Our own little patio!
Maria E.

PARKING TIPS: Street parking only however it wasn't a particularly difficult process to navigate. Here's how it works. Parking is free from 8pm to 8am. You pay via the PayByPhone app which is very easy to use (it informs you of how much time you have left and you can easily add via 15 minute increments). It's really cheap (50 cents for 1 hour). The limit is 4 hours though. However, the limit seems to only matter within the app as it won't let you add $ and go over 4 hours. We let the 4 hours expire and immediately started another session at the same exact location. It worked fine as I don't think parking enforcement is marking your tires or anything. At 8am, we also started another session in the same exact spot so the car sat there for like 16+ hours. If you're nervous about it, just plan to park your car at 4pm or after so that you're within the 4 hour limit once the free evening parking hits at 8pm. A hotel employee also said she doesn't think enforcement is too stringent so as long as you're paid, I wouldn't worry too much about how long the car has been sitting there. HOTEL: Super cute boutique hotel. I loved their plant-filled lobby. It's a bit difficult to find from the outside as it blends into its surroundings and doesn't really look like a hotel. CHECK-IN: Simple and friendly. Just a heads up, they have minimal front desk service. I believe they left at 5pm which is really early. This is the sort of hotel where you get a front door key in addition to your room key. Thus, if you are getting there later, you have to make alternate arrangements. The hotel was really good at reaching out to me after booking to inquire regarding my check-in time. ROOM: Minimalist but cute and trendy. We even had a little patio! Comfortable bed. We were warned that the hot water would take a bit to get going due to the current limited capacity. It did take a little bit but once it got going, it was very hot. My one complaint would be that the heaters didn't work too well and it was a bit cold in the room. LOCATION: Belltown is a pretty cool area where you are within walking distance to bars/restaurants. Also really close to Pike Place Market. We got there as the lockdown restrictions were being tightened and it was pretty apocalyptic. In the early evening, very few restaurants were still open and the only people on the streets were homeless. Saw broken car windows and clearly mentally ill homeless folks. Honestly didn't feel very safe at all. I'm sure it's a temporary status quo during the lockdown but just a heads up.

Very friendly staff, clean facilities, and a tasty breakfast included. Also a great location! This is probably the most I've ever paid for a night at a hotel... so that's probably just the local economy, but it still seemed odd that it would be so expensive and you still have to share a bathroom. Regardless, the bathrooms were clean and it didn't matter all that much. I only went down a star because the windows don't do a lot for sound control, and my room was along what seemed like a busy city street. I heard trucks unloading throughout the night. Otherwise great.

Very trendy, hip and quaint hotel. Seattle Ace Hotel was the first Ace Hotel location. Was very hard to find, does not appear like your ordinary hotel from the exterior. They offer covered parking at $45 or you can choose to do street parking which runs from 8 am - 8 pm through a park and pay service that charges roughly around $1/hour depending on the date/time that you park. The rooms have the best pillows I have ever used in my entire life, I plan on buying a set online when I get home ($120/2 pillows). The room did not have body lotion or a mini bar. Other than that, everything was great! I even had a view of the water. Not a bad rate either for downtown Seattle!

We stayed at the Ace the night before our cruise to Alaska. I choose it because it was listed on one of those "Ten Best Hotels Near the Cruise ship pier" lists. After searching the internet and seeing the brick building, I decided to go for it. What a pleasure! Our arrival time was hours before check in, but that was OK because we were able to store our luggage, then walk the 10 minutes to Pike's Place. When we did check in, I was delighted with our room. Super clean and decorated in an industrial style, our room featured a great view of Elliot Bay! The owners have left the beautiful architectural details alone, and modernized where needed. (The hotel was built in 1910) The room was full of thoughtful details: a mimi fridge, handmade ceramic cups, monogrammed bathrobes, etc. The location is perfect, too! Like I said we were close to Pike's place. The Ace is close to a wide variety of other restaurants, including a mini mart across the street. If you stay at the the Ace, you won't be sorry. Enjoy!

Make your own waffle! We got full off all of this, really good :)

Really good hotel for a weekend trip. Great location. The breakfast room was great! It has great views of the water. The deluxe rooms are a good size and very cozy. If you need a place for a few days, I recommend this one.

While looking for affordable hotels for a last minute trip to Seattle, I came across Ace Hotel. I absolutely loved our stay here! A lot of people question why this place has such high ratings, but keep in mind that it is a "2 star" hotel. It's not supposed to be ultra luxurious. The location was convenient. Every room is unique. The hotel felt safe, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice. I think that's what's important. It kinda felt like living in a dorm, minus all the loud noises. I loved the free breakfast and the waffle maker (even though a stranger had to help me make mine LOL). Pros: - The (free!) wi-fi was quick enough for me to browse through facebook and watch Netflix on my iPad. - The beds and bed sets were super clean and comfy. - Very welcoming and knowledgable staff. - Great breakfast & free beverages (OJ, milk, coffee) - Free stationery in the lobby. Cute postcard! - Every room is unique and it makes you want to visit and see 'em all Cons: I really wish I could give this place 5 stars, but let's just say that my room wasn't fully cleaned upon arrival. During my last day staying here, I had my outfit laid out on the bed and my socks rolled off. As I went to pick it up, I noticed something that wasn't mine under the bed. Gross! I notified the front desk before I left and hopefully it was taken care of.. :)

Sparkling clean hotel room, great stay for a few nights. Very close to great restaurants that are taking COVID precautions. Excellent service with minimal contact. No breakfast due to COVID, however we were given great recommendations. No on-site parking, plenty of street parking at a minimal cost. Would recommend.

A trip involving staying at Ace Hotel is always the most memorable ones-let alone coming the original Ace Hotel in Seattle where it all started. Historical building, Pacific Northwest + Belltown vibes, curated robes, furniture, cups, retro telephone , stereo system and fan.......and the famously comfortable beddings-every Ace Hotel is unique. Never again will your travel log be blurry from one Marriot to another. Yes you may not have the latest and greatest conveniences, but you already have those at home, don't you? Those who travel well leave behind their worldly belongings and standards and come to immerse in the local scene will love this Tiny hotel up the hill just at the edge of Pike Place. The continental breakfast (ready before 6am!) was awesome with non-dairy and keto options! My jaw dropped when I found out the Organic eggs were from the owner's own farm. The breakfast probably made this my favorite Ace hotel

Perfect for the budget traveler - close to most downtown attractions, plus the space needle and Olympic sculpture park. The shared bathrooms were sparkling clean, and since they are actually separate single baths, did not feel shared at all. Love that they give you robes! I could use shower shoes but beggars can't be choosy! Free breakfast, coffee, and WiFi, but no parking or affordable lot access through the hotel.

The ac unit in my room.

Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Most of the outlets in my room did not work, they had a portable ac unit in the room venting out the window that made noise constantly. Everything is very run down in the hotel. The only food option is a vending machine with candy bars that only takes cash. I paid ~ $200 a night and was staying here to check it out more than anything else but instead of checking it out I should have just checked right out.

The bathroom door is a swiveling wall.

Does anyone know what the shared bathroom means?

There are 6 private bathrooms with locks just out the door of the Standard rooms. Deluxe rooms all have the bathroom in the room.

The staff definitely leave something to be desired. I found them a mixture of condescending and rude. We requested early check in and where informed our room was not ready. Than watched them check in couple after couple. 2.5 hours later we got our early check in. A whole 15 minutes early. This was after it supposedly took them 45 minutes to clean the room. Now on to the room. The room was modestly sized with furniture shoved into every available space. The floors are plastic and cold. TV lost connection no less than 5 times forcing us to miss a few minutes of the show to reboot it. The best part was the bed. Very comfy bed. The comforters they provide are not designed for tall people though. The bathroom was not great. The shower is small with a temp control that sticks causing jumps in water temp. From luke warm to scalding quickly. For men beware the toilet. The water level is so high if you have to sit down to potty you will need to squat or parts might find themselves taking a swim in murky waters if you know what i mean. I would have normally told the staff all of this but the icy frosting on this stay was check out where the staff gave no greeting, didn't ask how the stay was or even express any positive sentiment towards us. In a city full of places to stay don't be fooled by there advertised low price. You end up with a low price experience for a high price in your check book.

I tried to explain that people were right behind us and it wasn't safe to block egress but the people at the front desk said that it wasn't a problem. My husband just needed to block traffic and unload our things then wait for a valet driver to appear. I asked if we could upgrade our room to a club level but was informed that they have no ability to do so at the front desk and haven't for some time. I was very disappointed at this. It would have been one thing if they were booked but just flat out denial just because felt somehow personal (even if it wasn't actually). I went back out to the entrance to see if I could spot my husband and made him stop. Soon after a valet arrived and said he should park the car perpendicular to the other cars so he would have somewhere to park. This would have effectively blocked both the valet cars and the through traffic lanes. He then asked if we were going to do valet parking. I told him "not any more!" This hotel charges $69 a night for valet and the self parking isn't worlds cheaper but it definitely felt worth it to have our car placed carefully by us and not left in the care of the person who felt perpendicular/blocking through traffic was a good idea. Meanwhile I found our room that has a persistent sound of whistling when the heating is on and I found that the bathroom, while beautiful had a rather unappealing quality. When you use the toilet you are looking directly into a rather large mirror. When taken all together it makes for a rather disappointing experience. I don't think I will stay at any Hyatt again. There are other options that are pleasant and clean and well thought out nearby.

When we came back and our room was ready, my husband did call down and mentioned it was our anniversary since they had confirmed in previously but we didn't see anything in the room, and they were very kind to bring up a little treat for us including some delicious chocolate covered strawberries. The room itself was spacious and clean with a great view of the city (we had a corner view). We tried the tuna hamachi crudo, clams and mussels, roasted hen of the woods and grilled broccolini. The tuna hamachi crudo was good, though I was hoping for more brightness in the flavor. I enjoyed the clams and mussels as well as the roasted hen of the woods overall, but felt the grilled broccolini was a little too dry (seemed grilled without any oil or seasoning). We did also try a few seasonal mocktails which were delicious and the highlight of the meal. Brunch the next day was take out and we went with a steak and eggs and a caesar salad. The greeters always opened the door for me, the check-in desk staff were courteous and always had a smile, and the checkout process was also quick and ended with an invitation to return to the property the next time I'm in Seattle. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch. The downtown area, Pike Place market, the overlook deck, all were within 10 minutes walking distance. Despite arriving few minutes past midnight, our check-in process was easy. The room was well furnished. All amenities in the room and bathroom worked fine. Our room had a balcony with full glass window. Since the building was U shaped, all the rooms from other side could see our room, and vice versa. So, the setup was not best privacy wise, we had to use the curtains most of the time. But we got a gorgeous view of the pear and mountain range from the room. The lobby area also had wonderful interior and plenty of areas to sit. The hotel had M lounge where we were able to get snack and drinks throughout our stay. There was one restaurant adjacent to the hotel and a bar as well that appeared to get busy around dinner hours. All staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had gym and pool as well. The pool was split into half indoor and half outdoor. The water was bit warm, so despite the weather being chili outside, we were able to use the pool. But the disappointing part the floor area around the pool was so under maintained. There were cracks, dirt, uncovered holes, things that I had rarely seen for a Marriott hotel. Our room was also next to a portion of the building's roof that had bird poop, dirt, and weed. Though we had a wonderful time staying at this hotel, some these minor factors were sore eye to the experience.

I called reservations who said they would allow me to move the reservation to another night for $800 and waive the cancellation fee $500. The front desk stooge said no, they would not waive the fee. So a Platinum member who always shows up, never complains literally can't get to the hotel and even partial refund. Bullshit. I will NEVER stay at your half ass hotel.
