Drinks and vibe is amazing! My best friend and I went for a goodbye get together and Tristan served us at the bar and was great! We got a few drinks and had dessert and it was phenomenal. Thank you, Tristan!

As the self appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back at it with another one. This time was checking out a speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Gilbert on a Friday evening at 9 p.m. I parked for free on the street before making my way to The White Rabbit. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

A fine bourbon old fashion. Smooth and great happy hour choice.

An establishment that resembles the 1920s speakeasy well, the ambiance and dark calmness of the place is a wonderful addition to that of someone wanting a higher end feel of experience, with the prices being lower than expected. The flats were amazing and I highly recommend coming in around happy hour!

"Rabbit rabbit rabbit," is a superstition in some English-speaking countries where a person says "rabbit", "rabbits", or "white rabbits" upon waking on the first day of a month to ensure good luck for the rest of it. And with it being the New Year, I thought this was a great opportunity to start the year with The White Rabbit. I came here with seven others after an event and ordered the Cha Cha Real Smooth ($17 - Kalai Coconut Rum, Pineapple, Amaretto, Strawberry, and topped with Housemade Coconut Matcha Cream). Now this is a great way to end the nice! I can see why it was listed as a dessert because it drank like one. Mix it up and take a sip. Like Pringles, you just can't stop. Such a cute speakeasy in Downtown Gilbert. It's a vibe inside. Comfy seating, copper tiled backsplashes, and delightful drinks were had. They also serve food here so enjoy somes bites while you sip.

Presentation is half of the experience!

So glad I stopped by! It wasn't on my list of speakeasies as this was a bit far from where I was staying. But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. All the flavors were well balanced and well thought out. They also had a girl singing tonight and she was amazing!!! Thanks for a nice relaxing night. Service was a 5/5 and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

12/31/2025 TWR had been on my list for so long. I even signed up for their email list a long time ago, got the emails with the monthly password, but never went. Finally made a reservation to check it out on New Year's Eve. The NYE reservation was $60 per person, and the amount would be added to the final bill. OpenTable said it would come with a welcome cocktail, truffle popcorn, and champagne for the toast at midnight. I had also reserved bar seating. When we checked in outside at 10:30pm, the guy told us that OpenTable overbooked the bar area and asked if we were okay with a table. That was fine with us, as long as we could still be seated. Note: Even if you have a reservation, you still need the password! At the bottom of the stairs, a guy led us through a door. We walked down a hallway with shelves on one side full of bottles. We seemed to have reached a dead-end, but we knew there had to be some kind of trigger to open the secret door. The guy peeked in and told us to pull the rabbit! The bar was a lot darker than I had expected. The artwork were portraits of some strange, kind of creepy-looking people. There were two co-ed bathrooms shared between TWR and another bar. Thankfully I went shortly after I got there and was the first person in line because the line never stopped after that. There was a sign that said only TWR customers could enter TWR. Eventually they got an employee to stand there to enforce that. At our table, we didn't get truffle popcorn and didn't see it on anyone else's table. Our waitress said they didn't actually have it (so OpenTable shouldn't have said that), but she offered us chips and hatch green chile queso to make up for it. It tasted pretty good, but we were too full to eat much of it. The welcome cocktail was a choice between Bee's Knees and something else I don't remember. I chose Bee's Knees because I like gin cocktails. I did not like this one though. A bit too sour for me. I wanted to try something else on their cocktail menu. I told the waitress what spirits I like, then she recommended the Whirligig - Mezcal, lime, cucumber, agave, and citric acid. I enjoyed this one, and it came with a fun pinwheel that actually spun when you blow on it. Just a few minutes before midnight, they passed out glasses of champagne. Then the whole bar counted down from 10. Everyone had a big smile on their faces and was having a good time. Happy New Year!

This is a cool little speakeasy in downtown Gilbert. We had a party of eight, and they let us know that our gratuity would be added and that we could not have separate checks, but that was okay. You scan the QR code for the menu, but there is a full bar so they can make any drink you would like. I really, really like the cocktail I ordered off the menu. There is also a food menu. A couple of people in our party ordered flatbread pizza, but I didn't try it. I did hear them say it was pretty good, and they offered a gluten-free option as well.

3 1/2 stars - Second time visiting The White Rabbit since it opened, and honestly, this might be my last time. My girls and I had a reservation, and once we arrived, we were seated, and our server, Chloe, was great! She was attentive and very friendly. As we approached the two-hour limit, we asked if we needed to settle up, and she said no, we could stay longer as they weren't too busy. We let her know our DD was there to pick us up and asked if he could come down and join us. She said that would be fine, but the door guy totally turned our DD away and wouldn't let him come down to join us. Such a bummer, as my girls and I would have likely ordered more drinks and dessert.

It's hilarious watching humans try to get into here!!!

Ok so, I've found that taking my out of town guests here before going anywhere else, is how to get your "WELCOME TO AZ" funtivites started! Although, the place doesn't serve food, it's a great place to start with a cocktail for your guests, which is fun watching them, to figure out how to get into the joint! My daughter figured it out but, not right away! The rabbit figurines caught her attention and when she went to touch it, she found the door. Lol I love watching humans try to figure out how to get in! Lol I wouldn't tell guests that you're bringing them here because they will cheat by reading the reviews. Surprise them and bring them so that you can see them feeling confused. Lol You might want to Video tape or take photos before entering. There's plenty of free parking onsite as well as, on the street. Remember, you need a password to enter!

This is a speakeasy in downtown Gilbert, probably one of my most favorite ! The entrance was pretty cool, you'll have to figure out where the secret door is. They make the best cocktails , perfectly balanced. I've been here a few times and I always get the blueberry margarita with the black salt on the rim. It has a little spice to it too! Very unique decorations inside. They have some small plates/ appetizers as well Definitely recommend!

So fun! Love a good speakeasy and this is it. Did a wonderful job on the decor. Super moody, dimly lit. Clean restrooms We came on a Wednesday around 6pm, no reservations. It's located down some stairs. They have their logo to signal which way to go and where they are. No line, we were pleasantly greeted, gave the password and seated immediately, with barely a handful of people there. My bf and I were able to speak normally to each other, no shouting. On Wednesday's they have live music. It was this lovely musician. He had kind of like a jazzy blues feel & again not too loud. We made it for happy hour so my bf got an old fashion, we split a pepperoni flat bread, and I got the ritual and show me the body. Later we also got the pesto pizza. The drinks were a miss for me. They are doing a lot with the drinks, but they give details of the drink and an overall vibe so I think that's helpful. Nothing fabulous about the flat breads but enjoyable. After 730 it started to pick up a lot and became a normal noisy level for a bar. Our waiter was very attentive, then as it got busy he was starting to be spread thin as it was just him. Still no line as we left around 8pm ish My recc to enjoy this and have a great time, is to arrive between 5-6. Drinks are pricey but they have their happy hour. And then if you do plan to come later and esp during the weekend, make a reservation, expect lines, expect a loud place, you know, normal bar stuff haha I'll def come back and I hope I find a drink I like because drinks are anywhere from 12-17$

Tried to be the responsible designated driver and pick up my crew after their night out--zero drinks for me, just here to get everyone home safe. Nope. Door guys acted like entitled wannabe tough guys, straight-up rejected me and wouldn't let me in to grab my party. Like, bro, you're bouncers at a speakeasy, not Secret Service. Zero help for sober drivers doing the right thing. This place clearly has no clue how to accommodate responsible people--total attitude over safety. Hard pass, won't recommend to anyone who actually cares about getting home alive. (Pro tip: If you're in Tempe and this was somewhere else, swap in the exact spot name. But based on what's out there, this fits the Gilbert White Rabbit vibe perfectly.)

We were interested in trying something new in the Phoenix area- so when I came across a speakeasy in the area, I was excited! This speakeasy in located in downtown Gilbert and has been open for approximately seven years according to our waitress. To get into the speakeasy, you will need to make a reservation (you can reserve a bar or table seat), get a passcode and find the entrance which of course is lit by a red light. Once you find the door, you will have to tell them know your password, to be let in. Once you are in, you will be treated to the ambiance of this SPEAKEASY, BUT first you'll have to find the entrance- hint the name of the restaurant and red light. The bar is darkly lit with décor featuring all things related to apothecary, shelves of bottles and concoctions are featured on the shelves and along the bar. The drinks on the menu are interesting- a lot of unique drinks. If you like to keep it simple, you can always request your favorite cocktails as well. The bar also features a light menu that include a Bavarian pretzel with honey mustard, flatbread and pizza. Plus on weekdays from 4-6pm they have a happy hour with drinks and some food items at discounted prices. Note the seating is for only two hours. This bar tends to be on the louder side- we had trouble hearing each other and we were seating next to each other. Perhaps something to dampen the noise on the ceiling would be helpful. Don't miss the bathroom, if you like old school toliets! Its in the doctors office! haha!

It was all of our first time there and I just love how adorable the ambience was! They all seemed to enjoy their food too. But let me tell you about the staff, everyone was so incredibly kind to us, hospitality was top-notch. I couldn't believe how much they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. On the way out, they were so gracious and offered to take some birthday pictures in front of their adorable bookshelf backdrop. Thank you Maeva for such a memorable birthday brunch!

There is construction in front so you walk through plywood walls to get to the entrance but the party is inside. The atmosphere is relatively dark and they have VERY old Mexican themed shows on the tv. They also have an incredible drink menu which my adult Daughter took full advantage. The service was also excellent as she tried to decide between drinks. Our waiter was very helpful and they always made sure we had enough water or anything we needed. The start of the prix fixe menu that week was clams or Birria Dumplings. Hello.....Dumplings! Is that really a choice. Went right for the dumplings and thrilled I did. There were a couple dumplings swimming in a red consume that was truly deep in flavor. The wrappers were tender and the beef inside even more so. It was so great, I would return just for those. Next we had the Chicken. I love dark meat and my son-in-law loves the white meat. We started to laugh when they presented a bowl with 2 legs to me and one with a breast for him. We laughed and asked, "How did you know". Both were fantastic. Again, incredible depth of flavor with the sauce, delicious roasted green chile and tasty potato discs. It was great and the legs were big! Finally, for dessert, I went with the Bourbon Flan. Very smooth and creamy with a great flavor and sauce topped with some Bourbon Whipped cream. I will definitely be back to try the Flank steak which a nearby table raved about.

The menu is quite unique I.e Birria dumplings etc. It just didn't blow me away. Plus it's a little overpriced for my opinion. Now the service and the drinks, phenomenal. Now would I be back? Probably not unless it's for a nice cocktail

While I don't recall ordering food there, we had ordered drinks on several occasions. We also saw the food being brought out for others, not from our group, on several occasions. The service, the staff, and the drinks were all great! The 1912 Lounge can provide a cold beer, some handcrafted cocktails, or a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to burgers and other large entrees, and desserts. They have bold wines and plenty of domestic and imported beer options. The atmosphere comes across as friendly and cozy. The 1912 Lobby Bar and Lounge serves food until 10 PM on weekdays and until 11 PM on weekends. It is open until 11 PM from Sunday through Thursday and until Midnight on Friday and Saturday. Well, this is a little surprise down the street, I had Kava with a girlfriend the other day for the…read morefirst time. My friend picked this place because it was quirky and cool. She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. She thought Java Kava was a coffee lol So to my surprise when I get there, Kava is a dirt water that is very, very strong and pungent and not my cup of tea lol But besides that, this place is so hip and cool. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. They had really great music going on and like I said the bartender was top-notch. Good job mad Hatter.!!! Try it!!

FYI--the reservation email really doesn't explain how to get in, so here's what you need to know! Go into Level 1, which is an arcade, and walk ALL the way through to the back. Go out the door to the outside patio area and you'll see a security guard. Let them know you have a reservation for Alchemy 48. Someone will come up from downstairs, get you, and take you down to the speakeasy. Then comes the riddle! Don't feel intimidated if you're not good at riddles--I stressed about this part a little bit beforehand. Don't! Just read it. She gives you a clue that basically tells you what to do, and it's super easy. TIP: Make sure you take a picture in the little riddle/entrance room because you DON'T come back through that room when you leave! We almost missed that opportunity. Once you're inside, it has a really nice, romantic speakeasy atmosphere. We loved the live jazz and really enjoyed the whole experience. It would also be so much fun to dress up a little in Prohibition-era style for the night. For drinks, I had the Neapolitan and my husband had a Manhattan. Yes, the drinks are a little strong--but isn't that how they're supposed to be in a Prohibition speakeasy? Overall, we really enjoyed Alchemy 48. It's romantic, a little different, and the hidden entrance and riddle make it more of an experience than simply going out for drinks. Definitely a fun addition to a date night! Service is a tad bit slow
