Stayed here for the weekend with my family. The staff were super nice and help. Valet was easy. This hotel is very close to Pike's Place so we went in and out all day, which was super convenient. One aspect that made this hotel stay extraordinary was that they let us check in early because they had a room ready. We arrived in the city at 9am with our luggage and didn't want to leave in the car. Usually they allow for luggage storage, but in this case, they let us check in no problem. It was amazing because we did a lot of walking the first day and it was nice to be able to rest in our room before check in at 4pm. A mild downside is that, I think valet may have dented my car on the rear bumper on both driver's and passenger sides. I can't say for sure that they did, however, the dents were there before the trip and I noticed them after I left. I didn't drive much the rest of that weekend because we were central to all our activities so we didn't drive anywhere else. I think is something to be wary of if you're renting a car or drive a really nice car. read more

The folks at the reception were great at check in and gave me a free upgrade to a water view deluxe room. I love the convenient location - right by pike place market, that allowed me to bring takeout back to my room, whenever it got rainy or cold out. The views were nice too! I had a reservation booked a few weeks in advance. The rude receptionist's name is Halit Cakir. There's a review on Yelp where the Thompson receptionist made people wait till 3pm or later to check-in, even though the hotel is empty. He said my name completely wrong twice. Wrong phone number too. He tried to leave our valuables out in the open while we wait. Is it racism? Is it a power trip? The hotel is empty. We tried checking in at 1pm. Then 2pm. We happily left at 2:30pm. There are better higher rated hotels in Seattle, and we are very happy we did. Stay away from Thompson Seattle! I had an amazing experience staying here over the weekend. I booked using my Amex Platinum because they are part of the Hotel Collection. My fiancé and I had a lovely quick stay at the Thompson Seattle. It is very centrally located to tourist hotspots like Pike Place Market. We checked in pretty late and were warmly welcomed by someone at the front desk. We were offered a glass of bubbly which I loved. We got a room on the eighth floor with a lovely view of the water. The lobby itself was a bit small, but had lots of seating. The rooftop bar was closed when we were there, but seemed like a really lovely space. Our room was good for the one evening we stayed. The bed was big and pretty comfy. It was a very modern room. I'd recommend staying here. It was also pretty close to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car we were going to the next day. read more

Best hotel possible: fabulous location overlooking Pike Place, Elliott Bay of the Puget Sound, ferries, the Ferris Wheel, the park at Pike Place, and the snow-capped mountains beyond. Breathtaking! EVERYTHING went well! Valet is super efficient, reception representatives were super kind and helpful as we had some special needs while here, housekeeping was fine, and our "Water View Studio" corner view suite was a dream! (only complaint would be that the rooftop bar chairs on the floor above us are loud and heavy whenever adjusted or moved...) The Conversation Kitchen Restaurant chefs and bartender are considerate, warm and friendly, and their meals are delicious-- we just can't say enough about this hotel. We had a nice romantic staycation at Thompson Hotel and I will highly recommend it to everyone! Check in was smooth and the lovely women at the front desk let us check in around noon since our room was ready! She was amazing I wish I remembered her name. Very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Our room was just as expected with a beautiful water view of the Seattle waterfront! Highly recommend if you are staying here or in the area check out their rooftop bar called The Nest. Even on a rainy day we had a blast. The drinks were yummy, service was great, and the views were amazing! The location of this hotel is great too with being walking distance to pike place and all the cute neighbors around. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting the full Seattle experience! The only downside is I wish parking wasn't so expensive for hotel guests. Terrible service. Don't even book a room. Got to the hotel 30 minutes early before check in. the front desk said they couldn't check us in until 3:00 We sat and watched them check in other people. At 3:00 they said the room isn't ready. Sent us to the bar with all the luggage we had just Pulled out from the valet. Waited 40 minutes with no updates from them. Had to call to see what the deal was since we had events to attend and need the space to get ready. At 3:45 they said housekeeping just got to the room and asked if we wanted to wait. We left. I've been to Seattle several times and don't know if I've ever had a stay more impressive than at the Thompson. I was here to attend the PAX West gaming convention, while I brought my girlfriend for her first visit to the city. The ease of getting to the waterfront and Pike make this a great location for a stay in Seattle. The awesome Filipino breakfast spot Ludi's is also around the corner. Since I was in town for a convention, there were no suite upgrades available, but even if I wasn't a Globalist, this would be a place I'd plan on staying at again. Globalist Breakfast is very good here and the text-based customer service is very fast. Right when I entered the hotel, I was immediately greeted with a complementary champagne and cookies! That was a first. It's super chic and located literally two blocks away from the Pike Market! Great location, centrally located to a lot of tech offices, downtown, and the ocean. I was here for a week long work trip so I was so excited for not only being back in Seattle but staying at the Thompson. After I walked up to my ocean view upgraded hotel room, I saw that the manager given me a handwritten note welcoming me to the hotel and the city. That was a super sweet gesture and they also had laid out some dried fruit with bottled water. The room was perfect. It was so roomy, the bed was super comfy and the linen smelled so clean and crisp, and the furniture was perfect to see outside the ocean view and the ferris wheel. The bathroom had a cool waterfall shower and their special shampoo and conditioner was very niche. Highly recommend to check out their rooftop bar at Nest. It will not disappoint! I actually had been to Nest before with some friends a couple years before, so it felt like a full circle being able to stay in the hotel that the bar was at. Helpful tip, the bar allows you to bring their drink out if you're staying there! All in all, this brand of Hyatt was beyond my expectations from the superb customer service, amazing amenities, delicious breakfast in the restaurant below, and location. Must stay! read more

Amazing one night stay! We booked this hotel for one night before boarding a cruise. It's central to downtown and many attractions. The check in staff was amazing as they were able to get our room early. The decor was modern chic with masculine tones. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. We had drinks at the rooftop restaurant, The Nest, with amazing views of the seaport. We followed with dinner at the hotel restaurant on the first floor, we opted for the happy hour food selections which did not disappoint. Upon check out, the bell desk was able to hold our bags as we explored more of the city. The concierge made sure to schedule our transportation to the cruise terminal. Great stay. read more

Definitely recommend booking through Amex to get the excellent benefits (guaranteed 2pm late check out, room upgrade if possible, $100 credit to spend at hotel, and daily breakfast). Front desk staff were wonderful. Very welcoming and helpful. Our accommodation was excellent with nice view of 1st street. The room size was good. Bed was pretty comfy. Good lighting. Nice size TV with easy ability to stream Netflix/other platforms from your phone/tablet. The bathroom was great with the standard rain shower being a big highlight. Fitness center was nice. Small but well appointed. Excellent water machine with crisp clean and cold water. Ice cold towels in fridge for post workout. TRX bands, elastic bands, kettle bells, medicine balls, weight rack, peloton bikes, treadmills etc. The Nest upstairs is an amazing rooftop bar. Gets crowded but you get preferential reservations if staying at the hotel. Conversation restaurant is great downstairs. Nice location on 1st and Stewart. Good jumping off point to explore on foot or to grab an Uber to other neighborhoods further away. Definitely will be back!! read more

Nice location, room, rooftop bar, etc -- but am extremely frustrated with the hotel management/service. My flight was substantially delayed due to an Alaska Airlines global systems outage, so I called ahead to let them know I am still coming, but would be arriving very late (i.e., in the early AM instead of late PM). I even initiated a remote check-in on the mobile app so that I could go straight to my room upon arrival. However, instead of saving a room and/or checking me in online, they CANCELLED MY RESERVATION, which was definitely not the 4AM welcome I was expecting at after an excruciating 8hr flight delay. The front desk person reinstated my reservation but marked me as a "no show" instead of "late arrival" even though I had called ahead, arrived/checked in, and paid for the night. FYI, "no shows" are usually not considered qualifying nights towards Hyatt status, and it wouldn't usually matter to me very much at all, but I am currently doing a corporate status run with a high night minimum, so every night really counts. Upon checkout, the front desk assured me I would be given credit for 2 nights (since I physically stayed there both nights), but when I checked my account later, I was only given credit for 1 night. TL;DR I spent 2-3hrs on the phone with multiple CSRs between the main WOH line, the luxury hotels line, then an escalation officer (who contacted the hotel directly), but the hotel still refuses to acknowledge the situation and/or simply update the records to reflect a "late arrival" instead of "no show", so I am not getting the night credit. I realize this sounds like a total whiny first world problem, and in some ways, it is -- but it's super frustrating nonetheless, when people tell you one thing and do the opposite. Whatever though, I'm over it -- just had to get it off my chest and share so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. I don't even remember what I was talking about anymore. Went to the Thompson to go visit The Nest rooftop bar. Bar was full so we had to wait on the downstairs patio. There were a good 20 people out there. The hostess who was checking IDs said we could order a drink at the bar adjacent to the patio. The people working that small bar said "no, we're closing!" as we walked over. Amazing. This is the only place we stay in Seattle. We have established a community of friends. The staff is unbeatable. I mean, the facility itself is top-notch as well but the staff. Chuck is our favorite Concierge and takes the best care of us and knows what we like, and pays special attention to detail. He has connections all around the city. Gina in the front office is amazing as well as Albir. Emily and Antares are so sweet and always have the fresh baked cookies ready for us with a glass of champagne. Let's not forget the front door gentleman. These guys will do anything within reason. They look out for you and greet you with respect and care and take pride in their work when they are handling your car and luggage. This is really the only place to stay when you visit Seattle. Of course there are other beautiful hotels, but the Thompson has everything. Perfect location. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and were super happy with the hotel. The staff throughout were very friendly and helpful. Our room 1015 was spacious, clean, the bed very comfortable, great water pressure and whoah what a view looking down on Pikes Market and Elliott Bay!! But make sure you request a room with a view of the water because there are rooms facing the city. The mini bar also came in handy. The only annoyance was the shower curtain rod fell off twice. Great location convenient to lots of restaurants, shops and one block to Pikes Market. The restaurant in the lobby serves breakfast and dinner. There's a rooftop bar overlooking Elliott Bay called The Nest that is perfect for sunset cocktails. Spacious lobby laden with dark wood and lots of comfortable seatings. The hallways to the rooms are clean, bright and updated. If you rent a car, there's valet parking. Moore Coffee next door is a plus for those morning croissants and espressos. I had the unfortunate opportunity to come to Seattle for a work conference and ended up staying here. This area of town is crap and the hotel is the same. The boutique feel the website gives is not what you get in person. First off unsafe and fake alley next door. Many homeless individuals waiting by the curb which is unfortunate. They do zero housekeeping unless you ask and when they do it it's half ass. Don't take out the garbage, don't provide fresh towels, cups nothing Nada. The room gives dorm style vibe not luxury as marketed. Close to pike place but good luck walking through the streets here. Air conditioner went in and out and shower drain didn't drain. Internet didn't work and if you try to call front desk good luck. Phone rings and rings. My opinion, stay away. read more

This was my first cruise on Celebrity Edge out of Seattle. I stayed at the Thompson Seattle (Hyatt). I highly recommend a stay here. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were professional and friendly. Always greeted me by name and asked how I was doing. The restaurant staff was great. I ate there for breakfast and the oatmeal dish was the best I have ever had. Lots of fruits so fruit in every spoonful. I would definitely come back again one day. read more

Stayed here recently and the experience was just OK. The rooms are quite small and clearly remodeled years ago from its former old hold in the downtown area of Seattle. That means they did as best they could we reconfiguring old pipes and floorpans to make them acceptable to our modern times. As a result many things have been sacrificed. The room size is on the smaller size as compared to modern hotel rooms of today. The bathroom itself is small and compact placing modern fixtures on old pipes (eg takes a while for hot water while fully twisting the knob several times), the lifts run super slow and can only accommodate 6 people comfortably. The windows are super thin which means I was able to hear most activity throughout the night from the homeless population on the streets and alleys. The light switches, are old and out of place and there are few available outlets. I honestly wouldn't stay here again as a result as my standards are a bit higher. I am well traveled and have the highest tier status with Hyatt which did absolutely nothing for me except get me a free breakfast in their small cafe in the lobby which doesn't even open until 7A. They have a bar/cafe on the roof with a gorgeous view but the menu is super small. read more

For the last couple of days of our Seattle visit we decided to stay here so we were closer to the Public Market. This is a great location. As usual, I recommend comparing these Yelp reviews (3.5/185) with TripAdvisor (4.5/1617). I'm giving it a 4.5. It's a beautiful property staffed by really friendly employees. Our room was really nice and we loved the view! What a treat. Noticeable pluses: beautiful glass water and wine glasses, extremely comfortable bed with dreamy soft sheets, high-end bath products, nice lighting, and a complementary umbrella and coffee set in the room. The only things that knocked it down half a star was that the room is small and the TV wasn't great; the reception was spotty. Surprising for a high-end hotel to have TV issues. Another big plus is their rooftop restaurant, The Nest. Although it's hard to get a reservation, they leave open some slots for hotel guests. We also really enjoyed breakfast at their other restaurant, Conversation. Big portions, so bring your appetite. Also, exceptionally nice servers. All and all, we're very happy that we chose to stay here! read more

The place was clean and I loved the fact that they used stickers with the dates written on them to seal the doors to let you know that it has been cleaned. The hotel is super nice, which basically means "no weird stains or smells anywhere" Oddly, the lobby is nice and dark, as opposed to the restaurant Conversation, which had mood-killing spotlights above the tables that made me feel like Bunk and McNulty were interrogating me. (A man's gotta have a code). At night it plays club-lite music that makes it feel like you are in a bar. Next to your house. At age 6. Looking for your mom because it's 10pm and nobody made dinner. Don't call CPS- that was a long time ago. The staff was all agreeable, from the guy opening the door for us to the friendly check-in (who managed a nice late check-out time and gave us an extra water bottle at check-in) to the brightly-lit restaurant staff. There's lemon-infused water at the bottom of the three elevators, which require your card to operate (annoying, but secure). The room was a good size, with a huge clear window overlooking the Public Market sign of Pike Place. Oddly, I could only see the right half so I saw a red neon LIC KET all night (I wish my wife had seen it). So, the location is great. It's basically across the street from Pike Place (and a Nepalese take-out place open 'til 930pm), and it's a six-minute walk past a few shadies to Westlake Station. The bathroom was almost perfect. DS & Durga products for the bath. Too much toilet paper to steal. Big shower head the size of a medium pizza. The only thing I didn't like was the shower door (there wasn't one) and this is minor: the toilet seemed super high with a shallow pool of water on the bottom, so it felt like my poop was doing a high dive. Turn on your Spotify because it's going to be a loud noise when your poop does a Triple Lindy to win the championship. The bed was huge, the robe was comfortable (though there was only one), the chair leaned back for TV viewing, the TV had Chromecast to stream your existing streaming services. I should point out that this review reflects the hotel itself, but not the value, as I did not pay for it, and I never spend more than $200 a night on hotels. Minor complaints: blackout curtains allowed light on top, thin walls (or loud neighbors), noisy rattle of the AC/heat (that sounded like a vibraslap or every Cake song), the rooftop (even for just the view) is only open Wed-Sat, and the $9 water bottle that teased us all night. read more

The annoying sound coming from the wall installed AC/Heater system wasn't helping either. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, right? Eh no, not even close. Please don't waste your money or points on this place. This hotel seemingly sits on top of a generator. I was offered a quiet room, which I appreciated, but the din from whatever exhaust system or generator which must be directly outside my room is overwhelming. I asked to be switched to the other side or further away and was told that the generator would shut off at some point. You can also hear the flow of water rushing through the pipes, which is unbelievably loud. I'm not even sure how it's possible. I am not someone who is overly sensitive to sound. I'm from New York, right in the city. But this place is absolutely ridiculous and the reactions to my requests from staff has been a collective shrug. Never staying here again. Not trying to sound like a snob, but this is supposed to be a luxury hotel and the rooms don't come cheap. -- Cookie cutter corporate rooms (no real charm compared to other hotels in this price range. Cheap laminate wood floors etc. bathrooms are nice though). -- $55 for overnight parking for guests -- super small room service menu. Prepare to order delivery from somewhere else if you want something substantial -- 20 minutes to just get an extra plate and silverware to the room (maybe covid understaffing) -- if you're here for work and need to use the desk, it's awkwardly placed and the chair is super uncomfortable for long sitting sessions. I booked hoping for a comfortable space to work from all day. Nope. -- TV if you want to watch, has a poor connection or something and glitches/freezes constantly. I booked this hotel through priceline and paid approximately $210 for 1 night for a room with a king size bed with city view. Picked this specific hotel after reading all the good reviews & because of the convenient location and thought it would be perfect for my boyfriend & I's anniversary which I called to see if they can do some arrangement with the room. Possibly a card that says happy anniversary or even just sparkling water or flowers on the bed because I've seen hotels accomodate those before but was told no, which was odd since it's been done at other hotels before. I was initially going to rate this 2 stars but decided to give it 3 stars instead ONLY because of the valet guy working at the time we checked-in which was very accomodating & really made us feel welcomed. We came in on a day where there's a winter storm so we decided to just pay for Valet Parking which was $55 on top of the $210 I already paid for. Upon checking in, we got greeted and was told that I have to swipe my card for an accidental fee just incase something breaks or whatever the whole shebanggg is with and it will be refunded back to my card which was totally fine. I was not informed that I would be paying an extra $25 for "destination fee". I thought everything was already paid for when booked through priceline and was only expecting to pay another $55 for valet. According to them, it was because it wasn't part of priceline charge BUT I WISH I WAS INFORMED or told that maybe "hey! Looks like you booked through priceline, thought I'd let you know that you will see an extra charge on your card and it's about $25" The location is convenient, but expect to find no street parking especially on weekends. Staff that checks you in is okay. Could be better. The Valet guy (wish we got his name) was very kind, friendly and helpful. One last thing, they have a bottled water of "ESSENTIAL" brand, and it was marked as $9 to drink (small size). I know hotels always mark up prices but that's pretty ridiculous especially when we checked out and was asked if we wanted a bottled water which didn't make sense to us. The front desk was always helpful and friendly, and the valet staff was first class, from their attitude to restaurant recommendations, and they were always willing to help. The location of the hotel is ideal for walking, with shopping, tourist attractions, and dining all close by. Our hotel room was a little on the small side, but probably on par with a hip, downtown hotel room in any major city. The bathroom was well appointed and spacious with a large shower. My only complaint would be that the room was dark, even with all of the lights on. Also, the bed was very firm (boo!) and the pillows weren't plush or comfortable, but the linens were very soft. Also, there was no room service, which I kind of expect from a hotel of this caliber, but I also recognize that Covid has changed a lot of things. I will say that the best part of our stay came when we checked out early and found Pango at the front desk, looking dapper in his bow tie.
