Do not use the car wash at 3rd Base! I made the unfortunate mistake and I paid the price. I had been a frequent visitor of this location, as I like to support locally owned business as much as I can. I had just purchased my very first, brand new car on December, 30th 2017 from Sunset Honda in San Luis Obispo. On Sunday, January 14th I used the automated car wash. Unfortunately, it came out of the car wash scratched, and not just one scratch, but multiple, and I had not even owned the car a month. Needless to say, I was devastated. Now, before I had even received my license plates or made my first payment, I was having to get estimates to have my car detailed and have the scratches removed. I beat myself up over the fact that I should have known better and gone to a hand wash or touchless car wash, but there is a level of expectation that the service a business is providing shouldn't leave my vehicle in a worse condition than it was before. Initially, I didn't know if I should reach out to the owners, but I felt it would alleviate some of my inner self chastisement and maybe prevent it from happening to someone else. Their first reaction was one of care and concern. They wanted to help me, as you can see from the screenshot of the email. My main priority was to have Mohamed, the Manager, meet me and see the car for himself so that he could understand the amount of damage that had actually been caused. I never asked him for a specific amount of money, nor was I demanding in anyway. I was always willing to work with him to try and come to an agreement where both parties could walk away satisfied. I will admit the first estimate I received, which came from a detail shop in Atascadero, was rather high, but in all honesty the amount of damage leads one to believe that it wasn't far off. I took the opportunity to receive a second opinion while I was at Honda picking up my license plates and I asked them to look at the car - needless to say they were shocked. Thanks to their amazing customer service, the fact that I had just purchased the car there, and that they felt for me in this unfortunate circumstance, they were willing to detail it for only $185, which was taking a loss for them, as it took two days for them to attempt to fix all of the damage. To have my car completely back to its post 3rd Base appearance, it will actually require more work. Yes, there really was that much damage. After I had received the estimates Mohamed changed his mind about helping me and actually told me that I must have washed my car with a BRILLO PAD to have caused that much damage. Because that is what people do with brand new cars, or any car for that matter?! Or, the other scenario Mohamed put forward, was that the car, which had 7 miles on it when it was purchased, was already scratched and whatever Sunset Honda had used to "cover them up" came off that day when the car was washed. Insulting my intelligence was the last communication I had with Mohamed. He continued to ignore me after my repeated attempts to simply show him the damage before the vehicle was repaired. Contrary to his claim, they never tried to help me. He wouldn't even meet me. I reached out to him after the repair was finished and he still has chosen to give me the silent treatment. They claim to clean the bay of their car wash on a daily basis, which I find hard to believe. If they can't respond to an email and are completely unwilling to see damage caused by their car wash, they obviously don't care about their customers or the quality of the service that they are providing. Unfortunately, it always seems that when it comes to cars women are treated as if they don't know anything and are often taken advantage of, and this seems to be the case at every turn. Mohamed has made it very clear that when it comes to me, he has little to no respect, and his plan was to ignore me and hope I would go away - he actually said that to a mutual acquaintance. I hold our local business owners to higher standards than that, and I hope you would too. read more

Third Base has been a great addition to Paso Robles. Steve and his entire crew are friendly and knowledgeable. The beverage selection - especially beer and spirits - is fantastic and prices are reasonable. If the selection lacks anywhere it's in local wine and even that is better than most Paso locations. The food is solid too. The only real flaw in the place is the design of the carwash entry that can leave people blocking the pumps. However, they seem to have worked that out for the better now. Seems like I end up here at least 2-3 days a week, which is convenient because it's halfway between my home and office. read more

People are nice, the selection in the market is extensive, the menu lists so many things is can even be overwhelming. I had a hot pastrami sandwich and for the price / performance I was under whelmed. Just not enough sandwich / meat for the money. I got into Paso Robles after an early flight. I realized I needed a toothbrush and toothpaste and I had a meeting later that I needed to bring beer to. I went to honestly 10 different places around downtown looking for these three items. No one seemed to carry all three. I finally came upon this place and they had it all. A great selection of beer plus the little toiletries a traveler might need. The guy behind the counter was super friendly too. This place will blow your mind from the minute you walk in. Everything is so neatly organized and stuff into every corner the liquor selection is on another level. I was recommended to stop here by a local hotel and I said a "gas station" and laughed. I was thrown off guard for sure! I need to get gas and walked around and forgot I was at the pump for 20 mins. so I moved my car and ordered lunch and shopped for a bit. Wow I was excited to pick up my order. The menu looked really good and my mom had order from here before and loved it. Sadly when I arrived none of the cashiers were wearing mask and I looked at the cooks and both had their mask around their neck while they prepared food. I walked up to the only cashier who had a mask on and told her I didn't want my order after all. Since they are not taking Covid-19 precautions. She apologized and told me to tell the owner. Always greeted with a smile. Clean and organized. Also the deli is to die for. The food fresh, made daily and very good combination of goodies. My personal favorite is the 1/2 order of biscuts and gravy with an egg easy over on top. Pure delight for less than 6 dollars!
