J's Deli is a must in Smithfield! I've been coming here for a while now and feel guilty that I haven't written a review yet. The restaurant itself is clean, has a large deli display, and posters of all their delicious sandwiches. They also have premade salads, some desserts, and other goodies. I want to commend the employee I had tonight. I wish I had gotten her name but she was extremely kind and personable. I've had her before and she always makes for a great experience. If the business owner reads this she was working the night of 2/7/26 and is a crowd favorite! Tonight I ordered the Cape Cod sandwich and we also had the chicken and falafel wrap. The Cape Cod was delicious! Nice and crispy fish even though I brought it home. Their falafel is always moist and delicious as well. My other favorite sandwiches are the Varone and Goldfinger. What really sets them apart is their bread- always soft and very fresh tasting. Their prices are also reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is a sandwich shop Subway is jealous of! I enjoy the sandwiches here, more recently I had the 49'er, which was just okay. It was not something I would get again. I think I prefer their Italian. I ordered two sandwiches (The Pilgrim and The 49'er) and three bottled sodas from the coolers, the total was well over 40 dollars. Yes; I know the meat and ingredients are all fresh, but for a quick bite to eat a deli, I should not be paying well over 40 dollars for two sandwiches and a few drinks. read more

I've heard from several people in the area that if you wanted a sandwich, J's was the place to go. I followed that advice and I went to check them out. When I got inside there was a pretty big line. I waited about 20-25 minutes in line before ordering and another 5-10 before getting my sandwich. I have no issues waiting but there wasn't much standing room in the place. My sandwich was ok. I ordered a special. The chicken was a dry and there wasn't much sauce on it. For what the sandwich cost, I was expecting a little more. Would I try it again? Maybe. But it's not something I will actively seek out to do. read more

Have always gone to all three locations. Never really had anything bad to say. It's always good and consistent. Better alternative to the chains. I am bummed they are down to one location. They are always busy and for a reason. Especially lunchtime you have to plan ahead. It's a smaller spot but still room to sit. I almost always do takeout and eat in my car anyhow as there might not be as much room at lunch time. You can take it to go and still choose to sit down inside if you want. Ordered a sub. Makers heated it up but I didn't ask for it heated and it didn't say hit sub on the sign. Order AND PAID for another one. Gave the first one to the cashier to throw out. They heated everything in the microwave and its all like rubber by the time it gets where it need to be. Sandwich had fried onion petals on it. Turns out they weren't homemade but jalapeño spicy ones. Allergic and sitting in the ER right now waiting for a second episode shot. Called the shop.and they said I should have asked. Why? It said onions and homemade food. Besides she couldn't find the box they came in so how would she have known. Decent food terrible staff. Stay away. read more

It's just bad. I've ordered from here a couple times and nothing has really been that good. The chicken finger subs are always dry, the buffalo chicken wrap had a weird taste to it, and they don't really have a menu it's just random items on giant cards spread throughout the store. I was given a pickle with my last sub and I swear they are pickling in water. I could buy a fresh cucumber from the store and it would have more flavor than their pickles. Seeing how everything usually costs around $15, I'd look elsewhere read more

Had The Freshman and was ok. Definitely microwaved to "melt" the cheese and the chicken cutlets were a little rubbery.

Just like an old school Italian New York deli. I love it there seriously the people are great! The owner is super cool and the employees are always working hard with a good attitude enjoying life. Always loved the quality of the sandwiches in the past, but yesterday we were disappointed. The Pilgrim was all stuffing, hardly and turkey. It used to be packed with turkey! And the chicken cordon blue sandwich was basically a frozen chicken cutlet thawed in the microwave, not crispy at all, and disappointing. I was surprised because they weren't even busy! I thoroughly enjoy J's deli! Walking in, I'll admit that you can be overwhelmed with the options. There are tons of sandwiches listed along the walls in huge font to help you decide what you want; but then they have even more options on a printed menu by the register. Lunch combos are amazing: great, huge sandwich, a 20 oz drink and a small bag of chips for $13! Can't beat that deal. I LOVE their Chicken Parm, so that's my go to. Can't go wrong with a perfectly toasted roll, just enough sauce to coat, the exact amount of cheese, and all with a wonderfully fried yet moist chicken breast. My partner is obsessed with the Reuben though. I'll admit, I'm someone who enjoys sauerkraut, but not a lot. I've always found Reubens good, but very tangy/sour so never really my cup of tea. As my partner claims, J's Reuben is one of the best there is. It's so well balanced and not too punchy with the fermented flavor. Even I would order and recommend it! All of their sandwiches are good, and you really can't go wrong with whatever you get. I have yet to try desserts or other sides, but they always look good! read more

Js deli has the best sandwiches ever. I can't even order from other sandwich places because I know they'll never hold up to a Patriot (Turkey, bacon, cheese and honey dijon) from Js. So why the 3 stars? Only because the location is not so convenient. It's in a plaza that originally makes you think it's inside of the gas station (it isn't). And when you go in and choose to eat there, there are only 4 tables and it gets crowded since the line goes up against the tables. It's really a shame they closed the Cumberland one, that had plenty of seating. Honestly, I'm surprised they closed that one because all of Cumberland goes there and even the neighboring Lincoln and Attleboro residents go to that js too. It's very missed in Cumberland. I used to order from Js Atleast once a week and now I'm lucky to go once every 3 months since this location is such a drive. read more

Excellent delivery and sandwich shop. Been here more than once and I definitely recommend them. I usually get the Italian grinder but I've gotten the tuna sub too. Lots of delicious, fresh ingredients. When you get a sub there everything is fresh like you would make it at home. They get a decent crowd here and its no wonder. read more

It's always a treat, never gets old, and they've got such a massive & extraordinarily gutbusting menu that I'll probably never work my way through all of it. First and foremost this review is highly based off the fact that I felt like Ray Lewis was preaching to us while we waited for our food and I loved it! The deli had their tv on a sports station where Ray Lewis was being honored and his acceptances speech was 5 stars! So the facts that they left it on... they are alright in my book! The place is clean, but I am pretty sure there is no public restroom (just head into the gas station next door.) We all got sandwiches to take into a local concert. We had three sandwiches and some French fries. We waited about 10 minutes for our food and no complaints! The bread is legit. Large, soft and bakery style. I had a steak and cheese. Not the best but tasty and still warm when we got to the venue! Overall I would do this again for tailgating. read more

At the start of the pandemic, we used to order from them all the time. We're close to both of their locations so we'd get takeout or delivery from them. It was very convenient while being isolated and stuck in our house for so long. Then as time went on, service got a bit worse. They messed up our order a couple times and skimped on the curly fries a few times. There was one day they were closed but didn't notify anyone online and I ordered online - and got a call from them that they were closed due to understaffing. Okay, great. They said they'd refund my order but never did and I had to make a claim with my credit card to get my money back. Now, i'm hesitant to order bc of these things. The people who work at the Smithfield deli are incredibly ignorant. On a 90+ degree day we brought out 7lb puppy in to order sandwiches to go, and one of the employees yelled from behind the counter to "get that outta here" and pointed to the door. The puppy was laying in my daughters arms not making a sound. So rude.....I will NEVER go to this place again...plus it's overpriced for what you get. read more

First time customer and I was impressed. I got the Heatwave, a sub with buffalo chicken chunks, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and ranch dressing. My friend got a similar meal, but in chicken salad mode in a wrap. The sub roll was fresh, the buffalo chicken sauce tasty, and the chick was high quality. The sub was big and filling - had to throw half of it in the fridge for a meal later. The wrap was about half the size of the sub. We split the sriracha honey fries, which tasted great, but weren't crispy enough. I think they rushed the fries order since I ordered those after the sandwiches. It's an expensive deli. Fries $5, sub $8, wrap $7.50. So, based on the food and customer service I'll be back, but not often because of price and excessive portions. I witnessed another customer getting an Italian sub, and I think I'll go with that next. His sub rollwas toasted nicely (dark toasted edges), and full of good looking ingredients, topped off with banana peppers. read more

I ordered a Meatball sandwich with grated cheese from this location, come to find out they dont have grated cheese from a shaker and put provolone on my sandwich. I reordered and went back to the location. I explained I have a cheese allergy while there and then I received what I thought was a remade sandwich only to find out the remake was the same as my original just with the cheese scraped off. I have an allergy to dairy, even the small amounts that they didn't scrape off would give me a reaction. How do you not have grated cheese and foods like Calzones and other Italian foods ? When you can tolerate grated cheese as someone who is allergic to dairy even that little bit is enjoyable. Did me wrong today Js Deli of Smithfield, probably lost this customer I'm sorry to say.
