I think your experience here depends on the type of environment you prefer. If you want a younger, louder, and more hip crowd---go on a Friday night when we went. We really wanted to relax and be able to talk, which we couldn't really do because it was so loud. Also, parking was a problem when we arrived--the whole lot was full. I think the food is your standard American-fare--nothing spectacular. I don't think we'd come back, but we are getting older, haha. However, if you are looking for a fun night out with music, games, and drinks--you'd probably like it here. read more

Great little place to get together with friends for some trivia, karaoke, catch a game and a drink. Service is always great and it's a great crowd, a little bit of everyone. It's also very clean which is very important. read more

A really great casual atmosphere filled with a very kind, prompt waitstaff made this restaurant stand out amongst others of a similar category. The owner 's friendly attitude and presence certainly was impressive. The menu is very extensive both in the drink area, as well as the food. What is really wonderful is that the menu offers a great array of salads, grilled chicken, and the Cranston Girl wrap for the health food population. And then there is the abundance of the really, yummy foods like the "Justin Beaver" Mozzarella bites!!! It is definitely a fun, relaxing place to frequent with friends. read more

I finally got around to trying the Thirsty Beaver and I have to say, it was great. I only had the wings, but they were really tasty. Siracha maple brown glazed wings. They were fresh and had a great flavor. I am excited to go back there again and try other items on their menu. Service was good as well. read more

Good beer selection, lots to choose from here including some great craft beers. The food is where this place shines though. I got the lumberjack cheesesteak with some of the ghost chili cheese they have on a few menu items and was full for most of the day! My folks loved their burgers as well. I'd come back to try plenty of other stuff here for sure. Only knocking off a star because it's just not my kind of hang - a cluster of douchey frat bro-types seem to be the regulars over there. It's kind of a sports bar though, so that one's on me. Lots of effort went into the interior, it's a cool looking joint. Worth checking out! read more

Stopped by yesterday....the staff was nice.....the food was good......the beer list was great BUT the flies made it impossible to enjoy them both! We were constantly swatting them away from our food and drinks. read more

The Grizzly Burger was good. It was a beef patty with pulled pork on top, onion rings, pickles and BBQ sauce. The bun held together well, the pulled pork was tasty but the burger patty was a little too well done since I ordered it medium. I had the sweet fries I also tried Mad Dog Bourbon. They have apple, blueberry, cinnamon, spiced, peach and regular. I had the regular Mad Dog Bourbon. Wasn't to crazy about the taste, didn't have much of a kick. Seemed too watered down for my taste. read more

Love both locations in Cranston and Smithfield. A little bright if you're looking for a bar atmosphere, but the food is consistent and they offer a good variety of good beer. Great vibe and have had great service every time at the Beaver. read more

Drive by daily to take my daughter to dance. Stopped in with my children ages 9 & 12 for a quick bite at 7:00 pm. Waitress Terressa did not provide an itemized bill, $60.00; after providing the bill she left the bldg. via back door. Addressed the situation with "manager", told to "GET LOST". No worries, we will and so will everyone we know or run into in person or on Facebook. Thanks social media, you've helped us "out" the crooks at Thirsty Beaver. read more

Was just here last night. The food was decent, I got buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer and a chicken sandwich for an entree. The buffalo chicken dip was very good and probably the only thing I would go back for. The waiter wasn't very attentive, he didn't give refills on drinks or even check up on my table and I had to wait a long time for the check. read more

Dress up in plaid for extra fun! This cabin on the street has character. We went here for a yelp elite event, and I was impressed by the spread they put out for us-- Well let me rephrase. I was impressed by the amount of food they put out. I was somewhat disappointed by most of it because it was either breaded or had cheese on it. However, one of the employees ( possibly the manager?) heard about our allergies and informed us of the gluten free pizza they had available, and brought us out two of them on the house. It was very good, and if anything the customer service was top notch. If I was ever in that area again I'd stop and grab a drink and a snack at the bar. I really liked the log cabin look. read more

Another reviewer said this place is ridiculous but in an amazing way...yeah, that covers it. You can tell they don't really take themselves too seriously. It's definitely a place where you can bring a big group of people to celebrate. It's bright and open inside. The bf and I were two of about 7 when we walked in on a Tuesday night. But it picked up as the night went on. Service was a little slow...not achingly so, but I did find myself looking around to find the waitress a few times. It was 50 cent wing night, so we got 10 in the buffalo honey sauce. The wings themselves were very good, the sauce was heavy on the honey and light on the buffalo, so, not really my favorite. And FYI, they basically drizzle whichever sauce you pick on top of plain wings. So if you like a lot of sauce, I'd make sure to ask for more. The bf got a Randall's Reel Sandwich, which was battered/fried cod with a coleslaw. He got tater tots instead of fries. The fish was excellent. I got chicken and waffles...I was suckered in by descriptors such as "pickled jalapeno" and "cranberry maple mustard sauce". The chicken was very good and the sauce was sweet, but tasty. The waffle was a dry dense tasteless mass of cardboard. Bummer. I even asked for more sauce, but it didn't help at all. I ate most of the chicken and left the waffle. All in all, it was an ok dinner. I would come here again and try something else off the menu, maybe asking the waitress for a little guidance. read more

Delightfully surprised. Decent place. Good grub. Oh and I was offered a Founders KBS on draft followed by a Double Dose in a bottle. That's true man love right there. Ok maybe just good inventory. Worked for me. Quiet early on a Monday, Prolly fill up quick for MNF. But that's none of my business. read more

Thirsty Beaver - Decent beer selection. - Pubs Near Me - Cranston, Rhode Island

Great low key bar to grab a draft beer and delicious wings! I can't speak for anything else because I can't stray from the wings - they are always crispy and done perfectly! They have a big selections of wing sauces and dry rubs if you're looking for a good wing joint. It's a great atmosphere and the bartender is wonderful! She's super friendly and always provides the best service. Definitely recommend if you're looking to grab a beer, watch some sports, and eat wings! read more

Thirsty Beaver - Sam Adams Cold Snap and a peak at some of the menu! - Pubs Near Me - Cranston, Rhode Island

Hubby ordered very hot wings with ghost peppers, only sweated a little but loved the flavor!

i spent $6 on their stupid jukebox app and they skipped all of my songs. absolutely deplorable. but the drinks were strong and i had the best plate of nachos i have ever had. 4/5 jukebox tokens will be coming here again xo read more

A great place to stop by for lunch or after work. A north woods décor theme with lots of tables and TV screens, and outdoor seating for the warmer weather. They also have large doors they can open to bring the breeze in from outside. The food is more imaginative than typical bar food, appealing in both taste and appearance. Good service too. read more

The food is good. But ohhhh the waiting is the hardest part. (Maybe Tom Petty ate there and THEN wrote that song?) Party of 6, and we ordered apps. And waited for them. And waited. When they finally arrived i informed the waitress that we were still waiting to order our meals. At one point i had to walk up to the bar just to get a water pitcher refill. This place wasn't blown out the door busy, but the service was just sloppy, slow and distracted. (Our first water pitcher arrived with a huge crack in it, and we watched it leak for a few minutes until we got her attention). It should have been an hourglass so we could see how much time was wasted. And then.......She then proceeded to memorize our orders, writing nothing down. You already know she had to have gotten some things wrong, and of course, she did.But hey, what's a little more wasted time? The food was good enough so that i'd go back, but i don't want to spend 2 plus hours in a restaurant when all i want to eat is a sandwich. It's like going to a relatives house. You don't really like that particular Aunt and she's kind of scatterbrained, but the food she cooks is good enough to save the day. So? Go, but cancel other plans first. Expect good food and bad service and you'll be fine ! read more

So great! We came for Lord of the Wings (an RI food fight) and a beer. Bar is so cool, mood is a lot of fun for early on a Friday night. Large selection of draft beers and wonderful recommendations for wings from the bartender (chipotle maple sugar with cucumber wasabi sauce? bangin'). Will definitely return for more delicious wings and some of their awesome specials! read more

Wings were okay and service was neutral. Though a decent selection of sauces and dry rubs, the actual taste wasn't too great as well as the quality of the wings themselves. Beer selection was great though. read more

I was up in Rhode Island for Thanksgiving weekend and came here for drinks and dinner with friends. My friends who live in the area recommended the Thirsty Beaver. I think the name is cute! Upon arriving, I was a little surprised that the crowd was mostly in their mid-twenties, early thirties. I honestly didn't feel that "cabin" vibe that the website mentions, but it was still a fun atmosphere. I ordered a Westernette, which consists of grilled chicken, pimento cheese, pickled red onion, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and mayo in a plain wrap. The wrap was delicious, but not out of the ordinary. The highlight of my meal would have to be the fries. They were cooked just right and seasoned well. I wish our waitress was a little more attentive to us; she roamed for a while around the restaurant and talked to one particular group for quite a long time. read more

The food was really good. The service was pretty bad. We started with the big broccoli app, and some fried pickles. They were both soooo good. The server wanted to take our meal order right away. We had never been here before, and we asked for any suggestions. She had absolutely no personality and no input to go along with it. So we said we needed another minute. Our drinks were empty, the apps were eaten. We still hadn't seen our server return. Another while later, she comes back. We ordered a beat salad, a turkey burger, fish n chips, and a Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was requested to have grilled chicken. My friend's beat salad came out before everything, even though she asked for it to be served with the other meals... when those finally came, the Buffalo chicken was fried. There was cheese on my side salad, which I had asked for none to be there. Purely careless waitress. I would return for the food, though. read more

So I decided to give this another try. Boy, am I glad I did. We ordered wings, pizzas and onion wings. The food was great. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lively due to the game being on. I can't wait to come back. read more

This was our first time here, overall a great experience. The decor looks like a log cabin, very fitting for the name. We say at the beautiful wooden bar where we were greeted by two very friendly bartenders, Justin and Lauren. Justin gave us a quick rundown over what exactly they had on tap, making their extensive beer list less intimidating. We had quite a few beers but my favorite was the pineapple hard cider!! We started off with an order of the buffalo honey mustard wings.... They were delicious! I probably could of had those as my meal and been satisfied. For dinner I got the Rueben and my boyfriend got the pulled pork, both with waffle fries. The sandwiches were not as great as we had anticipated but they weren't bad, just lacking a little in flavor. I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu, especially some wings and more tasty beer! read more

Best wings around & they can also make them gluten free. GF pizza is also amazing. One of our favorite places.

Nice for appetizers with friends. Only a few options for you and friends to share, but if you like American food this place is for you. The food was good as well as the service. read more

Service was absolutely tragic. Our waitress avoided us at all costs it seemed. Ended up waiting close to an hour after putting our food in on a very casual non busy Sunday afternoon. Can't imagine what this place is like when there are more people. It was horrible, wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

Went for wings and they were very yummy. Also had 2.00 kick the keg beer special on Tuesdays. Can't wait to go back!

I've been here a few times. Food is always good. Cool environment. Outdoor eating in the nicer months. It's definitely a little pricey but the wings are good so I guess you're paying for the quality. read more

Get the tater tots Big Mac style. Huge portion and addicting! Ordered is as takeout- was delivered fast and tots were still crispy.

I've never had a bad meal at the Beaver! It's our go-to for delicious bar food - burgers, apps, sandwiches (including one of the best Reubens around!), pizza, etc. I haven't had many of the cocktails, but their beer list is great. Plenty of taps with rotating options. A fair amount of local options with a few brews from around the country thrown in. I love that I always get to try something new! read more

I have ordered food from here before and it was excellent, so i decided to order again! I ordered the Moretti's Out of This Park Pizza ($11) and The Dozen Buffalo Wings ($10). The wait was going to be about 20 minutes for takeout and when I picked it up the food came right out! However, the parking lot was packed and it was hard to find parking. The wings were good, not the best but still very good. The buffalo sauce was not too spicy, and came with bleu cheese and celery. The Pizza was also very good. I love the flat-bread grilled dough-excellent! The pink vodka sauce was not too heavy and there was a good amount of cheese on the pizza. The chicken that it was topped with was very moist and delicious! I would definitely come back to The Thirsty Beaver. read more

See all

My first beer was flat! Drank it anyway because that's how I roll. Nachos with buffalo chicken- fair at best and somewhat bland- Second beer (different brand) warm- never a good sign. Third beer is also warm- depression is setting in. Hoping for redemption with the tater tots. Decent tots but overall there are many better spots in the area. read more

Wait staff is covid paranoid. I asked for a to-go menu. The bar tender freaked out. I wasn't even inside the place, I was standing on the steps. She yelled at me to step back. I was at least 12 feet away from her, minimum. She told me to go over to the podium, she'll send someone over. I was standing there a good 5 minutes to no avail. So I started to look around it to see if there was any to-go menu's. I wasn't physically touching anything, just looking. Another waitress ran over. "Can I help you?!" with an attitude. I told her I was told to wait here for a to-go menu. She told me that there wasn't any. They only have menu's for people who dine there. 2 stars is very generous. read more
