Four stars based on the following: - LOCATION- if this is your first visit to Seattle or you just want to be in the middle of the Pike Place Market action, this is super convenient. - Aesthetic, we loved the quirky green-forward design - Space, we booked the king studio and it was very big with a couch, double vanity in the bathroom, walk-in shower + claw foot tub - AC worked well, not one of those places where you put it to 68 but it never gets below 75 - Our room was comfortable- I saw reviews about hard mattresses, and our friends reported that their mattress was hard. Ours was comfy and the pillows were as well. Noting some not-so-great things in case they are important to you: - Noise, creaky floors (it's an old building) will wake you up if you aren't on the top floor. Also, there seem to be thin walls in areas, or we just happened to have quiet neighbors. Our friends staying in another room could hear someone's incessant coughing through the wall. - There's no market or complimentary water. We paid $9 for each of the large bottles in our room. - There's a mini fridge, but it's FULL. We had drinks and leftovers that we wanted to keep cold so we had to remove all the stuff and restock it before we left.

If you only care about proximity to top things to tourist things in Seattle this is a good option. Upon check in there was no where to park the car to unload the bags, the parking out front of the hotel was "5minutes" but clear people were parked there much longer. Once we finally made it inside the hotel I paid the 133$ for parking down the street I was told just scan the QR code when you enter and leave. Well, it was a nightmare the entire time and never worked and the parking deck staff was truly useless. The hotel should not recommend such a crappy parking deck that will cause their guests problems each time they move their car. Anyways, back to the hotel. The hotel smells like a hospital it seems it's a converted hospital as the rooms have the hospital symbol on the lights. The housekeeping did not clean or make the beds until night DAY 3. Which is CRAZY. The tv in the room only has live tv no Netflix or YouTube. The bottles of water in the room are 12$ the fridge stocked is extremely expensive. The snacks in the room are extremely expensive. The parking is extremely expensive. Upon arriving to the hotel one night there was a ghost tour talking about the "hotel". All in all amazing location and really everything else left a lot to be desired.

I didn't really wanna give this rating, but, here we are. We have one more day here out of a 3 night stay. Upon arrival, front desk has been very welcoming along with housekeeping staff in our floor. We were given a heads up, upon checking in- that the elevator was temporarily out of service- due to a part needing to be delivered. The receptionist noticed I was wearing a medical boot on my foot and gave us the second floor. Yes, the aesthetic is gorgeous in the lobby and in your room. That's another reason why I booked here. Also, very close proximity to Pike's Public Market a block away. While we were out exploring our first day- hubby received a text stating the elevator would be up and running by 6/18 at 7pm. Then on our second day (6/18) we received another text in the afternoon stating the elevator would not be operating at all. And if guests need to cancel their reservation, they are waiving cancellation fees. Yes, it's an inconvenience. Another inconvenience I realized at 3am on our second day- there's no coffee pods in the room! Just teeny tiny Early grey pods. Hunt and Gather opens at 8am. Local cafes open at either 7am or 7:30. But, as much as I don't want to patronize Starbucks- the one across the street from Pike Place Public Market (the first Starbucks)- opens before 6:30am. But- ONLY beverages are served. No microwave in the rooms, something that would be great to have handy. No in room safe. There's a full stocked mini fridge and snack cubby available. Price list is available- but, many stores like H Mart across the street and Target a few blocks down to take advantage of. We haven't looked for an ice machine- so, not sure if there's one available. Since there's no ice bucket available in the rooms. We requested an iron and ironing board- housekeeping delivered promptly. We were asked if we would like daily room service, and declined the offer.

I had no idea what hotel to choose for my stay in Seattle and picked the one that had a good rate. I brought my earplugs in case it was too noisy! I read the reviews and came prepared. I walked in with my luggage and the concierge was busy checking in a group. It took a while to get them check in and finally I got checked in within 5 minutes and given a voucher for a free drink. I made it up to my room which was absolutely lovely. The set up was beautiful and I was in a nice corner facing the H Mart. The setup was different since the sink was on the opposite side of the bathroom. But no big deal. Room had a section for all the snacks and I was cautious to read the price of the items to ensure I didn't have any surprises on my final bill. I had brought ear plugs because I read all the reviews that the walls were thin. Didn't end up needing them which was great. I enjoyed my room as it was close to the elevator. I would recommend the front desk acknowledge people as they wait in line. Let's them know they are seen and will be helped out shortly. The hotel is beautiful and I enjoyed my stay. I would return again.

Perfect location in downtown Seattle right by Pike's Place. This quirky little hotel is perfect for a weekend stay. Front desk and restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful. Only downside is the parking situation which is a few blocks away and not a good area to walk alone or at night. You'd be better off parking at the market.

This is a low class place. This is the room we walked into. I have a confirmation I didn't book this room. They partner's with 3rd parties who separate the room types and charge per room type. They say they only have these rooms left, and they can't do anything about it. Also, stated was valet parking but not between 11-7. There is no parking here, and no one to take the car. You have to do it yourself and walk back. Are you kidding me?

Location is great and it's cute. HOWEVER... the bed and pillows were TERRIBLE! I had the worst pain from the bed and could hardly sleep! Also the bed was lopsided! Along with the AC in our first room didn't work! Our second room wasn't much better! No space to put anything! All the stuff was either in my suitcase or on the floor! Just very expensive for old and run down vibes. I will say the shampoo and conditioner were nice and the robe was very comfortable.

This is not a luxury hotel & I would not recommend it for kids either. You can hear everything at night, the front desk isn't clear about parking, you'll likely be out $80 for street parking. The outlets near the bed couldn't even hold a simple night light. We tried to leave the light on dim & after an hour or so they shut off so not ideal if you have someone afraid of the dark. There were stains on the wall & dirt on the floor. Not pleasant

The positives: Great location, steps from the market and other key locations. We were told the best room is 416, the corner room with two water views. It's a decent-sized room for an old building with enough space for two people. Everything was updated and nice. The staff were very nice, it's quiet in the lobby, and there is a nicely designed sitting room to hang out and read or chat. We had a great view and that added to our stay. There is a coffee shop and restaurant in the hotel. The less-than-great: it's EXPENSIVE. For the price, I won't stay again. Also, at that price, water shouldn't be $13 a large bottle! It would be nice to have complimentary water. It's noisy, so be prepared for city noise and windows that are old and not that sealed. I found the bed a bit saggy and uncomfortable, but my husband was fine. The coffee shop opens pretty late (7:30) and the restaurant as well (8). The coffee shop across the street was open early, so we got coffee there, but then had to finish it before bringing it in the restaurant, which was a bit annoying and silly. Overall, glad we did it, but would probably stay elsewhere if we returned.

I tried to explain that people were right behind us and it wasn't safe to block egress but the people at the front desk said that it wasn't a problem. My husband just needed to block traffic and unload our things then wait for a valet driver to appear. I asked if we could upgrade our room to a club level but was informed that they have no ability to do so at the front desk and haven't for some time. I was very disappointed at this. It would have been one thing if they were booked but just flat out denial just because felt somehow personal (even if it wasn't actually). I went back out to the entrance to see if I could spot my husband and made him stop. Soon after a valet arrived and said he should park the car perpendicular to the other cars so he would have somewhere to park. This would have effectively blocked both the valet cars and the through traffic lanes. He then asked if we were going to do valet parking. I told him "not any more!" This hotel charges $69 a night for valet and the self parking isn't worlds cheaper but it definitely felt worth it to have our car placed carefully by us and not left in the care of the person who felt perpendicular/blocking through traffic was a good idea. Meanwhile I found our room that has a persistent sound of whistling when the heating is on and I found that the bathroom, while beautiful had a rather unappealing quality. When you use the toilet you are looking directly into a rather large mirror. When taken all together it makes for a rather disappointing experience. I don't think I will stay at any Hyatt again. There are other options that are pleasant and clean and well thought out nearby.

I had a great stay at The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown and would definitely consider staying here…read moreagain. I booked it partly because it's part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, so I could earn and redeem Hilton Honors points. That was a huge plus since I was visiting during the World Cup and hotel prices were absolutely wild: close to $800 a night if I had paid out of pocket! The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. There was a bellman opening the door, everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating, and it was always easy to grab an Uber right outside the hotel. One feature I really liked was the little pantry in the lobby. It's basically a self-service convenience store stocked with local candy, snacks, wine, beer, and other treats. You scan everything yourself and can charge it directly to your room, which was super convenient. We used our HHonors stay credit to buy a small bottle of Washington State wine and some local chocolates. The hotel has a really fun music theme throughout, and the design is modern with a Scandinavian-inspired feel. As a Gen Xer, I thought the vibe was just plain cool without trying too hard. Our standard King room had huge windows, a spacious sitting area, and clean, minimalist European-style décor that felt fresh and comfortable. The hotel itself was also surprisingly quiet despite being located in an urban area, so we slept really well. The only disappointment was our view. It wasn't much to look at. I was secretly hoping for an upgrade, but no luck. Not a deal breaker, just a minor letdown considering one side of the hotel affords perfect views of the Space Needle. The location is excellent for sightseeing on foot. We walked to Pike Place Market in about 10 minutes, and the Space Needle was also around a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction. Just be prepared for Seattle's hills! They're no joke, and you'll be going up and down some very, very steep streets to get to the waterfront. There are also plenty of great restaurants, bars, shops, and coffee shops within easy walking distance. One thing I'd mention is that while we felt comfortable during the day, after dinner around 10:45 p.m. we decided to take an Uber back from the Pike Place Market area instead of walking back to the hotel because parts of the area felt a little sketchy at night. Seattle has a very serious problem with drug users and unhoused folks, and they can get a little scary. I feel so badly for them, but I also felt a lot safer in an Uber than trying to walk back in the downtown area that late at night. The Sound is a stylish, comfortable hotel with excellent service, a great location, and a fun personality. If you're a Hilton Honors member, it's an especially solid choice when Seattle hotel prices are high.

The window area settee was the perfect place for a snack and using my laptop to prepare for the next day. The closet has more than just two hangers, which I appreciated being able to hang the clothes that needed to be hung and steamed later. The bed was soft, but not overly so and the charging options on the nightstand helped me keep some of my electronics packed and neat. Being in Downtown Seattle, I really didn't feel like I needed a car. The Sound is situated in a great place to just walk where I needed to go. Less than five minutes away from Westlake where I could catch either the monorail or Link, was very convenient for me. I enjoy walking around to get familiar with the area I'm in and there was so much to see!!! I will be back to The Sound for my next Seattle adventure!

Our last two nights of our journey were spent in Seattle at the Shafer Baillie mansion. I would highly recommend staying here. The location was great for getting to downtown and all around. It was built in 1914 and has been well cared for over the years. When we came back from one evening out, we all gathered in the Library and set up some charcuterie and wine to share from our travels. It was so cozy sitting all together and chatting about our adventures. The rooms are historic with modern conveniences. Our room was the Queen Ann Hill. We slept soundly in our comfortable 4 poster bed. There was a helpful step stool for me to climb up as I am vertically challenged. It has original pushbotton light switches. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch.
