    Falafel

Sonia's Deli has always been one of my favorite sandwich joints and now they have a closer Smithfield location which I believe has been open for close to a year. The staff is consistently friendly, efficient, and great at handling orders quickly. Sonia's has a counter-service setup but there's also ample seating available. The Atomic Bomb sandwich is my favorite: grilled chicken, Vermont cheddar cheese, bacon, and a garlic pesto mayo on a French baguette. Sonia's ingredients always taste fresh and delicious.

Sonia's newest location has opened in Smithfield. Very exciting. The food has always been great I made my own bowl today and it's was delicious. You can pick your base, protein, toppings, and dressings. They also offer lots of sandwiches and wraps. There is also a breakfast menu. Seatings is available inside and there is lots of parking. Service was very friendly.

Sonia's is great! We stopped by today for lunch and had a nice time. This location is in a strip mall and has plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is spacious and counter service with plenty of options. There was a multitude of employees and our orders came out very quickly. For my meal I made my own bowl. This came with rice pilaf, a mix of grape leaves and falafel, tzatziki and hummus, along with pickled vegetables, pickled turnips, tomatoes, feta, and Kalamata olives. Everything tasted fresh and of a great quality. My only minor criticism is that I found the falafel to be a bit dry. However, with that amount of food for $14 Sonia's is a steal and I highly recommend you try it out here.

We got takeout Sonia's subs and they were delicious. The chicken was fresh and juicy, the bread was always incredible and the sub was overall very delightful. Can't wait to go back!

A weekly spot! The grilled eggplant special is so delicious. The bread is always fresh and food is made fast.

The art on the walls are also a great touch as well as the sitting area with backgammon available to play. I also love the food and drinks they have in the grocery section. I do wish they had more selections to choose from though. In terms of more options of Russian/Armenian food like deli meat, dairy products, smoked fish, fruits/veggies, candy, cookies, juice... The prices here are steep, it's a big reason as to why I don't shop here often. It's a shame because I would love to support an Armenian business.

The staff is warm & engaging. My go-to is the supreme gyro: perfectly seasoned gyro meat, juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, red onions, feta cheese & banana peppers topped with creamy tzatziki sauce & wrapped in warm Greek flatbread. Every bite is the perfect mix of savory, tangy & fresh. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality & prepared with love! They also have a wonderful specialty market filled with great spices, specialty ingredients & unique items you won't always find elsewhere. Be sure to try the halva - they carry it in several different flavors & it is yummi & unique. The baklava is also outstanding. Both are the perfect sweet treat to take home after an amazing meal! There's something quietly special about Jana Bakery and Grill, the kind of place that doesn't try…read moretoo hard, but still leaves a lasting impression. FOOD: Now the food, this is where things shine. Everything we had was delicious and mouthwatering, especially paired with the yogurt drink, which added that perfect tangy balance to the meal. I went with a lamb dish that was rich and flavorful, exactly what you hope for when ordering something like that. We also shared the Ajarian khachapuri, and it was easily the fan favorite at the table. Warm, cheesy, indulgent, the one of those dishes that gets everyone leaning in for "just one more bite." The only small note for me was the pita bread. I personally would've loved it warm, but it may very well be traditional to serve it the way they do, so not a dealbreaker. SERVICE: The service matched that energy perfectly. Attentive without hovering, smooth timing between dishes, and an overall sense that the staff genuinely cares about your experience. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt forgotten just solid, thoughtful hospitality. AMBIANCE: From the moment you walk in, the ambiance pulls you in. The warm wooden interior gives off this cozy, almost transportive feeling -- like you've stepped into someone's home tucked away in the Caucasus mountains. It's intimate, relaxed, and makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. CONCLUSION: Overall, this is the kind of spot you leave thinking about later. I'd absolutely come back, especially to grab takeout and put friends onto a place that feels both authentic and a little bit like a hidden gem.

When you first walk in, it's a bit quiet and you have to wait for someone to come from the back to greet you, but be patient because once you're seated, service is attentive and available whenever you need it. There are lots of rustic-looking tables, which give it a sort of homey feel, and some tables can fit 12+, so they can definitely accommodate large groups. My colleagues always get something different, but I get the same thing every time: the grilled boneless pork shoulder and it is so good. The pork shoulder is a bit fatty and comes out juicy and flavorful from the grill - droolworthy. It comes with sauerkraut, but it's not your typical sauerkraut; it's more like a mild slaw with just enough acid to cut through the fatty pork. Also comes with your choice of side and sauce. The garlic toom is the only option in my opinion (of course, they have others), but get ready to have kickin' breath for the rest of the day. Others have gotten the lamb tongue, lentil soup, falafel, beef shawarma, borscht, pelmeni, eggplant rolls, and they have all been hits. Don't think I would ever come out of my way to this restaurant if I didn't know about it, but it's totally worth the trip!

The woman at the register (short hair) was rushed, dismissive, and frankly disrespectful. When I tried to place my order, she seemed irritated, rolled her eyes when I misspoke, and told me to "stop confusing" her. She also made comments like, "I know you've been to other places--my place is different," instead of helping guide me through the menu. It created a very uncomfortable and tense environment. I left feeling anxious, which is not something you should experience after a simple food order. In contrast, a gentleman working there was kind and professional, which I appreciated. To make matters worse, I was not given a receipt despite asking, and I believe I may have been overcharged. I ordered a Greek salad with added chicken and a chicken shawarma panini, and my total came to $50. My mother's order was supposed to be removed and paid separately, but without a receipt, I have no way to confirm whether that was done correctly. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works toward creating a more respectful and welcoming environment for customers.
