We ordered through Grub Hub and idk if it's because we ordered before they close but the Nachos were so well done that you couldn't take them apart. For the sake of the quality of the product, nachos shouldn't be an option for delivery if you can't even take them apart. We ordered Kids cheeseburger slidera for my toddler and we got half of a regular cheeseburger which wasn't cooked well done. The cabin burger was so rare and we ordered well done. The Thirsty Beaver is probably a great choice for anyone looking to get a couple of drinks with friends and have some fun, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for dinner or date night. Unfortunately we went out on a night we didn't plan to drink so I can't comment on the beer quality or selection, which may be this place's bread and butter, so if you're looking for good beer check some other reviews out before taking my word. The primary reason this place came in at two stars was a combination of lots of small things, no one thing on it's own would normally be noticeable but the quality of the appetizers and entrees weren't quite average. The burgers and specialty sandwiches had disappointing flavor profiles, despite having names and descriptions that would make your mouth water. The staff here seemed somewhat non-responsive and aloof once we placed our initial drink orders. Despite the issues above, this place definitely seems to have a lively environment and may suite "a night out on the town" visit more than a double date looking for good food. read more

Honestly we came here super hungry but we're definitely not impressed. The pork rind nachos were not good, halfway between eating dirt and bacon. My friends all got burgers and said they were sub par. My husband got the blue cheese bacon burger that was disappointing in quality considering the ingredients. I got the pong which was a special chicken pesto wrap which didn't have much flavor, the French fries didn't have any seasoning. To top that off the top of the salt shaker was not clean and absolutely disgusting. The ketchup tasted and looked like marinara sauce! The service was super slow, appetizer took forever considering it was their "nacho" night, and almost seemed like the waitress was giving attitude. After driving from CT my boyfriend and I were looking forward to a late lunch. We arrived here and it was empty, we were sat quickly and then ordered. Our food came fairly quickly. I ordered the log rolls as an appetizer and the chicken wings and fries and my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The log rolls weren't good, I'm assuming it was their attempt at a Philly cheesesteak roll, it was loaded with mushrooms, peppers and onions but no meat?? The wings were slimy and undercooked. My boyfriends buffalos chicken sandwich was mediocre at best. The icing on the cake was the taste of the water, it tasted like dumpster juice. This place really exceeded my expectations. Rustic log cabin feel giving it a laid back vibe. Drink specials, live entertainment on some nights, outdoor seating area. We came in for lunch and I had the GF turkey BLT which came on a flatbread with baked French fries. Sandwich was generous in size and a good amount of fries came with the order. Turkey was not deli stuff. Carved turkey here folks. Good stuff. Food was good and a great place for families with outdoor seating with games (we didn't go inside so can't review that area). Waitstaff could use some training especially with some good brews on the menu. We ordered a fruit sour and Pilsner only to be served an IPA and pretty weak lager style. After letting the waitress know they brought the wrong beers, they argued with us and gave a ton of excuses when all we wanted was the beer we ordered. Ultimately, they finally brought the sour and sadly just retrieved the lager beer they had taken back from us. That was pretty disappointing. Is OBSESSED too strong of a word for this place? Great food, great staff, great place! Kelly H. and I flew into Providence on our way to staying in Boston for the weekend. Starving, Kelly H. desperately Yelped a place to eat. We landed on the Thirsty Beaver, which is only about 5 miles from the airport! There was plenty of parking in the lot, and the building is hard to miss - a log cabin on the side of a busy road! We walked in and grabbed 2 seats at the bar. Lauren was our bartender, and she immediately felt like an old friend. She gave us great service, recommendations, and lots of laughs! She is a great bartender - she seemed to know everyone by name, which was awesome. I got a grilled cheese with pesto and a side of waffle fries. It was SOOOO good. My sister and I decided that we would come back in on our last day for lunch before leaving back to Orlando. We were excited to see Lauren again, and had yet another delicious meal and drinks. You also get a free "beaver shot" when you check-in with Yelp, and Lauren made us some kind of yummy fruity thing. Yummm. All of the other staff was very friendly as well, and since I always make a music video for every vacation, I had to have Lauren and the beaver mascot in it! Maybe my mind is just in the gutter, but...when someone told me the name of this place, I thought it was...um...questionable. Perhaps it is just me, sooooo. I digress. So I went here for a going-away party for a dear friend. It has a great patio, but unfortunately the weather was iffy so there were no tables set up on this humid summer evening. BUT, they have nightly specials, and Mondays are $2 domestic beer night (and I am talking drafts)! Really? Yes please! So armed with a frosty draft beer that cost me less than a bottle of water at the movies, we moved onto food. I got the Wild Turkey burger, which had fresh mozzerella, tomato, red onion, spinach, and balsamic with a turkey burger on a wheat bun. It was really good! Was it the best burger I have ever had? No, but it did hit the spot for sure. The standout for food, though, was one of the appetizers we got. It was called the Knightsville "log roll" (aka eggroll). It is an eggroll wrapper stuffed with Italian cold cuts, cheeses and roasted peppers. I could have made a meal just out of those. And I should mention our server Brooke. We were here for a large part of the night - I am talking like 7 at night until almost midnight - and our server was fast, friendly, and very gracious. Three stars because I just wish the music was a wee bit softer so I didn't have to yell for my friends to hear me. We stopped here last night for a quick bit to eat and a couple of beers. It was a bit loud but it is a bar atmosphere so it's expected to be. There is a good size menu not just pub food. My husband got the burger. They ask you how you want it cooked and it came out medium like he asked for. He said it was very good and juicy. They charged him .50 for the cheese; .50 for the lettuce and .50 for the tomato but no charge for the pickles on it! Total price was 9.50 and it was of a good size. Why not just charge the 9.50 for a cheese burger? All those extra charges are a bit crazy! I got what they call the Lumberjack. It's a shaved steak sandwich with jalapeño peppers and pepper jack cheese. If you like spicy it is for you! The person waiting on us asked me if I wanted fries with it I side no. He told me I could get another side a salad or something. I picked a salad he then asked my husband who went with the fries. I was charged 1.50 for my salad. My husband wasn't charged for his fries. I have no idea if that was a cost to change to a salad or if it didn't come with a side? It was the smallest salad I have ever seen ! We stopped by Thirsty Beaver out of convenience. Restaurant is located on a busy Cranston street between a Honey Dew and a gas station. It looks like a cottage, like something you would run into in NH...in Cranston, it seemed out of place. Inside...wooden tables, wooden chairs, huge wooden beams (which I liked), plastic looking light fixtures made to look like logs, and cartoon beavers...on every wall, as well as over the door and the parking lot. I get it, the restaurant has a theme...but the overkill made it just look wicked tacky. But hey...if the food and drinks are good, what do I care? The place was dead, maybe 5 people at the bar. The waitress demeanor looked like she would rather stab herself in the eye than be there. The waitress greeted us and said that the special was Make your Own Burger for $8. I looked through the specials and regular menu but could not find it. So I asked what is available- is there something I can look at to see what the toppings are. She said - just everything you see on the menu, you can pick whatever you see for $8. Egh, OK. So I started to assemble my burger....oh wait, that is extra $1.50....oh wait that is an extra $1....oh that will be $0.50 for every additional topping.....wtf....then put the details on the menu so I can see what I am ordering. I gave up on the burger and just ordered an app - fried pickles. They were okay, kind of soggy but not bad. My friend wanted something healthy - aha! Phoenix Ave Log - Grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, spinach and gouda cheese filling, bacon jalapeño sauce. Sounds pretty awesome...what was delivered was a massive, oily, soggy eggroll. Deep fried, soggy mess. I cannot express enough how oily it was. She couldn't eat it. We should have made sure that it was a sandwich, but nothing on the menu would point at the fact that it was fried, or that it was an 'egg roll' but we should have asked. I can imagine this being a good spot for a guy night out, beers and finger food. Waitresses and bartenders are cute and nice. I heard they have some live music on weekend. This was such a find. Great craft beer draft selection, food was great, prices reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ONLY thing I found really weird is that when you ask for their draft list, the server gives you a handwritten list from her waitress pad. They should really print out the list and have it at the tables. Food we ordered and loved: Mac and cheese log roll Chicken wings honey sriracha flavor Kids fish sticks Kids chicken fingers Burger (forget the name) with mushrooms I'm a bit picky about food temperature and all food came out hot and the burger was a solid medium rare, as requested. The only food thing I wouldn't recommend is the ghost pepper sauce. I got a side of it to try and it wasn't that hot and it wasn't that tasty. I don't recommend it. This bar is definitely different with the whole lumberjack theme going on but I dig it. They have a really great beer selection and plenty of mixed drinks to choose from. Great atmosphere, great staff and even greater food! I had the garlic parmesan wings, they were overall favorite (and trust me i love some wings) so to say they were the best, was def the truth! I also had their version of mozzarella sticks, which are bite sized and come in an abundance, they were amazing! I also had their burger and tater tots, which was phenomenal. The only thing Good about this place is the name. Our friends mentioned wanting to try it out, so when we were in town we decided to check it out. Upon walking in, it was smaller than I expected but fairly busy. I assume for the cheap beer? We all got drinks and appetizers. I got the big bad wolf and it was eh. My friend got an Eastern Eagle or something and it tasted mostly of sour mix. The guys got beer. We ordered the mozzarella sticks that are named after Justin Beber (um, who thought that was a good idea?!) and nachos. Both items tasted pretty good but the presentation of the mozzarella sticks was strange--the sticks are in a bowl of marinara sauce. The nachos were big! This place is kind of ridiculous but in an amazing way. Yes the name is silly, they have a million tvs playing sports, it is super bright inside, etc. But the food is fantastic and really cheap for how good it is. Nothing super fancy but above average pub fare. They have homemade pork rinds! And the craft beer selection is honestly one of the best in the state and are wicked cheap compared to providence prices. Great service as well. I left the family at home for this one. I've been hearing about this place from friends who venture out after work and don a huge beaver mask while downing shots. With places on Atwood ave coming and going over the years - it's good to see something succeeding. Plus, they stick with a Cranston theme with menu options like "The Elmwood Ave" and "Meshanicut Lake Dip". Venturing in for the first time - I was surprised to see nearly all community seating. Interesting use of the space and it definately helped maximize the seating. But this is about wings - forget the room. With a handful of selections available, I took my little corner of the bar and ordered the house buffalo (no levels of heat available) and the garlic butter jalapeño I had seen all over Facebook. Wings came out fast which is both exciting and disheartening. I knew right away with the size if the wing and the speed they came out that they would be undercooked. Unfortunately I was right. The skin was soft and a good amount of fat has yet to render. The wing was a great size and the meat was juicy - but the skin left a lot to be desired. The buffalo was simple. It was uninspired. Franks and butter has been done a million times. Even at the world famous Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY I was shocked that my pilgrimage to the birthplace of the buffalo wing would end in a disheartened "meh". Go to any bar, order the wings - this is what you get. I was intrigued by the garlic butter jalapeño - but again was let down. While they were sauced to a T, it lacked flavor. The jalapeños added no heat and barely any flavor. The garlic butter was oily and didn't hold a flavor of either. They were served with a cup of marinara sauce which was a nice touch - but didn't make up for the lack of other flavors. Maybe it's my palate preference, but I almost felt they would be better if I salted them. I can picture returning to the Beaver with a group of friends for some drinks - but I'd leave the wings off of the table. On a positive note - the French fries were tasty and you can tell the oil is taken care of. Long, thick and well seasoned. read more

Great place to get a drink and wings. Went on a Tuesday they had .50 cent wings, lots of flavors to choose from and were so meety. They also have kick the keg, I didn't partake since it was a beer that I didn't like. If you do drink this it $2.00 a beer. We dined here tonight and ended up getting the wing special we ordered at 7:41 did not receive our food until after 9pm as a waitress I understood it was busy , but no acknowledgement or apology was a little upsetting. Each time we ordered a beer it took an unsettling amount of time to receive it. The angry orchards we ordered took over 15 minutes and tasted settled when we received them but the inattentive waitress never checked back to see how they were. We asked for the check along with the last round assuming it would take as long as everything else did and we weren't wrong we waited over 20 minutes to get the bill before I went inside to ask for it in which I was told to go outside she would bring it and waited another 10 minutes. We kept hearing about this place and being a Cranston native, I had to check it out. Upon entering the establishment, the place was well decorated and pretty unique. The bar was huge and it was pretty busy on a Thursday night. It wasn't overly crowded which was cool since we found a table for 3. I had the PBJ beer which was good. I'd like to preface this review by saying that if you like bars, cool vibes, nice wooden decor with an outdoor seating, and you're from Cranston, this is definitely the place to go! The decor is really unique, with the aforementioned outdoor seating, fairly sizable indoor seating area, and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The food, unfortunately, was really not awe-inspiring. The pulled pork and mac n cheese sandwich didn't really jump out at me, and it felt like the pasta shells served more as a gimmick than texture or taste supplementation. The fried American style eggrolls were also too heavy on the starch and really salty. The wings were very sweet and the flavors were fairly indistinguishable, whether I got buffalo wings or BBQ wings. The beer selection is decent, and the mixed drinks were surprisingly good, especially for bar standards. Overall, I really wanted to like this place, and I did like the staff, the decor/ambiance. Ok, let's see if this review gets filtered. The food at the beaver is delicious and the beer selection is better than average. They have a unique selection on tap for a smaller location. I absolutely love the nachos and I highly suggest you order them if you happen to visit this place. What keeps me going back is the fact that they have out door seating which is great when you want to unwind after work. There seems to be no real specfic age group that visits the beaver during the afternoon rush. There are plenty of TV's throughout the bar to catch the game while you are throwing a few back. The atmosphere is meant to be country western but it's almost like they started to run with the idea then fell short of following through with it. Not a good time, after waiting almost 30 mins for a steak sandwich it comes out like someone was given 39 seconds to put it together. Stale bread was tried to be passed off by toasting .. (born at night not last night) . When im paying 13 bucks for a sandwich and waiting almost 30 mins should it have to be made again? So then it comes back out looking only marginaly better first bite? I think your experience here depends on the type of environment you prefer. If you want a younger, louder, and more hip crowd---go on a Friday night when we went. We really wanted to relax and be able to talk, which we couldn't really do because it was so loud. Also, parking was a problem when we arrived--the whole lot was full. I think the food is your standard American-fare--nothing spectacular. I don't think we'd come back, but we are getting older, haha. However, if you are looking for a fun night out with music, games, and drinks--you'd probably like it here. read more
