Sat in the "seat yourself" section and we weren't acknowledged until 25 minutes later, only because we asked two different staff members if we could please have a waiter. Looking for a place with outside seating that you can bring your dog along to? This is the place. A little bit of a drive outside of Providence but the food makes it worth it. Our server Devon was engaging AND entertaining, showed off his impeccable memory skills when it came to orders. Lots of cool games to play with friends such as Jenga, old school table hockey etc. The brew list isn't too extensive but Devon will recommend some favorites such as Tribute, the American beer. My local bias and aversions may be showing a bit here by dropping the review needle on this one instead of C-town, but I do feel compelled *adjusts monocle* From a name I largely avoided at it's maiden incarnation due to it's tendency to become a petri dish of my estranged high school's stereotypical patrons, I can objectively say that this new cabin of gametime grub is quite enjoyable. The decor is an expanded carbon copy of the signature log-adorned branding, with a solidly refreshing amount of extra room in the ways of hightop seating at barfront locale. I also should add that it's stupid easy to get to off of 295, so don't let the Smithfield geotag deter you fellow Provy folk from popping up the I-way for a football Sunday. The food is stellar, which I will give to the original location as well. Paint most things in buffalo and I'm a sucker, but these dishes are legitimately worth the lunchtime mowdown. My Buffalo wrap saw the light of day for roughly 3 minutes after it's voyage from the kitchen to the bar. Drinkwise I am very satisfied with the array of craft beers, pounder standards, and mixological masterpieces. I can safely say there's absolutely something on the libations chart for every palate. An upper-end of great tuckaway and welcome addition to the occasionally chain-dominated Smithfield commons area. This place we stopped at on a whim and couldn't have been happier. The food was perfect and the service was more than expected. The drinks were a little out there, $11 for one "standard" when their "frozen" are prominently displayed as $12. Other than that, couldn't complain. I always like to try a place that others seem to dislike. Sometimes I think some people are just tough to please. This is also a new place so growing pains is natural. The only negative thing I can say is that it's going to make me sad when others find out how great this place is and it gets too busy to get in ! I ate at the other location recently and was psyched to discover one opened ten minutes from me. The place is super cute. The lights above look like logs and the bar looks like real wood. There are a ton of tvs around and it is a very lively atmosphere. There is patio seating and a large door that opens up for those who like to enjoy the weather. We sat at the bar but were greeted quickly At the hostess station. We had two bartenders serve us and were welcoming and sweet. I had a few different beers and was happy to see some local faves such as Foolproof. We had a log roll which is basically an eggroll stuffed with pulled pork and Mac and cheese and a ranch dipping sauce. Amazing. ! Also had pizza which is grilled and thin crust. It was cooked well and the cheese and pepperoni was very fresh. Prices were reasonable and the portion was decent. I say give this place a try and if you go take me with you. Yum. read more

I dig the Thirsty Beaver. I only went once when I was in RI visiting family for the weekend, but I enjoyed my time there. TB has a nice casual environment (log cabin meets sports bar feel) where people go to watch one of the game's the TB has on. Food is pretty tasty, while I was there I had a burger which was very yummy and cooked just right. I also enjoyed the glass of wine I had with it and if I remember correctly they have a nice selection of craft beers. I'll definitely check it out again when I am back in RI! read more

After playing tennis nearby, a group of friends decided to find a local place with patio seating. Thirsty Beaver fit the bill. There were about 12 of us going out for a late lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Thirsty Beaver. I had the chopped salad with chicken. Elsewhere on the table were some flat bread pizzas, a burger, various sandwiches and lots of beer. Everyone enjoyed their meals and our time at this road side restaurant. One of my favorite things on the menu was the fried pickles. I never knew I liked pickles until someone started frying them! Went twice in one week. So I'd definitely go back. Once with a child and we had no idea there was a children's menu available until after ordered. The children's chicken tenders I wouldn't recommend unless this was just a bad batch. However, ive had the flatbread pizza and eggroll and highly recommend the specialty rolls to anyone. My only complaint would be the humidity in there and the noise. The lack of windows and AC will definitely not have me returning until the Fall. Also, it was pretty loud, I understand it's a sports bar but I couldn't have a conversation with my friends at the table I was sitting with. Maybe next time I'll sit at the outdoor seating? Ps. This place has a distinct vibe that doesn't always work fir me. The acoustics do not lend themselves to conversation - But it's lively, festive and the multitude of televisions make it a great place to catch the game. The beer list is impressive and the food is consistently good. Service is extremely efficient. On a recent visit, O ordered the fish sandwich, which included a huge piece of mild white fish fried perfectly and piled with cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions and dill pickle tartar sauce. It was accompanied by a generous portion of fries. My date ordered the mac'n cheese, which was smokey and rich. The heaping portion was covered with beer bartered cheese curds that made a meal in themselves. The dish could have been warmer. But in all honestly, we'd filled up on a most ambitious appetizer of fried pickles and brought much of our entrees home. This was my first time at this location and I love that it has more space than the Cranston location. This place is hands down all around a good time. From the moment I walked in the other night, I was greeted by a gentleman working there with a smile, high-fived by the beaver himself and checked on by waiters throughout the night. Tenders and fries actually weren't bad, but the pulled pork sandwich...sweet Christmas it was drier than a piece of 40 grit sandpaper. I've been here a few times now and have had different experiences. One thing that's been consistently good is the food and the beer. The Sriracha Maple Brown Sugar wings and Guinness BBQ wings are soooo good. I don't want to try any new ones in case they are not as good but I'm sure that they are. I've had the Margherita pizza also which has balsamic glaze and pesto drizzled on top - very tasty. I've also tried a couple of burgers and waffle fries which were very tasty. I love the beer options and need to ask if they do beer flights next time I am in there (if not, hope they do upon reading this!) So the not so great stuff isn't unexpected for a new spot as it takes some time to get the footing right. One time we sat inside and had way too many flies...I get it, the garage-esque doors are open but it is super gross. Another time we sat outside and got attacked by mosquitos...I'm thinking some tiki torches or something with citronella could help. Service has gotten better, one waitress in particular is our favorite as she is consistently friendly knowledgable and shows up every once in a while. We did have a couple of times where we had to go find someone to get drinks and food. One other thing was that we were there during a live band playing and they suuuucked. We were outside and praying they would eventually stop singing...and they did. Again, these are things that develop for the better over time...you find the right people, know your setting and clientele and take it from there! This place is an easy choice for my bf and I when we want drinks and food in the company of very picky and unadventurous friends. The food is better than what you would expect from the place, what with the cheesy beaver theme (mozzarella bites are called justin beaver bites here) and glossy wood decor. I do love their wings, and every Tuesday is .50 wing night. I like that I never have to complain about my cocktails not being strong enough, though sometimes they taste like straight liquor and ice. We ordered from the Thirsty Beaver through GrubHub this weekend. Their menu is awesome and we all had trouble picking just one thing, everything sounded so good. We decided on the Totchos, Tickers Twist Chicken Sandwich and Ma the Meatloaf Plate. We just moved and had been cleaning and unpacking all day, so a plate of meatloaf sounded like heaven to me! Well, it took over an hour and a half for the food to arrive and it was all ice cold! The Totchos were rock hard, GREASY, the melted cheeses had solidified completely and a number of the toppings were omitted, it was just cheap tater tots with cheap cheese melted in a microwave. We ended up having to tear through boxes trying to find pans and foil so we could recook everything, exactly what we were trying to avoid by ordering dinner! The chicken sandwich was not bad, the chips it came with were cold and soggy. The meatloaf was awful, if you've ever had a frozen microwavable meatloaf dinner, this was pretty much the same thing... possibly a bit worse. The mashed potatoes had huge lumps, like a quartered potato, and they were thick and glue-y and not seasoned. There was a pepper jack cheese sauce that was so thick and chalky too. Absolute waste of time and money, we threw everything away after only eating a few bites. Do not make the same mistake we did! I get that the food wouldn't be as hot because it was delivered, but if you can't get it somewhere without it being ice cold, you probably shouldn't be offering delivery to that area! Also, the restaurant is 15 minutes away, even on a busy night, 90 minutes is insane. Stay away. read more

Where do i begin? On Sunday, August 1, 2021 The Thirsty Beaver hosted our families First Annual Ride for Rambo Memorial Bike Run. We lost our father to a tragic act of violence on May 1, 2021 and we began planning immediately for a bike run. The Thirsty Beaver was more than happy to be our choice of venue. The team of workers assured me that they wanted our event to be the best it can be and they definitely made that happen. Their staff was very attentive to all our needs and they helped with the set up and clean up of the event. One of their staff members even designed shirts for the event that said Ride for Rambo on the front and Staff on the back. The Thirsty Beaver made it feel like we were coming back home when we returned from the Bike Run, the food was hot and ready for over 125 guests. I just want to thank The Thirsty Beaver Staff, management Team Tim and Mark and Bella for making those epic t-shirts!!!!! So my second try at The Thirsty Beaver and it was excellent. Service- Stephanie was excellent. She was attentive, courteous, engaging, funny, and appeared that she cared about her customers and her job. The manager sat us and also came by to check on us. He was also very nice. food-- very good... we had garlic butter jalapeño wings (Tuesday is .50 per wing special) which were great. plenty of flavor, cooked just right, just enough sauce. We split a pizza (the special-Gouda, jalapeno, asparagus) which was spicy but very good. Thinner crust. The best food item of the night was the Risotto ball. crispy but not too firm, not too salty, plenty of opposing flavors. I was skeptical about ordering, but these were excellent. Beer selection--good selection. Some local craft, some not so local craft, and plenty of "typicals". all in all a pretty good variety. I had a very poor experience here the first time, but the second time was excellent. I will definitely return. I originally posted a yelp review of my first experience at TTB in Smithfield that reflected the poor experience, and the owner himself replied to my review. He was very apologetic and did whatever he could to get me to return for another chance. I'm happy I did return. I am very pleased with the service, food quality and taste, beer selection, the value/price and atmosphere. I will most definitely return. read more

Some of the bartenders are sexy. And they make me feel good as a customer. If I can't always rely on the customers to have my back the server's do . My social life deteriorated because of a game called RuneScape. It seeped into my life like carbon monoxide would kill you over a long period of time. I had a hard time just existing to be honest. First, the hostess ( if you even want to call her that) asked us how many in our party then proceeded to walk away, we all just looked at eachother like ummm are we supposed to follow her? She then returned and STILL didn't say anything, finally we were like whats going on? And she goes oh your table is down there to the right. Like really, who trained you! She never once said "follow me". She just walked away and put the menus on the table and walked back and just assumed me knew where we were sitting. It was so Odd. Food: Terrible, we ordered the fried pickles, which took over 45 minutes to come out. Then when they did they were just soaked in grease and SOGGY. Oh, and there were some random tater totts in our basket of pickles. Clearly they do not clean the baskets out before throwing another item in them. We also had kids at our table, so the fact that we waited over and hour for our meals sucked. Do you know how hard it is to entertain kids while your wait for your food for over and hour. I go to the thirsty beaver quite often with my family- they have a great beer selection and pretty good food. The part I'm really not happy about is.. the fact that I have let management know 3 times over the last 3 months that their changing table in the women's bathroom is hanging off the wall. They still have not fixed it, really disappointing.. this is a huge safety issue . Maybe they'll decide to fix the changing table after an accident with a child happens??? Who knows! read more

Great addition to the town. Right off 295. Beautiful building and decor. Staff is incredibly friendly and nice. Portions were big, especially appetizers. The place was packed on a Thursday night for their first week open. The garage doors open to patio. Even if you eat inside you feel the sunshine Marquis our waiter was awesome.
