I met family here for brunch on a Saturday morning. We decided to sit on the front patio with our dog and enjoy lunch. The service was great, however the food is another story. To start, I tried the siracha and wasabi Bloody Mary. Warning: the wasabi is not mixed in the drink like the siracha so be careful not to get a straw full of wasabi like me. All around the drinks were pricey but taste great. For food I tried the Spanish chilaquiles and breakfast burrito. The chilaquiles is what I usually order, it's packed with flavor and filling. I asked for egg over easy but it was very over cooked, the chorizo was missing from the dish, and the ingredients included in the breakfast burrito were diced so fine and used sparingly. Thirsty Lion is tucked back a bit in the new Euless shopping area, near the Total Wine. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside, and the patio is great. I met up with a girlfriend for an early dinner and to check out their happy hour. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and just the right amount of attention. On to the food. It LOOKS really good. Everything that was brought out made you go "ooh". Unfortunately, the flavors are just mediocre. I had a blood orange margarita that tasted just like juice. It was pretty, and I like juice, but a margarita should also taste like tequila. The queso comes out in cast iron, but it wasn't hot. It didn't get finished. The green chili chicken sandwich was also very pretty, but just ok. All these "gastro pubs" keep popping up, with nice decor and mediocre food. Without the mediocre price. I have heard they do well at brunch, and I am open to trying it again. read more

This is not my typical review because I can't actually review the food. This will be about the service or rather the lack of service. The weather was beautiful yesterday so we (3 adults and my 2-year-old grandson) decided to find a patio. We had just eaten at The Reserve (just across the way from The Thirsty Lion) the night before so we decided to go to The Thirsty Lion. Of note, my sister and I both spent years in food service as servers and managers. We get it. When things are busy, we completely understand and are patient and helpful. But we also see the flip side. We got there at 3:00. There were multiple tables open outside, but the non-high-tops were dirty, except for one which I will get to in a minute. Being with a 2-year-old, we needed a normal height table. We asked about a table outside and the hostess said there wasn't anything available. I looked out the window and said it looks like there are - they just need to be cleaned. She was clearly annoyed. About that time, someone went outside and picked up a few glasses from one of the tables so she said she would sit us out there when it was clean. 10 minutes later, I kid you not, nothing else has happened. She has disappeared and the tables are still dirty. She comes back to the front and another man with a toddler came in. He asked to sit at a normal height table outside and she said they were dirty. He asked about the fire table and she said sure. Off they go to sit outside. We didn't know that was an option but it would have been nice to offer it. She doesn't come back immediately but shows up about 5 minutes later. I ask about the progress and she says they are getting the tables clean. Now, I can see the patio from the front door and there is zero sense of urgency. I ask if they even know someone is waiting. She again seems annoyed and says there are a lot of tables to clean. Granted, but you have customers waiting for one of them. 10 more minutes pass. During this time, a manager walks up to the hostess and asks what we are doing. Again, no sense of urgency. We finally get seated more than 25 minutes after we arrive. Okay. Then we wait. No server. The people at the tables all around us have servers. 8 minutes pass and the hostess wanders out. I ask if there is a server for the table and she asks who sat us there. Really? A few minutes later and a waiter comes by and says he will be with us in a few minutes. At this point, we have been there 40 minutes. Seems ridiculous, right? We agree. We decide to leave and go back to The Reserve. A different manager sees us getting up to walk out and comes to figure out what is happening. By then, we were just over it. We went to The Reserve, got seated at the big top table outside (even though they normally hold it for big parties but they took pity on us when we told them what just happened) and had incredible service. We wanted to try it and I think we were incredibly patient. (That patience was only possible because my grandson was playing outside with my husband although my husband said my grandson was so hungry he ate dirt. :) )The menu looked good and the reviews seem good so we were interested but the consistent service failures by pretty much everyone we encountered when they were not busy is pretty tough to overcome. read more

We dined at the Thirsty Lion in Euless. The place is very large and has many tables. My family and I attended on Friday night for St. Patties day Irish food. The place was very well decorated and festive! I was concerned when we first arrived because the restaurant was fairly empty, but I believe it's simply because the restaurant is so large with numerous tables. Happily the food - corned beef and cabbage- was amazing! And my daughter loved her Mac n Cheese off the kids meal. The server was attentive and professional. The staff took a picture of us with the Irish photo opt on the way out. Great Experience! read more

We discovered this place last week. We were looking for someplace near dfw after a day of travel. Today was our second visit in a week. The food is amazing. We've tried three burgers and the pad Thai. The beer selection is sound Both times we sat in the patio and enjoyed the vibe. And our server Ana was great. read more

Very nice ambiance inside--industrial looking, lots of booths, spacious, bar in center. I sat on the porch outside, with my 2 friends, as the high ceilings make restaurants rather loud at times. The outside temp was in the 90s but the porch had ceiling fans and misters to keep customers cool. I had the cheeseburger. Burger was around 4 oz and cooked as I requested. The bun was not fresh, which deflated the burger experience. Fries were good, but smaller portion. My friend and I liked the smaller portion but it may put bigger eaters off. Friend 1 had the spicy fried chicken, which she said was good but the batter was unusually thick. Friend 1 said cole slaw was very good. 2nd friend had Cobb salad. She did not remark on whether it was good--however, Friend 1 and I noticed the salad was small for the price paid, and the chicken portion of the salad looked skimpy and anemic. Drinks--we did not order drinks. Water came in a great old fashioned glass milk bottle (no ice) which we used to fill our cups. Ice would have made the water a better experience, but I understand that the expectation of ice is an American thing. Price: $19-20 with tip. Would I go back? Not sure. It's pretty close to Lazy Dog, which I love, so I don't know why I would pick Thirsty Lion over Lazy Dog. read more

Thirsty Lion has become a family favorite for our family! We love how close it is to us and it's open later than the other restaurants in the new shopping center area, also keeping the area pretty lively. The brunch menu is awesome and so is dinner! Their beer and wine selection is great! So many craft beers on tap! Service has always been top notch and it's mostly what keeps us going back! read more

I'm going to start this off by saying I am a Miami girl through and through. My first time in Texas, I came here for dinner and was not disappointed. I had the a burger the first time and was blown away. Then next day I kissed my flight home and stayed in the hotel across the street for another night. That time I had the steak. That steak made me consider uprooting my whole life to be near it. It's that good. I wish I had a picture but I plan on going back again and will update this with pictures at that time. The ambiance is incredible. The people behind the bar are also amazing. I haven't been to many places here in Dallas yet but it's already my favorite. I had that steak a few months ago and I still talk about it to this day. You HAVE to try it! read more

We went as a family with a baby in a stroller so our review is based on this place as a family restaurant. In that regard I liked the place because they have plenty of space to move around with a baby in a stroller and also a clean family restroom . As a restaurant/ Gastropub/ sports bar this place has a lot going for it : * TVs, patio, happy hour, brunch menu * 4 kinda Bloody Mary s for brunch !!!? * the food is really good . We ordered the brunch menu, and whatever we got hit the spot. See some drool worthy pictures. Overall great spot, I would visit again ! read more

Update 02/14/20 - We sat at the bar again. No bar specials since it was Valentine's Day. No problem since we wanted to try out some of the regular menu. We had the Scotch Egg. Very good. Wish it had more sausage wrapped around the egg. You could not taste the sausage. Just egg and breading. The mustard dipping sauce was awesome with it. We split the Fish & Chips. Nice that they split it for us. The slaw was great. Loved the Cod and the fries were great too. Will definitely be back. read more

The restaurant is is a very nice shopping area close to Colleyville. The food was good, drinks were great and our server was nice. We had an unusual delay in being seated, even though we had a reservation, which is why I Am giving them 4 stars instead of 5. Will definitely go back. read more

Dirty bar, no interest by anyone to clean it. No engagement or ownership. Just doing time.

Very good ambiance and food here. Think upscale sports bar. They have plenty of TVs for Sports, which was a plus for us, but it is a classy place. Seating outside also , they even had a fire pit on the patio. The searing is mostly high bar chairs but comfortable. The only minus the noise level, music is too loud for this type of place . Food was great - I had the Salmon, my wife tried the pork belly tacos, two thumbs up. Big drink selection of spirits, craft beers, they even made a drink for my wife that wasn't on the menu. A lot of the negative reviews were about slow service, our waitress Brittany was good , attentive and knowledgeable of the menu, no complaints. This was New Years Eve and we had reservations at 6:15 so it wasn't crowded yet , I'd recommend reservations as it was packed when left. read more

Thirsty Lion Gastropub is a pretty nice restaurant. I have been here twice and have enjoyed the appetizer, food, dessert, and cocktails that I have ordered from here. My favorite is the spicy fried chicken. The Artichoke spinach dip is really good too. And their cocktails were small but tasted good. The WHISKEY APPLE CRUMBLE amazing. This restaurant has many options to choose from and look forward to try something different from their menu. read more

Stopped in for a late night bite and were pleased that the kitchen was still open. This was my second visit to a Thirsty Lion and I was impressed yet again. This is a new shopping, dining, entertainment complex and we learned this is just the second location of this restaurant. The vibe is cool and the majority of tables are bar height with lots of larger tables, making it great for groups. On this visit I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were perfect! Perfectly crispy and tasty. The sandwich was equally delicious. The slightly spicy, fried but juicy chicken breast was complemented by the slaw. Thinking back, I think I ordered the same dish on the visit to the Las Colinas location! Randi at the bar took great care of us! I think they have a winner with this combo of food, service and atmosphere, so here's hoping more locations open soon! read more

Went for late lunch after 2 on sat. Not crowded about 30%full. Took 15 min to get asked if we wanted a drink then another 10 to get them. Took another very long time to order food. Of course that took at least 20 mins. We almost fell asleep waiting for the check. Btw. The food was ok, nothing great and for sure not worth the wait. On top of that they've raised prices so much they're crazy. $14 for a pretzel?!! Been there many times but I don't see them in my dining future. read more

A really good place in a really good spot. It's big and spread out so it doesn't really feel crowded when it's full of people. It's not a sports bar but they do have several large screens. Today was our first time here and all five of us were happy with our meals and the service. Eric greeted us at the door and seated us and was also our server. Eric gets 5 stars! It was not busy at 3 pm and we were seated immediately. The outside seating was as full as inside due to nice weather. Also, patio is dog friendly. My ahi tuna salad was delicious! The tuna was seared perfectly - raw in middle with a spicy crust. The salad was served with a dressing and a thick sweet "jam" on the side. The tuna was so spicy and peppery with a few twists of the pepper grinder I didn't even need the dressing just dipped the tuna in the sweet "jam" to balance the spice. The beer braised shrimp was also really good. My parents shared the shrimp, and the fish and chips. They split both orders and all 4 plates looked like a full order. My sister had the cobb salad with chicken and niece had sliders. They pretty much cleaned their plates. Everyone liked the fries. One star off for the wine list. I asked for a sample which was bad . We decided on the Malbec and neither of us liked it. I had the 5 oz and didn't even drink 1/2. I am looking forward to going back and trying the pork belly tacos. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants! I come here often with my fiancé and friends; I am always happy with what I get. They have such a large variety of things to choose from on their menu. I also like that they change things up sometimes by having seasonal menus. I came here for brunch the other day with my fiancé and we sat on their patio. I ordered the Irish Whisky French toast, which was yummy and crunchy from the corn flakes they added to it. I also got the raspberry mimosa and my fiancé had a spicy Bloody Mary. This is an awesome place to watch sports events, especially soccer. They have a ton of big screens all over the place. When we went for brunch the women's World Cup was playing. You can enjoy the TVs at any location in the restaurant bc they have so many. I ordered their jalapeño burger. It's pretty big and very flavorful. They thin onion strings made it a little unique. The burger comes with fries, that's usually the only way I like my burger. However, I probably wouldn't get the fried next time, bc they were way too greasy for my likening. Overall, this place is very spacious, great for watching sports events, and serves a pretty decent burger! read more

This place has the best lemonaid in the entire world. I love their french fries but no comparison to McDonalds. Inappropriate music videos play the whole time so not great for children, which I am. The Fried Chicken Mac n' Cheese is to die for. Brunch menu is extravagant. Not so much for the little ones though. I like turtles. read more

Had 2 back to back experiences at this site. I had a burger and requested it well done...however was very pink inside still. Fries were also cold. Went here and had a drink (tequila on the rocks), received the bill and was charged 3 extra dollars for the ice because I got it "as a drink". Updating from 2 stars to 3 stars due to our last 2 visits being much better. We finally got to try the food and of course it was just as delicious as I had expected it would be. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed so of course service was a little slow, but that was to be expected. I ordered the crispy fried chicken sliders and holy cow, they were good! They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The order came with 3 and was definitely enough to fill me up. The hubs ordered the pork belly street tacos which were also very good but the portion was very small. Enough for a snack but we also shared an order of french fries. We then went for brunch on a Sunday, and of course they were pretty busy. I ordered the huevos rancheros and I forget the hubs ordered. But were very delicious and we had enough food to take home for another meal. I ordered a mimosa and the glass came only half full, so that was a disappointment. While the service is still on the lacking end sometimes, we will be back because the food is SO good and I will continue to update my reviews based on experiences. read more

Busy Saturday night before seeing the new marvel movie we stopped by to grab a bite and a drink at the bar. It was busy and hectic but people were friendly. I ended up ordering a few vodka sodas and my friend ordered a few cocktails. The sazerac and mojito were delicious. I would comment that service was a little sluggish even for a busy weekend evening but not horrible. Most of the staff was friendly and brisk. I ordered the Caprese summer salad. Great flavor, just enough balsamic drizzle and presentation was good. I'm pretty forgiving with service industry in general but slow pace of service and lack of attentiveness otherwise would be 5 stars. Also the menu has a decent amount of variety and some Asian fusion which is interesting and worth noting. read more

I can't begin to even tell you how bad the service was. The waitress was very nice but awful at their job. I ordered a jack Daniels on the rocks because my old fashioned was literally syrup. It didn't come for 35 mins. A jack on the rocks, it doesn't get easier. The waiter came back and asked me 3 times what I ordered again and again and again. Another 20 minutes later and my wife went to the bar and asked for me. We wanted to leave but it was a Sunday for the Euro cup. That being said, there were a ton of empty tables and our server never was anywho to be found. I did end up ordering fish and chips and they were very good. Nothing can make up for terrible service though and for that reason we will never go back. It's a shame because we drove 45 mins from South Fort Worth. We will just continue to go to Trinity college because that place is a million times better. read more

The nachos were very tasty also. More than enough for 3 of us to munch on. The food seemed creative and the cocktails were unique in that they have out their own spin on it. Had brunch at Thirsty Lion today and the menu looked delicious. I hesitated long and hard over both the eggs benedict and the jalapeno chicken and waffles, but ended up going with the Irish Whiskey French Toast. I don't often get sweet food for breakfast/brunch but I had to see what this whiskey maple syrup was all about. It was DELICIOUS. The bread was nice and crunchy and the syrup was very tasty. I ate a little more than I probably should have, just because I was enjoying it so much. My husband got the pub breakfast and said it was very good, the maple pepper bacon in particular. There are several items I want to go back and try. We sat on the patio which even on a July day at lunchtime was nice and breezy (with fans) and not too hot. Speaking of hot, they have a special deal where Moscow mules and margaritas are half price when the temp is over 95 degrees. We may have to check that out. Genius on the part of businesses to do this to get people out of the house. Service was quick and friendly. No pressure to order expensive drinks - Thank you very much for that! Hubby got a bloody mary but I stuck with water. They were happy to seat us wherever we wanted to be. I had made a reservation just in case, because they are often crowded, but there was no one else on the patio. If I had a complaint about this place it would be the noise level inside. Much too loud. This is why I prefer to sit outside. read more
