We had a great one night stay here. The room that we stayed in was recently redone and it was very pretty and clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because this hotel does not have an elevator, which can get a little bit exhausting with luggage. There is a guy that can help you, but he is pretty busy and you have to wait a little bit so we ended up carrying up our luggage by ourselves. Everyone at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming and the coffee shop that is attached was really cute. I would definitely stay here again if I went to Seattle. I love the old school charm of the building and I am glad that they are redoing the wallpaper and such because there definitely is an old smell to the building which is unavoidable. I will say also that there is a smell of stale smoke in the common building carpet so if you are sensitive to scent, just keep that in mind. The room was really spacious and even had an extra area that could be an office. No complaints! The air conditioner, and the ceiling fan were bonuses. Some free coffee in the lobby would be a nice addition for your guests, but they did give water upon check-in which was needed! The lady at the front desk also switched our room so we could check in a few hours early, which was a huge relief since we wanted to explore Seattle before our show. The good: The location is fantastic. The bed was very comfy with fluffy pillows and soft mattress. Shower was hot. Nicely decorated. Very cool historic hotel. The bad: they changed my reservation for check in by one hour at the last minute, I was told I could check in at 3, but they changed it to 4. Upon arrival I was told there would be an extra $100 for incidentals. Ok. But then another $25 for boxed water, and some tiny, non appetizing cookies in the lobby, and the typical instant coffee left in rooms. But my biggest disappointment was that the front desk person said she "upgraded"my room, since I was a bit stressed at all the changes. I thought that was nice. But she gave me a bottom floor/ giant room with no windows. I was bummed to have a room with no view. I did not need an ADA room, and never stated such. The absence of a window left me feeling pretty isolated. It's a very nice hotel but for a single traveler just know their only queen rooms are ADA and have zero view of the city, as far as I can see because I rechecked the site. The room was much too large/ cold. I would probably give it another chance but I would defiantly call before booking to see what you are getting into. There have been a lot of recent renovations at the Marqueen and it is a true gem. The building is originally from 1918 and they have preserved many vintage touches with great updates. I loved the nightstands that look midcentury but had little hidden power outlets and USB ports. The rain shower was lovely. Super soft towels, great bedding, great mattress. The best part of our stay was the bellman, Andrew. All staff is super friendly but Andrew is a gem. He is the penultimate bellman and clearly cherished in the neighborhood. The Tin Lizzie bar is wonderful as well. Yes, it is an old building. There's no AC or elevator. Still it's a perfect escape. We love the Queen Anne neighborhood. It is a perfect place to stay for events at Seattle Center and Climate Pledge. Great restaurants and I love the used book store. Go let Andrew park your car away for the weekend, ordered a whiskey sour at Tin Lizzie, and have a great time. read more

The family and I were in town for an Alaskan cruise. We stayed overnight at the MarQueen Hotel and were very happy with our experience. Anthony and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were a little early for check-in, but they kindly held our bags so we could explore around. I enjoyed how walkable the area was. Within a few hours our room was ready and so were we. I love the overall vibe - a historical building that has such character and design. There is no elevator, but the staff are very willing to help carry any luggage up the stairs. Our room was lovely and had all of the accommodations we needed. My son found some games earlier, including a puzzle (he LOVES puzzles), which was a great way to wind down after a busy day of travel and exploring. Our room had an office space, which was the perfect nook for him to settle in with his puzzle. The hotel has a little "speakeasy" style cocktail lounge where there was a live musician on the guitar. It was a nice way to end our evening (after dinner) and spend some adult time together once the kids went to sleep. We stayed here August 24. We arrived around 10:00 AM and Andy the doorman took our luggage and put it in a holding room for guests who arrive before check-in time. Check-in was easy and the young receptionist was very friendly. Our room was very nice with wooden floors and a comfortable bed. The hotel provided a shuttle ride to the ship's dock for $10 a person which is a great price. It is far from downtown and isn't close to the light rail so you need a taxi or Uber to get around. There is a park that has the International Fountain which is about a 10 / 15 minute walk from the hotel. I highly recommend you go there on a Saturday night. It is very beautiful, tons of restaurants, entertainment, live music, lots of food trucks etc, etc, etc. Great place with awesome vibes. I'd definitely go back on my next visit for sure. read more

The stay held promise. Staff was friendly. Rooms are nice (albeit a little noisy). Unfortunately my car was damaged by the valet staff but they wouldn't take responsibility. I wouldn't state this if I wasn't 100% confident they caused the damage, as the car was in my possession at all other times and never parked where this type of damage would have occurred and it's consistent with scraping against a wall or pillar. Unfortunately I didn't see the damage when the car was brought out to me as it was dark (short days late November). The manager said their mandatory inspections would have caught it, but I certainly wasn't made aware of, or involved in any inspections and we used the valet multiple times. Accidents happen, but to not own up to it is another level of disappointment. It's a lesson for all to not be trusting, take pictures before and after and hopefully you'll get staff with integrity. read more

We really enjoyed our one night stay here while in town for the Pitbull concert. We didn't realize our room came with a small kitchen and a sleeper sofa so we were so excited to see that. Our room was a bit outdated and there was a tripping hazard of a step to get into the bathroom, but what can you expect from a 105 year old building? The lobby was very elegant and super friendly staff. Parking was $40 and valet only, which we weren't a fan of, but at least the car was in a safe place. We booked way ahead of the concert and chose the no cancelation price so it was super affordable. No need for an Uber to get to climate pledge arena, it was a super short walk! read more

This hotel sits on a nice block just a short walk away from the space needle and is surrounded by restaurants, bars, etc and is just about 1 block away from a grocery store which makes it a great spot if you want to be able to just skip out of your room and be close to a lot of conveniences and entertainment in this section of Seattle. Some street parking is available but not abundant, so I'd recommend the valet as it's super convenient to just give them the car and because you probably won't need it back unless you have some reason to drive across town during your stay. The hotel itself is relatively inexpensive but doesn't skimp on the details as far as giving you what you need in the room. A small kitchen area stocked with dishes/silverware etc are there in the event that you need them, and the room itself was quite large and had plenty of space. Exceptionally clean, professional yet warm service from the reception crew, and a lobby that is notable for its old school charm which you might love if you're into fancy restored old school hotel lobbies, (I loved it). Definitely not a cookie-cutter vibe, and there's a bar attached for your drinking pleasure. I booked this on a whim as I was passing through and given my experience with everything from the service to the room itself, I'd probably book it again given the location, the price and the fact that it exceeded my expectations and lacked nothing that I needed. We were awakened several times a night with a loud noise, that could have been air in the pipes, laundry chute, etc. Complaints did nothing to alleviate the noise until the third night. Since this is a historical building you and the hotel employees will have to drag your bags up three flights of stairs. The employees are amazing and the valet is super quick getting your car back. I was so impressed with the photos but ended up being disappointed in person. I booked thru "stash" and they have not responded to my complaints so decided it would be best to continue complaining. SO, the room with a king size bed was dark and dreary. It was a reasonable price so I decided to stay. It would have been an "okay" stay but I was charged an ABSURD amount for amenities which are FREE at ANY HOTEL!!! This pissed me off. I was charged $40 a night for amenties which include.... cookies at the front desk and the coffee you get in your room and a 15% discount at the coffee shop on the bottom floor. It's not like the amenities had a pool or a hot tub to use! You were paying $40 for coffee in your room and a discount at a restaurant and for cookies you may not want anyways! It was RIDICULOUS! Basically the hotel is "upcharging your room" and adding a charge to make more money. NONE of these were legitimate requests and laughable. Being "OverCharged" should never be okay. If you want to charge more for your rooms than do IT HONESTLY! But you decided to do this without integrity! Super disappointed. Now I UNDERSTAND why they pushed the cookies so much... So I would "feel better" about paying a ridiculous amount for cookies, coffee and water. Thankfully, 99% of hotels cover this without a $40 a day fee. Love you MarQueen but grow up!! read more

Just wanted to leave a quick review but I stayed here from March 11 - 14 and had a phenomenal stay. Staff was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area, very professional, and showed a level of hospitality I had never received at any other hotel I had visited before. Shout out to Andrew the door man. He was absolutely nice and charming and made that first day getting acclimated a breeze. Loved having the little kitchen in my room and having a coffee shop and lounge attached to the property was a nice amenity. Next time I come to Seattle I will probably stay here again. We are fairly frequent visitors to the Seattle area in fact we are looking to get a second home/condo there in the Denny triangle area. But we decided to stay in the Queenanne neighborhood. We have never stayed in this neighborhood before. Seattle has so many distinct neighborhoods and this is one of the cool ones. Where this Hotel is located is right in the middle of the lower Queenanne area if you're staying here and thinking you're going to go to the upper Queenanne area because there is even more great restaurants and activities it is literally like going straight up hill. Lower Queenanne is close to the space needle and pretty much everything in the heart of town. Not too much steep walking. The restaurant across the street, Toulouse Petit is literally off the hook and one of the best restaurants we found in Seattle this trip. It's kind a got a Creole/Cajun menu but Extensive. But back to the hotel. We prefer to ground-floor unit because there is no elevator so if you're on the third floor I hope you like hoofing it. That said, you're going to want to be down the hall from the front desk and away from the bar if you're there on the weekend. Overall we love the hotel. The staff is exceptional. Very helpful every single person we talk to and the coffee shop that is attached to it is really great and not your typical Seattle Starbucks. It's just a neighborhood espresso spot and we loved it. read more

Classic beautiful hotel with huge rooms and excellent services. The very sweet and attentive lady working behind the counter when I call and checK in our rooms on 2/14/2020 evening after 9 pm. She is very friendly and helpful. One of the best hotel check-in experience I have received compared to any hotels. This is a hotel I really enjoyed my visit. It may be not a cup of tea for everyone. But I am sure everyone will love the location of the hotel and the wonderful customer services from the check-in, check out and the room service. I think the lady at the evening check in her name is Amber (sorry I may be wrong). She has everything ready before we get there. She is very friendly and polite with smiles all the time. She also calls the room service to bring us an extra blanket because the cold weather, Seattle was snowing at the time. The room service is also very friendly and speedy service. The gentlemen from room service are there at the same time when we walk into our rooms. The lobby of the hotel is very beautiful. It looks very nice. I almost think I'm in a classic cruise ship. The guest rooms are bigger than most of the hotel rooms. It has a separate section for seating and a full-size kitchen with a microwave and full-size refrigerator. Both my room and my friend's room also has a breakfast area. However, breakfast is not included. But I think they have a very nice restaurant in the hotel which we did not try! The reason I have to take one star out is that because of the maintenance! I love the classic style of hotel decorations. But some areas in the room will need to touch up or replace. The bathtub in our room is rusted in a little area. The bathroom faucet is very hard to turn. I hope their management can pay more attention to these little items too! read more

Such a darling little hotel! The rooms are like little apartments too, fridge, freezer, microwave, sink and even a little table in the kitchen with some chairs. It's old so it creaks but that was part of the draw for us. They aim to keep it as similar as it was when it was first built and they do a good job! The front desk clerks were very nice and always said 'good afternoon' or 'welcome back' as we came and left. It's a great location to a bunch of restaurants and a CVS or Bartell's drugs are nearby if you need to grab something. Will definitely stay here again! read more

This hotel is old, and apparently an official historical site. Very beautiful, steeped in history, built in 1918, but also very creepy. Views down the hallway basically reminded me of the shining and I was waiting for Jack Nicholson to come charging at me with a kitchen knife and that gleam in his eyes... Anyways, that is not why I gave this place only two stars. This hotel is not kept up well. Upon first entering our room, the air was heavy, stale, and very musky. My boyfriend tried to open a window to let in some fresh air, but they are sealed shut. This hotel has been here for years and not one room has had an ounce of fresh air inside for that whole time. It was stagnant and very unpleasant even after turning down the AC. Spraying a bunch of Lysol into the room and air vent was the only thing that helped for a bit. At one point this hotel was an apartment building and so the rooms are very spacious with full kitchens, minus stoves. In the morning, I attempted to take a shower. After 25 minutes of waiting, the water would not get warm. Finally a maintenance man came to "fix" it and the water was then luke warm at best. After the maintenance guy left, the sink faucet was no longer working. Long story short they moved us to a larger room for free which was nice. Hot water was working fine in the shower, but the air quality was very much the same. Later, after getting back from dinner, we sat down in the lobby for a bit to let the Lysol we had just sprayed settle in our new room. We overheard a man come down to the front desk complaining that his shower wasn't working because one of the handles had broken off when he turned it on for water. He would also have to be moved to a new room in the morning and could not shower at all that evening since maintenance had already gone home for the night. If you typically enjoy room service at a hotel, they have it here, but only from 4pm-9pm which I thought was strange and very limited. I feel it is also important to note that there is no elevator in this three story building and the main entrance has stairs. This may be an issue for people with physical disabilities. I enjoy historical sites and the history of this building is very interesting. I will not however, be staying here again. read more

On June 30th, I mistakenly booked a reservation for that same night. I immediately called Booking.com to cancel the reservation, but they told me that I would need to contact the hotel directly. I spoke to someone at the front desk, who told me to contact Booking.com again. I did so, and Booking.com confirmed that the cancellation and refund would need to come from the hotel. I have sent over 10 emails to the hotel, but I have never received a response. I also tried disputing the charge with my credit card company, but the hotel denied the dispute. I have called the hotel several times, and each time I have been told to contact Booking.com. I am very disappointed with the way that the MarQueen Hotel has handled this situation. I have never stayed at their hotel, and I have never received any explanation from them about why they are refusing to cancel my reservation or issue a refund. I believe that this hotel is engaging in fraudulent practices, and I urge people to avoid staying there at all costs. I would like to request that the MarQueen Hotel cancel my reservation and issue a full refund. I would also like an explanation for why they have refused to do so up to this point. If I do not receive a response from the hotel within the next 7 days, I will be forced to take further action. read more

The first night I stayed at this hotel I was bitten repeatedly on my feet and ankles, about 6-8 times. I do not know what caused this, but I woke up to my alarm in discomfort. I did speak with the receptionist in the evening and she was somewhat sympathetic, and said she would talk to a manager. I have my suspicions bed bugs might have caused this, and I'm fairly sure my feet were in the bed and it was not a mosquito, but I have no evidence to prove this, I looked under the mattress. I stayed two more nights without getting more bites but suffered from paranoia about being bitten. My hotel guest room was very large but sparsely furnished. The hotel desperately needs to be renovated, it reminds of an old apartment I lived in, everything is shabby. The Mediterranean Inn a couple of blocks down the street is a lot nicer and I actually paid substantially less to stay there a month ago. Staying in Lower Queen Anne is a good location, as the Seattle Center is walking distance, and there are many independent cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby. It's hard with COVID-19 to say what to expect as a price for hotels these days, but I paid the most to stay at The Marqueen and it was the worst of all, the Staybridge Suites Fremont and Crowne Plaza Seattle are a lot nicer, I stayed at both in 2020, and at the time they were cheaper. I did not get bitten in bed at other hotels in Seattle. I'm now worried my suitcase may bring bed bugs back home. read more

The staff at the MarQueen are very nice. The location is also perfect with great eats in the area and the hotel is within walking distance to Seattle center. The check-in and out process was very organized and we got into our room quickly. Well... Kinda. There's no elevator so I had to carry our bags up the stairs. There's a lot of info about the building to check out up the stairs and through the hallways. Once in the room, we immediately saw the wonderful view of the space Needle. It was fun watching it from our bed. But when we get to the bed, it's in serious need of repair. Most of the room was in this condition. The bed was really old and squeeked whenever you moved. My back was not feeling great in the mornings. The rest of the unit needs to be cleaned up a bit too. There's no effort really into hiding wires and things that are being "modernized" are done as cheap as possible. With a little more effort, this place could easily be a great place to stay. Until they make these upgrades, we probably won't come back again. read more

Stayed here for two nights with my friend. The location was great and so close to Seattle Center. That's essentially all the positive things I have to say. I understand the hotel is 100+ years old and historic, but the look of the rooms can and should be renovated. It was out-dated, not historic. I was disappointed at the uncomfortable beds, filthy tub, and couches that looked so questionable we refused to sit on them for our stay. The bed sheets literally were stained various shades of yellow. They "seemed" clean, but no need for the sheets to also be decades old. ****WiFi was TERRIBLE**** Oh and the breakfast was pretty shameful too. There were plates and debri left everywhere, no water offered, and orange juice and milk left out for hours that ended up room temperature. Just gross. Room aside, the service as also not pleasant. There was either tension and rudeness directed at myself and my friend or directed at the bellhop. Its not professional to be privvy to the front desk having a conversation with the bellhop about some issue with drying cleaning services for another guess and so and so not returning their call, etc. I would not stay there again, definitely not for the price. Stay at a chain, you're better off having consistency, cleanliness, and updated amenities. read more

Continental breakfast is good, coffee is fresh and tasty. Wifi is not always working, it seems its a problem, it was a leakage in the bathtub but i was told if it does not bother me just to ignore but it was a waste of water. My friend and I stayed at the Marqueen Hotel for 3 nights while visiting Seattle. I had no problems booking through Priceline.com. Weeks before staying here we gave them a call confirming our hotel stay and regarding early check-in policy, but I forgot the person's name I spoke with, but he was very friendly and answered all my nosy questions :) We arrived early Friday morning after flying into Seattle and decided to stop by the hotel to drop off our luggage/bags at 10am and go exploring around the area - on the phone they informed us they can hold onto our luggage (free of charge) and come back at 3pm to check-in. But lucky us! :) We arrived at 10am and they already had our room available! Check-in was super easy, but just FYI they need a credit card to hold $150 in case you damage anything, but it will be 'refunded' once you check-out and didnt damage anything of course. Also, we had the choice of getting a room on the 1st or 3rd floor, and we chose 1st floor. There's also no elevator, but they have staff who will help you with luggage, if needed. Orginally, I believed we booked a standard king suite or something like that, but we were surprised to be given a room with 2 comfy queen beds! We were fine with sharing a king bed, but 2 queen beds was perfect too! The room was huge! It reminded me of a little studio: bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette (w/ sink, fridge, stove, microwave, dishware and silverware, and a little sitting area), and a little 'living room' and small closet, and there's a big flat screen TV mounted to the wall. I know the building is quite old, but they can seriously clean the floors a bit more (I recommend bringing a pair of flip flops or slippers to walk on the floor) and the bathroom is kind of eh. Also, wish they had more outlets available near the beds, we had to unplug the clock and lamps to use the outlets. Overall, the room is nice and has that "historic/antique/vintage " theme, and we enjoyed our 3 nights. They also provided complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. And free little pieces of chocolate :) Oh, and free newspaper is delivered to your door every morning, expect Sunday! And can't forget about the complimentary breakfast served every morning from 8am-11am. It's nothing amazing, but it tasted delicious and the food presentation is cute. They served bagel with butter and a little bowl of yogurt with granola and fruits, and your choice of coffee or apple juice! Very simple breakfast, but it was super yummy :) Hmmm the wifi. The wifi is very weak here! I'm not sure if it's just the location of our room, but during our entire stay the wifi literally sucked inside our room. However, the secret spots with good wifi is located in the Tin Lizzie Lounge when you grab breakfast in the morning and the "lobby" of the 3rd floor has awesome wifi! As for check-out, it's at 12pm. Check-out was super easy. We checked out early and left our luggage with 'baggage claim' or whatever it's called at the hotel (again, free of charge!) and did some last minute touristy stuff and came back at 3pm to pick up our luggages :) Also, I loved how this hotel was literally near EVERYTHING. It's walking distance to the Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum, MoPop, Metropolitan Market (to pick up any snacks/necessities), and there's a lot of restaurants across the street too! :) read more

What I like most about this hotel is its location. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance or a short bus ride. For example, the Seattle Center is just down the block and over there you can visit the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass (must see!), the EMP Museum, the Pacific Science Center, and the Key Arena. Getting to downtown is equally convenient. Just hop on the "D" line bus and for $2.50 - $2.75 (peak hour rate increase) and in 10 minutes you can be at Pike's Place Market. Some other notable attractions around there (all within walking distance) are the Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Great Wheel, Seattle Public Library, and Olympic Sculpture part. Getting back to the hotel location, there is a plethora of convenient shops and restaurants. Most of the bars over there are open till 1:00 or 2:00 AM and some decent late night eating options whereas everything in downtown seems to shutdown by 6:00 PM. Also, I personally loved have three late night / 24-hour full-sized grocery stores just a few minutes walk away. There's also a CVS for your pharmaceutical needs. As for the hotel itself, the staff is super friendly and the service top notch. The rooms themselves are a mixed bag. The rooms are converted apartments so they're quite spacious. There's even enough room for a large (semi-walk-in) closet and small kitchen (no stove). However, it's definitely an older, shabby-chic look. I personally noticed my WiFi connection there was very weak (couldn't even stream Netflix) and I could hear my neighbors through the walls if they were being loud. All in all, I would consider staying here again though I would also be tempted to look for newer hotels with better internet connectivity and wall insulation. read more

Blue skies when we arrived, blue skies the day we left. Everything in between was cold, dark and rainy. Such is life in Seattle this time of year (January). But the MarQueen was always warm and comfy and offered a great location for getting around this town. No elevators but we're young and strong and considered the hike up to the 3rd floor a cheap gym alternative. The "antique" feel about the place put us in the right mood and we always had fresh linen, a great bed and a nice view. A light morning breakfast set us up for our days exploring this gorgeous green state. Fuck the $25/day parking though. We found a suitable alternative (ask no questions, I'll tell no lies). P.S., hint: LA and NY aren't the only cities with a rush-hour. Be prepared. P.P.S. apologies to our neighbors...our headboard wasn't securely attached (still, it was a great bed). I really wish I was in Seattle longer... There was just too much to do in such a short time frame. One of the places that made the stay at Seattle so damn pleasant was this hotel... My friends and I were lucky enough to stay in such a regal (at least from the inside) looking hotel. You can just tell that this hotel had some great history too. I would like to thank Priceline for getting us this great hotel for a damn low price too! So we did this crazy road trip from Sacramento to Vancouver last weekend and Seattle was our first stop. We called in early to ask for a late check in and if possible to get a double queen. We get there and boom... got our room no problem. Oh, and their room key is pretty damn cool... never seen this kind before. It looks like this small plastic key for a mailbox, but even shorter, with tip of it looking like a electronic circuit board... I dunno... but I digress. So, we check in pretty quick and find out it's on the top floor (only three floors).... coo... so where's the elevator? Oh there isn't one.... DAMN! Oh well.... only three flights. We get to our room and was amazed on how nice and spacious it was. The beds, chairs and other furniture in the room all had that aged look from the 20's with a modern touch of decor. So some of the other stuff I liked in the room was the view of the Space Needle from the room, a den area to kick it, a little kitchen with a fridge/freezer, microwave, and eating area. Oh, and there was free internet! The tv was a 27"... maybe 32" tube tv.... no biggie. I guess we also got hella lucky with parking too because we were able find street parking right in FRONT of the hotel! Hell yea!!! I also noticed there was some bar/restaurant called Peso's across the street and it looked like a poppin' spot! Should've checked it out but we were all drained from driving and being in the car for so damn long. Overall, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. A 10 minute walk to the Space Needle, offered breakfast downstairs (cereal bars, croissants, and fruits) in the morning, really nice rooms with hella amenities, and on top of that great service. read more

Actually 4.5 stars. I had a great 3-day, 2-night stay at this hotel. Price: It was listed as $80/night, but with a coupon I got it for $70/night. Score! Location: Easily accessible by bus. Surroundings are a bit shady, but well lit with many eating options and a 24 hr supermarket that is 30 seconds away. It is close to the touristy attractions like Chihuly Glass and Garden Museum, Space Needle, Bill Gates Foundation, etc. To all the other attraction locations, it is about a 10 minute bus ride from downtown and 20 minute bus ride to the international district. Hotel service: the bellhop/valet guys was very nice. The desk clerk was helpful. The cleaning ladies were very patient (I locked myself out twice). Room: WOW. It is like a mini apartment. It has everything (mini kitchen with stove, microwave and fridge!) you could possibly need if you were to stay for a longer period of time. There are utensils, knives, plates, and cups if you're planning to make dinner. Overall, well decorated, but has a musty smell. I should have asked the front desk for some air fresheners or something. Can't open the windows btw. The only real complaint I have is that the tub looks old and worn down. However, its the perfect size for sinking into a long nice hot bath (which I did several times). Wifi: Very spotty in my room (320). Better in the lobby and in the dining area. Other: There's a computer and printer in the lobby behind the ATM machine. Very useful for printing things. However, it is disturbingly slow. Oh! Best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast for each night you stay. You just go to the restaurant bar between 8am-11am with your white envelope and sit down to a breakfast consisting of tea or coffee, and a plate consisting of a small fruit cup, a plain bagel, and yogurt with granola. Cream cheese is an extra $0.60 I think. Which reminds me, they provide toothpaste and toothbrushes at the extra cost of $1.10. Another thing: you get free newspapers each morning! Overall impression: I would totally recommend this place to people who want a moderately priced hotel that is close to attractions. If you don't mind traveling the bus system (which is FANTASTIC; $2.25 and ask for transfer slips to get free transfers good for up to 3hrs), then it is an awesome option. Skip this hotel! The pictures on the website are deceiving for sure! We stayed here for New Years Eve. While we thought the history of this old hotel would make for a quaint stay, it was instead a huge disappointment. This is not at all what we would have expected for a $360 room. The bathroom was the biggest issue. We booked 2 rooms, and both had similar problems. We also had friends that had a room and said their room was just as bad. Some of the tile in our shower was broken, which would have allowed for water to clearly bring getting into the walls with each use. One of the shower knobs came off and we spent more time trying to get the water temperature right since the knob wasn't working than actually showering. There was mold growing on the upper part of the shower wall and clearly a water leak from the bathroom above us. The "kitchen " area is clearly all original with multiple layers of paint. The furnace ran ALL night. It was loud and overly hot in the room, even though we had turned the temperature down to as low 60, it would NOT shut off. The lobby/ stair area is cute and made for a great photo location. But anything positive about this hotel stops at the stairs! Despite all of the problems, they were only willing to compensate us 15% off the room still $300. If there was an option to have gone to another hotel, we would have left as soon as we saw the rooms. But finding an option on New Years Eve isn't possible. The building has the potential to be very cute. But it is currently in need of some major renovation simply to make it up to what I would consider a safe and healthy condition. read more

Honestly I was creeped out because of the neighborhood. But the desk clerk was very nice. There's no elevator, so the bellman carried our bags upstairs. He told us the history of the hotel &walked us through our room. The room is not upgraded. It looks creepy, especially when we checked in about 10pm. But morning came & we noticed the cute charm of the place. The staff was extremely nice. Even though we hung our towels to keep, they put fresh towels in everyday. They put chocolate on the beds & had the newspaper at our door every morning. It's walking distance to the Space Needle, Pikes Market Place and the monorail. The beds were comfortable & the pillows were fluffy. It was quite, no noise whatsoever. I gave a 4 star, because the hardwood floors were dirty. It was a little sticky and I kept my socks on. read more

Got the room on Priceline Express Deals. Rated as a 3.5 star on the site. I'm caught between my feelings on this, but I was pleased with the overall stay. Staff was nice at checkin and very helpful. Hotel is located in the heart of Queen Anne neighborhood with plenty businesses within walking distance. Room was very spacious and well appointed. Nice decor. Not really a fan of hardwood floors in my hotel room, but I guess I have to deal with it. Room had 2 queen beds as well as a full kitchen, with a seating area with a loveseat. We accommodated 3 people comfortably. Flat screen tv mounted on the well brought us to modern times. Bathroom was nice and well lit with very nice lotions and soaps. I'm used to staying at the major brands, and this is more of a boutique hotel, but I can't really be mad. Overall everything was nice and if I was staying for 3 or more days the kitchen would've been a great feature. Room was also very clean and beds are very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, especially for the price. If you are used to staying at Marriott's, Westin's, and Hilton's that carry a 3.5 star rating, you might be taken aback, but overall you would be pleased. Hallway decor and lobby are nicely decorated. I'm not an antique guy, but I think they feature some Antiques on the walls and such. read more
