The Belltown Inn did the trick for a quick stop in Seattle before heading off on a cruise; however, I wouldn't want to stay for much longer. They boast that it's in such a walkable place, and the thing is, you can walk to so many things because of it's central location! That being said... the immediate neighborhood is one of the worst I've ever stayed in. Tons of drugs and unhoused folks. It was bearable during the day, but I would absolutely not recommend walking around at night. Before I say more about the room, I want to say that the staff was exceptional. Everyone at the front desk was so kind and helpful!! Now back to the room... It was an odd combination of icky furnishings with nice amenities. The sheets felt like the old sheets from the very back of someone's linen closet that haven't seen the light of day in 20 years. The room was small and uninviting, with a view of a back alley, directly into the apartments next door. There is one elevator that moves at a glacial pace, so I opted for the stairs as often as possible. In terms of amenities, there is a Nespresso Vertuo (the nicer one) in every room, LATHER bath products (which I love!), a rooftop, and free bikes/helmets to rent. They also offer a pick up service from the airport for about $70, and a van to the cruise terminals for $10/person. Additionally, you can show your keycard to "Biscuit Bitch" next door for 10% off your order, and I highly recommend taking advantage. All in all, it did the trick, but I'll explore other options next time I'm in Seattle. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! The area is full of drug sellers, drug users, and prostitutes. It was so unsafe that we were not able to leave the hotel after dark. We did not sleep for the full four nights we stayed. Even though we closed the windows, there was constant shouting, yelling, screaming, and sirens. We spoke with the front desk clerks and the manager, after asking the agency we booked through to be moved, sharing our concerns that the property had been listed as 1 minute from the waterfront (now changed on the site we booked through, after our conversation) and not downtown. We shared that we were not at all happy, mainly due to the noise at night and not being able to safely leave the hotel after dark, but the manager could not confirm that we would receive a refund if we left and booked somewhere else. We were therefore stuck at this property. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want no sleep, and not to be able to safely leave the hotel after dark. Find somewhere to stay in a better area. REBUTTAL: To say that we did not report this to your staff is a DOWNRIGHT LIE. We not only spoke to the personnel at the counter, but the manager himself called to discuss our issues. He told us that we could check out early, but he could not guarantee a refund for the days we would not be staying. read more

Perfect location, friendly staff, and a very nice room! Sadly I came down with a virus (turned out to be pneumonia!) while visiting Seattle and spent 2 days in the room, unable to go out. The bed was comfortable, the hostess who cleaned my room was so kind (Virginia), and everything so clean. I loved the Nespresso machine and now want to order one for home! Delicious! The facility is located in the best area- easy to walk everywhere. I walked all the way to Pikes Market and then walked to a baseball game at T-Mobile Park. read more

Our small travel group spent 2 nights at this hotel in mid-October and each of us was very pleased with the accommodations. We had 5 individual rooms on the 4th floor and commented that we slept well, climate control settings were manageable, and observed that the property appeared to be well maintained. We enjoyed exploring the rooftop lounge area, courtyard seating area, or regrouping in the lobby waiting area with seating on either couches or at a fairly long dining table. Hotel desk staff were wonderful and very welcoming and helpful. We were able to store our bags prior to check-in and again at checkout because our plane schedule resulted in our early arrival and train schedule allowed for an afternoon departure. Guests are able to rent bicycles and helmets at the front desk. Complimentary coffee is available mornings in the lobby and ice water dispenser 24/7. Hotel does not have restaurant or food service on site, but is located next door to a breakfast spot (local business, "Biscuit Bitch", see separate reviews) and we noticed some guests eating takeout orders at the lobby dining table. Hotel is VERY conveniently located to many restaurants and a park and dog park are located directly across the street. Public transit is also extremely accessible and affordable. Rooftop lounge area was spectacular with panoramic views of cityscape, skyward with overhead occasional plane traffic, the mountains in the distance through the foggy mist, and water only about 10 blocks away. The Belltown Inn is close to everything including the Amtrak Station. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train. Not too far from Downtown Seattle, Belltown is arguably the best of both worlds as it offers a fairly central location (right beside Pike Place Market) but it avoids all of the chain restaurants that are common in Downtown Seattle. The hotel is clean and quiet. There is a breakfast restaurant next door. The price was reasonable, the room was comfortable and everything worked. You could open the window a few inches for some fresh air. Overall grade B- or C+. read more

My mother and I came here the night before we took the Clipper to Victoria for Mother's Day Weekefn. This is a great more affordable hotel with comfortable beds and friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and they provided snacks and water. Close to plenty of restaurants and transit and despite being told this is a loud area, the rooms insulated sound well. This is an old remodeled hotel in a good location and an even better location if you are heading out on a cruise! The ports are downhill, but even better, a shuttle will pick up from the hotel lobby! We seemed to be the only guests NOT going on an Alaskan Cruise- so wanted to let those who are just visiting Seattle to know, this is still a great option. We were there on a very busy weekend for Seattle and hotel prices were steep- this was a reasonable option and we 2 couples who stayed here, were happy with our choice Check in was great- the service Is top notch - the team that works here is always pleasant, friendly and helpful Being on 3rd Ave is not a plus and while we understand the unhoused are in all cities- we found walking along a different street like 5th was a better option. Probably why this hotel is a bit more affordable though Our room was directly above the "Biscuit Bitch" with delicious wafting smells and long lines- so lots of people on the street in front during the day, but there was also a security guard all day too. For our Seattle trip we spent a week at the Belltown Inn and absolutely loved it. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff were plentiful and incredibly helpful at all times. Very convenient and walk-able to many Seattle destinations, and there are plenty of terrific bars/restaurants nearby. Bonus points for the 24-hour rooftop for enjoying coffee, an adult beverage, some reading, or just the view. I can't recommend this place enough....! read more

This little quaint inside was exactly what I was looking for. It is right on the corner and I can walk straight to my cruise ship. I didn't even plan it that way. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and attended. I had options for rooms and I chose quiet side with a view. My room was clean. The bed was so comfortable along with the pillows. The hotel is in the Belltown neighborhood of City of Seattle close to Pier 66. It is a 20 min walking distance to Pikes Market or The Space Needle. It is an affordable hotel. But you get what you pay for. The PROS: Dog friendly The bed is very comfortable Room is clean Staff here are friendly and courteous. Although the hotel has no control over the situation, but the area is riddled with drug use. The rooms are very small and claustrophobic. Some of the pros are there is a parking lot across the street from the hotel for an additional $35/day with in/out privilege. There is a dog park conveniently located across the street but with all the drug use activity, I'd never recommend taking your dog there. Unfortunately, with all the nice amenities, the drug activities overshadowed them by a mile. read more

We chose Belltown Inn based on location and parking fees (theirs were the most reasonable in the area). We had a 4 night stay the first week of June. We were immediately impressed with the customer service at this hotel when we checked in. The staff were all friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had about the hotel and the area. The rooms were clean, actually the whole place was really clean. Their little tag line "Walk to Everywhere" is so accurate. We were a 10-15 min walk from most of the things we wanted to see and do. 10 mins to the Space Needle and Chihuly Museum. 15 mins to Pike Place Market and the Seattle Aquarium. Bonus, there is a great breakfast spot right next door! They have great biscuits and biscuit sandwiches and it was a no brainer to eat there before heading out for the day. We've already decided we'll stay there again the next time we vacation in Seattle. read more

I was actually very surprised by the quality of this hotel. Do not judge it by the outside. Unfortunately, there are a high number of unhoused people hanging around this area in the streets nearby. They did not bother me, and I did not bother them, but it was just unsettling as a woman traveling solo. The inside of the hotel and the workers were very nice. The room itself wasn't too bad either. They upgraded my room and I had a nice view of the street. Unfortunately the outside noises were pretty loud at night so he was kind of hard to fall asleep but all in all I would definitely stay here again.. read more

The hotel is on 3rd Ave, which, I found out later by talking to locals, is the dicey part of town because that's where all the homeless are. So just know that going in. The hotel itself was fine. Nothing special, nothing terrible. The rooms were quite small with an old bathroom. It was fairly clean except for the sticky remote control. My room faced the street, so I was woken up several times by the sound of people arguing outside. Bring earplugs. Staff was very friendly. My room was $350 all in for one Saturday night, so a pretty terrible value. read more

We stayed three nights at the Belltown Inn. We had two rooms and this review is specific to the queen size bed ADA room. We arrived to find the the queen-size ADA compliant room was not really accessible for my mom who uses a mobility scooter and a walker. The bathroom was accessible. However, the room was small making it difficult to maneuver the scooter in the room. The main difficulty was in accessing the bed. One side of the bed was so close to the wall and mini-split that it was impossible for my mom to access that side of the bed at all with her walker. The other side was squished against a quarter wall. This tight squeeze did not allow for a bedside table on that side of the bed. My mom uses the bedside table to get out of bed. We were able to move a small table from the outside courtyard into her room for her use. We also needed a chair for her to use at the sink in the bathroom. The front desk was unable to get us one after many hours. However, there were many chairs around the table in the lobby. When I asked if we could use on for my mom's needs, we were told we would have to wait for the staff to talk to the manager in the morning to ask if this was ok. I took a chair immediately and told them to take it back if the manager said no. It seems the staff is not allowed to make reasonable accommodations for guest needs on their own. Overall, we found the location to be great, the staff was nice, but the lack of a truly compliant ADA room and difficulty of staff to address needs were the reason for the 3 star review. The king size ADA rooms were wonderful and would have worked perfectly but were not available during our stay. For people with needs, beware the queen-size ADA rooms. read more

I've stayed at this hotel in the past and in the past I have recommended it to other Deaf, blind, and disabled people who stayed there on my recommendation. I will never stay here again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. They are not friendly or respectful to Deafblind survivors of gun violence/mass shootings and refuse needed accommodations. Even with the 42% rise in shootings in this neighborhood in 2025, the staff of the Belltown Inn belligerently refused to accommodate a support animal who provides visual and auditory alerts to a nonspeaking Deafblind survivor of gun violence whose animal led them to safety when they could not hear or see a shooter. It is abhorrent that a hotel I've recommended to so many disabled people is so arrogant and discriminatory when someone requires a support animal due to multiple disabilities. I will never again suggest this business to anyone in the Deaf, blind, or disabled communities. Super great place. Rooms were clean and comfy, staff was wonderful, had some nice little free soaps and snacks. I remember appreciating the mini fridge, microwave, and sink in the rooms. Highly recommend avoiding staying here. The rooms are extremely loud. Haven't slept the few nights I've been here. At 2am-4:30am people in the courtyard were extremely loud. I called the front desk and the attendant said he could ask them to be quiet, but not to leave. I watched him walk out and didn't say a word. The neighborhood is horrible. Homeless, massive drug use, so unsafe I took Ubers to my client office half a mile from the hotel. I felt so unsafe at this hotel because the door has one lock. I had to put items in front of the door while in the room because of the drug activity and lack of security to get to room floors, I was afraid even in my room. The bed was horrible, felt like I was staying in a low rate hotel in downtown São Paulo. Pay extra for a safe, secure place. Avoid this area. Really disappointed with the staff also. read more

PROS - you are close (walking distance) to so many wonderful sites! The roof top is a lovely place to relax. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to get us checked in earlier than expected. If you are comfortable with public transportation, the bus line right outside the hotel was great to get us to other neighborhoods we wanted to explore (Fremont to see the troll, Queen Anne for shopping and food). CONS - yes, there is a large transient population right outsde the hotel. But every major city has this issue now. We never had any issues, but it did make me want to not linger outside too long. The breakfast place attached to the hotel - Biscuit Bitch - was always overcrowded, only a few outside tables, the staff was rather curt and the food did not look great. I highly recommend Macrina Bakery about 2 blocks away on 1st Avenue rather than Biscuit Bitch. read more

I wanted to give this small boutique hotel my business. It's definitely not the nicest hotels and I could've stayed at any other hotel, but once again I wantee to "Support" them. Love the Belltown Inn! Excellent location, clean and friendly service. Spent the weekend at the Belltown inn with my husband, for a show at the Paramount Theater. I love this hotel, it's super clean, the front desk attendants were incredibly friendly, and we were able to walk to the theater, walk to breakfast and walk to multiple late night dinner options after the show. we were able to park for free around the corner, while we made sure not to leave anything of value in our car... Our car was just fine overnight. my husband and I never felt unsafe outside, the front doors lock after 10 PM for security reasons, and we had no issues walking around the neighborhood to find dinner after 10pm. Our room was small, but well appointed, with king size bed, coffee maker, refrigerator, and a nice bathroom. The one thing I would draw attention to is the sheets, they aren't very soft. In fact, they're pretty rough... But the bed is comfortable and the pillows are some of the best I've ever had in a hotel, so the scratchy sheets were manageable. Pro Tip: Make sure you pop in to Biscuits Bitch for some delicious breakfast sandwiches! read more

Belltown Inn has everything you need so it's super convenient. It's pretty much walking distance from everything touristy in the city. If it's farther away, the hotel actually has free bike rentals if they're available (the earlier you go to check them out from the front desk, the better). The bikes do come with storage bags, helmets, and a lock. They just have to be returned before sundown. The rooms were clean and cozy. Nothing fancy. Pretty good amenities including a rooftop area to lounge, luggage storage if you arrive early or need to leave it somewhere prior to your departure from the city. We arrived early (11am) and our check in was at 4pm - they had a room available and let us check in at 11 which was awesome! The only downside of this hotel is that the outside area is pretty sketchy. Lots of homeless people and it smells like piss. This is obviously not on the hotel but it would affect my decision to stay here again or alone. I would not feel safe walking back to my hotel alone. read more

Great location for a reasonable price. It's a short walk to Pike Place as well as the Space Needle, so it's perfect for first-time visitors/tourists. The rooms have have key card access and when it's late at night, you do need to use your key card to get into the hotel. There's a water dispenser by the front desk but they put it away at night. No gym. They do have bikes for you to borrow, which the front desk told me was the closest thing to a workout I'd get. There's umbrellas you could borrow as well. The rooms themselves are cozy. Our door wouldn't fully close by itself, so make sure to check behind you each time. The walls are pretty thin but we were still able to get a good nights sleep. The elevators move pretty slowly so it may be faster to take the stairs if you're on the 2nd floor. They do hold your bags after you check out. read more

Hotel was great as well as the welcoming and friendly staff which I really appreciated after walking down 3rd Ave. I just want people who are not from the area to get transportation to the hotel. My mom and I walked to the hotel since it was 12 min from our restaurant, but we were followed multiple times with men running across the street towards us when they saw us. I picked this hotel for its location and it's a shame, but I would not walk everywhere, it is too dangerous. I think their motto should be changed unfortunately, as it gives the wrong impression. When I first arrived, immediately I noticed the many flies buzzing around right outside the front entry as I tried to enter the hotel, the dirty areas around the hotel streets, and the big transient population. The inside of the lobby is small and dark and dank. The building needs updating. The rooms are very small but clean. There is one small elevator with a long wait time depending on how many guests are trying to use it. The floor above me is loud, I could hear every creaking sound and footsteps. The shower water pressure is not the best either. The hotel is also on the main bus line and I noticed so many loud buses coming and going all night long. Thankfully I wasn't alone, as I would never feel comfortable walking in the immediate area alone. There's also not a small store either in the lobby or around the area to buy bottled water or other items. The only thing I like about this hotel was the rooftop sitting area at night. However during the morning it was not great as there are no umbrellas to provide shade or shelter from the rain. This hotel cost almost $600 for two nights and was disappointing. It seems like many guests were here for a short stay as most were connected to the cruise ships. Maybe if all you're looking for is a quick stay to sleep for the night it would be ok, but the hotel was the most disappointing part of my trip, and also depressing. read more

The location is perfect, the front desk staff is so kind and helpful and the rooms were great! It was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and there was plenty of space! There's also 24/7 access to the rooftop and the view from up there was beautiful! There are even tables and chairs to just relax and enjoy the view from! It's walking distance from all the main attractions and there is even a biscuit bitch right next door which worked out perfectly for us! There is complimentary coffee in the morning, water, and bikes to check out to ride around town! The best part too was that even after we checked out they held onto our luggage so we wouldn't have to haul it around while we still explored until our flight home. We really enjoyed our stay here, will definitely stay here again whenever we visit Seattle again. read more
