An unexpected and unpleasant wake up call woke me up. I was informed that the car would not start. Not being at the same location as the car, I was faced with turmoil on coming up with a strategy to deliver the car to the Goudy service department. Having other plans and being unable to bring the car into the service department that day, I called Goudy's service department where I was assisted by service advisor Egan Kwan. He advised me of my options in getting the car into the shop without my having to step foot into the shop that same day, when time would not allow me. He worked with me to accommodate my schedule and kept me up to date with several phone calls throughout the process. Having a tow company tow my car into the service department without my presence was a bit nerve racking, but Egan gave me a call as soon as the car reached the dealership, assuring me of its safe arrival. The repair of the car was complete by the anticipated time, but because I could not pick it up the same day, I was given the option to store the car there until it was convenient for me to pick up. That definitely eased the load off my shoulders. I very much appreciated that alternative. He assured me that they had a secure area where the car would be stored. When I arrived to retrieve my vehicle on a different day, I was promptly assisted by a receptionist who handed me the paperwork and I was off painlessly waiting for the delivery of the car. If you want fast and helpful service, this is the place to go! When the car arrived at the pick up area, Oscar Chavez promptly demonstrated excellent customer service. Though he was inside attending to other matters, nowhere near the delivery of my automobile, he still took the initiative to come outside and assure that my satisfaction was reached with the car. He was professional and attentive. Oscar walked out from the office to pleasantly greet me and made me feel like a valued customer before I departed the service area. Taking care of a problem with a car is a drab in its own, but its needs become a more piercing burden when people have other hindrances on their mind. I was delightfully pleased that Oscar patiently appeased all my concerns. I had quite a few questions as I was still learning about the functions of the new car. That was not a problem for Oscar. He was calm and attentive with me the entire time. Oscar offered his knowledgeable assistance and advice. He empathetically listened to my concerns and addressed all my questions, despite how menial they might have been. In addition, he offered to address and assist with any future concerns with my car. Oscar is one service advisor/manager that treats his customers with great care and respect. He is prompt at returning phone calls and responsive at addressing your automobile needs. Also, as a customer taking a car into a service center to have our car's needs addressed, I need to feel that I can trust the advise and workmanship of the service staff. The technician(s) did a great job as evidenced by the excellent mechanical condition of the automobile. Last, but most important, knowing that Oscar's suggestions and advices are honestly genuine, I know I can trust him in full to take care of my future automobile needs. You can be sure there's no fishy business going on here. Having worked in the customer department (non auto related), I compare that whether as a service advisor/manager or any other position, there are certain things out of their control. But those things that are within their control, the staff at Goudy shows integrity in following through. They advise as best as they could with the given information they have at the moment and are prompt at providing that information to you. That is what great customer service is about! Don't let the couple of negative reviews from probably someone who was having a bad day, unreasonable expectations, and/or taking out their external frustration on the innocent and wonderful staff at Goudy veer you away from their stupendous service. I'd like to take this time to thank Oscar, Egan and the Honda staff for your outstanding job. Though people don't express praise enough, I am sure there are many more customers out there who think highly of Goudy's staff as well! Keep up the admirable work!! In summary, the entire process with my car service was a breezy and sunny walk in the park, all because both Egan and Oscar had made my experience a pleasant one from point A to point B. Review for their service department. Came in for "express" oil change on a Wed around 2-3pm. I drove in front of the service dept office, and a staff came to me promptly asking me what I needed. I told him oil change and tire rotation. He quoted me 2 hours. Not so express, but I decided to wait because it was more of a hassle to come back. It seemed that he was trying to convince people to come back another time. I heard another lady telling him "you told me yesterday to come back at this time because the wait would be shorter." Another guy comes to take down my info. He was nice and told me about the oil change + tire rotation special that they had, which was about $51+tax, which would save me $ (I had a coupon for oil change for $46, but tire rotation on top of that would be $17 extra). I happily left and came back in 2 hours. The lady that helped me when I picked up my car didn't tell me that the mechanic did not rotate my tire because there was a nail in one of them. I signed the invoice, didn't think much about all that text on the invoice as I assumed that they had performed the services that I had paid for. After all, no one called me about anything unusual. I then asked the manager to fill out my Honda service booklet to indicate the services that was done. He looked over the invoice and also failed to tell me that they did not rotate the tire for the above reason. It was only I went home, about to file away my receipt when I came across what was written there. It said the tire can be patched for $24. I wish they had called me because I would have asked them to patch it at that time so that my tires can be rotated. No biggie, I figure it was partly my fault for not reading the invoice closely. I went back 2 days later, around 1pm. Same thing - a guy came to me promptly and asked me what I needed, he quoted "3-4 hours", just to patch a tire and rotate a tire? Ridiculous. I told him what happened and that I was just there 2 days ago and this simple oil change and tire rotation are causing me lots of wasted time of waiting. He said, sorry, 3-4 hours. I don't think they really care to have any business, based on the way they are managing their poor workflow and giving such long wait time for simply things. Mind you, I had called earlier to ask if I need to make an appointment, and they said "No". They need to look at how to improve the waiting time - either implement appointment even for the supposedly "express" oil change, and also to improve their staff communication with the customer so that if a service was not performed, someone should notify the customer before he/she pays. I ended up going to another place for tire rotation and tire patch (for free at Crown City Tire - awesome place!) that took only 30 minutes. I will give one star for the price of the oil change at Goudy, which is actually reasonable. Another star for the overall professional staff (albeit not as competent as I'd like). But definitely not coming back here til they fixed the above issues. read more

I wanted to not write this review but the more I thought about it, the more pissed off I was about the customer service I received. I read a couple of other negative reviews and saw that many people had the same issues as I did. The lack of professionalism and the abundance of attitude is completely unacceptable The first time I visited Goudy Honda, one of the managers seemed to not want to negotiate with me and my family. Given that my father is not completely fluent in English, I can sort of understand why there might have been some frustration. However, this does not change the fact that we are paying customers. At a infrastructure like Goudy, is it too much to expect some decent customer service? The manager was very condescending in his tone, speaking louder and slower whenever my father could not understand. He spoke to us like we were impaired. The next time I visited Goudy Honda, the same manager had approached my family. This time, whatever training he had in customer service had completely been out the window and he seemed to be berating us. We had some issues with the bank regarding the purchase of our car which prompted us to have to return to Goudy in order to sort it out. When I walked through the door, I did not expect to receive this type of treatment. He did not give me a single chance to talk and lectured me like he was my own father or something. When my dad tried to speak up he would hush him and tell him to listen. Seeing someone disrespect my own kind made me furious! I would think that working in a car dealership they would teach you how to talk to customers but I guess not. On top of the utter disrespect I got from the manager, when it was finally time to talk to a finance director, I got a very patronizing comment from the lady working. I tried to put what events just happened behind me so I can sign my contracts and get the hell out of the dealership. I was only more disappointed when the lady sarcastically asking if I was okay because of the look on my face. This comment was completely out of line. She later told me that my family and I were the reason she could not get her lunch. As said before, terrible customer service. Had it not been for the salesman who introduced me to my car and offered all of his help, I would have been out the door and bringing my business else where. I am astonished by the lack of respect I received from Goudy Honda and I can promise that I will never be returning here nor will I ever make and recommendations to anyone to come here to buy their car. Due to a RECALL to my Honda Accord 2005 on the airbag inflator, I scheduled an appointment today (this morning) for that to be corrected. I was told that my car would be ready for pick-up this afternoon. At 2:40pm, I received a call from the service advisor Egan telling me that the airbags they had in stock are not from the same manufacturer that I had previously installed in my car. They will need to order the right one (which at this time is back ordered) and I'll have to reschedule another appointment when the order comes in. Fine, no problem I'll wait for it. Here comes the horrible problem, I went to pick up my car at 5:45pm. Place is quiet, only a couple of people waiting for their cars. I give my name, lady says your car will be out shortly. I wait outside...1 customer leaves, and then another. 15 mins elapsed...some girl who came after me got her car before I did. 20 mins later, Egan comes and tell me they can't start my car. Are you serious? You couldn't tell me that earlier (instead of having me wait outside in the cold). Why didn't anyone check that before I came over? My car was working well before I brought it over. Who knows what was disconnected, detached or damaged during the process of their inspection besides the person who did it. Egan kept blaming my starter, which I had replaced about 3 months ago. I had no problems with my starter whatsoever since it was installed. My car was functioning fine. So Egan suggested that I have my car towed to my mechanic and have them fix it Monday. First off, my car was working smoothly before I brought it to you. Due to a recall and for my safety, I decided to bring it in to you. My car being parked in your service center, where you have your mechanics readily available, where my car was damaged and basically stopped working, you ask me to tow it elsewhere? You have mechanics there, why can't they just fix what THEY did? I asked him to fix it right away and first thing out of his mouth: "Are you going to pay for it?" Wow, I feel scammed. I was so frustrated and speechless that this was happening to me, I was literally in tears from the anger and the lack of responsibility that Honda presented. Because of a Honda recall, I end up losing my car not only for the weekend (service dept is closed Sundays) but I won't know when my car will start so I have no car to drive to work Monday, Tuesday, etc...I lose money and time. Avoid Goudy Honda - A Costly and Frustrating Experience I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Goudy Honda, and I can confidently say it was one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with an auto repair shop. If you're considering taking your vehicle there, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I initially brought my car to Goudy Honda because a rat had chewed through some wires, causing various issues. They charged me approximately $200 for a complete diagnostics test, which I agreed to in hopes of getting a thorough and professional assessment. They waived this fee when I agreed to have them do the necessary repairs, which ended up costing me over $3000. While the cost was steep, I thought it would be worth it for quality service. How wrong I was. Within a week of getting my car back, I discovered my windshield wiper fluid container had a leak. Given that I had just paid them a small fortune to fix my car, I expected them to at least assess the damage to determine if it was their fault. If the leak was caused by the rat, their initial $200 diagnostics should have caught it. If the damage occurred after their repairs, why would this part be exposed from the underbelly of the car in the first place? Instead, they insisted I pay another $200 for diagnostics to determine the cause of the leak. Despite the recent extensive work they had done, they refused to even check if they were responsible or offer a discount on the diagnostics fee. This lack of accountability and blatant disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable. Not only did they overcharge me for the initial repairs, but they also tried to nickel-and-dime me for an issue that should have been identified and fixed during the initial service. Their refusal to take responsibility or show any goodwill speaks volumes about their business practices and priorities. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and financial strain - avoid Goudy Honda at all costs. Decided to update my one star review from over a year ago and well...the service is STILL a one star experience. Decided to give this place another shot after a carwash broke off my floor mat lock and to my shocking surprise the service here is still bad. I first got my oil changed here. An overpriced oil change I might add, but since I needed to order the floor mat part and my oil needed to be changed, I thought I midas well get the oil changed. I don't know what it is with some of the guys at the front desk outside but they seem so careless. Like they just don't care. When I was there to get my oil changed, the cashier at parts (who was great btw) told me to ask the front desk if the part I needed was covered under my warranty. (The part was only like $5) so I go and ask the front desk and the guy that I speak to acts like he just doesn't want to be there. Or help me at all. He gives me a lack luster answer just to get me out of his face. Can you at least make it seem like your sure about the answer you just gave me? Heck, acting like you looked into the computer would have sufficed. I come back a couple of days later to pick up the part I ordered. I go to the front desk to see if they can possibly squeeze me in to install the part and to also get pricing. The answer I get is "Their slammed today, so I doubt they can see you." Okay, cool. Soooo, are you going to help me make an appointment on another day? Or how about helping me with how much it will cost to install? Again, I get a vibe that the guy just doesn't want to be there. Not even sure if its the same guy from my first visit. I then decide to call to see if a more competent person can help me. A lady tells me the price to install, and its literally the same, overpriced charge like the oil change I got 2 days prior. ($85) I just laughed and said no thanks. This place is a complete joke. The only thing I needed installed was my lock to the floor mat on the drivers side. A simple, probably 5 minute tops, installation. For $85? Yeah, find another sucker. read more

I have been a Honda owner for over 15 yrs. Within, the past 5 yrs. I have purchased a Honda Civic and this is the only place I go to get it the maintenance done on my civic. The Staff has been courtesy, helpful, and relatively fast turn around time to get my car back. Yes, there were some employee's that didn't meet up to their criteria but those people are no longer there. Jim Sellheim (Service Director) and Reu Ayala (Service Manager) strives for their employee's to treat customers with old fashion customer service and to work as a team. Once your car is in their hands they give your car a look over and will give you recommendations on things that may need to take care of eventually; but they do not push you to get everything fixed like other place do. Only 1 time out of the 5 yrs. I have been taking my car to Goudy Honda Service Department and I had to wait more than 3 hours, but other than that they have given me stellar service every time I am there from the time I pull up till the time I drive away. They have free Coffee and a large waiting area for you to wait if you chose and if your lucky 1 day a week they have donuts. I even enjoy Gina, who drives one of the shuttle van's when you need to go home. I have been to Nelson Honda to get try and get my car service and had a horrible experience, so from now on I will take my Honda to Goudy and would recommend other Honda owners to do the same. read more

Let me start by saying I am not the type of car buyer that strictly buys on price. Aside from fair price another equally important factor is feeling comfortable with the dealership employees and management. I think its penny wise dollar foolish to spend thousands of dollars and chose a dealership simply on price. I'm looking for a dealership that's wants to build a relationship for as long as I own a car purchased from them. So I start by doing my research on car reviews, price and dealerships. Then I visit my local dealers. After grading my experience at each dealership in these categories. I pick the dealership that has the highest grade with a fair price. I chose Goudy because they offered a fair price AND I felt the management has a commitment to making there customers happy not only at the time of sale but the life of the car. I have to say the entire process was smooth. I went to other Honda dealers which I prefer not to mention. Goudy has very long term employees and management which is one of the things I judge a business by. All my questions were answered and they even offered me a better interest rate than my credit union. The salesman was very professional ( It's always fun negotiating) .The sales manager (Mr. De ville) didn't put a dollar sign over my head when we went into his office to close the deal. Service Advisor John K., Service Manager Jim Selheim, & Tecnician Sage I recently had my transmission replaced on my 2007 accord. It cost nearly $4000. I thought it was going to be routine. But it was not going to be. I encountered numerous problems with broken front & side mounts. Service advisor John K. walked and informed me every step of the way. He let me know exactly what needed to be done. If there was a situation that needed handling, he and his service manager, Jim selheim made sure the problem was resolved. Both John K., Jim Selheim, and technician Sage went above and beyond my expectations in helping me resolve my transmission issues and other non-related matters. I was 100% completely satisfied with their service and work. They just took initiative in getting the job done, even though it meant paying for parts & labor out of their own pocket. I have to commend Jim Selheim and his service team with the wonderful job they did on my car. They all made sure the car was fixed correctly and far exceeded my expectations. I would strongly recommend all minor & major services at Goudy Honda. I will continue to have all my Hondas serviced at Goudy Honda. I have been a customer with them for more than 25 years. My 2015 CRV had a leak on one of the front wheels in September 2021. I took it to Goudy where we bought the car. Agent Mike helped us with the replacement but offered no advice on reporting this case to American Honda. 12 weeks later, in December 2021, the other side of front wheels leaked too. When the car was parked for 4 hours or longer, one tire's air pressure went down to 25 pounds. We needed to put in air every morning. We tried to avoid freeway or long distance rides. This is our fourth Honda--the only one that has leaking wheels. We found it unusual; and contacted Goudy on CRV recalls or defects on wheels. This time, we are lucky to have agent Sader Gonzalez. He listened to our concerns and understood the problem. He advised us to contact American Honda immediately. The next day he called us to follow-up. It took about a week for American Honda to respond. Throughout the time, Mr. Sader was helping us on diagnosis and correspondence with American Honda. Finally, our problem was taken care by Honda's customer service. Agent Sader was big help to get this problem fixed for us. We appreciated his knowledge and service. We hope to have our business with Goudy via agent Sader in the future. read more

I recently visited Goudy Honda with the intention of purchasing a specific vehicle, but unfortunately, the experience left a terrible impression and completely changed my view of the dealership. From the moment I arrived, I felt ignored, dismissed, and not heard. What made things worse was how insistent the team was on trying to sell me a different vehicle than the one I had come in for--simply because they didn't have my preferred car in stock. Rather than listening to what I wanted or offering to help me explore options to get the vehicle I was looking for, the Manager, James continuously pushed alternatives I wasn't interested in. The blatant dismissiveness from the General Manager, Pete, was the final straw. Instead of offering support or solutions, his tone and attitude made it abundantly clear that my business wasn't valued. It's unfortunate that Goudy Honda lost my business, especially considering I was ready to move forward. Thankfully, I had a completely different experience at Galpin Honda, where I was treated with care, professionalism, and respect from start to finish. Today, I just took my Honda Civic to Goudy Honda for a clunking/clicking noise while turning repair. At first I took my vehicle to Nelson Honda. they quoted me $1,189.78 that I could not afford. The noise was there for a while, it bugged me and made me nervous every time when I make turns over 90 degrees, especially U-turns. So, I decided to have it fixed. I took it to Goudy Honda today, I told them what happened and asked them to see if they have any promotions going on because I am broke. woo, surprised, the service advisor told me that he could get it fixed for me under warranty. It's called something like One Time Goodwill. He told me that because my vehicle's mileage is not very high, 68,000 miles, just out of the warranty, and complaint is very common and it is usually cover by Honda Powertrain warranty which is 5 years or 60,000 miles whichever comes first. I just told my friend, and he told me that his Civic has the same problem too. He is going to take his civic to Goudy Honda tomorrow. The repair was free and great customer, I definetely will go back to Goudy Honda and recommand Goudy Honda to anyone. Thanks Goudy Honda. read more

I was shopping around to trade in my current car for an Accord Sport. I first went to Norm Reeves Honda in West Covina and had what I thought a decent deal with them there. Four days later, they called me back and said that they couldn't get me financed because I had too much negative equity from my trade in and I needed to return the car. I then decided to give it a shot at Goudy Honda to see if they would be of any help and turns out that they have been fantastic. Tina has been phenomenal during the whole process. She was very professional, respectful and knowledgeable. The appraisal on my trade in was significantly more than what Norm Reeves Honda gave me which helps in my negative equity. The price on the Accord Sport was also much lower than what Norm Reeves gave me. Tina was constantly keeping touch with me and getting me updates on the approval process. I felt that they were really doing their best and that their finance team was absolutely amazing. After 3 long days of negotiating with banks, they finally got me approved for the loan that I needed.
