I had a wonderful stay at the Arctic Club Hotel. My room was comfortable, quiet, and exceedingly clean. The decor is very traditional, but the room had all the modern necessities. The lobby and bar area are also a throwback to an era of 120 years ago, full of photographs of Arctic Club members (all men) who were the backbone of Seattle when it was a center of fishing, mining, lumbering, and finance for the Pacific Northwest. If this offends your modern sensibilities, be warned... Be sure to say hello to the life size polar bear sculpture in the corner and notice the walrus heads in the outdoor frieze on the building. I'd definitely stay here again, should I come back to Seattle in the future. read more

Came here for the Candlelight concert which was incredible. Highly recommend! The hotel itself is rich with history that you can see and feel. Everything has this old, elegant vibe. The room and bathroom were both very large and comfortable. We never felt cramped anywhere in the hotel. The Polar Bar was fantastic. GREAT drinks and food! All food and drinks have a 20% gratuity added to them. Valet is $75 a night. And it looks like they just park it in the lot right next door. So you might as well just park it yourself. My only complaint was that it got uncomfortably hot in the middle of the night, and when we tried to open a window to let cool air in, the garbage truck's woke us up from 2-3:30AM. Not the hotels fault, but if we stay here again I would definitely ask about getting a portable fan sent to the room. We had a really great time here and would definitely come back for another candlelight show. read more

What a remarkable place to stay! The staff were some of the nicest people I've met, so the service was spectacular. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you've stepped into a Film Noir, with the Art Deco design and little hidden pieces from the past, such as old top hats, in addition to all the photographs. The room itself was nice and clean, with a very comfortable bed, a stocked minibar, and French-press coffee. What blew me away was the food and cocktails. The Arctic Club is a gorgeous slice of Seattle history wrapped in Beaux-Arts elegance (and a few walrus heads for flair). Our fifth-floor room faced Cherry Street--the same side where Congressman Marion Zioncheck met his untimely end in 1936. Thankfully, our stay was all comfort and zero ghosts. The room was spotless, cozy, and came with a minibar we admirably ignored. The highlight of our visit was the Candlelight Quartet's Halloween Classics concert in the Dome Room. The ambiance was incredible--haunting in the best way--and you can even order drinks and snacks during the show. Bonus points for that. Fun fact: scenes from Stephen King's Rose Red were filmed here! Afterward, we grabbed dinner in the bar and lounge. My crispy Brussels sprouts with shishito peppers were amazing, while my husband's Caesar salad played it safe. I enjoyed a glass of Noughty non-alcoholic sparkling wine, which paired perfectly with the historic vibes. All in all, a fantastic experience that blends history, charm, and just enough spookiness to make it memorable. Can't wait to come back! read more

The Arctic Club Hotel has such a cool, classic vibe--the décor is beautiful and gives that historic, timeless feel. The bed was super comfortable, probably one of the best I've slept in at a hotel. We did arrive late and unfortunately there was no doorman on duty, which made things a little tough getting in with a lot of luggage. The bar staff started off a bit rude, but to their credit, they warmed up and the service improved by the end. Spacious room, comfortable bed, and a great shower. $75 for parking seemed a bit steep, but the quality of the complimentary breakfast more than made up for it. Our toilet didn't work as well and no maintenance staff were onsite, but honestly, the other areas were so special it was not a deal breaker. Really wonderful stay at a charming and fun hotel. Never figured out the walrus connection, but enjoyed all the arctic animal references! Had fish and chips and a fabulous cocktail at the bar - the selection of cocktails was extensive and creative! Excellent bar program! Maybe a little pricey (fish and chips was $30), but that's probably pretty on par for Seattle. Fish and chips was delicious with what I think was a house-made tartar sauce and some AMAZING apple slaw! Fries were made with duck fat I think, and very tasty! Bed was comfortable, room was a nice size and there were plenty of in-room amenities (though not a fridge). Breakfast was FREE (made up for the $30 fish and chips!) and was once of the best free breakfasts I've had, with well-seasoned food and an incredible selection of fresh fruit! Vintage Hotel in Seattle! We normally stay at the Marriott that is close to the stadiums when we come to Seattle for events but they were booked! I found the Arctic not too far away and it looked great so we took a chance and booked a night. Location: From the King Street Train station you can take the 1 line subway 1 stop to Pioneer Square and you're at the door of the hotel so that is amazing. Check in: normally we've been able to take the train up and get into a room early afternoon even with a 4pm check in, Arctic did not have rooms ready when we arrived at noon. No big deal, check in wasn't till 4 anyway. The lobby is large and lots of little seating areas, it's dark but the moodiness fits the era of the building! They kept our bags and we went to find lunch and came back around 2:30 and checked again, they moved us to a different room that was ready to get us in sooner so that was awesome! Some hotels have that texting notice to let you know the room was ready. That would have been nice but definitely not a deal breaker! The room: So well done for a vintage hotel! Building said remodel in 2008?, built in 1914 (1916?) and I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the room was. Comfortable beds. Down pillows. Super cute bathroom. The cabinet with fridge and coffee is awesome although it rattles some. Sitting area with chairs and a desk. Big windows with full room darkening curtains. One thing - bathroom door has a glass window in it. It's textured so not completely see through but for teenage girls They were a little weirded out by that. "don't look mom!" Breakfast: Wow. Typical hotel free breakfast is pretty meh. This one is included at no additional cost and excellent. Check my videos! The eggs and sausage were great. Worlds above other free hotel breakfast. Fantastic experience! It's rare to find a hotel that has historic charm and modern amenities. The architectural touches and historic preservation are charming. Really enjoyed this place located in the Artic Hotel. The Polar bar is a classy, old school bar that offers comfortable seating in a fantastic atmosphere. The drinks were well crated and the service was great. My favorite was the Top Hat Sampler as I enjoy a variety of small drinks. However, the Mountain is Out was fantastic. The parmesan truffle fries were a great accompaniment while having some drinks. Overall, it's a great space for drinks and the menu looked great for food. Customer service is 8/5 stars. Everyone goes above and beyond to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. There are personalized touches, evidence of respect, and genuine human interaction at every turn. The security guards have been friendly and helpful. The concierge man Jon went out of his way to be inviting, inclusive, and personalize information sharing. But the most outstanding were the bar staff on Saturday night. Made the reservation with one credit card online but couldn't charge that card when I checked in. Because I contested I'm pretty sure they gave me a lousy room right above the dumpsters, it was very noisy. The room wasn't completely clean. Greasy smudges on the windows. The water never got hot in the bathroom, either the sink or the shower. The body soap was empty in the shower. There was leftover dirty plates on the table for breakfast downstairs even though I had come in right when it opened. I didn't die though, so there's that. read more

I'm reviewing the hotel as a venue for the Candlelight Concert held there and the bar in the lobby. We didn't stay in the hotel or have food. Although the location can feel a little unsafe after dark, once you're on property, it felt fine. The entryway is very welcoming and was decorated for the holidays. We got there early so had a drink in the lobby. It was bustling as the concert was sold out. The bartenders were busy but friendly and got drinks quickly. The space for the concert on the second floor was gorgeous. Such a cool room and amplified by the candles and low lighting. I'd definitely come back for another event here. read more

I would like to give the hotel 4.5 but no such ranking is available. The only reason why the stay was not perfect is basically the area where the hotel is located. Sadly, Seattle has a really bad homeless population and the Arctic is across the street where they camp and do drugs. The view is great from the hotel...unless you look down to street level. OK, the hotel itself is awesome and the staff excellent. We arrived WAYYY early from a cruise ship and planned a couple of extra days in town to site see and catch a Mariner's game. We were going to walk everywhere as its close to Pioneer Square, Pikes Market and both Lumen and T-Mobile park. However, after seeing the sketchiness of the area, we took a lot of ride share services, especially at night. It was too early to get in to our room (10A), so we left our luggage with the hotel, walked around a little outside, grabbed lunch, and later played pool near the Polar Bar until the room was ready (it was ready a little early too). Later we found out that pool table was over 100 years old! We had booked a classic King, but I'm positive that they upgraded us for free. They put us in a large, corner room King that had a whirlpool tub and was definitely at least 100 square feet larger than the classic room. Amazing room! Again the view was great...until you looked down. Not the hotel's fault though. We ate their continental breakfast buffet both mornings there and it was good. They were running out of certain items during the first day, but we came down at the same time with I think every other person who was staying there. The 2nd day we were way earlier and it was stocked well. We ate dinner once at the bar, food was fresh and good. The bartender and one server were working very hard to get orders out and somehow managed between the two of them. Other than normal city scape sounds (sirens, traffic, etc) the room was quiet and easy to sleep in. The doorman was attentive when we came and went - frankly I'm glad they have him there. He added a safety component for the block. The front desk was also nice and didn't mind any silly questions we had. Check out was smooth and honestly, we wouldn't mind staying here again. There is no vent in the bathroom in the hotel rooms. It is very inconvenient when showering and there is no vent to air out the condensation. During midnight hours the vents make very loud noises. The service is great. The hotel itself has very rich history and interesting architecture. But the building seems very old. Even the door handles seem like they are from the 1900s. The door handles for the bathroom do not work. It almost seems like it is there for decoration. The lobby area is very nice. The drinks are very fun and stronggg. I would recommend staying at the arctic club hotel for the bar, other than that there are better hotels to stay at. read more

Location steps away from work, attractions, and history Was able to stay at the Arctic Club for work. It was literally a block away from my meetings and when done, adored the history and charm of the hotel. From the Edward S. Curtis photos (a quiet American treasure), to the hats and collars, to the style and bar, there's a lot to like about this hotel. Blocks away are Pike Place Market, access to the boat tours, and a visit to the amazing Seattle Central Library, and Smith Tower. Farther north and a little west are the Amazon Spheres, the Convention Center, shopping, and the like. The only real knock we had was that the room service never came and food options at night were a bit far. read more

This place has always been one of my favorite hotels in Seattle; I guess I am a fan of the older classic places. I have stayed here before many times. Then it was bought by Hilton a number of years ago, then closed during COVID. They even took the door handles off to avoid any riff-raff from happening on the grounds. I was bummed that the place closed and sad to see Hilton off-load it, but recently, it opened again under a small group called the Oxford Collection. They own five other hotels on the West Coast, so I did not know what to expect. Well, we stayed there for New Years and they did an awesome job. Check-in is now down electronically from home, if you wish, to make the process faster when you arrive. Their staff was awesome, the Polar Bar is a must visit and the rooms did not miss a beat. Clean, fresh, well-stocked and comfortable beds. To top it off, they gave me drink coupons when we were heading to Space Needle, which I did not use. I asked during check-out if I could use them again and they said no. Later that night, while at home, the phone rang and they said they applied our drink coupons for the mimosas we had during breakfast. Who does that anymore!! Awesome place and worth checking out. Just make sure you make reservations early this place books fast. Great job guys! read more

Nostalgic hotel but the location in downtown Seattle is bad. The area is surrounded by homeless people. James and 3rd Ave corner and up on Cherry st is like their home bases. Our room is in the 2nd floor and street noise is a bother. It just happened that there was a late night shooting nearby and sirens were blaring all night. read more

I really enjoyed the original woodwork and dining room The included breakfast was also fantastic with the usual hot breakfast treats but also lots of amazing cut up fruits. As much as I enjoy the old world charm I really need a modern gym and this one was terrific. Also terrific was the historic lobby and the delicious old fashioned. Finally I appreciated the entire front desk staff but especially Sharon with her "can do" attitude! Whenever I'm in Seattle I'd love to stay in The Arctic Club. read more

The only negative is the city itself. My morning walk was about dodging the street zombies & poo on the sidewalk. Felt like I was in the game.. "Last of us". Not Arctics fault. Mike at the bar was the highlight for us! Such a pleasure to talk with, he had wonderful recommendations and stories. My husband and I truly enjoyed sitting down and talking with him. Our room was decent, the bathroom was massive and had great water pressure. Customer service was great if you had certain people, some were lack luster personalities. The breakfast in the morning had numerous options and we enjoyed popping down each morning, really impressed. The only downside was the homeless situation. There is a homeless shelter of some sort right across the street with police presence but it was very sketchy during daylight and even worse when it got dark... zombie-land... sad. (But no fault on the hotel for this- they have security presence at night with doors locked and in order to use elevator/get in to hotel you need to scan your room key so there was some sense of safety in that) read more

I asked our waiter if he had a happy hour menu and he did. My date and I chose cocktails that were not on happy hour. This waiter felt it necessary to stop in his tracks, then around and exclaim, "that's not on happy hour" in a loud, rude voice. The rooms are gorgeous and historic with a photo in the bathroom of the beautiful woman who entertained at the club in heyday. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! Our travel agent had booked this hotel for us after we had finished a cruise for one night, when we arrived to the hotel the room wasn't ready which we did not mind waiting, we left our bags behind the desk, used bathroom before we headed downtown to pass a few hours, my husband used the bathroom to find hotel staff shaving and getting dressed in the bathroom. Very odd but we gave the benefit of the doubt. Returned back to hotel at 4pm to check into the room, the room we got was 620 as we got to hotel room the carpet was completely soaking as if something was spilled and the carpet was either cleaned or else it was from the previous guest, absolutely disgusting socks were completely soaking!! The sockets in the room beside the television was completely loose from socket and looked burnt i couldn't plug anything in i was too afraid incase I would get a shock!! I have never seen a room so bad and rang down straight away to the reception and was speaking with a young man who was very nice and told us to come back to reception as we did. My husband informed him after seeing the state of the room that we won't be staying and he was completely lovely and understandable we looked for a refund there and then and was told we would get one but we needed to go back through our travel agent as it wasn't booked directly through hotel which we thought fair enough! We booked a different hotel for the night and emailed our travel agent who contacted the hotel and was told we won't be getting a refund after we didn't even stay at hotel and they denied the state of the room..... we were that annoyed at rhe room we went straight downstairs to reception i should of took pictures off the floor and sockets as hotel has not denised the floor was wet and sockets are fine....absolutely appalling that a hotel can do business like this! I understand hotel policies of cancellations etc but the fact we were at the hotel at 8am to drop off bags, walked around all day till 4pm waiting for room it's not as if we decided to just go somewhere else for the fun...the room was shocking with a soaking carpet and turned us completely off staying even one night! Very bad hotel to deal with, absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Revisit the age of great explorers and bygone luxury during your stay at this beautiful boutique hotel close to Pike's Place market and other Seattle attractions. Large rooms with deep easy chairs, large TVs, refrigerator, "sleep like you are on cloud nine" beds, and the most awesome in-room French press coffee! The front desk and staff are wonderfully hospitable, and there are two separate elevators to whisk you to your room with no waiting. The amazing breakfast offers rich Caffe D'Artist coffee (so good!) homemade granola, blueberry scones, puff danishes, a truly amazing assortment of fresh cut, fruit, fluffy hot eggs, and over the course of our stay also had fresh sausage, bacon, homemade pancakes, thick French toast, as well as an assortment of breads, rolls, muffins and bagels for toasting. They also have amazing biscotti at the reception desk which pairs so well with the French press coffee in the room! The bathrooms are large with marble top sinks and deep bath tubs appointed with Lockwood of New York body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. All the staff greet you with smiles, and were gracious and helpful with every request. Besides the 1st floor Juno bar which hosts the buffet breakfast, there is a magnificent bar on the second floor, where you can enjoy a 3-5 PM happy hour (on Wednesday they have live music). We enjoyed the duck confit eggrolls - our four large egg rolls and drinks tied us over until the next day. There's a magnificent dome room on the third floor perfect for hosting events. We loved lounging in our provided Arctic hotel bathrobes and we will be back.! read more
