To say that car shopping is always like pulling teeth is an understatement. But going to this dealership feels like having all of them pulled at once. It was definitely an unpleasant experience. They played the classic good-cop, bad-cop routine. John was nice at first, but then he brought in his manager, who decided that my offer of fair market value wasn't going to cut it. The manager came in hot and abrasive, immediately lecturing me about 'being respectful.' At that point, I just laughed him off and walked out. I hadn't even said a single word to him yet. For him to be so demeaning, condescending, and ignorant was simply not worth my time. I refuse to pay new car prices for a used car, you should too. That's the only way we are going to break out of this ridiculous rhetoric that cars don't lose value anymore from them. Also, they did the whole sleazy 'four square' sales approach... as if they didn't know that EVERYONE knows that scam by now. read more

I spent a significant amount of time working with New Century Mazda on a used Mazda CX-30 and was genuinely prepared to purchase the car. Unfortunately, the way the dealership handled issues discovered during my independent pre-purchase inspection ultimately caused me to walk away. My inspectors found two cracks in the front bumper that had not been disclosed to me and were not reflected on the CARFAX, as well as an issue with a tire and a cabin air filter that needed replacement. When I went to point out the issues on the bumper before we took it for a test drive, the salesman said he already knew about them. But he never pointed them out to me. They agreed to replace the tire and cabin filter. The bumper was where things fell apart. They would not repair it. I explained that I had negotiated the price without knowing the bumper was damaged, so if they weren't willing to repair it, I wanted to revisit the price now that I had new information about the vehicle's condition. Instead, I was told that buying a used car "comes with things like that" and that the damage was already built into the price. That response didn't make sense to me. I couldn't have factored undisclosed damage into what I was willing to pay when I didn't know it existed. I wasn't demanding a perfect used car, nor was I accusing the dealership of causing the damage. I simply wanted them to either repair the cracked bumper or have a reasonable conversation about the price in light of what my independent inspection had uncovered. They declined, so I thanked them and left. There were aspects of the experience that were perfectly fine, and the salesperson spent quite a bit of time with me over two visits. But I was disappointed that after investing that much time in the transaction, there seemed to be no interest in finding a reasonable solution once the inspection revealed an issue I hadn't known about. I would strongly recommend that anyone buying a used vehicle here, or anywhere, get an independent pre-purchase inspection before signing. In my case, I'm very glad I did. read more

After deciding on Mazda3 was the car we wanted, I contacted six dealerships for quote. All of them somehow arrived at about same "best price" quote which was a small dealer discount. I decided to try New Century Mazda which was over an hour and half away and was connected with Mark B. It was a completely different experience as if they appreciated my business and also believed we can both win with a fair deal. Mark was clear and did not waste my time. A short, simple negotiation and in a matter of minutes we agreed to a deal by phone. The next morning Mark was waiting in parking lot for our appointment with new car ready for final delivery prep. This dealership is under renovation but don't let minor dust get in way of a great deal. Mark is easy going, genuine guy doing his job well and saved me a significant amount. Give Mark and this dealership a chance and you wont be disappointed. read more

I brought my car in for its first oil change. They are undergoing construction but the wait was short and I appreciated the video they sent me showing the mechanic's work on the car. I came to this dealership because it's closer to me and I wanted to purchase my leased car. I usually go to the Puente Hills location, but my last visit there was very disappointing. I really don't like dealing with overly pushy salespeople. I understand they want to sell, but they also need to respect what the customer wants. This location was straightforward, actually listened, and made sure I was happy and satisfied. Even though they're remodeling and the waiting area isn't the most comfortable, they still left a great impression. Mark was very helpful, and so was the Sales Manager, Art. Having owned a Mazda in the past, I was eager to be back in one due to their reliability, comfort, quality interiors. New Century Mazda is new on the block in Alhambra and currently under construction but still open for business. I contacted them regarding a 2025 Mazda 3 HB Carbon edition and I was connected with salesmen Thomas. Friendly, easy going and no pressure sales. If you are serious about buying a Mazda and or are interested in one give them a chance to earn your business. I don't want to butcher names but Thomas manager Milan I believe it was, is good to deal with as well. Milan is professional and straight forward, no sales gimmicks or shadiness. Love my new Mazda and I hope to deal with them again when the time comes for an upgrade. Dealt with a few of the sales people, but ended up buying from Michael. He was consistent in giving me the information I needed and making sure I got what I was looking for in my new CX70. I was shocked that he did NOT push any of the unnecessary add ons, only suggesting the super affordable extended warranty and the GAP since I didn't leave a down payment. They did take a bit long to get the car cleaned up, but they did bring up an issue (I bought a "used car" only had 315 miles) with a system in the car, but made sure I had an appointment with a loaner for the following weekend. As of now, I have ZERO complaints and would 100% recommend going to New Century Mazda! read more

I found an ad on Autotrader that I was interested in and contacted New Century Mazda. Thomas took my call and offered to send me additional photos of the vehicle. My daughter and I drove out to their lot and test drove the car. Thomas provided me with the CarFax and a detailed report of the work their service center did in preparing it for sale. The vehicle had not yet been detailed and the cloth interior had some stains, but Thomas assured us the vehicle would be thoroughly cleaned with special attention paid to remove the stains. We decided to purchase the vehicle as it was a one owner and in good condition. Thomas sent the car off to be detailed and provided me pictures later that day of how well the interior now looks. We are very excited to pick up the car this Friday. I never felt any pressure from Thomas to purchase the vehicle and the price paid was the listing price. There were no hidden fees that some used car dealers. They didn't have a ton of used cars on their lot, but all the ones I saw were very nice. I think that New Century Mazda is picky about which trade-ins they offer on their lot, and Thomas was an absolute pleasure to work with. read more

Traumatizing Experience - Please Be Cautious I came here after reading glowing reviews about how the staff aren't pushy, don't use gimmicks, and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, my experience was the total opposite. I was clear from the start: I was just there for a test drive and wanted to compare other models before making a decision. I actually liked the car, but I wanted to do my due diligence. That's when things got weird. A sales manager physically put himself between me and the exit. I've never had anything like that happen in any retail or sales experience. It felt manipulative and intimidating. Then came the follow-up calls. The associate who helped me called later that day. When I told him I chose a different vehicle, he wouldn't let me off the phone. When I finally said I needed to go, he just hung up--no goodbye, no professionalism. The next day, I ignored a call from the dealership. A minute later, I got a text from the rep that said: "Wow." Passive-aggressive much? I never agreed to be contacted like that, and that kind of attitude is not okay--especially over text. I understand that not every customer is going to buy a car. But how you treat someone after they say "no" speaks volumes. This experience completely turned me off--not just from this dealership, but from the brand. TL;DR: Pushy sales tactics, guilt-tripping, unprofessional follow-ups, and a literal physical block at the exit. Don't fall for the "we're low-pressure" narrative. Also: Don't sit down anywhere you can't see the door. read more

I went into New Century Mazda with a general idea of what I wanted, but I did not have every detail figured out. Thomas was the person who truly brought that vision to life. From the moment we started talking, he was honest, direct, and incredibly genuine. He never once tried to upsell me or make the price go up for something that I did not actually need. Instead, he patiently walked me through my options, explained the differences clearly, and helped me think through what would realistically fit my needs, lifestyle, and budget. What really stood out to me was that Thomas did not treat me like just another sale. He treated me like a person whose trust mattered. He answered every question thoughtfully and never rushed me, which made the entire experience feel calm and stress free. His approach felt grounded in integrity and doing what is truly best for the customer, not just what looks good on paper. That is rare in the car buying world and something I sincerely appreciated. Because of my experience working with Thomas, I now confidently recommend New Century Mazda as a whole to friends and family who are looking for a new car. I feel genuinely comfortable saying that Thomas is someone I can trust with any future car purchase. He will without a doubt be my go to dealer when the time comes for my next vehicle. If you are nervous about buying a car or just want to work with someone honest, knowledgeable, and respectful, I highly recommend asking for Thomas. read more

I'm happy with the car I purchased, but everything that came after has been an absolute nightmare. I was forced to pay $1,600 for Karr Security, only to find out three months later from Karr themselves that my car isn't even compatible with the system. Since then, I have been desperately trying to reach someone at the dealership -- anyone -- to get this resolved. Every time I call, I get routed into the same useless system that promises a text follow-up but never actually replies. Some salespeople were polite, but my last interaction was the final straw. I explained, once again, how I keep getting nowhere, and the salesperson was unbelievably rude -- telling me, "There's nothing I can do, so tell me what you want to do -- get transferred or not." I chose to be transferred, and of course, it went straight to a busy signal. I called back again, just to ask what hours the manager I needed was in, and the same salesperson answered. His response? "I don't know. Some days he comes in and some days he doesn't." Completely unhelpful and dismissive. This dealership clearly does not care once they have your money. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic respect has been shocking. I regret ever stepping foot here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. *(Except salesman Thomas Vong, he was always kind, respectful, and helpful) read more

The overall vibe was that they were trying to take advantage of me as a young woman. They thought they could pull a fast one on me and I would believe it... No. I let them know I was really just there to test drive as I was doing research on which car I wanted, but they were really trying to get me to buy. It felt scary at one point like I wouldn't be able to leave. I finally I got fed up and told them I was leaving because I was hungry and tired. I stood up and then the manager told my boyfriend to "feed me" because I "it looked like I needed it" in such a weird tone. Idk... I bought my Mazda somewhere else though so it worked out well I guess. read more

My overall experience with one said "manager" gets them 1 star. Forgetful and contradicting. Be sure to cross all "T's" and dot all "I's". Document everything by text or in writing or through email only. Do not rely on verbal correspondence. If you require an answer to a question or something confirmed do not move forward until it's provided or it may be ultimately denied or contraticted. Even with written documentation said claimed "manager" will deny or dispute it. Prices some of the best. Although I felt short changed at the finish line in my case and in my opinion. They were the closest dealer with the vehicle in stock. Transaction should have been a slam dunk. Personally I felt more slammed. I should have opted for another dealer having the same car but with much longer drive. Much more driving but much less aggrevation. I also found it necessary having to do their job myself over the following days. Installing the $225 Black Lug Nuts & Locks not ordered but as individual options on window sticker. They were not installed onto wheels but left in a box in the trunk. The dealer's responsibility to install or at least admit that was neglected and then advise. Displayed an oh well attitude. The dealer's final vehicle check list not completed and found in the glove box left blank and unsigned. More dealer neglect. I reviewed and self inspected the car next day. I found the tire PSI was inconsistent in the 4 tires and varied between 55 and 60 PSI. Something done to prevent flat spots during shipping and for storing. Dealers responsibility to check and inflate to proper psi before delivery was neglected. A liability and safety issue. No comment from the dealership. Another oh well. No one in in the dealership once suggested to bring the vehicle back to do a follow up inspection while I was present. There were more issues with the dealer experience. It was necessary to ultimately contact Mazda. All were resolved by contacting My Mazda Customer Experience. They will take care of you if you have your documentation and if your concerns are valid. They will become very involved and are very fair when accessing the situation. They are genuinely concerned and treat you with respect. 5 stars go to them and the Mazda brand. read more

Finally, the car market is stabilizing from the chip shortages in 2021 and 2022. Dealers are able to offer more discounts and it's becoming more of a buyer's market. I decided that the time to buy was now and to stop driving my old Mazda (poor car) as my wife liked to call it lol. I was actually talking to two other Mazda dealers before Tommy from New Century called me to stop by. Originally, I was doubtful if they could provide me a good deal on a new cx-5. However, they were very competitive on the pricing and I ended up buying that same day. Most of their new inventory is in a separate storage lot as they are currently building a brand new facility there. I really appreciated Tommy walking to pick up the car on a hot summer day. They also accepted my 2007 Mazda with 255k miles for a trade in that had some issues. After some negotiation, we finally agreed on a deal and I bought a new 2024 Mazda CX5 Premium! I also got 0% APR financing for 36 months which was nice. If you're looking for a new or new used car, I'd definitely recommend seeing what they could do for you. Tommy was very helpful and professional in answering all my questions and fulfilling my personal requests such as providing a bow for the car since this was an early birthday gift to myself. Thanks to Jorge and Shady also for their assistance in completing the paperwork. I will be back for servicing and can't wait to see the new building once it is built! read more

This dealership made some of the most dishonest moves I've ever seen a business do. Avoid. TLDR, they: -Raised the previous offer by ~2500 in one afternoon -Hid the salesperson that made that offer in an office and told us he wasn't there -Faked a KBB trade-in value evaluation -Said the previous offer was only verbal, not on paper, so they won't honor the offer At first things seemed smooth: our salesperson was Daniel, who was eager to help, let us test drove the car and quickly evaluated our trade-in ($2000). He then offered a ~1000 discount on the asking price of 25000. We thought it was a good deal, but went to another dealership for comparisons. After seeing the other car, we decided to buy the Outback at Century Mazda, but when we returned a couple of hours later, another salesperson, Thomas, said Daniel went somewhere else. He then pulled up some numbers, and said my trade-in is now worth $750, and offered us the original price of 25000 for the Outback. We asked for Daniel, but Thomas said he wasn't back yet. Then, after more waiting, Thomas said that our trade-in is now worth 1000. We went to the manager to tell them that this is unacceptable, only to find Daniel sitting with the managers. We asked the manager, Shadi, what happened to our previous offer, and he said that he knew nothing about the previous offer, then pulled up a "KBB" evaluation PDF on the trade in that says 750. I had a KBB instant offer a month ago that shows the car was worth 1800. When I asked to see where did the evaluation actually came from, he showed us this website that is not KBB. Then he said that my car depreciated by half in a month, and said the website he used was KBB because of a small logo on the site. I made him to make a KBB evaluation on the actual website, and the car was valued at ~1500. Then he went on saying "Daniel's previous offer was not on paper, so it doesn't count", and so on and so forth, and we left without buying the car, having wasted about five hours there. We made sure to tell them that this is a disgusting way to do business. It is sad to see that this dishonest business have such good reviews on Google and Yelp (which is why we chose to visit). I also posted this review on Google. Daniel seemed nice, but the two managers, Shadi and Jorge, are sleazy to the bones. read more

Israel is the absolute man! The most genuine car salesman you'll come across. I contacted over 10 dealers for pricing, and Israel's was the best. When I showed up, he played no games and immediately pulled out the invoice for the price and financing terms that we had agreed on over email/phone. I actually went to Browning Mazda before New Century. I had agreed on a price with them too, and they played all sorts of games with me when I showed up around warranties and financing. They wanted to finance me at 9% for a 800 credit score LOL. Walked out and went straight to New Century. Night and day experience. Can't recommend Israel enough.
