Trying a new coffee place in Smithfield!
    Katie C.

I just tried Starry Night Café for the first time, and it's one of those small local spots that instantly makes you feel at home. The space is intimate and cozy, yet they've managed to fit plenty of seating without it feeling cramped. It has that warm, welcoming neighborhood vibe that's perfect for winter. Their bakery case immediately caught my attention -- croissants, muffins, and snowballs (very on-season with Christmas right around the corner!) all looking fresh and delicious. I ordered the Rhode Islander Latte, made with classic coffee syrup. I asked how they recommend having it, and they suggested iced with milk -- and it was perfect. Smooth, sweet, and exactly what you'd expect from a coffee-syrup latte done right. For food, I had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant, and it was excellent. You can tell everything is made with care, and the whole place feels like it might be run by a small, tight-knit team -- maybe even a family. The service was super friendly, and I even overheard someone ordering their special brioche calzones they offer on weekends. I didn't get one this time, but I definitely will on my next visit. The café is tucked into a little plaza and could easily go unnoticed if you didn't know it was there, but it's absolutely worth seeking out. My large iced coffee and croissant sandwich came to $17, which felt totally reasonable for such a tasty breakfast -- and service with a smile. I was on my way to an appointment at Ten Four Beauty Studio just a few doors down, and I'm already planning to stop back in next time I'm here. This spot is a hidden gem -- I'll definitely be back!

I started to see Starry Night Cafe pop up in social media and once I saw that the cafe had a "The Starry Night" mural I knew I had to visit. "The Starry Night" is one of the most famous paintings by Vincent van Gogh and I am a huge fan of his artwork. Starry Night Cafe is run by a mother-and-daughter duo (Nancy Vendetti and Mia Sepe) and opened the coffee and bakery shop the second week of August. The cafe is in a complex with other businesses and there are plenty of parking spots. There are even a few designated spots for a quick in and out to the cafe. I visited Starry Night Cafe on Sunday morning around 9:00am and there was a short queue. The "The Starry Night" mural is definitely one to be seen. There are also some really cute signs and other Vincent van Gogh paintings with a black cat. Inside there are a few countertop seats, tables with chairs, a couch, and two cozy chairs. Outside there was a table with chairs. I ordered a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on croissant and an iced Coconut Cream Pie. The Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on croissant was very very good and very very satisfying. The croissant was toasted and flaky. The iced Coconut Cream Pie was creamy and smooth. My husband ordered a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on bagel and an iced The Rhode Islander. The Rhode Islander is a coffee milk latte with house made coffee syrup. He enjoyed his bagel and drink. The sausage, egg, and cheese came out steaming. The staff member who took our order was friendly and doing a great job. The daughter was making drinks and helping with customers, while the mother was preparing food orders. There was also a selection of bakery items and we ordered some to go home. The sfogliatelle was very flaky. I am so glad we got to try Starry Night Cafe, but the prices are a little steep.

Love this coffee shop. From the decor to the coffee, it's all great. A huge replica of the Van Gogh's Starry Night is paint on the wall. They also have other art displayed. Ordered the Black Cat iced latte and a coffee cake muffin which were both delicious. The baked sweets are fresh from the back. Family owned/ran business. All the staff were friendly and pleased to help with anything. Definitely will be back.

Starry Night Cafe is a new favorite of mine in my rotation of cafes/coffee shops. After two visits, I absolutely love this little shop. There is some seating inside, but not much so you may have to pick up in go during the morning rush. The inside is also decorated wonderfully with my favorite painting by Vincent Van Gogh - The Starry Night. They have a rotation of sweet and savory pastries. You may want to keep an eye out on their instagram to see what they have because they sellout quick. The cafe also has a great selection of coffees and lattes, including great local favorites like coffee syrup, fluffernutter, and s'mores flavors. The shop also sells baked goods from gingersnaps and local maple syrups. The staff is also friendly and efficient.

We stopped into Starry Night Bakery on a whim, and we are so happy we did! The cafe is adorable and so is the mother-daughter team running the place! This is a great, cozy place to grab coffee with a friend! They informed us that they have only been open for a couple weeks and we couldn't believe it. They seemed really established and the food and drinks they were serving were already on point. I had a latte with a homemade coffee syrup in it and my boyfriend had a cold brew with a homemade French toast syrup in it. We both ordered bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on their homemade biscuits - but we were extra lucky and got to try their cheddar biscuit which they were debuting that weekend. It was absolutely delicious. I am a total sauce-girl, so I asked what the sauce options would be for my sandwich. They didn't have ketchup yet, but they did let me try this roasted red pepper sauce that they were playing with and it was out of this world. It had a little heat, had a little sweet, and had a great garlic flavor - who doesn't love garlic?! I really wish them success. I'd love to see them grow and turn into a coffee shop staple in Smithfield. They definitely have what it takes!

Really good sandwich. I will not come back because of the cost of 2 lattes--both 16oz, was $17.55. So, I am not unfamiliar with alt. milk up-charges, but, if a nut milk is +$1, it would be preferable for that information to be stated on the menu, and it was not. To me, it is frustrating for a business to not list additional charges, and I think most consumers would agree. About the drinks: when my sister ordered her latte, the barista, who was amicable, suggested oat milk. My sister ordered the chagaccino. I tried it and it was earthy. I ordered the french toast latte with almond milk.

What an adorable place! The sitting area is super cute and comfy with art and kitty details everywhere. I ordered the chaga latte and hoped for the best. I don't like anything that's too sweet, but this was just right. I also tried the pistachio snowball cookies, and they were delicious! The star of the show, however, was the bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit. These house made biscuits are absolutely perfect! The service was beyond friendly and helpful. The ladies there are so sweet and you can tell everyone's a regular because they know folks by name and chat about their lives. I'm really excited about coming back to this place very soon.

Cute new cafe in Smithfield! I ordered their special of the month, an iced Twix latte and it was delicious. I also got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit. Their biscuit was so good! Can't wait to come back and check out their other drinks.

What a cute place! The staff was really friendly and super excited about just recently opening. I had the French Toast Patte and it was sooo good! My egg & cheese on ciabatta was simple and tasted really fresh. They had a good selection of bakery items - you could see them baking more fresh items behind the counter too. I'll definitely come back! (Also super good timing, a month before school starts!)

Bacon, egg, and cheese, with a red pepper spread on a fresh croissant and a cold brew. Amazing!

I've been wanting to try this café and finally had the opportunity. It's really cute inside, the staff is super friendly, and the food is amazing. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! The croissant was so fresh and the cold brew was probably one of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to try other items on the menu. This will become my new favorite spot!

New Best Cafe in Ri!?! As someone who lived in Providence and was spoiled by the abundance of Cafes in town, moving to Smithfield was quite a shock. Besides Brewology, Dunkin, and Starbucks Smithfield is sorely lacking a local cafe. When I saw the Sign for Starry Night Cafe I was immediately excited. I drive by Starry Night everyday on my way to work and I eagerly awaited the day the doors wood open. When they finally did I was not disappointed. The shop has a very cozy welcoming interior with an abundance of delicious looking pastries lining the cabinet. The owners Nancy and Mia are so welcoming that I look forward to coming by and visiting for my morning coffee in the morning. The coffee is inspired and all the specials are worth trying to find your favorite. Lastly the thing that sets Starry Night Apart is the pastry many Cafes will order there's from a local bakery, that's not the case with Starry Night. Nancy bakes all the wonderful pastry fresh each morning ensuring both a splendid cup of coffee paired with a delectable treat. If you're in the area there is no reason not to come try Starry Night!

I had been wanting to try this place for the longest but since it is a cute little truck that travels around the state, I hadn't had the opportunity to organically come across it - until this moment. Although a lot of their drink options sounded delicious, I went with the iced Maria Maria. I got the opportunity to chat a bit with one of the Marias and she was very kind, along with the other two team members. The prices are average, with my drink coming out to about $6. One disclaimer is that I don't drink coffee much, so I can't speak about the quality of the coffee taste but overall I loved the drink, mostly because it wasn't too strong or sweet but did have a very creamy taste. In addition, they do add a Maria cookie, which is very nostalgic for me. Although the line was very long, they were very efficient with just 3 people and do get our orders at a timely manner. I am looking forward to the next time I see them again to try more of their stuff. They do post their schedule of where they will be on their instagram page at the start of each week.

I ended up going twice in the same week to the one in Smithfield, but l am curious to see if quality changes from one location to the other. Anyways, they have a good selection of flavors including: sesame, the works, jalapeno cheddar, three cheese, pepperoni and cheddar, plain, cinnamon sugar, and from what I have seen online, they do offer seasonal flavors which I am very excited for. Each one cost $1.50, or you could get half a dozen for $7.00 and a baker's dozen (13) for $14.00 which is one of the best deals around. The first time I went, I bought a dozen since / was taking them to a brunch and the second time I ordered half a dozen. One thing that immediately sets them apart from other bagel shops I've been to is their attention to detail which I am huge on. When I purchased the dozen, I requested one cinnamon sugar and they wrapped it in parchment paper so the sweetness wouldn't get on any of the other bagels. So far, I have only tasted the jalapeno cheddar and the everything bagel. I love that they're loaded with flavor, the bread is soft, not airy but also doesn't feel too dense, it is not dry, and the dough is slightly elastic-y which I love. I think a good way to measure how good a bagel is is to eat it without toasting it. This one passed with flying colors. The first time I came, l was a little confused as to where this place was because the GPS led me to the back of the building but did find my way after driving around the building. The second time I came here, 1 realized they have a drive-thru window which is very convenient. There were about 4 cars ahead of me, but within 5 minutes I was on my way home. I would highly recommend coming here!
