are not normal. Well, they were right, after driving a bit more the smell went away. My advisor was Borys Chinchilla. And I forgot the two gentlemen that also dropped me off. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. They are in a temp bungalow while they build the new building. But definitely worth taking your car. The only I hope they include is service coupons. Before, I was driving to Glendale Mazda and I often received service coupons. read more
